R&B singer Tyrese Gibson has been slapped with a $10 million defamation of character lawsuit for comments made on The Breakfast Club. Tyrese Gibson is being sued by a director over negative statements he made about him on ‘The Breakfast Club. The ‘Sweet Lady’ singer is being sued by Bryan Barber for defamation, and libel for $10,000,000.
According to legal documents, Barber is claiming the actor made inaccurate and defamatory statements about him during a September 7th appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”
Barker claimed that the “Baby Boy” actor attacked his “character and reputation” during the episode by stating, “Barber took Gibson’s [interview] footage and refused to give it back; Gibson paid [Barber] $35,000.00 total to film the interview footage; and Barber also stole footage from two other public figures – Big Boi and Dallas Austin.”
The filmmaker recalled he was hired by Gibson back in 2019, to conduct and edit a sitdown interview of him with Charlamagne Tha God. Gibson’s ex-wife, Samantha Lee, would be sitting with the actor during the filming.
Barber, the CEO and founder of Pivot Originals — a video streaming platform — says his company would provide cameras, lights, and editing following the filming for Gibson.
Gibson and Barker agreed that the interview would be filmed over a day and both parties “would split (on a 50/50 basis) the revenue derived from the streaming and/or other distribution.” However, that wasn’t the case as Gibson requested a second day of shooting under the guise of wanting a “‘B-Roll’ footage of Gibson spending time with his wife and their newborn daughter.”
As for Gibson’s claim about Barber refusing to release the interview footage, the music video director claimed the actor’s management specifically instructed him not to release any portion of the interview to protect the reputation of the “Fast 9” star.
“Gibson refused to adhere to the previous 50/50 revenue split that he and Barber previously negotiated for the CTG Interview,” the document reads.
Tyrese proceeded to mention the situation on an appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club’ claiming Barker was holding the footage hostage. In the interview, Gibson claims he spent $35,000 on it, and Barker will not release it.
Now, Barker claims those defamatory statements, and Gibson knew that “the success of Pivot Originals hinges largely on establishing and maintaining trust with original content creators.” Nevertheless, he made those remarks, knowing they weren’t true.
Barber is asking for damages in the amount of no less than $10,000,000, claiming the statements constituted slander per se to injuring his profession as a director (and editor/producer) and his business.
Grammy Award winning singer / songwriter Ne-Yo is still in a bitter child support battle with the mother of his two youngest sons, Sade Bagnerise. After questioning if Sade’s second child belonged to him, it was revealed that it was his child. Now Ne-Yo wants a gag order on the case. He feels it would be in the best interest of his children to seal information about his finances, the location of his homes, the amount of child support he will be paying and the entire settlement agreement.

Ne-Yo asked the court to order that his ex Sade Bagnerise not be allowed to speak about their court battle publicly — days before he was found to be the biological father of her 2 sons, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Ne-Yo [real name: Shaffer Smith] pleaded for a confidentiality order and for certain filings to be sealed in his paternity lawsuit.
Last week, the court declared Ne-Yo was the legal father to the 2 children.
RadarOnline.com has obtained the motion that Ne-Yo filed days before the development. He said he is an “international recording artist” which led to the lawsuit being examined closely.
Ne-Yo argued it would be in the best interest of his children to seal information about his finances, the location of his homes, the amount of child support he will be paying and the entire settlement agreement.
Further, he asked that Sade be prohibited from, “discussing the proceedings and any aspect of the proceedings in the media to include but not limited to social media, print media, internet, radio, and or television media in further directives held under the Domestic Relations Standing Order.”
Recently, Offset unveiled the tracklist for his eagerly-awaited upcoming album, Set It Off. The project includes several high-profile features from the likes of Travis Scott, Latto, Future, Don Toliver, and more. Of course, Offset’s partner Cardi B also makes a couple appearances. As expected, the tracklist only worked to build more anticipation for the release, which is just a few days away. Set It Off will drop on October 13, 2023.

Offset’s teased a few of his collabs in recent weeks, including one with Playboi Carti reportedly titled “Rock Out.” The energetic track doesn’t appear on the tracklist for Set It Off, however, and fans had questions.
For obvious reasons, listeners were pretty disappointed that the collab was scrapped. This led to some speculation online that Carti’s team was behind the whole thing. Offset fueled the gossip when he liked a comment from a user claiming that Carti didn’t clear the feature, seemingly confirming their theories. Now, he’s officially revealed the reason behind the missing collab, and it turns out that fans were right.
During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Offset explained that Carti didn’t clear the feature. Despite it being a let-down since the song’s such a banger, Offset insists he doesn’t have any hard feelings for his collaborator. The performer says that he respects Playboi Carti’s decision, and didn’t try to push him to clear it. “It’s all love though, it’s my lil bro,” he described. “I’m like trying to move forward, it’s cool. With news of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith being officially separated, Jada is revealing a bit more details about her love life. Speaking with PEOPLE, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed while rumors swirled of her divorce from the Bad Boys star, Chris Rock called her and asked her on a date.
“He called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?,’” Jada Pinkett Smith said.

DJ Envy is being highlighted for supporting a real estate venture promoted by Cesar Pina, which is now being ousted as a scheme.
According to NBC New York, DJ Envy used his position on The Breakfast Club on iHeartRadio to promoe the scheme, which included seminars promoting the flipping of properties in underprivileged areas of New Jersey.
In testament to the nature of the sceme was Jose Santiago and his wife who claimed they wanted to invest in real estate in order to support a positive future for their children. After investing $200,000, their hopes and dreams appear to be gone.
The couple beleived they would invest in run down properties to renovate and flip, using equity from their Florida home as start up money. Sadly, they never saw a dollar. Another man, Nigel Chamblin stated $235K in one property, and an additional $300K in two others.
”There were other people investing in these exact same properties,” Chamblin said. ”It was a scam, it was a lie.”
DJ Envy also states he lost half a million dollars, with his lawyer stating he is also a victim.He is contending daily with cases that are being filed improperly against him,” Massimo D’Angelo, Envy’s attorney, said.
Charlamagne Tha God wants y’all to lay off Drake a little bit. With The Boy’s For All the Dogs album currently the hottest thing in the streets and heavily criticized, Tha God offered some perspective.
“I do think the criticism is slightly unfair though because this is the same Drake music that he’s been putting out for at least the last five, six years,” Charlamagne said. “What’s the difference between this album and the album with 21 that he dropped last year.”
Previously, Charlamagne Tha God says we all fell for a trick that he and Drake conjure up every time The Boy is getting ready to release music. After being blasted by Drake on Instagram, Charlamagne states it was all a plan.
“I told y’all yesterday that Drake and I plan these things every time he drops certain records,” Drake said. “He wants me to hate on them because all noise is great noise nowadays.”
He added, “And I told y’all the play but nobody believes me ’cause I’m lying. But you should believe me even when I’m lying.”

Several reports have confirmed that Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour, his first official tour since his Astroworld Tour that ended in tragedy two years ago, is now facing adversity as ticket sales for Circus Maximus has dropped, despite the first sell out and the additional dates added to the tour.
Some cities have advertised the tickets as low as $7 per person.
The tour’s inaugural stop in Charlotte, NC saw tickets available in pairs for $7, while the Ticketmaster price was originally $109.50 in the same section. These prices are allegedly what’s listed at upcoming tour stops, including Raleigh, NC and Oakland, California.
No dates have been cancelled or postponed due to the ticket sales, with dates scheduled until December 29 in Toronto.
