According to several confirmed reports, rapper Flo RIda won a $82 million lawsuit yesterday(January 18) against Celsius Energy Drinks over cash payments and stock options that were never paid as a part of his endorsement deal.

According to Forbes Magazine, “over $27 million of the damages represent 250,000 shares in Celsius the rapper said he was owed by the company.” Also, the jury said that Celsius not only breached their contract with the “Low” rapper from 2014, but that the company went the extra mile to conceal their breach of contract.

He’s entitled to 500,000 shares of stock via the contract, and entitled to 250,000 shares of stock if certain things happen—one of those yardsticks is that a certain number of units of products need to be sold, but unfortunately the contract doesn’t specify which type of unit—is it a box, is it a drink? And there’s no timeframe or deadline,” Flo Rida’s lawyer John Uustal said to reporters.

Flo Rida Sipped Celsius After Winning $82 Million In His Lawsuit Against The Energy Drink

Flo Rida kicked off 2023 with a lawsuit. Suing the energy drink brand Celsius, the rapper accused the company of breach of contract, unpaid royalties, exclusion from stock options, and more during their partnership. “Even Celsius’ top management publicly recognized that the partnership between Flo Rida and Celsius accelerated the introduction of the Celsius brand to millions around the world and allowed Celsius to finally succeed at new levels,” the lawsuit read.

It was reported today, January 18, that the “Low” rapper has come out of the lawsuit victorious, winning a whopping $82 million. And he had the perfect reaction: “I just want to say God is good, in Jesus name,” he said in court, before sipping a can of Celsius.

“This was a long journey, but we prevailed. From the start I only wanted what I worked for, nothing more, nothing less,” Flo Rida said to reporters outside the courtroom, per NBC 6. “I gained a new respect for the judicial system, most importantly, and I just want to say God bless America.”

There have been quite a few headlines about this case, including the time several of his songs were played in the courtroom and prompted the rapper to bob his head while jurors reportedly were mouthing the words.

Flo Rida Wins $82 Mil In Lawsuit Against Celsius: Report

We’re sure Flo Rida is somewhere celebrating his court win today. The rapper took Celsius energy drink to court after he claimed they owed him money and stock options. It was reported that the company linked with Flo Rida for an endorsement deal. However, in the end, he said he didn’t receive what was promised.

Forbes reports the deal first emerged in 2014, but it was later renewed in 2016. However, the lawsuit was filed in 2021 because the rapper didn’t allegedly receive the promised stock options or bonuses.

Forbes writes that as far as the bonuses were concerned, they were only given if Celsius reached a sales quota. Yet, it was argued that these achievements weren’t clarified, so he couldn’t receive the bonuses.

“He’s entitled to 500,000 shares of stock via the contract, and entitled to 250,000 shares of stock if certain things happen,” attorney John Uustal also revealed to Insider. “One of those yardsticks is that a certain number of units of products need to be sold, but unfortunately the contract doesn’t specify which type of unit—is it a box, is it a drink? And there’s no timeframe or deadline.”

Flo Rida’s Hits Gave The Courtroom Energy During His Testimony Against Celsius

Flo Rida is suing fitness drink company Celsius for over $30,000, claiming breach of contract, unpaid royalties, exclusion from stock options, and more. The lawsuit states, “Even Celsius’ top management publicly recognized that the partnership between Flo Rida and Celsius accelerated the introduction of the Celsius brand to millions around the world and allowed Celsius to finally succeed at new levels.”

The rapper is known for having a good time, and he has managed to bring that energy into the courtroom. As they played a snippet of his 2015 hit “My House,” he bobbed his head along to the rhythm. Afterward, he said, “I can perform better than I can talk,” prompting laughter from the room.

He couldn’t hold himself back when they played a clip of “Low” either. According to Miami New Times, some jurors were mouthing the words to the song.

The legal team for Celsius attempted to object to the playing of “Right Round.” The judge overruled them, and when asked about the popularity of the song, Flo Rida said that “just about everybody will know this record.” He bobbed his head some more, looking like he desperately wanted to start singing along. The video, of course, went viral on TikTok.

Flo Rida Is Suing Celsius For Over $30,000 For Breach Of Contract And More

Flo Rida is always thriving. Since the release of his hit “Low,” which he wrote in less than an hour, he’s been unstoppable. His success has brought him many opportunities, including a partnership with the energy drink brand Celsius. However, it looks like that went south.

According to Vibe, the rapper’s team is suing Celsius for breach of contract, unpaid royalties, exclusion from stock options, and more. They’re seeking over $30,000 in damages because of a breach in 2014 and 2016 when they had endorsement agreements. His team claims the company didn’t honor the guaranteed royalties and stock options.

“Even Celsius’ top management publicly recognized that the partnership between Flo Rida and Celsius accelerated the introduction of the Celsius brand to millions around the world and allowed Celsius to finally succeed at new levels,” the lawsuit reads.

About collaboration, Flo Rida said in a 2017 interview with Uproxx, “I’m always looking to be innovative. Looking for that new person that is as passionate as I am about the music. First and foremost, hats off to all the artists that I’ve worked with going back to my first album, from Lil Wayne to T-Pain and all the DJs like DJ Montay who did the “Low” record. Working with Will.i.am, working with Timbaland, Birdman, the list goes on.”
