Gilbert Arenas Claims He Was Better Than Steph Curry at 25

Gilbert Arenas was once a megastar for the Washington Wizards. It seemed as if every night, “Agent 0” was putting on a memorable performance. Arenas was on pace to be one of the greatest to ever play the game. However, injuries robbed him of such an amazing career. Still, everyone remembers the play he was before the injuries. Even Arenas himself knows how talented he was at one time. On a recent episode of the I Am Athlete Podcast, Arenas discussed his talents pre-injury.

However, the discussion then went to if Arenas thought he was better than Steph Curry. That’s when Arenas didn’t hesitate. Arenas believes he was better than Curry, to a certain extent. The former Wizards star stated that if you cut both players’ careers at 25, then he is better than Curry. However, Arenas admits that all-time career, Curry’s resume can’t be matched. To listen to what Arenas had to say on the podcast, check out the video below.

Gilbert Arenas Embraces His Greatness

Arenas discusses the accolades he achieved in such a short period of time. Even mentioning his all-star and all-team achievements stood at 25. Arenas went even further by saying Curry wasn’t a champion by 25. The argument does change when you put the age limit at 25. However, injuries are sadly a part of the game. Which is something Curry knows all about as well. However, this discussion will for sure spark highly contested arguments amongst NBA fans. Arenas makes a compelling case. However, is the argument fair when discussing who is better between the two?

Curry will for sure hear about this clip sooner or later. However, the four-time NBA champion is undoubtedly keeping his focus on the playoffs. Curry’s Warriors lost an exciting game one to the Sacramento Kings. However, that one loss isn’t going to stop the reigning NBA champions from coming back with a vengeance. Gilbert Arenas’ comments are fun to discuss. But the who is better argument is always an all-time discussion. Not a pick and choose of what years can be compared. Gilbert Arenas Proposes New NBA Playoff Format

Gilbert Arenas has a different idea to give the NBA Playoffs an even more inspiring road. The former Washington Wizards star believes that winning is the ultimate reward. However, what if teams continued to play at home until they lost? An idea that has long been thought of but never been seriously considered. However, Arenas believes the time is now to make the winner take all type of schedule. On a recent episode of his show Gil’s Arena, Arenas was asked about one thing he would change about the NBA Playoffs.

“We don’t go to the home until you win the game. So it’s like make it, take it. If we win, we keep staying home until you beat us then we go to yours.” Arenas’ thought is something that every backyard hooper has been a part of. If you’ve ever played a pick-up game, most of the time, the rule is you make the shot, you keep the ball. The idea that a team winning would give them home court is the whole point of technically having home court. However, the idea may not grab legs due to the fact of ticket sales in all the different markets.

Gilbert Arenas Wants To See Actual Home Court

The idea of earning home court is an interesting concept. It would bring more urgency to the NBA Playoffs. Especially with the teams getting more time off in between games during the postseason. The only privilege of having home court is that if the series goes all seven games, your team would host a game seven. While that is an essential factor. However, it feels like the games before it doesn’t carry as much weight because we know everyone gets to host at least two games.

Arenas has been involved in a few playoff series himself. The former NBA star knows how important it is to play in front of your home crowd. However, would his suggestion hurt fan bases that would potentially not get to see their team in postseason action? What are your thoughts on Gilbert Arenas’ thought of earning a home-court advantage? Do you believe the NBA would even discuss the idea? Leave us your thoughts on the idea in the comment section. Gilbert Arenas Gets Honest About Previous Generations Of The NBA

Gilbert Arenas is someone who is brutally honest whenever he speaks. Even if you disagree with his opinions, it is clear that he has a lot of passion for the game of basketball. Overall, he does not care who he may offend whenever he speaks. Moreover, he has been able to build a large platform with his podcast. On this shoe, Arenas is able to give as many hot takes as possible in an unregulated fashion. This is certainly a style that fits his personality, and it has led to some great banter over the years.

As it pertains to basketball discourse, much has been made about the previous generations and how they compare to today. Every single day it feels like some old head is calling the new generation of NBA stars “soft.” Furthermore, players like LeBron get called out for “not being able to survive in the 80s.” Of course, these are ridiculous notions as we never got to see LeBron in the 80s. At the end of the day, this discourse is simply not productive, and Arenas is a bit sick of it.

Gilbert Arenas Pulls No Punches

In a recent episode of his No Chill podcast, Arenas set the record straight about the difference between the eras. In his eyes, the 80s cannot hold a candle to the basketball that was played in the 90s and eventually the 2000s. Moreover, he would even extend that to today as he finds that the current game is amazing. He even took a swipe at Bill Laimbeer, noting that he would never be able to defend the young guys playing now. “80s cannot compete with 90s, 2000s, and now. It is a pointless argument. Bill Laimbeer cannot play basketball today, his defense does not work today,” Arenas professed.

This is one of those hot takes that will rub oldheads the wrong way. After all, the generation wars have been heating up quite a bit. This is especially true now that LeBron has the record for most points in the history of the NBA. Let us know if you think Arenas is correct, in the comments below. Gilbert Arenas Delivers Baffling Russell Westbrook Take

Gilbert Arenas is someone who has always had some interesting opinions about the NBA and its various players. Overall, when he was playing the game, he was known for being an amazing scorer. Players throughout the league respected his game, and as a result, his opinions are also respected. However, sometimes he will come out and say something that is hard to agree with. After all, he is a former player which means sometimes, he is biased when speaking about guys in the league. Even if they have been playing poorly, it is hard for him to get down on them too much.

One player who Arenas has defended quite a bit is none other than Russell Westbrook. Although he has played poorly, many, including Arenas, think Russ still has a lot to give. After a trade to the Utah Jazz, Westbrook will subsequently be bought out and will likely sign with a new team. Among the teams expected to sign Westbrook is the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, and Chicago Bulls.

Gilbert Arenas Speaks

In the most recent episode of his podcast, Arenas made some wild comments about Russ and just how much he means to the league. “This man alone changes who wins the championship this year,” Arenas said. Simply put, Arenas believes Russ can turn someone into a contender. Overall, it is very hard to see that happening. If that were actually true, then the Lakers would have been the ultimate contenders throughout the season. Instead, they were horrible and are still 13th in the Western Conference. Needless to say, fans aren’t so certain that Arenas is telling the truth here.

Either way, it will be interesting to see where Russ ends up. There are some good teams that could use a point guard now. The Clippers seem to be the best fit for Westbrook, although there is no guarantee that they pick him up. Hopefully, he can find a permanent home that truly appreciates what he brings to the table. Let us know what you think of Arenas and his take, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the sports world.

Kwame Brown Rips Gilbert Arenas For Being A “Coward”

Kwame Brown is someone who has been made the butt of the joke by many NBA fans. One can just go on YouTube and find Stephen A. Smith’s infamous rant in which he called Brown a “bonafide scrub.” Not to mention, as a former first-overall pick, there were certain expectations that were thrust onto Brown.

Subsequently, Brown has started to speak out against those who have disparaged him. Throughout 2021, Brown made numerous videos in which he took shots at Stephen A., Matt Barnes, Charlamagne Tha God, and a whole host of others. He even had a very public feud with his former teammate, Gilbert Arenas.

Kwame Brown Speaks

Recently, Brown was on The Pivot Podcast where he got to speak in-depth about his career and the various hardships he faced. The interview is incredibly raw and he portrays Brown as someone who is confident in himself. Kwame had a lot of interesting things to say, and overall, it was an interesting listen.

Brown also addressed his feud with Arenas, noting that he has very little respect for the man. Simply, Brown did not appreciate some of the threats he made throughout their back and forth.

“I don’t wanna talk about that guy, after he mentioned putting a pistol to my throat…He’s definitely what’s wrong with our community, because he’s a coward…Do you think Gilbert Arenas would say that about J.J. Redick?” Brown asked.

Brown makes a good point, and it’s clear that some of the comments Arenas made bothered him greatly. To that point, Brown explained how analysts need to watch how they talk about players. For instance, calling someone a “scrub” or a “bust” can affect fan perception to the point where they don’t want to accept community outreach from them. It’s a poignant concept to think about, and we’re sure his words will make fans think a little bit harder about how narratives affect these players in real life.

Let us know what you thought of Brown’s remarks, in the comments below. Moreover, you can watch the entire Pivot Podcast interview, down below.

Gilbert Arenas On Larsa Pippen Dating Younger Men, “She Needs The Attention”

Larsa Pippen, former wife of Scottie Pippen, has been tied to a number of celebrities since their split. On the 48-year-old dating younger men, Gilbert Arenas recently offered his thoughts, saying that he thinks she “needs the attention.”

Sitting down with VladTV,  the former Washington Wizards star shared, “She’s a single woman. Who’s going to be attracted to her at this point in her life? Younger men.”

“She needs the attention,” Arenas added. “She needs someone who’s going to look at her like she is the prize trophy. The only person that’s going to do that is the younger generation…No 55-year-old man is going to be excited about, c’mon. There’s going to be younger men. If this doesn’t work out, there’ll be another younger man.

Larsa has been romantically tied with Utah Jazz player Malik Beasley and rapper Future. The mother of four is currently rumored to date Marcus Jordan, the son of famed NBA player Michael Jordan.

Recently telling the New York Post that they are simply friends, Larsa reportedly added, “I’m in a place right now where I’m finally open to dating. Every time I’m seen out with someone, [people] make it out to be more than it actually is, and it’s normally nothing. So, yeah, I’m just dating right now and focusing on my businesses, my family, and having fun.”

Gilbert Arenas Reacts To Shannon Sharpe-Skip Bayless Feud

Gilbert Arenas is one of the most entertaining voices in NBA media. The former player was phenomenal on the court, and he certainly doesn’t pull any punches on his podcast. Additionally, when he gives his opinion, he always tries to present the most facts possible.

Overall, Arenas is someone that fans want to hear from. His days as a Washington Wizard have granted him the credentials to speak on anything, including the media landscape. In a recent appearance on VladTV, that is exactly what he did.

Gilbert Arenas Reacts

In the clip below, Arenas was asked about the infamous argument between Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. During this debate, Skip told Shannon that he isn’t as good as Tom Brady. Subsequently, this led to a screaming match that now has people believing that Skip and Shannon hate one another.

Arenas took a measured approach while speaking on the matter. In his view, this is the overall problem he has with sports media. Effectively, everyone’s credentials are constantly being questioned, even if they make a good point. Someone could be dead-on with their analysis, however, if they are missing a championship, they will get roasted for it.

Arenas wants this to change as he feels like it is the biggest problem plaguing modern debate. There is too much emphasis on your credentials, and not enough on the meat of what you’re saying.

Overall, it is very hard to disagree with this statement. After all, we see this all of the time, especially in the NBA. It’s not productive, and it had led to a decline in intellectual discussion.

Let us know what you thought of Arenas’ remarks, in the comments down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the basketball world.

Gilbert Arenas Recalls Spoiling a Bet for Ja Rule & Irv Gotti: “I Could See the Disappointment in Their Face”

Gilbert Arenas Recalls Spoiling a Bet for Ja Rule & Irv Gotti: “I Could See the Disappointment in Their Face”

During their appearance on Drink Champs, Irv Gotti and Ja Rule recall going to see a Houston Rockets game when they took on the Golden State Warriors.

The Rockets were led by Murder Inc’s friend Steve Francis, and a rookie Gilbert Arenas was on the other side. During the game, Irv and Ja put up $175,000 on the Rockets to cover the game spread. They would end up losing the bet after Arenas tossed up a meaningless half-court three that went in, and the Rockets would not cover.

Sitting with Vlad TV, Arenas recalls the moment, citing the faces of the Murder Inc guys was enough to give him a personal win.

“I could see the disappointment in their face,” Arenas said. “I won. I won the game. We’re going back to the locker room, and I’m sitting there like, ‘Yeah, I hurt somebody’s feelings today.’”

He added, “I didn’t know how much money they had on the game. I didn’t really know it was about betting, but I knew I hurt [Gotti’s] feelings. I knew I hurt his feelings. He was disappointed even though they won. He was disappointed, so that means I won.”

What made Arenas pull the meaningless shot? A heckling Ja Rule. You can hear it from Agent Zero below.
