The cult classic hit sitcom “Martin” will be returning to television for a 90-minute reunion special.
BET+ announced the 30th year anniversary special will take place on the show’s iconic living room set. The reunion is bringing back original cast members Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold and Carl Anthony Payne the second to discuss the show’s five seasons.
Hosted by comedian Affion Crockett, the cast will look back on the show’s most hilarious moments, revisit the iconic characters Martin made famous and pay an emotional tribute to the late, great Tommy Ford. Thomas Mikal Ford passed away in 2016 at the age of 52.
Complete with musical performances and drop-ins by celebrity super fans, MARTIN: THE REUNION brings back the wazzup wazzup wazzup passion fans have been waiting for.
The reunion special is executive produced by Martin Lawrence, Robert Lawrence, Rae Proctor and Stacy Lyles through his company Run Tel Dat Entertainment.
“Martin: The Reunion” is set to debut on June 16 on BET+.
XXXTentacion fans are getting their first look at a documentary about the late rapper. Billboard exclusively unveiled the trailer for Hulu’s “Look At Me: XXXTENTACION” documentary film.
Xxx was killed in a botched robbery incident back in 2018.
The acclaimed director of the film, Sabaah Folayan told Billboard, “He didn’t necessarily win his battle before we lost him, but he gave us a space to talk about mental health and his internal struggle.”
“Look At Me: XXXTENTACION” explores how Florida teenager, Jahseh Onfroy became SoundCloud rapper XXXTentacion, one of the most streamed artists on the planet.
Through frank commentary from family, friends, and unseen archival footage, the director offers a sensitive portrayal of an artist whose acts of violence, raw musical talent and open struggles with mental health left an indelible mark on his generation before his death at the age of 20.
Award-winning director, Folayan is a basketball player, and activist from South Central Los Angeles. Her critically acclaimed first film, Whose Street? is a telling story of the killing of Michael Brown and the Ferguson uprising.
Her upcoming project and highly anticipated documentary about the gone too soon rapper, XXXTentacion releases on Hulu on May 26.

The Notorious B.I.G. estate dropped a major metaverse announcement on Christopher Wallace’s (Biggie’s) would-be 50th birthday on Saturday, May 21.
Biggie fans can enjoy The Notorious B.I.G. on Web3 via a hyperrealistic model of his likeness in a new metaverse activation called “The Brook.” Fans can register to be the first alerted to when they can enter this unique world.
The teaser of the Brook below features the voice of Mark Pitts, who managed Biggie in life and worked with the teams at Surreal, Zoan and Willingie to give an authentic voice to the creative direction of the metaverse.
“Being born and raised in Brooklyn, I wanted it to feel as close to the Brooklyn that helped raise me. The hyperrealism is authentic to that experience. As we expand, we will use that same authenticity in other cities,” said Pitts.
“Technology continues to create opportunities that are beyond one’s imagination and I’m excited that we are stepping into the future with a beautiful rendition of a hyperrealistic avatar of my son Christopher and I’m thankful for our wonderful team of creative partners for their work to deliver Biggie into new media for his fans to enjoy,” said Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace.
The late great cultural icon was born Christopher Wallace in Brooklyn, New York. The Brook, by definition, is a small stream or river that flows into other rivers that eventually flows into the ocean. The Brook is also a reference to the four-time Grammy nominee’s hometown and will be realized as a metaverse activation of hip-hop culture, lifestyle, music, entertainment, sports and fashion.
According to the release, the platform will encompass an immersive digital space, giving users the opportunity to experience and explore virtual worlds, buy tickets to and attend virtual concerts, purchase virtual and physical merchandise, buy virtual real estate, and buy, sell and trade NFTs. The platform will launch with The Notorious B.I.G. and then spread to other activations and talent.
The project, developed in partnership with ZOAN, Surreal Events, and Hyperreal, is tied to his hometown in Brooklyn, to deliver Biggie into a new media for his fans and give provide a new platform to experience the culture of Hip-Hop.

Variety is reporting that a series is in development from Covert Affairs creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord. Rumors have been happening for a while regarding the series coming back on the Disney streaming platform, with the two stars of the Netflix series popping up in various Disney projects recently.
Charlie Cox returned as lawyer Matt Murdock in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” with Vincent D’Onofrio returning to play villain Wilson Fisk in “Hawkeye.”
Netflix previously canceled their series in 2018 after three seasons. There is no word yet on casting or a release date.

Netflix is speaking out after Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage during one of their events this week.
Variety reports a spokesperson says the company cares deeply about the safety of creators. They added, that Netflix strongly defends the right of stand-up comedians to perform on stage without fear of violence.
The comedian was attacked Tuesday while doing stand-up at the Hollywood Bowl. Chappelle was performing at the Netflix is a Joke Festival in Los Angeles when an armed man jumped on stage and lunged at him, hitting him in the torso before running off. He brandished a knife that was attached to a fake gun. The assailant was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
The name of the man who attacked comedian Dave Chappelle on stage is being released.
TMZ reports the attacker’s name is Isaiah Lee. He’s being held on 30-thousand-dollars bail. Law enforcement revealed, the attacker actually pointed a replica of a semi-automatic at Chappelle as he rushed him. He also had a knife attached to the fake gun. The assailant was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Reportedly Jaime Foxx and Busta Rhymes quickly had Chappelle’s back getting licks in on the attacker whom was initially taken to the hospital via ambulance.
Fellow comedian Chris Rock joined Chappelle moments after it happened last night and said “Was that Will Smith?” He was referring to when Smith slapped him during this year’s Oscars.
The comedians were performing at the Netflix Is A Joke Festival in L.A.
Cardi B is set to guest star on Nickelodeon’s Baby Shark’s Big Show.
The 29-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper will be joined by both her husband Offset and daughter Kulture on the episode, which will air April 15th.
The character Cardi will play will be named Sharki B, fittingly. A press release from Billboard describes Sharki B as “the biggest star in the seven seas. Flashy, awe-inspiring, and ruthlessly fun—but always 100% herself.”
The whole family landed the animated gig on the special episode “The Seaweed Sway,” airing air April 15th. Offset will voice ‘Offshark’ described as, “a cool fish with a great vibe and a huge Sharki fan,” and Kulture will voice Kulture Shark ‘Offshark’s three-year-old daughter who is excited to attend Sharki’s big concert with her dad.
A new claymation video from Ye formerly, Kanye West shows him burying his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend Pete Davidson.
An animated music video was released this week for the new Kanye West song “Eazy,” feat. west coast rapper The Game, and it shows the 44-year-old rapper kidnapping a character that looks like SNL comedian Pete Davidson and burying him out in the desert.
The video was posted on West’s Instagram account yesterday, less than two hours after a Los Angeles County judge declared his former wife, Kim Kardashian, legally single.
The Skims founder filed for divorce over a year ago. She attended yesterday’s hearing by video link. Ye did not attend. However, his lawyer did not object to the divorce. He did say many legal issues still need to be resolved.
Kim Kardashian has been dating Davidson since October of 2021.
Megan Thee Stallion will soon be hitting the big screen, the H-Town Hottie is going virtual. Megan announced Monday that she is collaborating with AmazeVR for “Enter Thee Hottieverse,” the first-ever 10-city virtual reality concert tour.
According to the statement, attendees will receive a “Hottie Mounted Displays” VR headset and Meg will perform four songs in front of them.
After buying their tickets for te VR concert, fans will be able to go to their local movie theater, put on the provided “Hottie Mounted Displays” settle in, and hang out in the VR Hottieverse lobby before watching Megan.
“Virtual reality has always been an interest of mine and I’m glad that we’ll be able to make history with this experience,” the “Savage” rapper said.
“My hotties will get to watch me perform in a completely different and unique way and I appreciate the AmazeVR team for helping me to bring this VR vision to life. I can’t wait to see the Hotties show up to the tour.”
The VR concert performance will feature a multi-song set that moves through a series of environments as well as hot custom wardrobes designed just for the show.
