Kristaps Porzingis is once again on the move, becoming the newest member of the Boston Celtics. The addition of Porzingis is part of a three-team trade bringing Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies and Tyus Jones to the Washington Wizards.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal includes the first-round pick in the draft from Memphis to Boston and the Golden State Warriors first-round pick in 2024. That pick is top-five protected. Also moving are Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala from Boston to Washington.

The deal comes after a previous one set that would send Malcolm Brogdon to the Los Angeles Clippers fell through.

The Wizards brought in Chris Paul and Landry Shamet days before after sending out Bradley Beal.

Kristaps Porziņģis Trade Saved By Memphis Grizzlies

On June 22, it was revealed that the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards were working on a deal to send center Kristaps Porziņģis to Boston. It was the second major trade of the offseason, and also the second featuring the Wizards. On June 18, they sent Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, and a package of picks. Porziņģis has been a key contributor for the Wizards. Joining the team via a trade in 2022, Porziņģis had a career-high 23.2 points per game. Furthermore, he had a career-high shooting percentage of 49.8%. Acquiring Porziņģis would earn the Celtics a definite upgrade at center. Porziņģis is a decade younger than current standing center Al Horford and had a much stronger 2022-23 season.

The Porziņģis trade was meant to be a three-team deal also featuring the LA Clippers. The Wizards would receive Marcus Morris, Amir Coffey, the 30th pick in the 2023 Draft from the Clippers, and Danilo Gallinari from Boston. Meanwhile, Boston would receive Kristaps Porziņģis. Finally, the Clippers would get Malcolm Brogdon from the Celtics. However, around 90 minutes after the news was broken, the deal had reportedly fallen apart. With the Clippers pulling out, the Wizards and Celtics were left scrambling to complete the deal before the deadline on Porziņģis’ player option passed.

Grizzlies Join Porziņģis Deal

Per ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Porziņģis deal was saved by the intervention of the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies, who have been linked with trades elsewhere, took the place of the Clippers in the deal. The Celtics receive Porziņģis, Memphis’ 2023 first-round draft pick, and Golden State’s 2024 top-four protected first-round draft pick. Meanwhile, Washington receives Tyus Jones from the Grizzlies, and Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala, and a 2023 second-round pick from Boston. Finally, Memphis receives Marcus Smart from the Celtics.

It’s a complicated trade with a lot of moving parts. However, Boston gets a new franchise center and two first-round picks to play with. The Grizzlies get a workhorse veteran who could also help with their locker room atmosphere. Furthermore, the Wizards get a collection of veteran talent as they look to retool their roster and start their rebuild. Who do you think won this trade? Let us know in the comments. Boston Celtics Reportedly Pursuing Kristaps Porziņģis

The Boston Celtics were so close and yet so far from the NBA finals this season. Maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference, given how dominant the Nuggets were. However, the Celtics became just the fourth team in league history to overcome a 0-3 deficit before also becoming the fourth team to then lose the subsequent game seven. While they have retained the star tandem of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics are eager to put together a roster to find them a championship.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards are at the other end of the contention spectrum. In recent days, they decided to finally trigger a full rebuild, trading Bradley Beal to the Suns. However, the return package was definitely less than expected, only netting them Chris Paul, Landrey Shamet, and some second-round picks. Perhaps because of this, recent reports suggest the Wizards aren’t done dealing.

Celtics Want Sign-And-Trade For Porziņģis

Per Shams Charania, the Boston Celtics are in talks with the Washington Wizards to acquire center and former fourth-overall pick Kristaps Porziņģis. Porziņģis is a Lativan star drafted in 2015 after beginning his pro career with Sevilla. He has been a key contributor for the Wizards. Joining the team via a trade in 2022, Porziņģis had a career-high 23.2 points per game. Furthermore, he had a career-high shooting percentage of 49.8%. 2023-24 represents a player option year for Porziņģis, who stands to make $36 million if he opts in. It’s believed that the Celtics would rather he opt-in and then be traded to them, rather than pursue him in free agency.

Acquiring Porziņģis would earn the Celtics a definite upgrade at center. Porziņģis is a decade younger than current standing center Al Horford. Furthermore, the Latvian had vastly superior numbers in every statistical category. He could be a crucial piece in a Celtics title run. However, it remains to be seen what sort of compensation the Wizards would want in return. Additionally, the loss of Porziņģis would mean that the Wizards would have parted ways with their top three scorers from last season. This would be the case after the Beal trade and Kyle Kuzma opting out of his player option year. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here on HotNewHipHop.

Bradley Beal Trade Roasted By NBA Twitter

Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards weren’t exactly a match that was working out. Although Beal was able to secure the bag from the Wizards, the team was never able to surround him with solid assets. Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma are not going to help you contend for a championship. Furthermore, they couldn’t even get this team to contend for a playoff spot. Overall, it became clear that Beal was not going to be with the team for long. After all, when you’re scoring over 25 points per game, it’s difficult to want to stay with a team that is going nowhere.

Throughout the past couple of days, there had been rumblings that Bradley Beal would be traded to either the Phoenix Suns or the Miami Heat. In the end, however, it was the Suns who came out on top. They ended up trading Chris Paul and some other minor pieces to get him, which for a guy like Beal, is a pretty small price. In fact, the Wizards couldn’t even get a first-round pick, which is a huge indictment of the Washington front office.

Bradley Beal Traded

Following this trade, a lot of fans took to Twitter to sound off on all of this. Overall, there are two targets of the roast session here. Firstly, you have the Wizards who look completely incompetent here. After giving Beal a supermax that included a no-trade clause, the Wizards have egg on their face. Furthermore, the Suns now have a top-heavy big three with no bench. Their roster was already top-heavy, but now even more so. For some fans, this is just not going to work.

NBA Twitter Reacts

“The Wizards made a terrible deal for Bradley Beal Sunday. And they had no choice. Both are true,” reporter David Aldridge wrote. “It was the final, awful cost to finally set the franchise on the reset it should have started years ago.” One fan even went on to say, “A no trade clause with dat contract should put Bradley Beal in da National Museum of African American History.” Needless to say, NBA Twitter was on one yesterday, and they are still reeling from this latest move. Let us know what you thought of the trade, down below.

Phoenix Suns Finalizing Trade For Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal has been the focus of the NBA this week. On June 14, Shams Charania revealed that the Washington Wizards were working with franchise cornerstone Bradley Beal to find a trade the veteran would agree to. Beal has played his entire career in Washington after being drafted in 2012. However, the Wizards have only made the playoffs once in the last five seasons. Treading water at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, they are in desperate need of a full rebuild. With Beal still in his prime, it seemed like the perfect time to maximize his value.

With Beal holding a valuable no-trade clause in his current $207 million contract, the Wizards would have to be careful about what trade offers they pursued. The Heat, Bucks, Kings, and Nets were all reported as possible trade partners. Later, it was reported that the Heat and Suns were the finalists for Beal‘s services. Both teams were reportedly offering major trade packages to secure the veteran’s services. Despite this, it appears that the Wizards have reached a deal.

Phoenix Suns Trade For Bradley Beal

Per ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Washington Wizards are finalizing a trade that will send Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns. There he will form a big three alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. In exchange for Beal, the Suns are expected to send Chris Paul, Landry Shermet, a number of second-round picks, and some additional pick swaps to Washington. Reportedly, Miami had offered Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, and “multiple first-round picks” in exchange for Beal.

Speaking to ESPN, Beal’s agent Mark Bartelstein opened up about the process that lead to the trade. “This was an extremely complicated process with so many different hurdles to get through, and Ted Leonsis and Michael Winger were unbelievable partners in making this happen.” The deal is expected to be finalized and officially announced later this week. The deal was likely helped by the fact that Bartelstein’s son Josh is the current CEO of the Suns. However, it shows that the Suns intend to keep their foot on the gas in their hunt for the so-far elusive NBA championship. Meanwhile, the Wizards will be able to rebuild under the veteran leadership of Paul. The trade also appears to resolve Paul’s uncertain future in Phoenix. However, this may be just the first of many dominoes to fall as the NBA Draft approaches. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Rumored Bradley Beal Trade Offers Revealed

On June 14, Shams Charania revealed that the Washington Wizards were working with franchise cornerstone Bradley Beal to find a trade the veteran would agree to. Beal has played his entire career in Washington after being drafted in 2012. However, despite Beal’s caliber, the Wizards had always let him down in terms of a supporting cast. After a handful of Conference Semifinal appearances in the late-2010s, Washington has just one playoff appearance in the last five years.

A variety of teams were immediately floated as good theoretical fits for Beal. However, Beal’s incredibly weighty contract ($207.7 million over the next four seasons) is a major part of the negotiations. Furthermore, Beal will be going from being the top player on the Wizards to like the second or third player on another team. A figure like $207.7 million is a lot of money for a guy who isn’t your best player. Over the past few days, rumors have linked four teams to Beal. However, the most recent development is that the Wizards are in “serious talks” with the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns.

Rumored Beal Trade Offers Revealed

Per The Athletic, the Heat and Suns are offering major packages to try and secure Beal’s services. Miami’s deal reportedly pairs Kyle Lowery and Duncan Robinson with “multiple first-round picks.” Between now and 2030, the Heat currently own all but two of their first-round picks. The Thunder have the right to swap first-round picks with the Heat in 2025, as long as the Heat do not pick within the top-14. If they do, the Thunder retain the right to swap picks in 2026.

Meanwhile, the Suns’ package centers around star center DeAndre Ayton. The deal would additionally include “additional cap filler or future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul and Landry Shamet.” However, The Athletic report makes no mention of the Suns including picks in the deal. These offers present two very different futures for Washington. Either they can slowly rebuild through the draft or attempt a faster retooling around Ayton. Washington Wizards In “Serious Talks” With Miami Heat And Phoenix Suns About Bradley Beal Trade

Furthermore, Beal will be going from being the top player on the Wizards to like the second or third player on another team. A figure like $207.7 million is a lot of money for a guy who isn’t your best player. Despite this four teams have so far been linked with a move to acquire Beal – the Heat, the Bucks, the Kings, and the Nets. However, it appears that the trade talks are starting to heat up.

Heat And Suns Emerge As Frontrunners For Beal

Per Charania, the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns have emerged as finalists to acquire Beal’s services. The Suns, who were not previously mentioned in trade rumors, make for an intriguing trade partner. The team is looking to restructure after falling well short of their “win-now” objective for 2023. A trade for Beal could see DeAndre Ayton, Chris Paul, or both, heading to Washington. That would set up a Big Three of Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker anchoring the Suns next season.

Meanwhile, the Heat are $67.3 million over the cap. Furthermore, the Heat do not have a lot of weighty contracts they could offload to Washington to balance out Beal’s. A hypothetical trade could force the Heat to give up a lot of good depth talent. This could be somewhat mitigated by draft picks. Despite this, they will still need to find some way to balance the books to accommodate Beal’s massive contract. That said, securing Beal would allow the Heat to field their own Big Three of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Beal. Where do you think Beal will end up? Let us know in the comments. Brooklyn Nets Join Bradley Beal Trade Talk

A figure like $207.7 million is a lot of money for a guy who isn’t your best player. Despite this, the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks have both emerged as early suitors for the veteran’s services. They were subsequently joined by the Sacramento Kings. However, another Eastern Conference team has been linked with Beal.

Brooklyn Nets Join Beal Rumors

After a season spent collecting draft capital, the Brooklyn Nets have been vocal about their intention to build a contender around Mikal Bridges. They have a wealth of draft picks over the rest of the decade and the ability to build the team that best fits their vision. Beal would make an excellent, and reliable, veteran presence for what is likely to be a younger Nets team.

These latest rumors come courtesy of TNT’s Chris Haynes, who shared them on the #thisleague UNCUT podcast. While it’s unclear how serious or far along in their thinking the Nets are, they should be considered a potential suitor. This news is not the only Beal news of the day. In addition with the Nets joining the fray, the Wizards have reportedly granted Beal permission to speak with other teams. This is a major step forwards in the trade discussions. Furthermore, it indicates that the Wizards may be looking to get a deal completed before the NBA Draft. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Sacramento Kings Express Interest In Bradley Beal

On June 14, Shams Charania revealed that the Washington Wizards were working with franchise cornerstone Bradley Beal to find a trade the veteran would agree to. Beal has played his entire career in Washington after being drafted in 2012. However, the Wizards have never been able to put a team around Beal that would contend in any meaningful way.

Despite this, the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks have both emerged as early suitors for the veteran’s services. Now, new rumors indicate that a Western Conference team are also joining the mix.

Kings Reach Out To Wizards About Beal

According to Charania, the Sacramento Kings have had initial trade talks with the Wizards about acquiring Beal. Per Charania’s tweet, “it’s believed Beal would consider Sacramento given his no-trade clause.” The Kings snapped their 15-year playoff drought this season and appear to be a blossoming force in the Western Conference. The Kings are also only $50 million over the cap, which is a figure lower than both the Heat and the Bucks.

However, Charania noted that “right now there does not appear a clear pathway for the two sides.” This is likely a result of the Kings being unwilling to part with much of their young core, as they would want to add Beal as a veteran leader to that team. This would limit what the Kings could offer to the Wizards in exchange for Beal. Despite this, it’s a sign that Beal is a hot commodity. This could also be a good sign for the Chicago Bulls, who have reportedly begun to gauge interest in Zach LaVine. Where do you want to see Beal go? Miami Heat And Milwaukee Bucks Named As Bradley Beal Suitors

Despite this, a number of teams are starting to emerge as potential suitors.

Heat And Bucks Named Among Beal Suitors

Per reports from both Brian Windhorst and Shams Charania, the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks have both emerged as frontrunners for Beal’s services. Both teams are contenders, with the Heat coming over a Finals appearance. That should appeal to Beal, who holds a blanket no-trade clause. The problem is going to be Beal’s contract and what the teams are willing to give up for it. The Bucks are in a worse position right now. They are $87.7 million over the cap (Beal is owed $46.7 million in 2023/24). They also don’t have a lot of contracts to play with without giving up too much. Khris Middleton is an option. However, that requires both Middleton to exercise his player option and the Wizards to take a guy coming off major surgery.

Meanwhile, the Heat are $67.3 million over the cap. While the number is a little nicer, the Heat also do not have a lot of weighty contracts they could offload to Washington to balance out Beal’s. A hypothetical trade could force the Heat to give up a lot of good depth talent. Draft picks will also likely feature in the deal, which is another positive for Miami. The Bucks’ draft chest is very light for the next few years, meaning there are not a lot of premium picks to offer Washington. Meanwhile, the Heat do have a lot of picks at their disposal. Despite all this, this is a developing story and any updates can be found here at HotNewHipHop.
