Drake Allegedly Dissed Kendrick Lamar On ESPN In 2014 But Forced The Network To Delete The Footage

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are beefing right now, and everyone is talking about it. Overall, this feels like the biggest story in North America. There is an election this year, however, most people are debating between these two as opposed to Donald Trump and Joe Biden. At the end of the day, pop culture is front and center in our lives, and this beef is taking over the moment. For now, many believe the feud is over as Drake seemingly waved the white flag on “The Heart Part 6.” That said, there is always a chance that someone comes through with a new song.

Meanwhile, those who have ever been around Drake and Kendrick in the past are coming out of the woodwork to give their takes on what is happening. One such person is Marcellus Wiley, who used to be a co-host on the ESPN show Sportsnation. In a new video posted to Twitter, Wiley claimed that Drake was on the show in 2014 and dissed Kendrick Lamar on it. Subsequently, he allegedly did everything he could to block the interview from going out. He even allegedly threatened to not host the ESPYs.

Marcellus Wiley On Drake

Overall, Wiley doesn’t have proof that this happened and simply expects the audience to take his word for it. That said, Drake was definitely a regular on ESPN at the time. This would have been a year after the “Control” verse, which Drizzy was reportedly offended by. However, there is no concrete proof that he did this, and considering the footage was scrubbed, we will probably never see it with our own two eyes.

Let us know what you think of this revelation from Marcellus Wiley, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this actually happened? Do you think that Drake is going to come through with a new track after what just went down on “Not Like Us?” Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Drake Doubles Down On “The Heart Pt 6”: Breaking Down The Allegations

In the ongoing Hip Hop saga, “The Heart Part 6” is the latest entry in the ongoing lyrical battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The track is a response to Kendrick’s heavy-hitting “Not Like Us” and “Meet The Grahams.” Drake announced the song with the caption, “The Heart Part 6 out now. And we know you’re dropping 6 mins after so instead of posting my address you have a lot to address.”

Drake’s track is a clever inversion of Kendrick’s own “The Heart” series, a collection of songs that have been a recurring theme throughout Kendrick’s career. By naming his diss track “The Heart Part 6,” Drake not only mocks Kendrick’s series but also implies a continuation of the narrative, suggesting that he’s now taking over the story Kendrick began. In this latest installment, Drake addresses head-on the allegations thrown at him by Kendrick in his last two diss tracks, “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us.” Moreover, he backs it up with his allegations of his own. However, Drake’s latest release isn’t sitting well with fans.

Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” featured an aerial map view of Drake’s mansion, splattered with red tags to imply sex offenders inhabit the house. Unsurprisingly, the cover art for Drake’s response similarly intends to be provocative. It features a screenshot of an Instagram comment left by pgLang co-founder Dave Free, on a post about Whitney Alford’s children. Whitney Alford, who is the mother to Lamar’s two children, does not follow him on Instagram. The cover art is thus a strategic jab at Kendrick. Drake is referencing his previous accusation on “Family Matters” that Alford had been unfaithful with Free, and fathered the son who Kendrick is now raising.

The Secret Daughter And The Mole

Kendrick accused Drake of having an 11-year-old secret daughter he wouldn’t publicly claim in his previous track “Meet the Grahams.” In “The Heart Part 6,” Drake flips the script. He claims that OVO planted the story as bait to trick Kendrick. “We plotted for a week and then we fed you the information / A daughter that’s eleven years old, I bet he takes it / We thought about givin’ a fake name or a destination,” he raps. This aligns with Kendrick admitting he received the information about Drake’s alleged hidden child from someone close to Drizzy.

The Pedophilia Allegations

Kendrick also called out Drake and the OVO crew as child molesters on multiple of his diss tracks. Specifically, on “Not Like Us,” he referred to Drake and his crew as “certified pedophiles.” Drake vehemently denies this, multiple times on “The Heart Part 6.” “I never been with no one underage but now I understand why this is the angle that you really mess with / If I was f**king young girls, I promised I’d have been arrested / I’m way too famous for this sh*t you just suggested,” Drake insists.

He also suggests that the allegations were Kendrick’s way of misdirecting the beef instead of focusing on music solely. “Speaking of anything with a child, let’s get to that now / This Epstein angle was the shit I expected / TikTok videos you collected and dissected / Instead of being on some dis-direct sh*t / You rather fu*king grab your pen and misdirect sh*t,” Drake raps. Listeners would later point out that Kendrick had referred to Weinstein on his track, and not Epstein.

On “The Heart Part 6,” Drake also brings up Lamar’s alleged domestic troubles. For example, he touches on Lamar’s relationship with his fiancee, Whitney Alford. Drake alleges she was cheating on and planning to leave Kendrick for allegedly physically abusing her. Drake questions why Whitney hasn’t publicly denied the allegations. “And why isn’t Whitney denying all of the allegations / Why is she following Dave Free and not Mr. Morale / You haven’t seen the kids in six months, the distance is wild / Dave leaving heart emojis underneath pics of the child,” he raps.

Elsewhere in the song, he continues to suggest that Dave Free is actually the father of his son, rapping, “Like if Dave really fu*ked your girl and got her pregnant, talk about breedin’ resentment.” He also ties together his response to the allegations of grooming minors, specifically Millie Bobby Brown and Kendrick’s speculated split from Alford. “I’m your baby mama’s screen saver / only fu*king with Whitney’s, not Millie Bobby Brown’s.”

Another Domestic Drama

Drake mocks Kendrick’s signature series, “The Heart,” by naming his diss track “The Heart Part 6.” This move mirrors Kendrick’s own mockery of Drake’s AM/PM series with “6:16 In LA.” However, he also took a shot at Kendrick by referencing another song from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. “My mom came over today and I was like/ ‘Mother I-, mother I-, mother I-‘ / Wait a second, that’s that one record where you say you got molested / Aw, f**k me, I just made the whole connection,” he raps. “This is trauma from your own confessions / This when your father leave you home alone with no protection, so neglected / That’s why these pedophile raps is shit you so obsessed with, it’s so excessive.”

This is a direct reference to Kendrick’s confessions from 2022’s “Mother I Sober.” Here, he tells a story of his mom forcing him to admit to a sexual molestation by his cousin that never happened. Kendrick, who is a child at the time tries to convince his mother he hadn’t been molested, but it’s futile. Kendrick explains her refusal to believe him as being a result of her own childhood trauma. Some argued Drake’s reference attempts to make Kendrick relive the experience of not being believed. It’s a twist on Lamar’s pedophile accusations against Drake.

Conclusion

The release of Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” has certainly made waves. As a result, the song garnered a wide array of reactions from fans, critics, and fellow artists alike. Metro Boomin reacted to the track with a meme of Chris Paul. This suggests that despite Drake’s efforts, he is still trailing in the battle with Kendrick.

In the outro of “The Heart Part 6,” Drake raps on the feud with Kendrick Lamar in the past tense, saying he got “some good exercise.” This retrospective view hints at the possibility that Drake may be bowing out of the diss track exchange. Whether or not this puts the beef on pause is still unknown. Regardless, the public is still patiently waiting to see if Kendrick decides to retaliate or not. The ball, it seems, is in Kendrick’s court to decide if this is the final chapter of one of Hip Hop’s biggest beefs.

Drake Seemingly Takes Shot At Kendrick Lamar With Cryptic Instagram Story

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are currently in the midst of one of the most shocking rap beefs we have seen in quite some time. Overall, the feud started with some light jabs. However, things have devolved past the point of reconciliation. In fact, it is pretty clear that these two will never be cool. After all, one man is accusing the other of being a pedophile, while the other is making domestic violence accusations. Needless to say, the hate for one another is very real, and there is a real possibility that more songs are released.

For the last couple of days, Drake has been dealing with some scary situations at his home. On Tuesday, a security guard was shot outside of his home. Subsequently, a trespasser was arrested on Wednesday after trying to get onto the premises. Throughout all of this, Drake has remained calm and seems to be spending time in his home theater. In a video posted to his Instagram story, Drake showcased a scene from the show “A Man In Full.” The scene depicts the main character lying dead on the floor, with a voice-over offering up a message that one could interpret as near and dear to Drake’s heart right now.

Drake Resonates With “A Man In Full”

“I don’t mean this as a criticism,” the monologue begins. “Maybe I do. But when you die, will people notice? When I go, there are gonna a lot of memories of me by a lot of people, many who hate me. Even so, a person needs to live with vigor. Otherwise, what’s the point?” Whether or not this means another diss track is coming, remains to be seen. Either way, this is a tumultuous time for Drake and his OVO crew.

Jack Dorsey Confirms He’s Team Kendrick Lamar Amidst Drake Battle

Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar is the biggest rap battle of all time. Fans can argue for 2Pac vs. Biggie, or Jay vs. Nas, but the impact this current battle has had on popular culture is unprecedented. Those previous examples were relegated to fans of hip-hop, or fans of music at best. Now, celebrities are lining up to discuss which rapper they prefer. Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, is no exception. The entrepreneur has been keeping tabs on the high-profile battle, and it appears as though he’s coming out as a Kendrick Lamar supporter.

There’s actually multiple pieces of evidence to support this claim. For one, the Twitter specialist dug back into Lamar’s account to find a tweet from 2011. The tweet was in reference to a concert the rapper was performing at. “June 16th,” he wrote. “Toronto. Grab tix here.” The concert was from Drake’s Club Paradise tour, in which Lamar was booked as one of the openers. It’s a throwback to a simpler time for both artists, and in some ways, the starting point for their dissent. Dorsey reposted Lamar’s tweet with a single heart emoji on May 3.

Jack Dorsey Has Been Reposting K. Dot Content On X

Fans were puzzled by this, as it was unclear whether Dorsey was co-signing Lamar over the 6 God, reminding fans that Drake helped Lamar break through, or evoking a period in which the rappers were getting along. The lack of clarification didn’t help. Dorsey provided followers with an answer over the next couple days, however.

He reposted a video of Lamar and Jay Rock performing the 2012 song “Money Trees” at a Best Buy. The video was accompanied by a caption commending Lamar for working hard to improve his performing skills. Then, on May 8, Dorsey posted a link to Lamar’s music video for “Rich Spirit.” The caption he wrote next to the link read: “turn him to a song.”

“Rich Spirit” was originally released in 2022. The song sees him navigate the pressure of celebrity, as well as the criticisms that fans had for him in the years leading up to Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. It doesn’t hurt that Dorsey has a personal connection to the album. The entrepreneur made a cameo in the rapper’s music video for another Mr. Morale deep cut, “Count Me Out.”

Meek Mill References Drake And Kendrick Lamar In Bizarre X Rant

Meek Mill is a success story. The rapper has had a great career by any reasonable measure. He’s got two gold albums, two platinum albums, and several top 40 singles. Outside of the music, though, Meek has had a rougher time. He lost a battle to Drake in 2015, served prison time in 2017, and has since become something of a walking meme. He was linked to the ongoing case involving Diddy, and responded to it with a social media rant that had fans thoroughly confused. Meek put his Twitter fingers to work again May 8, and the results were similarly confusing.

The Philly rapper went on a tear and decided to list of all his accomplishments. He patted himself on the back for accomplishments that were valid, and ones that were a bit exaggerated. “I gotta say it what I offered to the game everytime it can’t be minimized,” he wrote. “I’m starting to like these convos if we in the era of facts. I been in all the jungles lifting communities up for years. And my rap skills are incredible! Like really really good.” Meek then revealed that his PR situation has been shaky over the last few years, which actually explains quite a bit. “My pr has been off for a year or 2,” he added. “So they mutating my name but when I’m gone they will give it up! Ima just keep grinding!”

Meek Mill Claimed Drake And Dot Are Both “Great”

All good, right? A little scattered, but more or less on topic. Then, out of nowhere, Meek Mill decides to give his two cents on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. Never mind the fact that the rapper was trying to hype himself up. Or the fact that an hour earlier, he explicitly tried to move away from the topic of the 6 God. “I give y’all my honest without speaking on Drake,” he wrote. He abandoned his game plan and decided to heap praise on both Drizzy and Kung Fu Kenny. “The boy and Kendrick have their own lanes and qualities they great at also,” Meek added.

This isn’t the first time Meek Mill has spoken on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. He claimed he wanted to see Lamar and J. Cole make up right after Cole issued a public apology for his diss. He also gave his thumbs up to Lamar’s Drake diss, “Not Like Us.” He left a comment under the song on IG. “I’ve never been excited for a rap battle but this got me looking,” he wrote. A bizarre comment, given that Meek literally battled Lamar’s opponent a decade ago, but a compliment nonetheless.

DJ Akademiks Teases The Release Of New Diss Records: “Waiting…”

DJ Akademiks’ profile has risen significantly since the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle started. He got sampled on a song, name-dropped on a song, and has been lionized as one of the main sources for new information. The internet personality was the one who confirmed that the battle stemmed from Lamar’s decision to turn down a guest spot on Drake’s “First Person Shooter.” He continued to tease his insider information on May 8. According to Ak, fans should begin preparing for brand new diss tracks.

DJ Akademiks revved up the fans when he posted a cryptic message on his Instagram Story. An all black background served as the basis for white text that read: “Waiting on a few records.” He threw a smiling emoji in for good measure, suggesting that fans are going to be in for a treat. The thing that makes Ak’s post cryptic, though, is that he doesn’t specify which rapper is dropping new music. It’s safe to assume Drake or Kendrick Lamar are the most likely candidates. This is bolstered by the fact that Akademiks said a diss track was originally supposed to drop on May 7. The only reason it didn’t was because there was a shooting at Drake’s mansion in Toronto.

DJ Akademiks Claims New Disses Are On The Way

“There was supposed to be some new music today,” Ak said via stream. “I’m not saying from who nor am I gonna confirm from either party that we’ve really been interested in.” There’s been widespread debate as to whether Drake will drop a second consecutive diss, after “The Heart Part 6,” or if Lamar will rattle off a response. Drake’s last diss received mixed reviews from listeners, and currently has more dislikes than likes on YouTube, so it may be in his best interest to try again. Lamar has stated, however, that he’s got plenty more songs tucked away.

Another theory circulating online is that the songs Ak teased were not from Drake or Lamar. Some have posited that they disses from two completely different artists. The Game, for example, has been throwing jabs at Rick Ross over social media. The Game loves to battle, as he’s seen from his two decade career, and he recently criticized the way that current rappers like J. Cole have gone “soft.” We could easily see a world in which Game decides to declare war on Rozay. As it stands, DJ Akademiks is the only one with the release info. Hopefully he’s telling the truth, and we get to hear these “records” soon.

Ice Cube Doesn’t Like Watching Drake And Kendrick Lamar Battle

Ice Cube’s venomous pen is legendary. He took on N.W.A. and beat them single-handedly with the diss classic “No Vaseline.” He took it to Common and conscious hip-hop with “Westside Slaughterhouse.”He even wrote the definitive police diss with N.W.A.’s “F**k tha Police.” If any rapper seems like they’d be all for the current battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, it would be Ice Cube. This is what makes his stance on the matter so surprising. Not only did Cube refuse to pick sides in the battle, but he claimed that he hasn’t enjoyed watching it.

Ice Cube appeared on Canada’s E-Talk to discuss the battle. He was forthright with the host, admitting that he wasn’t really a fan of watching rappers go back-and-forth when he isn’t involved. His reasoning? The global reach of hip-hop music. In Cube’s estimation, battles have become so big that rappers risk being humiliated in front of the whole world. That’s not something he wants to champion. “All walks of life know what’s going on,” he asserted. “And some people can’t really take that kind of humiliation. I don’t really like seeing rappers beef.”

Cube was also quick to reference the violence that rap battles could spark. He was it firsthand during the 1990s, which is partially why he agreed to make peace with Common in 1997. “Beefs are volatile,” he told the host. “You always have to be careful that a beef doesn’t turn into a murder. Back in the day, you’d do a diss record, but it would stay somewhat in the Hip Hop community.” Despite taking a mature angle to the current battle, Cube said he understood why Drake and Lamar were hashing their problems out on record. “It happens,” he added. “Hey, it’s part of the game.”

Ice Cube has voiced appreciation for Drake in the past, but he holds Lamar in much higher regard. He claimed that K. Dot has been “carrying” the West Coast since the 2010s. During a 2012 interview with HipHopDX, Cube praised the Compton rapper for quoting him on the album good kid, m.A.A.d City. “You can respect an artist like that,”Cube stated. “When true talent steps on the scene, it should be rewarded, whether it’s deep music that grips your soul or it’s just booty-shaking music.”

Wyclef Jean Supports Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Battle: “Anything Goes”

You aren’t a viable member of the hip-hop community if you don’t make a statement on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. At least, it feels that way. Every notable rapper from the 1980s to the present has weighed in on the conflict and chosen sides. Some have criticized Drake and Lamar for going too far and making the battle personal. Others have championed their dedication and their willingness to push the boundaries. Charlamagne tha God dubbed it the greatest rap battle he’s ever seen. Wyclef Jean is the latest legend to give his two cents, and he mostly agrees with Charlamagne.

Wyclef Jean, who rose to fame in the 1990s, fully supports the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. He neglected to mention which artist he picks as the current winner, but he had praise for both sides. He was even okay with the fact that Drake and Lamar were hitting below the belt with their disses. Wyclef shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), along with some context. “As someone who came up with Battle Rap being part of our culture in New Jersey and Brooklyn her[e] is my opinion as a Fugee,” he prefaced.

Wyclef Jean Encourages Drake & Dot To Keep Responding

From there, the Fugees frontman laid out the ground rules for a rap battle as he sees them. The most important rule? That anything was up for grabs. “Drake Vs Kendrick,” he posited. “In True Form of Battle Rap, anything goes.” Wyclef Jean went as far as to endorse multiple responses if it meant getting the upper hand in a battle. “The key is to be ready with what’s called a Rebuttal,” he posited. “Which means you get to respond back to every Diss track as it comes out. You get to put facts to any lies that you feel your opponent has cast on you…”

Wyclef Jean may be best remembered for his genre fusions, but he does have battle experience. He went at it with LL Cool J on the 1998 song “Retaliation.” The rappers eventually squashed their beef at Big Pun’s funeral two years later. Wyclef also had tension with Fugees bandmates Lauryn Hill and Pras, with the former putting out the Grammy-winning diss “Lost Ones” about him. The group has since made up and even performed together onstage.

Kendrick Lamar & Drake’s Rap Beef Overshadows Taylor Swift On Apple Music Charts

Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s explosive rap beef has taken over the internet in recent days, as well as the charts. The heated feud reached a peak on Friday night when Drizzy dropped “Family Matters,” accusing Kendrick of domestic violence, claiming that his fiancée might have a child with Dave Free, and more.

Less than an hour later, Kendrick fired back with “Meet The Grahams,” addressing several of Drake’s family members directly, starting with his son Adonis. Moreover, he states in the song that he thinks Drake should “die,” or at the very least, rot in prison. This took the battle up quite a few notches. Nearly everyone has picked a side in the viral debacle, though many are just happy to have gotten some new music out of it.

Drake’s “Family Matters,” and Kendrick’s “Like That” collab with Future and Metro Boomin are at fourth and fifth. Clearly, hip-hop fans have been tuned in amid the back and forth, which has only grown more contentious over time. So much so that they’ve even kicked Taylor Swift out of the top five altogether. Her Tortured Poets Department song with Post Malone, “Fortnight,” now sits at No. 9.

Kendrick Lamar Domestic Violence Allegations Resurface Thanks To Mysterious “okliar” Website

Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been in a pretty heated feud as of late. Although some have Kendrick winning right now, there is no doubt that fans want him to answer for some things. Overall, the biggest allegation against him is that he has been physical with his fiance, Whitney Alford. In fact, Drake alleged that the two are no longer together and that Lamar’s violence is the reason why. Furthermore, fans have dug up the allegation from 2014 that Kendrick allegedly beat a woman at the Hardrock Casino.

Shortly after that alleged incident in 2014, Lamar was on The Breakfast Club where he denied any wrongdoing. However, it appears as though a YouTube video has surfaced in which a young woman describes being called to the scene to take care of the alleged victim. The video is “unlisted” but can be accessed through a new website called okliar.com which is meant to be a parody of oklama. Throughout the video, the woman alleges that Kendrick was the perpetrator and that his team helped him to cover it all up.
