During her recent interview with Carlos King, Laura Govan had a lot to say about her ex Gilbert Arenas’ relationship with Draya Michele. According to Govan, Arenas allegedly told her he received oral sex from a Philly woman in a car following a brief split. Later, when Draya first appeared on Basketball Wives, Govan claims she befriended her. Ultimately, however, Govan learned that Draya was allegedly the woman Arenas hooked up with.

“When I found out, it was because I was going through some papers at the house, and I saw that he had given her $25,000 and brought her to LA,” Govan explained. “I remember finding the paper, I remember calling my friend and telling her to pick up the kids for me… And I remember going to where she was filming in Hollywood… I remember showing up and I was not supposed to be filming, and I walked past everybody, and I beat the f**k out of her.”

Draya Michele Clears Things Up

Now, Draya has taken to her Instagram Story to defend herself. In a series of posts, she insists that Govan’s timeline isn’t accurate. “I didn’t mess with anyone’s husband,” she wrote in part. “Let’s be clear that no one was married. Let’s also be clear that the interactions I Had with him were years before I was on the show. I did not know her then. And I also did not know her when I agreed to be on the show or her sister. I didn’t even know either of them were going to be on the show so to say the word friend is a huge stretch.”

The Lakers drafted Bronny with the 55th overall pick. Next season, he and LeBron will be the first father-son duo in NBA history. The pick garnered a mixed reaction, with some praising the significance of the moment. Others made nepotism accusations, arguing that if the Lakers didn’t draft him, no one else would have.

Gilbert Arenas offered a different perspective, explaining that Bronny likely had other interested teams if agent Rich Paul had to make phone calls dissuading front offices from selecting him. Paul threatened to send Bronny to play in Australia if any other team drafted him. That move allowed the Lakers to draft him without fear of him being selected earlier. LeBron, who does not have many years as an NBA player left, will mentor his son as he navigates the early years as a professional athlete. He replied that Bronny will be a spectator, jokingly saying that he’ll be on the sideline yelling “Go Daddy Go!” while LeBron is on the court. He also said that Bronny will use all his time around the team to learn how to be great.

Gilbert Arenas and LeBron James had battles on the court, and now Arenas is showing support for James and his family in a media role, both on his own podcast and in his interview with DJ Vlad. James, who’s playing in the Olympics this summer, will be entering his 22nd season in the NBA in October. He is still one of the best players in the NBA, just a few months shy of his 40th birthday. If they’re not on the same education level as her, she’s gonna look down on [him].” he continued, “If they’re more educated than her, then they’re talking down to her. So these are the type of women that will typically be single because they can’t find the equal partner to who they are.” Arenas’s dating analysis was interesting, but ultimately, it was just his personal opinion and not a larger commentary on the psychology of dating and marriage. 

Amanda Seales responded to the comments on social media, saying, “Why is Gilbert Arenas even talking about me? I’m too smart to find a good man? That’s not even a thing. That’s an unfortunate statement to make.” She concluded, “I don’t even know what that’s trying to say about men. And the truth is I’m not trying to find a good man. A good man will find me. I’m talking to somebody right now.” Seales is used to being criticized because of her strong will and personality. Overall, Seales’ interview on Club Shay Shay seems to have been a confidence booster to the comedian and actor as she responds to all the naysayers.

Gilbert Arenas has defended the parents of Kobe Bryant from critics who have taken issue with their decision to sell their son’s championship rings. “They broke. They got no money. You can’t be mad because they’re selling the rings. The money wasn’t left to them. They tryna eat,” Arenas argued. While Kobe’s will has never been made public, it is believed that almost all of his money went to his wife Vanessa.

Of course, that decision in itself has been criticized online. Dr. Umar took aim at Vanessa last year for not spending the money she inherited on the Black community. Umar pointed to a “sports initiative” that Bryant recently started with “six predominantly white colleges”. Umar’s anger came as a result of Bryant not “choosing a single HBCU”. Umar was referring to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. In September, the foundation announced partnerships with UConn, USC, Kentucky, Oregon, Duke, and LSU. Of note – UConn was seen as the frontrunner in the recruitment of Gigi Bryant before her death.
