Russ & 6LACK Are Looking To Improve Themselves With “Workin On Me”

Russ and 6LACK are two longstanding names that can rap or sing at any given moment. Both have a true identity and have carved out niches in the crowed R&B space. This weekend, Russ and 6LACK are working together for the first time on a single called “Workin On Me.” It is a track all about the struggles of self-improvement.

The Secaucus, New Jersey native seems to be on a relationship/introspective kick, based on the pattern of his last few releases. “I Got You,” “Work This Out” with DJ Premier, “In The Dirt,” and “Drives” are in that similar realm. For 6LACK, this is his most recent work since his feature on Strick’s “COME ALIVE,” which dropped in early April. Additionally, the Baltimore, Maryland native dropped a three-pack, No More Lonely Nights in March.

According to The Source, this song had been in development for a little over a year. The backstory for how this song came to be is also quite interesting, as Russ explains it. “I made this song a little over a year ago and didn’t have a second verse on it. I included a snippet of the song on my fan voting platform and it was voted in the top 3,” he said. He then mentioned that he, “sent 6lack the song to jump on and he killed it.” Additionally, this track comes with some exciting news, “We’re going on an arena tour this summer,” said Russ.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Workin On Me” by Russ and 6LACK? Who had the strongest performance on the track? Should these two collaborate more often in the future, why or why not? Is this one of Russ’ better releases as of late? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. You holdin’ us up like a beam, I’m sorry

Ray J & Sukihana Drop Spacey Strip Club Anthem “THROWING STACKS”

Ray J and Sukihana have been connected to each other for the last month or two as both artists are rumored to be a couple. Ever since the veteran’s tumultuous relationship with Princess Love came to a close, the Mississippi native has been exploring his options. Sukihana has also not been committed to anyone for about two years. So, with the two on the dating market and their recent hang outs well documented, there is a chance that they could be a pair. These rumors have also been discussed frequently because of a project they are working on. Ray J and Suki are developing a Tronix Music short film titled Hangover 69.

To help promote it, the duo also hinted a track accompanying it called “THROWING STACKS.” Well, that offering is now here, and it is raunchy, if that was not going to be obvious already. Anything Sukihana hops on is almost always going to be something vulgar and that is the case here. “THROWING STACKS” is a certified stripper’s anthem, especially with thumping bass, finger snaps, and spacey atmosphere.

Listen To “THROWING STACKS” By Ray J & Sukihana

Sukihana raps in great detail about her usual topics, but in a softer tone with loads of auto-tune. While it is not as memorable or unhinged, it does fit the vibe of the song. Ray J also puts forth a fine performance, but overall, it is nothing special. Still, give the track a spin with the links above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “THROWING STACKS” by Ray J and Sukihana? Is this one of his stronger releases as of late, why or why not? Do you think that this is a hint that him and the Delaware rapper are officially a fling? Would you want to hear them collaborate again in the future? Bobby Shmurda Works With Newcomer Eli For R&B Cut “On Something”

There were so many people on the Bobby Shmurda hype train back in the mid 2010s. A great deal of hip-hop fans were infatuated with arguably his two best tracks “Hot N****” and “Bobby B****.” However, all of that excitement for the Miami, Florida native went out the window in a hurry after his infamous prison sentence. He was handcuffed for weapons and conspiracy charges for the longest seven years and his return was a bright spot for the genre in 2021. Since being reinstated into society, the 29-year-old rapper has released two full-length projects and a bevy of singles. However, he has not been able to recapture that magic for about 10 years now.

It is clear that Bobby Shmurda is still struggling with songs like “On Something” coming down the pipeline. This is his fifth feature of the year, as he joins a new face to the R&B space, who goes by Eli. In fact, this is the latter’s first-ever release on streaming platforms. It is evident as well because this is perhaps one of the most forgettable songs we have heard all year.

Listen To “On Something” By Bobby Shmurda & Eli

Eli has a painfully boring and generic auto-tuned singing voice that sounds outdated. It is especially unbearable when he goes into his upper register. As for Bobby, his flow is equally boring and sleepy. Unfortunately, there are just no redeeming qualities to this track.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “On Something” by Eli and Bobby Shmurda? Is this one of his stronger features as of late, why or why not? Do you think Eli has what it takes to make it in music? Would you want to hear them collaborate again in the future? YTB Fatt Taps Rylo Rodriguez For The Moody & Melodic “In The Air”

YTB Fatt for the last year and change has been putting in the work to separate himself from the crowded Memphis rap scene. His cadence is a fairly unique twist on the husky and intimidating deliveries we are accustomed to from the city. Additionally, he possesses a solid ear for instrumentals, as shown with his single “Brazi Blue Cheese” back in March. He usually goes for extremely dark and murderous tones that are synonymous with the current trap scene. Fatt especially has a fondness for beats that include heavy piano keys, but on his latest single, he is going for a slightly different approach.

On “In The Air,” YTB Fatt opts for the traditional Southern hip-hop sound, while throwing in a looping guitar riff that weaves in and out. His close collaborator, klutchfrenchie, is credited once again as the producer this time around. However, YTB is teaming up with a new face as well for this single as well. This time, the up-and-coming star is hitting the booth with Alabama MC, Rylo Rodriguez.

His one-of-a-kind cadence adds some extra emotion to the already moody and melodic cut, so he was a perfect get for this one. “In The Air” supersedes a plethora of singles from YTB. 2024 looks to be another loaded year, as this comes after “I Luv U,” “Brazi Blue Cheese,” “Same,” “Backstabbin,” and “One Mo.” Not to mention, he has been active with his feature output too, linking with OT7 Quanny and DeeBaby, for example. Be sure to check out this new cut with the link above.

Camila Cabello & Lil Nas X Provide A Much-Improved Offering With “HE KNOWS”

About a month and a half ago, Cuban pop sensation and former Fifth Harmony figure Camila Cabello had fans severely divided. The 27-year-old dropped the lead single for her upcoming fourth solo effort C,XOXO, “I LUV IT.” It was a head-scratcher for a lot of people, to put it lightly. Her repetitive and frankly annoying chorus, mixed with the hodge podge of an instrumental were harsh on the ears. Additionally, the track had a Playboi Carti feature that was out of place. Simultaneously, it has gone on to easily be his worst feature of the year so far. This time around, Camila Cabello looks to right the ship with “HE KNOWS.”

For us, this song far and away is of higher quality than “I LUV IT” in a multitude of ways. Instrumentally, the rhythm that we are accustomed to from a Cabello track is back. It is groovy, as well as dizzying, but in a good way. There are some hypnotic background vocals from what we assume are from her as well. Vocally, Camila does not come off sounding like a spoiled brat, which is how we would describe her delivery on “I LUV IT.”

Then, the feature, which is provided by Lil Nas X, is also an improvement. It is more fun, animated, and honestly quite hilarious. It still may not be for everyone, but it is far more memorable in comparison to Carti. Camila Cabello is set to drop C,XOXO June 28 and the single cover art you see above is supposed to be the LP’s artwork as well. Be sure to check out “HE KNOWS” with the video link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “HE KNOWS” by Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X? Do you this offering is better than “I LUV IT” with Playboi Carti, why or why not? Who had the stronger performance on this cut? Does this have you excited for her fourth solo album, C,XOXO? Post Malone Hints At A New Artistic Direction With “I Had Some Help” Featuring Morgan Wallen

There is no denying the star power that Post Malone possesses. No matter what genre he decides to dabble in, the Texas native always draws a crowd to anything he is attached to. Of course, fans of hip-hop and R&B were the first to discover his talents in the latter half of the 2010s decade with his breakout hit “White Iverson.” From there, he continued to evolve, and over the last year, Posty has begun to distance himself from the sound that put him on the map. This year has seen him collaborate with Beyonce for her take on country and bluegrass, COWBOY CARTER.

Now, Post Malone is trying his hand in the same playing field, but this time as the lead act on “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen. According to Genius, this is the lead single for Austin Post’s full-on country album, which does not have a release date or title. According to Billboard, this song was previewed a handful of times over the last month or so. Once on Post’s social media platforms, as well as a live performance alongside the country superstar at Stagecoach, a country music festival in Indio, CA.

These two have been friends for some time now, so even though this is a first-time collab, it makes a lot of sense. On “I Had Some Help,” they are dealing with a breakup, but in this case, the singers are throwing their ladies under the bus. While Post and Morgan are taking accountability for them splitting up with their partners, they feel that each side is to blame. Be sure to check out the relationship cut with the links above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen? Do you like Post Malone going in a country direction for his next album, why or why not? Kevin Abstract & Lil Nas X Break Out Their Previously Teased Collaboration “Tennessee”

Did you ever expect to hear Lil Nas X and Kevin Abstract of BROCKHAMPTON fame on one track? Well, we certainly did not have that on our bingo card going into 2024, but here we are. Two of the more prominent figures in the LGBTQ+ hip-hop community are teaming up for what appears to be the beginning of another album rollout for Kevin. Late last year, he made his solo return after four years with his indie record Blanket.

Now, according to Genius, the Texas singer and rapper will be coming through with a project with the rumored title being glue. It does not have a release date, other than it is expected sometime this year. This alleged lead single “Tennessee” sees Kevin Abstract and Lil Nas X fully embracing their homosexuality and how their partners love all that comes with them. The raunchy track was produced by Kevin and Quadeca as well.

Childish Gambino Sends Fans Into A Frenzy With Electric Kanye West Teaser

Childish Gambino is getting ready to feed his starving fans in a big way very soon. The Georgia rapper and singer has been busy in Hollywood with acting roles lately, but new music will be coming up next. Just last week, he teased several new tracks off his upcoming reimagining of his last record 3.15.20 called Atavista. He did so during a GILGA Radio livestream last Sunday, and fans were having a blast hearing what he has been cooking up. Last night, Childish Gambino did the same thing again last night, and this time, a Kanye West collaboration was the highlight of the evening.

Accounts on X (formerly Twitter) were constantly resharing the audio clip and everyone is in agreement that it sounds fire. The snippet starts out with only Gambino rapping before revealing Kanye just seconds later. Production wise it sounds extremely familiar to a previous Ye record. The industrial and electronic beat would have fit snuggly on his 2013 experiment that was Yeezus.

Childish Gambino & Kanye West Are Flowing!

Childish was definitely not afraid to share most of the song, as the preview went on for nearly three minutes. At point, the two creative masterminds even trade bars back and forth, and they display some great chemistry during that stretch. If this officially sees the light of day, it will mark their first song together. Gambino has been on the record before saying that Kanye is still his G.O.A.T. rapper (greatest of all time), so this is truly a full circle moment.

What are your thoughts on Childish Gambino and Kanye West collaborating for his upcoming album? Does this sound like something that would have landed on Yeezus? Taylor Swift & Post Malone Harmonize Beautifully On “Fortnight”

We do not typically do this sort of thing, but today we are covering some new Taylor Swift music! So, come one, come all Swifties. The Pennsylvania pop phenom has just left off her 11th album called THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT as of April 18. However, Swift stunned and most likely sent her die-hards into a frenzy when she revealed overnight that this was a “secret double album.” That is why there now two version available for streaming, with the elongated version being called THE ANTHOLOGY.

She tweeted out, “I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours. 🤍 As you can imagine, the Swifties are running up the streams and plays across all platforms. “Fortnight” with Post Malone is already one the album’s most tuned into tracks and for good reason. The opener has a lot of possible secret callbacks to past relationships and flings, as Genius has so astutely researched and theorized.

Listen To “Fortnight” By Taylor Swift & Post Malone

If you want a further lyrical breakdown, check out the link below. As for the song itself, “Fortnight” is a moody, soft, and smoky introduction to the LP. Jack Antonoff, one of Taylor’s most frequent producers, lays down some incredibly pretty synths that give it an 80s vibe. Post Malone chips in subtly with background vocals, but they add so much to the track. This first team-up goes over very well and it figures to be one the record’s strongest cuts.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Fortnight” by Taylor Swift and Post Malone? Should they continue their work relationship moving forward, why or why not? Should Post have had more glaring contributions or did the background vocals work? How are you feeling about Swift’s new album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY? The Kid LAROI & Lil Yachty Are Acting Petty On “HATRED”

The Kid LAROI continues to tease the deluxe for THE FIRST TIME with a new single called “HATRED.” This is now the second promotional track that is expected to be a part of it when it drops sometime this year. The Australian native dropped his debut album back in November 2023 with some massive tracks on it. “TOO MUCH” with Central Cee and Jung Kook continues to the lead way with over 127 million streams.

“HATRED” follows a familiar theme for LAROI, as he raps about a past relationship. In this instance, the split has led to become driven to boss up. He also mentions how he was too good for her, even though the woman does not want to think so. “Okay, remind you, I’m the most hated / Talkin’ down on me online but in real life, you know I’m your favorite / If you were to write me a thank you letter, it’d be long as the motherf***in’ yellow pages.”
