Lil Durk Divides Fans With His Dramatic “Deep Thoughts” Album Cover Art

Through the release of “Monitoring Me,” Lil Durk kicked off the rollout for his next album Deep Thoughts, which drops on Friday, October 18. He also shared the cover art with his social media followers: a black-and-white image of the Chicago rapper rising up from open water into the sky, adorned by an almost-fully covered crescent moon. Fan reactions were divisive, with some urging Smurk to get down from his high horse and others finding it to be quite the engaging image. It kind of reflects the overall reception to his music as of late, but he’s never backed down from the washed allegations.

However, some die-hards might be disappointed that Lil Durk isn’t coming out with two brand-new projects soon; just one. He called out a fake tracklist that circulated online for a hypothetical Love Songs 4 The Streets 3. It was quite an eclectic feature list, too: Future, Lil Baby, Rod Wave, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and… Kai Cenat? And iShowSpeed? Like, you know, it’s the series finale… *sighs* it’s coming to an end. At least Power Book II: Ghost. But you know what they say, power never ends. So we shall see. Kendrick Lamar Faces Stingy Criticism For His GRAMMY Submissions

Kendrick Lamar, easily, had one of the strongest years of anyone and it’s all thanks to the evisceration of Drake. The kid from Compton has several of the biggest hip-hop records such as “Not Like Us” and “Like That”. Speaking of those two records, Kendrick Lamar officially sent them in for GRAMMY nomination consideration earlier this week. The dagger in the battle with Drizzy could have a chance to win five categories, including “Record of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Best Rap Performance,” and more. As for his viral feature on the latter, it’s gunning for four of five same awards as the most successful diss record ever.

Despite all of this assumed critical acclaim, there have been quite a lot of overly critical hip-hop fans, most of them being Drake stans (some Lil Wayne fans too). They have continued to claim again and again that he’s only been so relevant this year due to mentioning The Boy. Furthermore, Lamar has received lots of hate for getting the nod to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, as even his MC counterparts have expressed how Weezy deserved it over him.

Twitter Has Mixed Reactions To Hip-Hop Fan’s Take On Kendrick Lamar’s GRAMMY Submissions

So, it’s not a shocker to us at all that the hitmaker is having to hear noise for his GRAMMY submissions. According to a repost from Akademiks TV, a hip-hop fan expresses in a Tik Tok how the award show has been overly dismissive of the genre for years. Essentially, he wonders why, Lamar would actively participate and do it “for the culture.” Some we in agreement, while others feel like it can’t hurt since he’s been so dominant at the show, despite some few robberies in the past.

NLE Choppa is always putting himself in some sort of position to be ridiculed. Whether it be his songs or activity on social media, his ability to get people riled up needs to be studied. For example, just a few weeks ago, he got people on Twitter all wound up over his “I’m Coming Out…” tweet. It turned out to be for a new single, as well as a reveal for a new album and apparel drop. This led to some divide, as some think he’s leveraging his love from the LGBTQ+ community too much. However, one of his baby mommas, Marissa Da’Nae, swooped in to defend his actions.

“He’s not gay, he’s just trolling y’all because y’all think he gay. Or whatever the f***, I don’t know why y’all troll him”. Now, though, it seems Choppa’s controversial behavior is rubbing off on Marissa, at least in the eyes of some online. According to a repost from livebitez, the mother of two of NLE Choppa’s kids hopped on IG Live while tending to their youngest, Chozen Wone. She appears to get some groceries delivered to the house, so she asks her audience to watch him while she’s away for a moment.

When it comes to a Lauryn Hill performance of any kind, you are going to have to expect the unexpected. While health issues are certainly a more than fair reason to put shows on hold, fans are still going to feel some type of way when cancelations become normal. Hill has always been extremely defensive when it comes to this topic, stating that it’s the media obsession with “sensationalism and clickbait headlines”. Additionally, she’s even told fans directly, “Y’all lucky I make it on this… stage every night”. While it certainly is a treat to be able to hear her play her songs in a live setting, the constant delays aren’t going to be able to leave supporters minds that easy.

Just take last night for example in Nairobi, Kenya. Ms. Lauryn Hill was scheduled to hit the stage at the Walker Town festival at 8 p.m. local time. But according to some tweets gathered by AllHipHop, one upset fan said, “Lauryn Hill was supposed to perform at 8 pm in Nairobi and was >4hrs late, finishing her set at 4.30/5.00 am… on a Monday?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”. To be fair, though, her and sound team were forced to deal with horrific technical issues throughout the performance.

On top of that, the soundcheck was not fully completed until hours later. However, it wasn’t just the concertgoers that were voicing their frustrations on Twitter. Residents close to the festivities were not too happy about the fireworks show that still went on after Lauryn’s time on stage. “Those fireworks at that hour on a Monday morning weren’t necessarily #WalkerTownNairobi. 10 whole minutes. I’m not even in #Kasa and they’ve got me spooked”, one tired person said. At this time, Hill has yet to respond to the backlash. Overall, this latest war of words between Offset and Cardi B is not a good look. Both of them are going out of their way to publicly expose some sensitive information about one another. It’s horrible to see a mother and father bashing each other so ruthlessly, and it makes you wonder the kind of home that their kids are growing up in. They are co-parenting, but still, it’s something that should be talked about.

Things started off last night with Cardi B calling Offset needy and provided evidence of said claim with some NSFW texts from him. Latto seems to find herself in some sort of controversy in way or another. Sometimes, it happens without her provoking anything. That is what recently just happened to her, as the Columbus, Ohio born rapper is dealing with another internet troll. According to The Neighborhood Talk, she appeared to be answering some questions from users on Snapchat while in between sets during her workout. Q&A can sometimes be treacherous territory, and that proved to be the case, as one “fan” asked a pretty insensitive question.

“Why tf do yall be showing yall exercising after yall get yall body done?”. Overall, what people decide to do with themselves is their business, especially when it comes to plastic surgery. Lil Uzi Vert fans are seriously fretting once again about the multi-talent’s well-being. The X (Twitter) account of Kurrco reposted a street interview from a fan account of the MC, and their behavior is noticeably off the wall. Right from the beginning, something seems visibly off, as they go on random tangents, mumbles his words, and sometimes hardly answers the questions. For example, Uzi is asked by the interviewer to rate their own outfit from 1-10 and explain what they have on. However, it takes them a minute to give a semblance of an appropriate response. “I’m cooked but I gotta go drop Eternal Atake so I just came to put on anything”.

The interviewer just let it slide, but obviously, that project is a four-year-old release. Uzi starts to settle in a little bit later into the chat, but it hurts to see this. The hope is that they maybe had a little too much to drink or something not too harmful. It is slated to premier on September 26, and while a SZA interview is always something special, fans seem to be more engaged with the promotional poster. The platform posted the preview to their Instagram and in it, she looks like an alien. It’s a pretty creepy sight, but going to back to that overzealous point, some see this as some sort of roll out for LANA. “OMG THE ERA IS STARTING”, one eagerly writes.
