4Batz And Drake Ball Out For Their Ladies On Their Charming New ‘Act II: Date @ 8 Remix’

4Batz is having a hell of a breakthrough. Last year, the Dallas artist released his single, “Act II: Date @ 8,” on which, he charmingly explains to a young lady how he plans to woo her.

“I’ll come and slide by 8 p.m. / And send a text to your DM / Five hunnid for your f*ckin’ hair / Two hunnid for your f*ckin’ nails / You runnin’ out of shoes to wear / So I bought you another pair,” 4Batz sings on the song’s chorus.

Since its release, the song has proven to be a viral hit. And now, 4Batz has received another coveted feat — a cosign from Drake. On the song’s new remix, Drake makes an attempt to step back into his ladies’ man bag.

“Two hunnid on your f*ckin’ nail / Yeah, this sh*t feel like a fairy tale / I swear, I’ll make them open up Chanel / I’m a stand-up guy like Dave Chapelle,” Drake rap-sings on his verse

This is just the beginning for 4Batz. In a recent interview for our Uproxx 20 series, he shared that he is striving for longevity and wants for his music to have a long-lasting impact.

“I would like to be remembered as, the biggest artist in the world,” said 4Batz, “and one of the most humble people in the world who gave back and inspired people, and who you know was talented.”

Best Rapper Cameos On FX’s “Dave”

Lil Dicky’s hit television series Dave has been airing since 2020 and has brought with it a host of exceptional cameo appearances. The series has seen Don Cheadle, Kourtney Kardashian, Marshmello, and even Brad Pitt appear as fictionalized versions of themselves, often for comedic effect. Of course, the series centers on Dave’s rise through the ranks of hip hop, offering an opportunity for many of rap’s finest contemporaries to make their mark. Throughout Dave‘s three seasons, dozens of rappers have popped up to interact with a fledgling Lil Dicky, as he progresses through such gauntlets as the Met Gala, the XXL Freshman cover, and a cross-country tour. Here are seven of the best rapper cameos in the series.

7. Trippie Redd

Unlike most of the other cameos in the show, Trippie Redd appears across several episodes of Dave and even takes Dave’s in-house producer and longtime friend, Elz, under his wing. As an established name in hip hop, Trippie Redd represents what Dave and his cohorts are trying to achieve while also serving as an intimidating figure the main cast is desperate to impress. In fact, Trippie is responsible for kicking off the plot of the Season 1 episode “What Wood You Wear,” after tasking Dave and Elz with babysitting his young and reckless nephew.

6. Rick Ross

If Trippie Redd represents a daunting force to Dave, Rick Ross is an untouchable leviathan in the series, a proverbial god amongst men. Ross appears in a brief but memorable role in the show’s third season, which sees him bestowing his massive and expensive diamond-studded chain upon Dave for safekeeping. Unfortunately, Dave is set up by a couple of thugs in Atlanta and must go through the wringer to ensure he doesn’t disrespect Rick Ross’s generosity by losing the chain. Eventually, Dave’s relationship with the Maybach Music pioneer paves the way for his success within the industry.

5. Doja Cat

Doja Cat never actually shared the screen with any of Dave‘s main cast members during her Season 2 appearance. However, her cameo says a lot about societal expectations of women and the mistreatment of artists within the music industry machine. In the episode “Somebody Date Me,” Doja Cat matches with Dave over the celebrity dating app Raya, and the two share a genuine connection over a weekend of texts. Unfortunately, Dave’s self-centered neuropathy results in him blowing his chances with the “Paint The Town Red” vocalist, as Doja’s constant work obligations prevent her from devoting 100 percent of her time to him.

4. Drake

The hype surrounding Drake’s appearance marked one of the biggest moments in the entire show, concluding the third season with a stunning and hilarious interaction. Drake and Dicky showcase a surprising amount of chemistry during the “One Dance” rapper’s brief appearance on Dave and serves as a punchline to a season-long arc about Dave’s ongoing quest for love. The only reason this cameo doesn’t top the list is because there is a bit of shaky green screen happening in the interaction, which suggests the cameo may have been filmed remotely. While Drake’s first stab at the show was a huge success, fans would surely welcome a chance to see the two rappers reunite in person with a proper cameo next season.

3. Killer Mike

Killer Mike appears in the same season 3 episode of Dave as Rick Ross and offers a similar awe-inspiring window into success. After spending the entire episode concerned that Killer Mike would not approve of his place in the rap landscape, Lil Dicky happens into a chance encounter with the Atlanta native and pours his heart out in the interest of securing his place in the culture. Killer Mike offers some genuine insight into black culture and the influence that certain elements of the Black experience have on hip hop and successfully convinces the ever-frugal Dave to make a sizable donation to a charitable organization.

2. Jack Harlow

Between the brown curly hair, the beard, and the complexion so white you could probably deep-fry him with a flashlight, Jack Harlow serves as something of an evil twin to Lil Dicky during his Season 3 appearance. Throughout the season, Dave finds himself burdened by unflattering comparisons to Jack Harlow, setting the stage for comedic exploration when they eventually meet up. Unlike many other rappers who appear too big to be aware of Dicky in the series, Harlow is all too familiar with his pale counterpart and was just itching for an excuse to drive Dave out of the Met Gala. The interaction is reminiscent of high school bullying in the silliest way possible.

1. YG

Legendary West Coast rapper YG appears in the very first episode of the hit FX series and offers Dave his first real shot at impressing the masses. For many fans who were not aware of Dicky’s music before watching the show, his on-the-spot freestyle, which he drops for YG and company, provides fans and critics alike to see that he truly has a mastery of bars. Over the course of just a few minutes, YG goes from dismissive of Dave to playfully ribbing him to being downright wowed by his lyrical and technical capability. In the end, YG agrees to do a song with Dave and collects a hefty sum for his collaboration. Of course, the episode ends without YG holding up his end of the bargain, leaving Dave to wonder if he’s just made a sizable investment or been scammed.

Thanks to the internet and social media, aspiring entertainers can create opportunities for themselves they might not have gotten otherwise. The latest example is breakout singer 4Batz, whose song “Act II: Date @ 8” went viral on TikTok, giving the relative newcomer a Billboard Hot 100 hit. Even better for 4Batz, the single came to the attention of some pretty heavy hitters, with Drake and Kanye West both commenting on the song and the latter calling 4Batz one of his favorite artists. Meanwhile, Drake shared an Instagram post that seemed to suggest he and 4Batz were collaborating on a remix.

Now, it looks like we have confirmation of the remix along with a release date, thanks to a 4Batz post on Twitter. In the accompanying video, Drake and 4Batz huddle with some friends in what looks like an empty arena — perhaps one of the more recent stops on Drake’s Big As The What? Tour — listening to Drake’s new verse from a phone and getting pretty hyped up about it. The release date is also right around the corner; the song is due to hit streaming this Friday (March 8) according to 4Batz, who also added the pre-save link to his bio. You can check that out here.

Camila Cabello Opens Up On Her Vacation With Drake

Popstar and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello is entering a new era. Her last studio album Familia dropped back in 2022 sporting collaborations from artists like Ed Sheeran and Willow. But now she’s gearing up to release new material having shared previews of new music and teased potential song and album names in the past few months. In the process, she’s crossed paths with numerous fellow celebs and been subject to some dating rumors as a result.

The most substantial of those rumors started popping up back in December. That’s because she was spotted in Turks & Caicos enjoying her vacation alongside Drake. The pair spent some time riding around on jet skis and presumably getting up to numerous other vacation activities that the cameras didn’t catch. During a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast Cabello was asked about the vacation. “It was vacation plus some work,” she revealed, followed by a pretty cheeky wink at the host. She went on to assure everyone that she loves Drake, though it didn’t seem in a particularly romantic way. Check out the clip from her recent podcast appearance below.

Camila Cabello Keeps It Vague On Drake Rumors

Before the Drake story, Camila was connected to Rauw Alejandro following the Latin music star’s breakup with Rosalia. Afterwards she found herself connected to Playboi Carti. That started when a flirty video dropped of the pair in the studio together where Carti calls her “baby girl.” They doubled down a few days later sharing a Facetime call that made the rumors surrounding the pair even louder.

Recently some online have even tried to connect her to Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. That’s because she popped up courtside at a recent Miami game and Butler was spotted wearing a shirt with a rumored title of her new song on it. What do you think of Camila Cabello’s response to the rumors about her and Drake spawning from a vacation last year? What do you think she’s implying when she says it was for both vacation and work? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake is soaring to the top — literally. While private jets and planes have been the subject of controversy for some of his peers, the “First Person Shooter” hitmaker shared a video from his “Air Drake” aircraft.

While Drake has conquered charts and streaming records, the prolific rapper is also conquering low visibility. Flying in low visibility conditions may sound a bit daunting, but Drake says it provides a thrill for him. In a recent Instagram post, he shared himself (with the help of a professional air crew) making a smooth landing, despite low visibility.

“There’s a couple landings I love on Air Drake but tbh the low visibility is the most exciting,” he said in the post’s caption, “it makes your heart drop a bit…lucky I got the best putting this sh*t wheels down.”

Drake is currently with J. Cole and Lil Durk on the It’s All A Blur — Big As The What? Tour. Earlier this week, Lil Wayne — who discovered Drake and signed him to Young Money — announced he would be joining the It’s All A Blur — Big As The What? Tour for two nights (March 23 & 24) at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

In the meantime, you can see the “Air Drake” clip above.

Will Drake Remix 4Batz’s ‘Act II: Date @ 8?’

4batz 2024 press pic

Dallas singer and rapper 4Batz has the internet abuzz. Late last year, he released his song “Act II: Date @ 8,” which has since proven to be a viral hit. As the hit garners more popularity, 4Batz is in the middle of a bidding war between the three major labels. The boy’s future looks promising, and now all he needs is one marker that has become a rite of passage for hip-hop and R&B artists in this day and age— a cosign from Drake.

But it looks like he may soon get the coveted seal of approval.

Will Drake remix 4Batz’s “Act II: Date @ 8?”

In an Instagram story posted last night (March 4), Drake shared an image of a screen playing an audio file. 4Batz and Drake’s longtime collaborating producer Noah “40” Shebib are tagged in the picture.

At the top of the file is a name reading “Date @ 8 REMIX S5V6b.”

Now, this could mean a lot of things. It could mean he sent a verse to 4Batz for consideration. It could also mean a remix is complete, and Drake was listening to final mixes.

But regardless, it looks like an “Act II: Date @ 8” remix is on the way, which could potentially open new doors for 4Batz. After all, we’ve seen how a Drake co-sign has boosted acts like Migos, Summer Walker, and more.

Drake Will Executive Produce Apple TV+ ‘Neuromancer’ Adaptation Co-Created by JD Dillard

Drake is back executive producing another high-profile television series, and this time, it’s on Apple TV+. The streamer developed an adaptation of the novel Neuromancer, which is co-created by JD Dillard.

As reported by Shadow and Act, this project is based on an award-winning novel of the same name authored by William Gibson. The adaptation headed to the small screen comes from creators Dillard and Graham Roland. This marks a co-production between Skydance Television and Anonymous Content, two heavyweights in film and television. Superstar rapper Drake’s DreamCrew Entertainment also produces Neuromancer. Roland will serve as the showrunner. Dillard, who has directed films such as Sleight and Devotion, is directing the pilot episode.

Here’s the official description from Apple+:

The series will follow a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime with his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes, aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.

“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing this iconic property to Apple TV+,” said creators and executive producers Graham Roland and JD Dillard. “Since we became friends nearly ten years ago, we’ve looked for something to team up on, so this collaboration marks a dream come true. Neuromancer has inspired so much of the science fiction that’s come after it and we’re looking forward to bringing television audiences into Gibson’s definitive ‘cyberpunk’ world.”

Dillard and Roland are executive producing Neuromancer with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television and Drake, Adel ‘Future’ Nur, and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment. Zack Hayden and Gibson are serving as executive producers.
