A few days ago, The Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences (aka the Television Academy, the organization behind the Primetime Emmy Awards), shared a list of the “Top 75 Most Impactful Television Moments.” As for how the list was decided, they explained, “In celebration of the Emmy Awards’ 75th Anniversary, we invited Television Academy members to review several hundred programs and news moments submitted by our Peer Group Executive Committees, and to then vote on those they felt have had the greatest impact on the viewing public over the past 75 years.”
Music has long played a major role in TV history, and this new list makes that clear. Two music moments made the top 10: The Beatles’ iconic performance on The Ed Sullivan Show is No. 3, behind only the Apollo 11 moon landing at No. 1 and 9/11 news coverage at No. 2. At No. 9 is the first music video that aired on MTV, The Buggles’ “Video Killed The Radio Star.”
Just outside the top 10, at No. 11, is an Elvis Presley performance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Other notable moments include Live Aid (No. 37); the first season finale of American Idol, which saw Kelly Clarkson named the winner (No. 44); the debut of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video on MTV (No. 48); Justin Timberlake exposing Janet Jackson’s breast during the Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show (No. 61); and Whitney Houston singing the “Star Spangled Banner” before Super Bowl XXV (No. 65).
This list was compiled and shared ahead of the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, which airs tonight (January 15) at 8 p.m. ET (learn how to watch the show here). Ahead of then, check out the full list here.
Anyway, Swift is up for five awards: Female Artist Of The Year, Pop Artist Of The Year, Concert Tour Of The Year (The Eras Tour), Movie Of The Year (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour), and Social Celebrity Of The Year. Kelce, meanwhile, is up for Athlete Of The Year alongside Coco Gauff, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Lionel Messi, Sabrina Ionescu, Simone Biles, and Stephen Curry.
Kelce and Swift are shockingly not nominated for Most Mania-Inducing Celebrity Couple Of The Year, but if that were a category, they would be a surer bet to win than the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Although, to be fair, they are not the only couple sharing People’s Choice Awards nods, as Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are each nominated as well.
The 2024 People’s Choice Awards is scheduled for February 18 at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony will broadcast live beginning at 8 p.m. ET across E!, NBC, and Peacock.

The French Blonde falls into the early aughts resurgence of cocktail culture — the key giveaway is the use of elderflower liqueur St. Germain. Beyond that, the drink is a shaker that’s part Red Head, part Greyhound, and 100% fresh thanks to vibrant grapefruit juice and dry gin. It’s also not to be confused with the Parisian Blonde which is more akin to a Brandy Alexander (so cream-based).
Since this is a new fav of Swift, I thought I’d break down how to make the tasty cocktail below. Admittedly, this is a kind of fussy cocktail. Some of the ingredients are a tad harder to find and a trip to a very good liquor store will be in order (I link to everything hard to find below for delivery too). Fussiness aside, this is a very tasty, light yet deep, and balanced cocktail that’s — thankfully — not overly sweet.
Let’s dive in!

Bombay London Dry Gin is a great cocktail gin that’s both affordable and available pretty much everywhere. St. Germain (elderflower liqueur) should also be available at most decent liquor stores in large 750ml, 375ml, and small 200ml bottles. Since this is a pretty niche additive for cocktails, I’d recommend grabbing the smaller bottle so that it doesn’t just sit on your shelf for months (or years).
Or, if you’re a huge Swift fan, grab the big bottle and go all in.
Lillet Blanc is a French aperitif that’s in the same vein as fortified wines like vermouth (and it’s usually used in the same way in cocktails). In a pinch, you can use dry vermouth, but you won’t be getting the same subtle sweetness and hint of bitter quinine. Plus, a good liquor store should carry Lillet.
Lastly, there’s the lemon bitters. Only really good full-service liquor stores will carry this. So you might want to just order it online and save a trip to, like, all the liquor stores in your town searching for it.
What You’ll Need:
Coupe (prechilled)
Cocktail shaker
Cocktail strainer
Jigger
Fine mesh strainer
Paring knife
Hand juicer
Method:
Add the gin, Lillet, St. Germain, grapefruit juice, and bitters to a cocktail shaker. Add a large handful of ice, affix the lid, and then shake vigorously until the cocktail shaker is ice-cold to touch.
Fetch the glass from the freezer and double strain (with the cocktail strainer and fine mesh strainer) into the cocktail glass.
Express the oils from the grapefruit peel over the glass and discard. Serve.
Bottom Line:
This is bright and super refreshing, which is a great feel for January sipping. It’s a great change of pace from the heavy winter cocktails that dominate the colder months, and it kind of feels like a good low(ish) alcohol cocktail for a “damp” January.
The grapefruit and lemon bitters make this cocktail pop on the palate. It’s truly vibrant in every way. The gin is there with a fleeting sense of botanicals, but it is never overpowering — you barely get juniper at all.
The overall vibe is soft yet bright and well-balanced between bitter, botanical, herbal, and barley sweetened — the sweetness only comes through with the Lillet and grapefruit (which is one of the sweeter citruses). For my palate, I have to say — it’s a pretty nice sipper.
Hidden Track: Vodka Diet Coke
So this — vodka and Diet Coke — is classically considered Taylor Swift’s favorite cocktail. Watch the video above again. She clearly actually drinks this. Which… are celebrities keeping Diet Coke alive? Why not Coke Zero? I digress.
Anyway, this is a super easy highball that anyone can make in an instant.
Ingredients:
2 oz. vodka
4 oz. Diet Coke
Ice
Lemon wedge
These are easily sourceable ingredients from any store.
What You’ll Need:
Highball glass
Jigger
Paring knife
Straw
Method:
Fill the highball glass with ice. Pour the vodka over the ice and top with Diet Coke.
Slice a wedge from a lemon and pop it on the glass with a straw. Serve.
Bottom Line:
Okay, bear with me. I like this a lot more than the French Blonde. There’s something that vodka does to amp up the Diet Coke that just works. It’s fresh and vibrant while feeling like a sneaky treat with a hint of alcohol lurking beneath it all. You get the loving feel of the Coke without that acrid Diet Coke taste, which feels kind of like a magic trick. I can see drinking these all the time as end-of-day relaxation highballs, weekend brunch sippers, or just in general — which is saying a lot as I famously hate Diet Coke.
Fans of 50 Cent’s long-running STARZ television series Power and all of its spin-offs shed some tears recently. One of the favorite characters of many, Unique, played by New York rapper Joey Bada$$, was recently killed off. His role was in the Power Book III: Raising Kanan spin-off. Like the supporters of Kadeem Mathis, Bada$$ was also quite heartbroken about leaving the great cast and crew behind.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, he said, “ Unique Forever Much love to my @raisingkananstarz family. It was an honor and pleasure. ” Fans have been stunned for a few days now. But, Joey is here to explain why this was the final result. According to HipHopDX, he had a hard time focusing on this gig and his music career.
In a quick chat with TMZ, he explained, “Unfortunately, I do have two careers that I’m balancing. So I had to go on tour, and we just kinda couldn’t make it work.” He went further, revealing that his supporters can expect some new material very soon. “New music is coming, definitely soon. This month, actually. This is my birthday month, so I’m definitely gon’ put something out in a couple weeks.” Joey turns 29 on the 20th. Above is an old preview of a track which could be the song he was referring to.
What are your initial thoughts on Joey Bada$$’s reasoning for deciding to leave Power Book III: Raising Kanan? Are you excited about new music from him this month? Was Unique your favorite character from the show? If he does return to acting, what kind of role should he take on next time and why? Does this mean we could get a new album this year? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Comedian and actor Jo Koy hosted the 2024 Golden Globes last night (January 7), and his joke about Taylor Swift, but more so her reaction to it, is making headlines.
What did Jo Koy say about Taylor Swift at the 2024 Golden Globes?
At one point during the show, Koy said, “As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader. The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL: On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear.”
There was some light, scattered laughter from the audience as the broadcast cut to a shot of Taylor Swift. She was either truly not amused or giving a Globe-worthy acting performance, sporting a stern, glaring expression and taking a sip of her drink.

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.” pic.twitter.com/d2TDVcUGv5
Swift recently addressed backlash from NFL fans over the extensive media coverage of her presence at games, saying in a December interview, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Koy himself acknowledged that his jokes weren’t necessarily all landing, telling the audience at one point, “I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue?” Indeed, Koy was a last-minute hire for the show and had less than two weeks to prepare.
Swift, meanwhile, was part of another viral moment from the evening, although it didn’t happen on stage: Videos from the event show Selena Gomez telling Swift and Keleigh Teller something that got animated reactions, which some believe to be about Kylie Jenner refusing to let her take a photo with Timothée Chalamet.
21 Savage has become one of the more elusive rappers recently. Sure, he has done plenty of features over the past few years. Additionally, he hit the road for a short time in the UK for a tour. However, in terms of his solo career, the London-born rapper has been stingy when it comes to dropping new music. It has been a little over five years since his last lone offering, i am > i was.
Furthermore, 21 has only dropped two solo singles in the past two years. His most recent was a collaboration with the Call of Duty video game franchise called “Call Me Revenge.” But, there is some excitement surrounding the trap rap hitmaker. Supposedly, he will be moving into the movie industry. Moments ago, 21 Savage announced on his social media accounts an image of himself, Childish Gambino, and Caleb McLaughlin. The latter is one of the main actors from the ever-popular “Stranger Things” Netflix series.
Not much is known about this project, but it appears to be a biopic of 21’s life. He captioned the post with “” The title of the film is American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. There is a chance we could learn about his time growing up in the UK and how he got over to the states. Another early but perhaps obvious predicition is that Caleb will play a young 21 and Gambino (aka Donald Glover) will potray a present day Savage.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new announcement from 21 Savage about his rumored biopic? Do you think he made the right choices by selecting Childish Gambino and Caleb McLaughlin? Are you excited about this new project If yes or no, what are your early predictions for it? How should this movie be released? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding 21 Savage and Childish Gambino. Chris Stapleton has become a country music icon over the last decade. He’s also carved out a deep following in the whiskey community as well. Over the last couple of years, Stapleton has partnered with Buffalo Trace Distillery to release single-barrel picks of E.H. Taylor, Jr. Bourbon that have raised tons of cash for charities. They’ve also been excellent whiskeys. This week, Buffalo Trace and Stapleton took their partnership to the next level and (finally) released a new whiskey brand — Traveller Whiskey.
There’s a lot to get into here. First, almost anything new from Buffalo Trace — which also makes iconic labels like Pappy Van Winkle, Weller, Eagle Rare, Blanton’s, and so many more — creates rabid excitement amongst whiskey fans. Second, Stapleton has the perfect level of cool that appeals to everyday music lovers and whiskey drinkers. So this collaboration leaned into exactly that with an American Blended Whiskey at a great price point.
Long story short, Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley and Stapleton tasted through 50 different blends before landing on the perfect one for Traveller Whiskey. The best part, this bottle only costs $39. And so far, that price is holding at retail. That’s kind of exciting from a distillery that historically drops whiskey that can cost hundreds of times more than their suggested retail.
So what’s in the bottle exactly? Let’s dive in and answer that!

This new whiskey from Buffalo Trace is the summation of years of collaboration between Country icon Chris Stapleton and Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley. After testing 50 different blends, this is the one that landed. The whiskey in the bottle is a special blend of Buffalo Trace rye and bourbons that hit just the right note for Stapleton’s whiskey palate.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: The nose leans into rich Buffalo Trace bourbon with a deep vanilla buttercream over soft spiced brandied cherries just kissed with dark chocolate and old oak staves with a whisper of salted caramel.
Palate: That caramel has a hint of sweet corn to it on the palate before the vanilla rushes back in with a creamy lusciousness and layers of winter spices, orchard barks, and musty barrel houses — classic Buffalo Trace.
Finish: The end warms nicely for a moment with plenty of woody winter spice and a touch of grassy rye notes before the lush vanilla, cherry, and oak finish lingers for just the right amount of time.
Bottom Line:
This is a solid new utility whiskey. It works well as a sipper over some rocks or in a cocktail. Think of it as a solid table whiskey to have around for everyday pours after a hard day of work.
Ranking:
88/100: Solid B+!
Where To Buy:
As of now, this whiskey is readily available online at most retailers for its actual MSRP. That was the hope for Stapleton and the brand. This is meant to be an everyday sipper for his fans — and his fans need to be able to buy it for that to happen.
The “Steamboat Willie” version of Mickey Mouse has sailed to Walt Disney’s biggest enemy: the public domain. Much like Winnie the Pooh took his first bloody steps into the public domain last year, the Willie version of Mickey Mouse is already up for grabs, and now everyone wants a piece of that mouse, which is why there are already a handful of scary Mickey projects in the works.
This won’t be the first time Mickey’s likeness is used horrifically — he appeared in Escape From Tomorrow, the 2013 horror flick that was discretely filmed inside the Disney parks. He also appeared in his own ride, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, where he forces Minnie to listen to his guitar playing, much like a certain Ken we know. This mouse must be stopped!
Here are all of the “Mickey” projects currently in the works (This does not include Mickey 17, Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite follow-up due this year. That’s a different Mickey. Stay alert.)
Untitled Steven LaMorte Project
With a name like LaMorte, it’s no surprise that the director is jumping at the chance to make a killer mouse flick, especially after his Terrifier 2 became a cult favorite in 2022. LaMorte said in a statement that “Steamboat Willie has brought joy to generations, but beneath that cheerful exterior lies a potential for pure, unhinged terror,” he teased, adding “and I can’t wait to unleash our twisted take on this beloved character to the world.” Production is expected to begin this spring.
Mickey’s Mouse Trap
The team behind Mickey’s Mouse Trap wasted no time promoting their new slasher and dropped the trailer on New Year’s Day, also known as The Day Willie Died. Not to be confused with Five Nights At Freddys, Mickey’s Mouse Trap follows a group of unsuspecting teens being stalked by a man in a mouse costume. No release date has been announced as of yet, but you can check out the trailer below if you’re brave.
Infestation: Origins
Yes, this one is a game, but if you’re interested in becoming one with the mouse, you might want to check it out. The rules are simple: find the mouse, kill the mouse. But could it be that easy? Probably not. The game is now available for pre-save on Steam.
Shannon Sharpe won three Super Bowls as a Hall Of Fame tight end, and his conversation with Katt Williams on the newest episode of Club Shay Shay required just as much — if not more — endurance. The episode, running for two hours and 46 minutes, is titled “Katt Williams Unleashed,” and that’s putting it mildly. Williams fired jokes and insults at the expense of the likes of Cedric The Entertainer, Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Jonathan Majors, and, yes, Diddy. The whole thing has gone viral: As of this post, Williams is the No. 1 trending topic on X (formerly Twitter).
Around the 1:43:00 mark, Sharpe asked Williams expound upon his knowledge of Dave Chappelle reportedly walking away from $50 million, which led to a very unexpected place.
“People say that: ‘He lost $50 million!’ No!” Williams said. “No, that’s not even close to what happened to this dude, and until you understand what happened to the dude, you don’t understand what happened. Like, no, not they offered him $50 million, and he turned it down. Who gonna turn down $50 million? Now, I’ve had to turn down $50 million four times. Four times. Just to protect my integrity and that virgin hole I was telling you about. ‘Cause P. Diddy be wanting to party, and you gotta tell ’em no! You’ve got to tell him no. I did.”
Williams assured he has “the receipts for everything” he told Sharpe. About nine minutes later, Williams looped back to Diddy, saying, “All I gotta do is want it, and it belongs to me, so because of that, because I’m favored by God — like, when I see people’s wives and stuff, I don’t even look at them. I don’t want to look at nothing I don’t wanna have because I know blessed I am. If I look at it, I got it. That’s how Diddy be feeling.”
In early October, 50 Cent similarly bashed Diddy from the stage during his The Final Lap Tour. “That’s why I don’t be going to them Puffy parties. “Uh-uh. N**** hug you from the front and the back at the same time? F*ck you talkin’ about? Look, if you into that, you into that. I’m fine with it. To each his own. I’m just sayin’ this ain’t my motherf*cking kind of party. It’s uncomfortable. I think I belong in the girls bathroom when sh*t like that is going on.”
Dave Chappelle released a new stand-up comedy special, The Dreamer, on Netflix a few days ago. In it, he devotes some time to poking fun at Lil Nas X, but what did he say?
What did Dave Chappelle say about Lil Nas X in his new Netflix stand-up special?
“I know a dreamer when I see one, and I’ve met many powerful dreamers in my life, none more powerful than the man who calls himself Lil Nas X.
I met this n**** at a party, I had no idea who he was. But the minute he walked in that party, I knew I was in his dream. Everybody in the party was another dreamer. Everyone was famous, but when that n**** walked in, he was dressed like C-3PO. He was shining! And everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, there he is! That’s Lil Nas X!’
I didn’t know who he was. For some reason, out of all them dreamers, he walked right up to me. And he said, ‘I tried to get you in my video.’ I didn’t know what the f*ck he was talking about. I said, ‘What? What video?’ And he was just looking at me like, ‘You know what video,’ and walked away. And I watched him walk away. I said, ‘Man, this n****’s having a very powerful dream.’”
“What do you want to be when you grow up, Lil Nas X?’ That n**** stood up in front of the whole class: ‘I want to be the gayest n**** that ever lived. I want to do a music video, slide down a stripper pole, all the way to the depths of Hell, and suck the devil’s dick at ten o’clock on BET while all the kids are awake and can see me.’ Shockingly, that was the only dream that worked out.”
