Travis Kelce’s Ex Fed Up with Taylor Swift Fans: Leave Me Alone

Screen Shot 2024 04 21 at 8.33.59 AM

Kayla Nicole, the gorgeous ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, has found herself at the center of social media storm once again. This time due to her ex’s new flame, none other than the pop sensation Taylor Swift.

Page Six recently reported on Kayla Nicole’s public response to what she perceives as cyberbullying from Taylor Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties.” In a series of tweets, the 32-year-old model expressed her frustration with the constant barrage of negativity directed towards her online.

Screen Shot 2024 04 21 at 8.28.55 AM

“I’m unproblematic. Mind my business. Never respond to the constant vitriol,” Nicole tweeted. “Solid as they come & don’t expect a pat on the back for it either. Just know everyone has a breaking point & would love for ‘yall’ (because you know exactly who you are) to leave me alone.”

It appears that the alleged hate tweets from Swifties intensified after Nicole shared her thoughts on Beyoncé’s recent album release, expressing her disbelief at the influx of new music to digest. While Nicole’s comments were not explicitly aimed at Swift or her music, some fans interpreted them as subtle shade towards Kelce’s new girlfriend and her upcoming project.

In response to Nicole’s tweet, one Swiftie wrote, “Taylor doesn’t need your streams,” while another commented, “heaux you will always be known as taylor’s boyfriend’s ex worry about that.”

Screen Shot 2024 04 21 at 8.35.21 AM

The situation highlights the toxic side of social media, where passionate supporters of celebrities often engage in online harassment and bullying of individuals associated with their idols. Nicole’s plea for privacy and respect is a reminder that behind the headlines and social media personas, there are real people who are affected by the words and actions of others.

As Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole has undoubtedly faced her fair share of scrutiny and unwarranted attention. Despite the challenges, she remains steadfast in her resolve to rise above the negativity and focus on her own well-being.

Let’s spread love and positivity, both online and offline, and create a culture of kindness and respect in the our community and beyond.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Slick Rick to discuss his exciting collaboration with Pacsun and Roblox:

ONCE UPON A TIME TEE Back 2

Courtney Brown (The Source Magazine): What inspired you to collaborate with Pacsun and Roblox for this immersive virtual experience?

Slick Rick: After meeting everyone at PTTOW last year, it was evident that both brands (Pacsun and Roblox) operate their business from a warm and sacred space. Pacsun is known for its streetwear fashion, which aligns with my core values as it relates to my very unique blend of music and fashion – a win-win and a total natural fit.

ONCE UPON A TIME TEE Back

Courtney Brown: Can you share some insight into the process of translating your iconic style and accessories into digital items for users to interact with in the virtual world?

Slick Rick: Yes, I love to create my own wearable designs and envision my avatar to be dressed in a casual upscale but fashionable outfit. It was all intentional to be wearing a tank top so that the player can actually see me wearing the UGC’s embedded into the game. But I gotta give up the Gang and the designers at Pacsun. They are incredible creators and designers.

SLICK RICK IMAGE TEE Front 2

Courtney Brown: What do you hope new fans will take away from interacting with your avatar?

Slick Rick: Learning and enjoying the art of storytelling and the Slick Rick catalog.

Slick Rick: No, not when I started in music as a teenager. During those formative years, one is in the throws of being young and having fun.

SLICK RICK CHAIN TEE back

Courtney Brown: How does it feel to see your influence extend beyond traditional music platforms into the virtual realm, where users can engage with your legacy in new and innovative ways?

Slick Rick: Hip Hop is the tree and the root of it all, and the branches are an extension of my interests and passions (fashion, storytelling, tech all tied together with the music).

HEY YOUNG WORLD HOODIE back 2

Courtney Brown: Can you tell us about the limited-edition merchandise collection co-created with Pacsun and how it complements the virtual experience while also offering real-life fashion options for fans?

Drake Says He Wanted to Relax After Tour: ‘Now I Gotta Eat Until This Debate is Done’

Drake Dreamville

Drake just wanted to chill. That’s all. In text to Akademiks, Drake revealed he just wanted to come off tour and relax but now he has to beef with the world, which he intends to win.

On a stream, AK read a text Drake sent him. “Ak, you know I was trying to come off tour and relax,” the blogger says the text reads. “”N–gas done f**ked up my whole feng shui. Now I gotta eat until this debate is done.”

Since Kendrick Lamar has yet to respond to “Push Ups,” Drake has gone back to back. Hitting Instagram, The 6ix God dropped off the “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

Upon pressing play you will hear something that you wouldn’t expect, Tupac’s voice. The single opens with an AI Tupac verse requesting KDot stands up for the West Coast. It is followed by an AI Snoop Dogg asking for the same.

AI Tupac raps:
Fuck this Canadian lightskin, Dot
We need an undebated West Coast victory, man
Call him a bitch for me
Talk about him liking young girls, that’s a gift from me
Heard it on the Budden Podcast, it’s gotta be true
They told me the spirit of Makaveli is alive
In the nigga under five-foot five, so it’s gotta be you

AI Snoop added:
‘Cause right now it’s looking like you writing out the game plan on how to lose
How to bark up the wrong tree and then get your head popped in a crowded room
World is watching this chess game, but are you out of moves?

After that, Drake pops in for his own slick talk:
The first one really only took me an hour or two
The next one is really ’bout to bring out the coward in you
But now we gotta wait a fucking week ’cause Taylor Swift is your new Top
And if you ’bout to drop, she gotta approve

Since “Like That,” your tone changed a little, you not as enthused
How are you not in the booth? It feel like you kinda removed
You tryna let this shit die down, nah, nah, nah
Not this time, nigga, you followin’ through

He ends the song with a message, “I know you’re in that NY apartment, you struggling right now I know it.”

You can hear it below.

Today In Hip Hop History: The Source Magazine Remembers The Passing Of Gangstarr’s Guru 14 Years Later

guru gangstarr

On July 17, 1961, Keith Edward Elam was born into this world in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Sadly, 14 years ago today the late, great MC Guru lost his battle with melanoma, a form of cancer. April 19, 2010, was a tragic day for Hip Hop heads worldwide because we lost a true emcee and all-around great human being.

Guru started his career off in 1987. He relocated to the Hip Hop mecca New York City, where he founded Gang Starr. In 1989 with three records and no real blip on Hip Hop’s radar Guru switched up producers and began working with DJ Premier. After that, it was a wrap. The duo released its first LP “No More Mr. Nice Guy” with Wild Pitch records and six more critically acclaimed albums followed.

Premier and Guru made for a perfect combination. Guru’s uniquely monotone delivery and storytelling ability, combined with Premier’s punctuating, soulful production inspired some of the dopest verses in Hip Hop history. The Source ranked Guru as the #30 Best Emcee of Our Time.

Guru’s recording career was one of the most fruitful amongst his peers; with six classic albums released by the duo Gang Starr, all of which were praised by critics and beloved by the streets Guru also released 10 albums without Premier. 16 projects from any artist are impressive, and as an emcee, it’s almost unheard of.

Guru and Premier will go down as one of the most prolific duos in Hip Hop history. They have paved the way for the likes of Atmosphere from Minnesota made up of DJ/Producer Ant and emcee Slug. Today in the fifth year of his passing let us celebrate Guru’s contribution to the beautiful art of Hip Hop. Enjoy the video for “Moment Of Truth”, a classic by Gang Starr.

[WATCH] Dame Dash Says Biggie And Diddy Copied Him And Jay-Z

Screenshot 2024 04 19 at 11.29.26 AM

On the otherwise politically centered PBD Podcast with Patrick Bet-David, former Roc-A-Fella Records CEO Dame Dash claimed that the late Notorious B.I.G. and Diddy, then known as Puff Daddy, were emulating him and Jigga in the mid 90s, which led to friction between the two factions.

“Big was the only person I used to smoke with. I didn’t smoke before at all; we used to drink. Supposedly, Jay and Big went to school together but Jay didn’t know him,” Dash said.

“Because we were getting the money and popping the bottles and all that, in that moment, we had always felt that Biggie and Puffy were copying us. They’d see us in the club and it seemed like the next day, a record would be made.”

“That lifestyle of [a] hustler, that was us. That was them copying us, for sure. So we kinda had problems. I was run up [on] sometimes. I was confrontational with Biggie and them at first, but we finally got cool.”
