Usher Knows Better Than To Sing To Dwyane Wade’s Wife At Concert

Usher is having a bit of a renaissance in 2023. The R&B legend has proven that there’s still a lot of love for him and his music around this year. His collaboration with Summer Walker and 21 Savage “Good Good” has been rising up the Hot 100 for weeks. It’s a single that’s expected to appear on his upcoming new album which is dropping in early 2024. The album’s release date is in line with another major piece of recent news for the singer.

Over the weekend it was announced that he would be following up Rihanna last year by taking the stage at this year’s upcoming Superbowl. Usher described the opportunity to play the Halftime Show as the “honor of a lifetime” in a statement released alongside the announcement. Fans have been showing up to the rapper’s Las Vegas residency all year and occasionally it’s caused a bit of controversy. Most notably when Keke Palmer turned up to a show in a revealing fit that her boyfriend wasn’t a fan of. She doubled down by appearing in one of the singer’s music videos just a few months later, which had some noticeable parallels.

Usher Knows Better Than To Take On D-Wade

Now in a new video, Usher seems to have learned his lesson. A hilarious clip is making the rounds of the singer refusing to perform directly to Dwyane Wade’s wife for a pretty good reason. He doesn’t want the smoke because he’s pretty well aware that he couldn’t take Wade in a fight. He hilarious explains his decision into a nearby camera.

Fans in the comments agreed with his assessment. “He know who to play with and who not to play with,” one comment reads. “Marry the woman. And then BOOM usher won’t snatch them up,” another agrees. What do you think of Usher’s interaction with Dwyane Wade during one of his concerts? Let us know in the comment section below.

Dwyane Wade Gets Candid About Letting Go Of Zaya Wade’s Future In Basketball

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are raising a beautiful family and all of their kids are very talented and poised for success in the future. Having two superstar parents who have seen it all in their lives, like Dwyane and Gabrielle, is an amazing perk to have. However, it can also be a con. When kids have celebrity parents who have excelled in their respective fields, society, and sometimes the parents, expect them to follow in their footsteps. That is something that Dwyane was dealing with himself.

One child that he felt was destined for the NBA was his then-son, Zion. Wade and Siovaughn Funches gave birth to him on May 29, 2007. But, Zion then changed her name to Zaya in 2019 and came out publicly as trans one year later. With that change, Zaya has been pursuing a career as a runway model and she is already making strides. For any parent, having a child transition can be a tough thing to accept, but Dwyane spoke with glee and truthfulness about supporting Zaya.

In the clip above, Wade is speaking with ESPN’s Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast about letting go of his plans for Zaya. His close friends, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, have kids who are on track to reach the NBA. Those were his aspirations for Zaya but, as Wade said, “Then I got to meet my child.” He continues candidly, “And a lot of people like to talk about Zaya’s transition, but to me, Zaya hasn’t transitioned into anything. She’s but a kid, and now becoming a young adult.” He is fully embracing her daughter’s life choices and she is killing it right now in the fashion industry at just 16 years old.

What are your initial thoughts on Dwyane Wade speaking about his daughter, Zaya Wade? Why do you think it is hard for some people to accept other people’s choices to transition? How do you feel about this situation as a whole? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. WATCH: Dwyane Wade Recalls Telling Gabrielle Union About Fathering a Child Outside Their Relationship

Dwyane Wade appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, and the conversation got real. The talk between the two Hall of Famers turned to how Wade told his now-wife, Gabrielle Union, he fathered a child outside of their relationship.

Wade and Union were on a break at the time. The Miami HEAT legend revealed that he attempted to permanently break up with Union to avoid the tough conversation, but Union “kept showing up.” At that point, Wade knew he would have to have the conversation.

“One, the whole situation is scary enough, you’re a public figure,” Wade said. “But you know that this is going to hurt someone that you’ve been building a relationship with and a life with.”

Wade revealed the moment was tough because it coincided with the NBA playoffs. Even now, the situation is not perfect. “We go to therapy, we’ve had shouts about it, we’ve had regular conversations about, and so it’s been something that going to be something that I have to work at and work on.”

You can hear it all from Wade below.

Dwyane Wade Reflects On Telling Gabrielle Union About Getting Another Woman Pregnant

In a recent episode of Club Shay Shay, Dwyane Wade reflected on a 2013 incident where he got a woman other than Gabrielle Union pregnant. “Way harder to have a conversation with my now-wife. You try to think of everything possible. You’re thinking about it all, and it is all scary. The one situation is scary enough, but you know this is gonna hurt someone that you’ve been building a relationship and a life with. We were in the playoffs, I think, even going into the finals that year. Man, that was a rough time for me. You’ve got a lot on your mind, and you’re keeping something from people you love. At night, when it’s just you and your thoughts, those thoughts are loud.”

Back in 2021, Union detailed her own reaction to the incident in her memoir. “To say I was devastated is to pick a word on a low shelf for convenience. I have not had words, and even after untold amounts of therapy I am not sure I have them now. I would have sold my soul for a win. To get out of the endless cycle of loss. The experience of Dwyane having a baby so easily while I was unable to left my soul not just broken into pieces, but shattered into fine dust scattering in the wind.” Wade has a son, Xavier, from the incident.

Wade Has Emotional Tribute For AI

Away from his relationship, Wade was recently enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame. His orange jacket was given to him by one of his heroes, Allen Iverson. “It means everything to me,” Wade told PEOPLE at the time. “I wear the number three jersey because of Allen Iverson and just have so much respect for that man. No one has been able to use [Iverson] yet, and that I’m the first one to be able to say Allen Iverson has presented me into the Hall of Fame…that right there, if you tell 17-year-old Dwyane that, I wouldn’t believe you.”

Initially, Wade wanted his longtime Miami Heat co-star Udonis Haslem to present him. However, your presenter must be an existing Hall of Famer and Haslem only announced his retirement this offseason. “So, when I started thinking about guys that are Hall-of-Famers, guys that I looked up to, right away three names came to mind,” Wade says. “It’s Michael Jordan, it’s Kobe Bryant, and it’s Allen Iverson. Obviously, my brother Kobe couldn’t be in that seat, couldn’t be in one of those chairs to present me in.” Eventually, Wade settled on the Sixers legend.

Stephen A. Smith Says LeBron James’ Legacy Would Be Nothing Without Dwyane Wade

Another day, another hot take from Stephen A. Smith. Amid a week where Smith may have straight up broken the law, he took some time to drop a different basketball hot take. A lot has been made about LeBron’s absence from Dwyane Wade’s recent Hall of Fame enshrinement. Of course, the most likely reason for this is that James is continuing to care for his son Bronny. Bronny is recovering from a cardiac arrest last month. However, myriad theories surrounding disrespect and beef have also emerged.

It appears that Smith is one of those believers, as he tackled the issue head-on during a recent episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show. “LeBron James, one could easily argue, wouldn’t even know what it’s like to be a champion had it not been for Dwyane Wade,” Smith said. “Somebody needs to say it, so I’m going to say it.” Smith’s argument is based on the notion that LeBron didn’t win his first championship until he linked with Wade in Miami. Of course, LeBron has won two other titles. He earned one with the Cavs in 2016 and another with the Lakers in 2020. However, Smith later clarified that LeBron remains his #2 all-time NBA player behind MJ.

Does LeBron Owe It All To Wade?

Smith’s argument is muddled at best. He’s not saying Wade is a better player than James, although that’s definitely what it sounds like upon first hearing it. Instead, Smith is trying to make a very labored point about LeBron finally getting the support he needed to win a championship. Honestly, the most surprising thing about this take is how pedestrian it is. Like yeah, Wade helped LeBron get over the championship hump. Was that not the point of “The Decision”? Wasn’t all of this by design to get LeBron a championship-caliber supporting cast?

Again, what’s weird is that Smith is trying to apply this to LeBron’s non-attendance at the Hall of Fame ceremony. It feels like this would be a bigger deal if his family hadn’t suffered a major medical emergency less than a month prior. It’s completely understandable that LeBron might want to take things slow. But unless either party comes out to say otherwise, his non-attendance shouldn’t get taken as some weird snub against Wade? Maybe someone needs to check in on Stephen A., his takes are starting to get weird.
