Megan Thee Stallion Accepts Planned Parenthood’s Catalyst Of Change Award At 2024 Gala

It’s been an undoubtedly busy few months for Megan Thee Stallion. Luckily, it doesn’t look like she has any plans of slowing down. Following the explosive release of two new singles earlier this year, Meg signed a unique new deal with Warner Music Group, which allows her to maintain her independence while still taking advantage of the label’s “distribution and marketing resources.” She also gearing up for her Hot Girl Summer tour alongside GloRilla, which is slated to begin next month. On top of all of that, the femcee even has a new album in the works. Fans expect to hear it later this year.

Meg’s schedule is certainly hectic, but she never fails to make time for what she believes in. Earlier this week, for example, she stopped by the annual Planned Parenthood Gala in Lower Manhattan. There, she was honored with the 2024 Catalyst of Change Award for being a vocal advocate for women’s reproductive healthcare.

“It feels like women have to fight harder than ever to make their own choices regarding their own bodies, families and futures,” she said upon accepting the award. “We need to create communities where women can receive sexual and reproductive healthcare with the love, respect, and compassion that they deserve.” The event was also attended by various other pro-choice celebrities, including Patricia Arquette and Busy Philipps. Each table at the gala cost somewhere between $10K and $250K, and all proceeds go to the non-profit.

Meg has been outspoken about her stance on abortion rights, calling out her home state of Texas at Glastonbury in 2022. “Texas really embarrassing me right now,” she said at the time. “And I want to have it on the record that the motherf*cking hot girls and the hot boys do not support this bullsh*t that y’all campaigning for. Ice Spice Hits Pre-Grammys Gala Amid Alleged Latto Feud & Fanbase Clashing

Ice Spice was one of many stunning stars at Clive Davis’ annual Pre-Grammys Gala on Saturday (February 3), rocking a sleek, black Rick Owens dress. Others like Coi Leray also wowed the crowd with their style, and it was a great opportunity for these creatives to link up and ease their nerves ahead of “music’s biggest night.” Moreover, the 24-year-old hitmaker got to meet Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey, Jack Antonoff, and many more celebrities at the event, and even got to perform. Hopefully tonight’s awards ceremony (Sunday, February 4) holds even more notable link-ups and moments for all these musicians to build rapport and entertain viewers.

However, a lot of Ice Spice fans are busy these days defending their GOAT against possible enemies, although they are all speculative. Recently, some new fuel was added to the alleged Latto beef fire, as the 777 MC filmed a music video in Spice’s hometown of the Bronx. Both sides speculated as to whether this was an intentional choice due to their supposed feud, which is only based on fan interpretations of subliminal, applicable-to-anyone shots and some minor coincidences and references. Regardless of the veracity or falsehood behind that, it’s important competition to uphold in the rap game, but only on an artistic level.

Speaking of competition, Ice Spice fans found themselves in direct battle with Megan Thee Stallion’s Hotties. A Nicki Minaj stan account compared the two on Twitter, and chaos ensued as each side made their arguments. Of course, Nicki and Meg are deep in beef right now, and the “Princess Diana” rapper and Queen Barb have quite the strong bond. They showed each other a lot of love and collaborated on “Barbie World,” although Spice herself hasn’t really engaged in any beef around this as of writing this article.

Meanwhile, folks hope they get to see much more of RIOTUSA’s rap partner at tonight’s Grammys ceremony. Not only is she up for Best New Artist and a couple more awards, but so is her most famous admirer: Taylor Swift. Jalen Hurts Vibes With Tems At “TIME” Gala

Jalen Hurts got to rub shoulders with the rich and famous during a recent appearance at the TIME 100 Gala. Attending with long-time partner Bry Burrows, Hurts found himself sitting alongside Nigerian musician Tems. The pair were seen exchanging pleasantries in videos posted to social media. Unfortunately, many of the videos were posted without audio so it remains a mystery what the pair talked about.

Hurts is having another stellar season with the Eagles, entering week 8 with a 6-1 record. He has over 1800 yards and 9 touchdowns already. However, he is already on pace to set a career in interceptions, having already thrown eight picks. He was also Mister Resilient this past weekend, playing the second half of a crucial win over the Dolphins while wearing a leg brace. He is currently listed as questionable ahead of the Eagles’ road game against the Commanders this weekend.

The NFL is full of musical crossovers at the moment. While Jalen Hurts is meeting Tems, Travis Kelce is being hit with surprising Taylor Swift stats. During Chiefs-Chargers this weekend, CBS pointed out that Travis Kelce’s yards per game more than double when Taylor Swift is in attendance. It’s an amusing stat, if a little inaccurate. Yes, Kelce is averaging 108 yards per Swift-attended game compared to 46.5 yards in the games the singer didn’t attend. However, it’s a data set of four games against a data set of two games. Furthermore, a majority of his Swift-attended stats can be attributed to his two most recent games – monster performances against the Broncos (124 yards) and Chargers (174 yards). Before the Broncos game, Kelce hadn’t cracked 70 yards in a game.

Regardless, both Kelce and head coach Andy Reid appeared pretty tickled by the notion. “Hard for me to wrap my head around that sentence,” Kelce noted about the graphic. “Kelce keeps getting better with time — Taylor can stay around all she wants,” Reid joked at his post-game press conference. The Chiefs are next in action on the road against Denver. Going back to Hurts for a moment, the Eagles face the Chiefs in Week 11 in a Super Bowl rematch.

Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, And N.O.R.E. Link Up At Spirit Of Life Gala

Earlier this week, various big names gathered to attend City Of Hope’s annual Spirit Of Life gala in Pasadena. This year’s even also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the organization’s partnership with the Music, Film and Entertainment Industry (MFEI). Among those in attendance were Diddy, Ludacris, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and more. Jay-Z was even spotted in the crowd, seated next to Swizz Beatz. The duo were seen chatting with Jon Platt, CEO of Sony Music Publishing.

In one clip, N.O.R.E. is seen approaching their table, asking Swizz Beatz to tell the room what he’s grateful for. He thanked everyone for coming out and “helping people to save lives.” When N.O.R.E asked Jay-Z to share a message with the people, however, he was told “I ain’t gonna do that. Get out my face, dog.”

This year’s gala celebrated music industry executive and entrepreneur Lyor Cohen, who gave a heartfelt speech towards the end of the evening. “We came here to help eradicate cancer, but wouldn’t it be great if we could also eradicate hate?” he told the crowd. Cohen proceeded to call on his peers to pray for peace for the people of Israel and Palestine.

“I’m so sorry to hijack this special event to express my feelings as a human,” he said. “Just as I express them when injustices happen to anyone targeted because of their race or religion or sexual identity… My heart goes out to all the Palestinian people in the region that have had to endure unnecessary loss of life. I pray for peace – won’t you join me?” DJ Cassidy also curated a performance featuring various hip hop artists who’ve been impacted by Cohen. Earl Sweatshirt & The Alchemist Share Full Version Of “Voir Dire” To Streaming

Earlier this year, rapper Earl Sweatshirt and producer The Alchemist teamed up for an entire new project called VOIR DIRE. It wasn’t the first time they had ever collaborated, in fact, Earl made an appearance on Alc’s Flying High EP earlier this year. Though the project was short, fans were pretty excited for it as both names are pretty beloved in the underground rap scene. Unfortunately, not many people heard the album when it first dropped.

The reason VOIR DIRE went under the radar is because it was originally dropped exclusively on NFT-based music streaming platform Gala. This was met with backlash from fans who didn’t want to make an account on a crypto music website just to hear the album. Thankfully, the pair eventually came through for their fans promising not just that the album would come to streaming, but that it would have new tracks when it did. Those new songs round the album out to 11 tracks and just under half an hour with two features from Vince Staples and another from MIKE. Check out the entire album tracklist below.

Starting tonight, Earl and The Alchemist are going on tour in support of the album. They’re playing a series of 11 shows this month stopping all across the country alongside MIKE and Black Noi$e.

Earl Sweatshirt has been playing shows on his own all year. During one now notorious August show he teased fans in attendance with a Frank Ocean appearance, which obviously didn’t end up happening. Jay-Z And His Mother Were Among The Honorees At Brooklyn Library Gala

Jay-Z has continued to represent New York and Brooklyn in particular as much as anyone. For all the love he’s shown his hometown over the years, it’s paying him back. Recently the Brooklynn Public Library hosted a Gala where both Jay and his mother Dr. Gloria Carter were honored. He was introduced by NYC Mayor Eric Adams and gave a speech that had fans both in person and online cracking up.

“I figured if these young men could speak on behalf of their dad, I could speak on behalf of my mom. Dr. Gloria had to see a doctor earlier. She’s gonna be very upset that I told y’all that. She gave me a very bad excuse and I couldn’t do it and lie to the good people of Brooklyn,” Jay-Z opened his speech to laughs in the room. That wasn’t even the only hilarious line he delivered about his mother. “I think she’s hungover. There’s no other way to put it. Over the weekend, Jay-Z hosted an event of his own. It was a high-roller James Bond-themed casino party with a stacked celebrity guest list. The party was a charity event seeking to raise money for criminal justice reform through the REFORM Alliance. They achieved a pretty lofty goal of raising $24 million to donate to the charity.

One name who wasn’t at the casino event was Beyonce. Jay-Z’s own wife missed the event but had a pretty good reason. She had just wrapped up the final show on her Renaissance tour. The massive tour concluded the night before the casino event so it’s hard to blame her for missing out.
