DJ Envy Fraud Accusations Prompt “The Breakfast Club” To Look For New Co-Host

DJ Envy’s fraud allegations have been a hot topic in hip-hop culture these days, whether among fans, artists, or his media peers. Moreover, it’s been quite the difficult situation to navigate, as his legal trouble is hard to ignore while on-air on a program. In fact, the media personality spoke to his fellow co-hosts on The Breakfast Club about the debacle, even if it was against his attorneys’ advice. It seems like he just wanted to address everything as publicly as possible, defend and clear his name, and be transparent. Unfortunately, if a new job posting is to be believed, the commentator might not get a chance to speak on it again for a while- at least, not as co-host of The Breakfast Club.

Furthermore, iHeartMedia, The Breakfast Club‘s owner, reportedly put up a job listing for a co-host for the program via the Workday platform. Applicants would ideally boast at least three years of on-air radio experience, audio clips from previous on-air interviews, commentary examples, past announcements, and a four-year university degree. In addition, the company would prefer if it was a Communications or Broadcast Journalism degree, and the salary is between $130,000 and $330,000. So, if you think you have a shot, now’s your chance, however unfortunate it may be for DJ Envy. He even hinted at this by appearing for a recent episode via video call rather than in person.

DJ Envy Calls Into The Breakfast Club Amid Fraud Drama

Regardless of the gossip and drama, here’s what the Queens native had to say about these accusations against him. “Let me explain some things,” DJ Envy began, ignoring Charlamagne Tha God’s advice to trust his lawyers and zip up. “Listen, so Cesar and myself did seminars. Now the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate. Things that I didn’t know when I was first buying my first home. I wanted to teach our community about investing in generational wealth.

“I do understand how people feel if they gave him money. Because I gave him a lot of money,” he continued. “I didn’t see a dollar of return. For anyone to say that I was involved, that’s totally not true. I would never, I been on radio for close to 30 years, and never in my 30 years time did I do nothing but try to uplift people in different ways with a business mind. I would never take a dollar from somebody.” For more news and updates on DJ Envy and The Breakfast Club, log back into HNHH.

DJ Akademiks Clowns DJ Envy For Alleged Fraud Scheme: “He Can’t Even Read”

DJ Envy’s alleged fraud scheme is getting him into a lot of trouble these days, both with his fellow hip-hop commentators and with the law. Moreover, DJ Akademiks is the latest rap media personality to comment on The Breakfast Club co-host’s supposed involvement in a real estate Ponzi scheme. Not only did his alleged associate Cesar Pena recently fall under police custody, but authorities charged both for fraud-related crimes. No matter how you slice it, clearly things aren’t looking very good for Envy or his assumed business partners in all this. As such, Ak blasted him on Thursday (October 19) and wondered why people would ever trust someone like him- in his opinion- with any amount of cash.

“How do you let DJ Envy affect your financial decisions?” DJ Akademiks remarked. “Half the time I’m listening to The Breakfast Club, these n***as even can’t read what’s on the f***in’ paper. No disrespect to none of those people up there. I really like them. But these n***as can barely read what’s on the f***in’ Rumor Report. You think I’m giving them a million dollars? F**k no, man. You cr*zy as hell.

“These n***as can’t pronounce s**t, can’t read,” DJ Akademiks continued. “And I’m giving- nah, hell no! You bring some n***a who’s diabetic on here. The n***a got 10X T-Shirts, thinking it’s 2003. The n***a wearing Timbs, and the Timbs look like they’re squealing ‘Help me!’ Like, Jesus Christ! You gave that n***a $800,000?

“It took you 20 years to get it, you gave it to him in 20 minutes?” he concluded. “You might be the dummy! I’m sorry! You might be the dummy. That’s who I’m talking about, a ‘Donkey of the Day.’ I can’t feel too bad for you. Like, come on, bro. I ain’t gonna say I’m beyond getting got. But if you gonna get me, you gonna sound a lot smarter than me.” For more news and the latest updates on DJ Akademiks and DJ Envy, stay logged into HNHH.

Funk Flex Implicates Charlamagne Tha God In DJ Envy Real Estate Scheme

DJ Envy is certainly feeling the heat from the feds right now as they continue to investigate his involvement in a messy real estate fraud scheme. The media personality maintains his innocence there, but that hasn’t stopped his contemporaries from laying into him. Most notably, Funk Flex has had his foot on Envy’s neck non-stop as updates on the investigation continue to come out. As Akademiks pointed out in his coverage, the beef is reminiscent of previous spats between Hot 97 and Power 105.1 in the 2010s.

“Imma tell you the question of the day, of the week, of the month,” Flex told listeners earlier this week. “Mr. Real Estate RICO. Did you know that Ceasar was a crook? Or were you too d*mb to know that he was a crook?” Much to people’s amusement, the 55-year-old added bomb sound effects after virtually every statement for dramatic effect.

“Either way, you don’t win,” Flex put Envy on blast for his ignorance. “According to a lot of label people – let me tell you something New York – there’s three people involved. There’s Real Estate RICO, and there’s Lesser Charge Leonard, the pedophile,” he added, seemingly looping Charlamagne Tha God into the situation. “Then you got Ceaser, who was arrested last night by the feds,” Funk further antagonized his nemesis, who’s still waiting to find out what lays in store for his future.

Despite warnings from those around him, DJ Envy still failed to see the red flags in his recent real estate endeavours. As it turns out, Joe Budden once suggested to The Breakfast Club host that he could end up in jail for his actions – caution Envy clearly didn’t take seriously. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

DJ Envy Once Revealed How Joe Budden Told Him His Real Estate Endeavors Would Land Him In Jail

If you’ve been paying attention to the news, you may have seen that DJ Envy has gotten himself into some real estate trouble. It all started when people began accusing his business partner, Cesar Pina, of taking their money and not making good on investments. Essentially, clients say Pina stole their money. Envy was not accused of stealing money, however, he was accused of bringing clients to Pina. Moreover, the two held seminars on investing in real estate, which led to more clients willing to invest.

Yesterday, it was reported that Pina was arrested on wire fraud charges. Furthermore, he was eventually released on $1 million bond. It was also said that computers and electronics were removed from the iHeartRadio offices as part of an investigation into DJ Envy. This has led to fans digging up old footage of the radio personality. In one video, seen below, Envy can be seen and heard speaking about how many refused to invest in their real estate endeavors. As it turns out, one man was actually pretty prophetic.

DJ Envy In Newly-Surfaced Clip

The man in question is none other than Joe Budden. As Envy revealed, he called Joe to tell him about investing in real estate. Budden subsequently told him no. The reason? Well, Joe thought that the whole thing was just some sort of Ponzi scheme. Moreover, he told DJ Envy that he was probably going to prison. Of course, in retrospect, those comments seem like a genuine prediction rather than a joke. However, it is important to remember that nothing has happened to Envy just yet. There is still a large part of the legal process left to be played out.

During the same week that DJ Envy’s former business partner Cesar Pina was arrested for scamming investors out of millions of dollars in an alleged real estate Ponzi scheme, federal agents seize equipment from DJ Envy’s place of business in NYC as a part of the investigation.

On Wednesday(October 18), federal agents raided the iHeart offices and confiscated equipment from where The Breakfast Club morning show is aired, according to an NBC investigative reporter.

“An inside source tells us that the iHeartRadio offices were visited by the feds, who took out electronic equipment as part of this investigation,” said investigative reporter Sarah Wallace.

Earlier this week, New Jersey property investor and “Flipping NJ” founder Cesar Pina was arrested for wire fraud and released on a $1 million secured bond along with electronic ankle monitoring after appearing in a Newark federal court.

Documents reveal that the radio host and his former partner are being investigated for seminars they hed across the country, in which they are accused of using to lure in and defraud potential investors. Envy is being accused of using his social media reach to attract people with high investment returns, but ultimately milking investors out of millions of dollars.

Envy addressed the fraud allegartions on air, saying, “Let me explain some things…so Cesar and myself did seminars. Now, the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate. Things that I didn’t know when I was buying my first home. So I did these seminars and brought industry professionals to all these seminars, whether it was real estate agents from different markets, contractors, money lenders. I even brought Auction.com to actually show people how to purchase houses online.”

He continued, “Now Cesar, if he took money, I wasn’t privy to it nor did I even know. But I do understand how people feel if they did give him money because I gave him a lot of money that I didn’t see a dollar of return.”

DJ Envy & iHeartRadio Offices Investigated By Feds Amid Real Estate Scam Allegations: Report

In case you missed it, this morning, we reported on how DJ Envy’s business partner Cesar Pina was arrested in New Jersey. He was subsequently hit with wire fraud charges before being released on bond. Overall, this all stems from allegations that Pina was stealing money from real estate investors. He and Envy were hosting numerous seminars about investing in the real estate market. However, things fell apart when people began accusing Pina of taking their money and never giving it back.

As for Envy, he was never accused of stealing money directly. Instead, many are accusing him of introducing them to Pina, who then went on to steal the money. Due to Envy’s association with Pina, it would appear that the radio host is now under Federal investigation. According to a report from NBC, the iHeartRadio offices were visited by Federal agents who proceeded to take some electronic equipment with them. Just last week, Envy spoke on the case and proclaimed his innocence in all of it.

DJ Envy Real Estate Associate Hit With Fraud Charges

DJ Envy has been wrapped up in some pretty wild allegations as of late. Overall, it all stems from his association to Cesar Pina. The two were in business together as they sought to teach people how to invest in real estate. Pina has been accused of taking money from people and ultimately screwing them out of their investments. Although Envy is not being accused of doing the same, he does stand accused of funneling clients over to Pina.

According to RLS Media, Pina has been arrested on fraud charges in New Jersey. He was subsequently released on $1 million bond, however, he still faces wire-fraud charges. As of right now, DJ Envy has yet to make a statement on any of this. However, during an episode of The Breakfast Club last week, Envy did address some of the allegations. He noted that Pina took money from him as well and that he never saw a dime of his investments. Furthermore, he said that he only wanted to uplift his community and that he was never made aware of Pina taking cash from people.

Feds Arrest DJ Envy’s Business Partner Cesar Pina

Screen Shot 2023 10 18 at 9.22.48 PM

According to several reports, federal agents arrested DJ Envy’s former business partner Cesar Pina on Wednesday.

According to Tony “The Closer” Robinson, Pina, a.k.a. “Flipping NJ,” is accused of running a real estate Ponzi scheme. He is charged with scamming investors out of millions of dollars.

DJ Envy, real name RaaShaun Casey, is a co-defendant in multiple lawsuits filed by investors who say they were ripped off by Pina in an elaborate Ponzi scheme.

Envy and Pina held seminars to lure hundreds of investors to flip distressed properties for profit. But investors say Pina took their money and ran. DJ Envy also promoted the seminars on iHeart Radio’s popular Breakfast Club morning show.

Many victims said they invested with Pina because DJ Envy was his business partner and they trusted Envy.

But DJ Envy denied any involvement in the Ponzi scheme. He said he’s also a victim because he gave money to Pina.

Jose Santiago and his wife, Jessica Ortiz told News 4 they invested $200,000 in a Paterson, NJ property that Pina claimed he owned.

“He’s advertising this all over radio and television, so I thought this was legit,” Santiago said.

Nigel Chamblin said he invested nearly $1 million in several properties that Pina claimed he owned. But Pina didn’t own any of the properties.

“There were other people investing in these exact same properties,” Chamblin told News 4. “It was a scam, it was a lie.”

DJ Envy Goes Against Lawyer’s Advice, Makes Statement Against Rumored Involvement in Real State Scam

DJ Envy Goes Against Lawyer's Advice, Makes Statement Against Rumored Involvement in Real State Scam

DJ Envy said he is not a scammer, in fact, he was the one scammed. After making the news after being accused of providing a Cesar Pina with a platform to scam hardworking people, Envy hit The Breakfast Club to deliver a statement. Envy said his lawyer suggested he didn’t deliver the statement.

“Let me explain some things. Now, the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate. Things that I didn’t know when I was buying my first home. I did these seminars and brought industry professionals to all these seminars, whether it was real estate agents from different markets, contractors, money lenders. I even brought Auction.com to actually show people how to purchase houses online.”

Envy added, “if he took money I wasn’t privy to it nor did I even know. But I do understand how people feel if they did give him money because I gave him a lot of money that I didn’t see a dollar of return.”

You can hear it from Envy below.

According to NBC New York, DJ Envy used his position on The Breakfast Club on iHeartRadio to promote the scheme, which included seminars promoting the flipping of properties in underprivileged areas of New Jersey.

In a testament to the nature of the scheme was Jose Santiago and his wife, who claimed they wanted to invest in real estate to support a positive future for their children. After investing $200,000, their hopes and dreams appear to be gone.

The couple believed they would invest in run-down properties to renovate and flip, using equity from their Florida home as start-up money. Sadly, they never saw a dollar. Another man, Nigel Chamblin, stated $235K in one property and an additional $300K in two others.

”There were other people investing in these exact same properties,” Chamblin said. ”It was a scam, it was a lie.”

DJ Envy also states he lost half a million dollars, with his lawyer stating he is also a victim. He is contending daily with cases that are being filed improperly against him,” Massimo D’Angelo, Envy’s attorney, said.
