Last night, NYC and the Tri-State area packed the Barclays Center for Future and Metro Boomin’s New York stop on their We Trust You Tour.

The great weather brought out a capacity crowd to the downtown Brooklyn venue and the show couldn’t start on time because the people just kept coming. About an hour and a half after the scheduled start, the lights dimmed and Metro took the mic to let the people know that they were going to experience a performance unlike any other.

As Metro dimmed the lights and asked everyone to turn omn the lights to their phones, the smoke emitted from the front, leading to the anticipation of “King Tito” entering the stage. Jumping into hits from his 2017 self titled album before bringing out his friends from Brookjlyn.

Lola Brooke was the first to hit the stage and perform her smash “Don’t Play Wit’ It”, which was the perfect intro for Brooklyn favorites Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, who came out for two tracks, including their street anthem “Everything Lit”. NYC favorite Cash Cobain was the next guest to grace the stage with his hit “For Sure”, which features Bronx rap princess Ice Spice. No Brookly show would be complete without “mr. “Big Drip” himself Fivio Foreign, who dropped a few of his classics, including his NYC anthem “City Of Gods”.

Metro and Future returned to the stage after. wardrobe change to perform the hottest tracks from their two 2024 collaboration projects, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, which were the catalysts for this expansive 27-city tour. After the special guest appearance of McDonald’s character Grimace earning them the name “GriMets”, who would’ve thought that the Amazins’ could come up with another viral sensation on the baseball field? Well, the Mets have introduced another unconventional personality that is totally unrelated to baseball. Sort of.

Hailey Welch, the real life spitballer who went viral for her “Hawk Tuah” comment about oral sex, took the mound at Citi Field to throw out the first pitch for the Mets game against the Oakland A’s yesterday.

The 22-year-old Tennessee native rose to fame on social media when a street interview of her saying “hawk tuah” to describe oral sex went viral.

Mets fans and critics alike were confused as to why the Mets chose Welch to throw out the first pitch, but it must have been abad look for the Mets, who lost to the AL West last place A’s 7-6.

Jay-Z Plans to Reopen 40/40 Club in New York City, Eyes 2025 Launch

CopsCalledonBlackManforSingingJAY Z's'Problems'

After closing the doors of his iconic 40/40 Club in New York City last year, Jay-Z is gearing up for a grand revival of the legendary nightlife spot that had NYC in a chokehold in the early 2000’s. The rapper and entrepreneur is planning to reopen the club at a new location in the city, with a launch expected in 2025.

The original 40/40 Club, which became a cultural landmark in Manhattan, closed in August 2023 after 20 years in operation. However, Jay-Z’s vision for the club didn’t end there. According to Us Weekly, the 40/40 Club is now preparing for a reimagined pop-up at Fanatics Fest in New York City this weekend, offering a glimpse of what’s to come when the full-time location opens next year.

“It’s always been the plan to open a new spot,” said Sheldon Robinson, the 40/40 Club’s vice president of operations, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. “Finding the right location that makes sense to the brand is key, and that takes some time. We’ve narrowed it down to our last few choices and now we’re in the negotiation phase.”

Robinson expressed optimism about the club’s progress, noting that the team hopes to have a lease signed by the end of the year. “Hopefully by the end of this year we’ll have a lease signed and we can break ground. The idea is that we’ll have a club in 2025,” he added.

The new club is set to be located somewhere in New York City, continuing the legacy of the original venue, which was known for its luxury, exclusivity, and connection to the hip-hop community. Jay-Z has been deeply involved in the project, ensuring that the new location embodies the same spirit that made the 40/40 Club a staple of the city’s nightlife.

“Jay definitely wants to keep it as part of his legacy,” Robinson shared, confirming that the rapper has been “very involved” in the process. Jay-Z has personally visited site locations and participated in meetings as the vision for the future club takes shape.

As fans eagerly await the return of the 40/40 Club, the upcoming pop-up at Fanatics Fest is set to offer a taste of what’s in store. With Jay-Z’s dedication to creating an unforgettable experience, the reopening of the 40/40 Club promises to be a major event in New York’s nightlife scene.

For now, the anticipation builds as the iconic venue prepares to write the next chapter in its storied history, continuing to be a part of Jay-Z’s enduring legacy.

Usher Postpones Shows on ‘Past Present Future’ Tour Due to Neck Injury

UsherTeases'Confessions'

R&B superstar Usher has announced the postponement of several shows on his highly anticipated “Past Present Future” tour after suffering a neck injury during rehearsals. The artist, who had already canceled his opening night concert on August 14, took to Instagram on Thursday to share that he’s rescheduling his first three Atlanta dates to allow more time for recovery.

“Earlier this week, I suffered an injury to my neck while rehearsing to provide my fans with the greatest Usher show of all time,” Usher wrote in his post. “My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night. Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.”

Despite the setback, Usher reassured fans that with appropriate rest and treatment, he should be ready to resume the tour in Washington, D.C., on August 20. “I love my fans and thank you for understanding that this injury must be healed so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from an Usher show,” he added. “I will be on stage in your city very soon.”

The rescheduled Atlanta shows will now take place at State Farm Arena on December 9, 10, and 12, instead of the originally planned August 14, 16, and 17. Usher initially postponed his first show, citing the need to “give my body a second to rest and heal,” though he did not disclose the nature of his injury at the time.

Reflecting on his decision to delay the tour, Usher expressed his commitment to delivering an unforgettable experience for his fans. “For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat, and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present, and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date, but you’ll also be getting 100% of me.”

The postponement marks a rare pause in what has been a whirlwind few years for Usher. The singer headlined the 2024 Super Bowl earlier this year and wrapped up his 100-show “My Way” Las Vegas residency in December 2023. The “Past Present Future” tour, which includes stops across North America and Europe, is set to run through May 2025.

While fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Usher perform in Atlanta, the artist’s commitment to delivering a top-notch show remains a priority. As Usher continues to recover, fans can rest assured that when he does take the stage, it will be with the same energy, passion, and excellence that has defined his career for over three decades.

Tyler, the Creator Issue Apology For Criticizing Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ Album

image

Tyler, the Creator has been super vocal lately. The eclectic artist recently reflected on his past criticism of Eminem’s 2010 album “Recovery”, where he expressed regret for what some consider harsh words. During the mea culpa, he acknowledged his “limited” perspective at the time.

Okay so when did he pull a J. Cole? Sorry we had to say it. In a conversation with Mav Carter for the Mavericks series, Tyler dished that his love and respect for rap, highlighting how it transformed his life and those around him.

Get this, when Eminem’s name came up, Tyler recalled his initial reaction to “Recovery”. “Eminem put out this album called “Recovery”, 2010,” he said. “I was a big Eminem fan, and when that album came out, I fucking hated it. Hated it. Publicly was like, ‘this shit is wack.’ Didn’t like it.”

Tyler went on to breakdown how watching a Netflix series about the opioid crisis changed his perspective. Okay … So, it made him realize the significance of Eminem’s journey to sobriety during the creation of that album. “I felt so bad about those tweets and things like that because thinking from his perspective, someone like me publicly saying that stuff and him getting off drugs and being clean and getting to a point in his life that that’s behind him. … He probably felt like I was attacking him.”

In fairness, Tyler has always admired Eminem’s work, and their paths have crossed over the years. In 2011, Tyler met Eminem backstage, and in 2014, he and Odd Future opened for Em at stadium shows.

Despite a brief period of tension when Eminem dissed Tyler on the track “Fall” from “Kamikaze”, Eminem later expressed regret for his approach. That was dope tbh.

During the chat, Tyler admitted that he thought he was merely stating his opinion about the music back in 2010. However, he now recognizes how “Recovery” represented a pivotal moment in Eminem’s life. “He was in a different part of his life and probably felt like I was attacking him,” Tyler said. “Now I feel so bad about saying stuff because my perspective was so limited. And I love him. That dude taught me how to rap. I learned how to put words together in rhythm because of some of the Eminem stuff I was hearing and storytelling and things like that.”

Tyler concluded by saying he’d like to apologize to Eminem in real life: “I felt terrible, and if I ever see him, I wanna tell him that in person.”

Cool. Now that’s done, let’s hope they both have closure. On to the next crisis.

And I heard qualifying for the Olympics is 77 feet and I practice at 90 [feet].”

He reasonably criticized the so called slew of performances, saying, “I did not like that. It’s so many great breakdancers, I don’t know why they had this particular person doing that,” seemingly referring to Australian breaker Raygun, who went viral after her moves earned zero points. “It was funny, I got some laughs out of it, but what the f””k? There are incredible breakdancers out right now. I don’t know how that happened.”

We don’t know what happened either. Especially with that one with the “gun” name. Like, huh?
