Doja Cat Will Star In Her Own ‘House Party’ Video Game

Entering the world of House Party is rapper and pop star Doja Cat, who is set to star in her own version of the game set for release this summer. The 3D single-player video game allows characters to create their own unique personalities, reacting to player interactions. Players can act through “hundreds of stories” with “thousands” of branching storylines.

“I’m so excited that I’m going to be a video game character,” said Doja in a statement. “House Party is about to get even better. You gotta check this game out.”

In Doja’s version of House Party, set for release this summer, players will help the “Need To Know” singer execute a master plan to track down a masked dancing sensation. Players will have access to multiple outfits for Doja to help her show off new dance moves, and help create a new music video.

“We are beyond ecstatic to be working with Doja Cat and her team on this collaboration,” said Bobby Ricci, Founder and CEO of Eek! Games, in a statement. “Doja Cat was the perfect pick to star in our first major expansion pack, and the more we work with her, the more apparent that becomes. We are excited to be able to bring this unique experience to the gaming world with our key partners, Bravado and Epik who helped in aligning us with Doja Cat.”

Doja’s video game news comes after 2K Sports revealed Machine Gun Kelly will be a playable wrestler in WWE 2K22. Quavo of Migos was also recently put into NBA 2K22.

A portion of the proceeds from Doja’s House Party game will benefit Advancing Children For Success, an organization dedicated to the development and protection of children and their families by way of improving access to nutrition, health, early learning, and skills development.

Doja Cat Praises Nicki Minaj’s Career: ‘I’m In Love With Everything’

Doja Cat has been one of the most prolific female rappers in recent memory. The rising hip-hop and pop star has been continually featuring on tracks with other artists, sharing her life on social media, and released her own full-length, Planet Her to immense critical acclaim last year. But as Billboard kicks off another round of interviews with women in the music industry, honoring how much harder we have to work for recognition, it’s Doja’s turn to give flowers to someone who influenced her deeply. And it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the person she most wants to shout out is none other than Nicki Minaj.

Billboard asked Doja: “What performers did you look to growing up?” And her response included flowers for Nicki first and foremost, along with Janet Jackson, and Beyonce. “It’s pretty obvious that I’m in love with everything Nicki Minaj has put out into the world,” Doja assert, before citing some other artists she admires. “You have your Janets and your Beyoncés. I look at [other artists’] projects and performances and go, “Wow, I hope one day I get to that point.”

Well, most of us think she’s well on her way there. Check out the full interview here.

Tyga And Doja Cat Are A ‘Freaky Deaky’ Duo On Their Flirtatious New Song

It’s been nearly three years since Tyga released an album to the world with his last effort being 2019’s Legendary. The project served as a comeback for him as he earned him an entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Taste,” which marked his first appearance on the chart since 2015. Doja Cat, on the other hand, is less than a year removed from his third album Planet Her which peaked at No. 2 on the albums chart and earned her several Grammy nominations for the 2022 award show. With that being said, Tyga and Doja brought their magic together for a second time with their latest collaboration.

Tyga and Doja join forces for their new single, “Freaky Deaky.” The track is the duo’s second song together after Tyga joined Doja for a remix of her hit song “Juicy” in 2019. The track appeared on Doja’s second album Hot Pink which also houses her sole No. 1 song “Say So” and her viral record “Streets.”

The collaboration arrives after Doja dropped an intergalactic video for “Get Into It (Yuh)” and shared a cover of Hole’s “Celebrity Skin.” Last summer, Tyga dropped a video for “Mrs. Bubblegum,” however, he did land in legal trouble afterward as he was later arrested on felony domestic violence charges.

Doja Cat Has Mixed Feelings About Possibly Hosting ‘SNL’ One Day

Doja Cat is one of the most entertaining personalities in music, so naturally, fans and friends would love to see more of her outside of singles and albums. She’s a hoot on social media, but some have wondered how she’d fare on the Saturday Night Live stage as a host. It turns out that’s something Doja has given some thought to, and the prospect both excited and intimidates her.

In a new Billboard interview, Doja was asked if she’d want an SNL hosting gig and she replied, “I like the idea of doing that because I love, obviously, to tell jokes. But it’s a little nerve-racking because it’s something friends have suggested to me, [doing] stand-up or comedy. That would kind of be my first gig. Just the thought of that terrifies me a little bit.”

Speaking of SNL, one of the show’s icons is somebody Doja would like to meet, as she said, “I really want to meet Tracee Ellis Ross — and at the same time, I’m terrified because, to me, she’s the boss at the end of the game of life that I’m living. Her and Maya Rudolph.”

She also discussed her relationship with social media, saying, “People are always like, ‘What’s your Finsta,’ and I don’t want one. I don’t like the idea of having to juggle social media, which already sucks as it is. Not to say it hasn’t helped me so f*cking much, but the way I feel about Instagram is: I go on, look at pictures of makeup and fashion and cats, and that’s pretty much it. I’ve unfollowed everyone who is a person that I know.”
