Diddy Sues Diageo for Shunning His DeLeón Tequila Brand

Diddy Partners with DJ Khaled to Announce New 'Diddy Direct' Platform

Diddy and his Combs Wines and Spirits LLC are taking Diageo to court, citing the spirits company has neglected his DeLeón tequila brand, a joint venture between the two. According to The Wall Street Journal, Diageo has directed its attention to two other tequila brands, one of which is the George Clooney-led Casamigos.

Included in the suit, Diddy notes Diageo exhibits racial discrimination by placing DeLeón in the “urban” category and also referring to the tequila as a “Black brand.”

In response, Diageo has disputed the allegations. A spokesperson highlighted the matter as “a business dispute,” and they are saddened “that Mr. Combs has chosen to recast this matter as anything other than that.”

According to court filings, Diddy and his company are seeking Diageo to comply with the terms of their 2013 joint agreement and additional statements to develop written agreements on further business.

The court docs also highlight a history of Diddy having complaints to Diageo, including out-of-stock products, limited distribution, and botched redesign. Additionally, in 2010 and 2021, Diageo allegedly did not provide agave to DeLeón during a shortage of the ingredient.

The DeLeón relationship flourished after the success of Diddy and Ciroc. The brand was purchased when it was little known, but Diageo already had Don Julio and would eventually add in Casamigos. All the while, the popularity of tequila skyrocketed in the American market, reaching over $11 billion in sales in 2022. Casamigos controls the market share for tequila purchases at a segment-leading 12%. Diddy’s DeLeón comes in at 28th, just .4% of all sales. Furthermore, DeLeón was only available in 3.3% of outlets as Don Julio was 36% and Casamigos was 34.4%.

“For more than 15 years, we’ve had a productive and mutually beneficial relationship with Mr. Combs on various business ventures, making significant investments that have resulted in financial success for all involved,” the Diageo spokeswoman said to the WSJ. “We are disappointed our efforts to resolve this business dispute amicably have been ignored, and that Mr. Combs has chosen to damage a productive and valued partnership.”

Last week, Diddy unveiled Diddy Direct, a groundbreaking platform designed to assist retailers and consumers in easily discovering, inquiring about, and purchasing any of the popular spirits from his Combs Spirits portfolio. This includes the entire range of CÎROC Vodkas, CÎROC Spritz, CÎROC VS, and DeLeón Tequila variants. With the recent introduction of the limited edition Cîroc Honey Melon, Diddy Direct provides a convenient way for consumers to locate and buy these products.

Diddy, a prominent music mogul, has had a significant impact on the industry with numerous massive hits under his belt. His extensive network and influence allow him to make things happen in the music world whenever he desires. Recently, rumors have been circulating about his alleged relationship with Yung Miami from the City Girls, which further solidifies his connections with prominent artists. It was only a matter of time before the City Girls and Diddy collaborated on a song or project.

Recently, the artists had teased a new track titled “Act Bad.” This references Yung Miami’s oft-used catchphrase. Surprisingly, it was also revealed that Fabolous would be featured on the song. While this may have been an unexpected addition, it certainly added an exciting element to the song. Since the announcement, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the track and speculating about its sound. Now that it’s been released, it’s clear that the track embodies the essence of a summer club anthem. Diddy is also going to unexpected lengths to promote the track and show appreciation to fans.

Diddy Gives Special Attention To Two Fans

In the new video above, posted by The Jasmine Brand on Instagram, two fans can be seen talking to Diddy from their car. The rapper leans on the window while the two women gush over him. Hilariously, they ask where Yung Miami is at one point. After a moment of interacting with them, Diddy walks away and gets something from his car. When he returns, he gifts the two superfans with a bottle of Deleón, his tequila brand. Diddy is all smiles as the fan in the driver’s seat taks a video of him next to the bottle. As he thanked them and walked away, the fan filming turns the camera towards herself and says “Rich b*tch sh*t.”

Many took to the comment section on the post to let their thoughts be known. “She got the camera all in his face smh,” one comment said. Others pointed out that the girls missed an opportunity because they were starstruck. “Oh baby they played that all wrong,” the user wrote. “They was star struck and missed the opportunity.” It’s not clear what opportunity the fan was talking about, but Diddy seemed pretty pleased to be talking to the fans in the video. Diddy & Yung Miami Labelled “Mr. & Mrs. Act Bad” On Miami Heat Game Jumbotron

After a consecutive few years of turning up during Hot Girl Summer, Diddy has come up with a more gender-neutral solution for the world, dubbing 2023 an “Act Bad Summer” along with the release of his latest single. The father of six linked up with Fabolous and the City Girls for the catchy new song, which is sure to be bumping in clubs all across the country over the coming months. Following the track’s premiere on New Music Friday (May 26), Sean Combs and his collaborators also unveiled the raunchy music video for it, which finds the Bad Boy founder dancing naked after a wild night of partying.

Despite the fact that Miami told The Cut she and Diddy went their separate ways earlier this year, the Caresha Please host has been spending plenty of time with the producer lately. Not only did they attend the Met Gala together, both dressed to the nines in custom designer duds, but on Saturday (May 27), they also stepped out for the Miami Heat game. The pair looked happy to be at the event when the jumbotron caught them sitting courtside, aptly labelling them “Mr. & Mrs. Act Bad.”

Diddy Took Yung Miami On A Lavish Shopping Spree And The Photo He Posted Was Priceless

Diddy, Fabolous, and City Girls are living the life of luxury on their new single, “Act Bad.” It appears that Diddy and Yung Miami of City Girls celebrated their collaboration in style.

In a clip Miami shared to Twitter, she is seen shopping at various stores, purchasing items like clothes and handbags, handing the cashiers credit cards and stacks of money. The video clip is synced with a portion of “Act Bad” — Miami’s verse, on which she raps. “He wanna sponsor my act bad / Double R, black bag, Tom Ford, black tags / Walkin’ out Chanel with a black bag / Yeah, it’s givin’ body bag, listen up, scallywags”

Though Diddy was reportedly declared a billionaire back in October of last year, he appeared to be worn out by all the shopping. It appears he covered the bill for the day, as Miami said “Thank you papiiiii” in her tweet.

But by the end of the day, it seemed like Diddy was just happy it was all over. He doubled down on his visibly frustrated reaction by sharing a screenshot of the video clip, in which he looked tired, but relieved to get out of the store.

You can check out the clip and Diddy’s hilarious reaction above.

Diddy Gets Straight-Up Naked In His, City Girls, And Fabolous’ Absolutely Wild New ‘Act Bad’ Video

Diddy is a notorious bad boy, City Girls can’t help but act up, and Fabolous has made the streets his family. So when all three musicians come together, it will surely be an epic party. On their new collaborative track, “Act Bad,” co-produced by Diddy himself, the group wants it to be known that the summer is theirs for the taking.

In the official visual for “Act Bad,” directed by Kid Art, all eyes are on Diddy and his “special friend,” Yung Miami, as they can’t keep their eyes and hands off of each other. As the recording artists race down the Miami highway in their exotic cars, endlessly party, and overly consume Diddy’s DeLeón Tequila, it is clear that they have no care in the world. At one point, Diddy is even full-blown naked.

JT raps, “When a broke hoe’s hot, that’s bad advice / And these n***** ain’t sh*t, act bad for life / They treat a good girl wrong, and a bad one nice / So act,” driving home the point that respectability politics or other’s opinions of her behavior doesn’t matter in the slightest.

The song’s concept is essentially the subtle art of “not giving a f*ck,” according to the mogul. In a video shared on Instagram, Diddy spoke about the single, saying, “[Fabolous, City Girls, and I] all teamed up together to drop the song of the summer. It’s gonna be an Act Bad summer.”

Watch the video above.

Diddy & Fabolous Link Up With The City Girls To “Act Bad” In Raunchy New Music Video

It’s no secret that Yung Miami’s lingo tends to catch on quickly both on the internet and in real life. One of the latest phrases she’s been using is “acting bad,” or “real bad,” ultimately inspiring her to team up with JT, Diddy, and Fabolous, to create what some are already calling the “song of the summer.” On Friday (May 26) the collaborators dropped off “Act Bad,” along with a wildly raunchy music video that sees the New York native dancing naked during an evening of wild partying.

“It’s going to be an ‘Act Bad’ summer,” Sean Combs declared in an Instagram post the day before dropping off his latest banger. As Hypebeast reports, the father of six has previously defined the phrase as “being free, enjoying yourself, letting go, and not giving a f*ck.” If nothing else, today’s Kid Art-directed visual perfectly emulates all of that, with the Bad Boy founder getting even wilder for the camera than his Florida-based friends.

Diddy Declares “Act Bad” The “Song Of The Summer”

Of course, Yung Miami and JT have their moments too, taking turns rapping the chorus for the camera while twerking and showing off their bodacious bodies. “Act Bad” marks the partner in rhyme’s first release of 2023, following their promise from a few months ago that this summer will mark the arrival of new music from the City Girls. They previously previewed a title of their own, called “Piñata” during Rolling Loud California, but opted to drop off their sure-fire hit with Diddy first.

Interestingly, the new joint effort comes just days after Caresha clapped back at a Twitter troll asking about upcoming releases from them. It remains unclear when they plan to give us more, but it likely won’t be much longer seeing as the three-year anniversary of City On Lock is quickly approaching. Do you have plans to “Act Bad” along with Diddy, the City Girls, and Fabolous this summer? Let us know in the comments, and tap into the NSFW music video on YouTube above.

Nicki Minaj And Yung Miami Are In A War Of Words Over ‘Gay Slang’ And Diddy Got Dragged Into It

On Wednesday, May 24, Yung Miami teased an upcoming episode of her Revolt talk show, Caresha Please, with Summer Walker, due to air tomorrow, May 25. Alas, that episode will likely not live up to Nicki Minaj’s reaction to the teaser.

“*Hits Diddy to advise him that a young lady on a show that appears on his network seems to have ‘borrowed’ a very popular #QueenRadio catch phrase* Puff, who representing u these days chile?” Minaj tweeted in response to Miami’s trailer. “I got my sh*t drafted in my HEAD B!CH @YungMiami305 talkin bout u got into some thangssss. Um chile, anyways, so…”

“Nicki @NICKIMINAJ what’s really the problem??? cause I definitely didn’t get that from you LOL,” Yung Miami promptly responded. “‘let’s get into some thing Chile’ actually is a gay slang Lmaooooo.”

That tweet was followed by another from Miami aimed at everyone following along: “Y’all b*tches stfu and get tf out my mentions with that dumb sh*t tf.” Nobody can claim that she’s not a clear communicator.

Meanwhile, Minaj fired back at Miami’s defense with, “Caresha now you know damn well [six cry-laughing emojis] ‘gay slang is the first go-to nowadays. Let’s discuss it on #QueenRadio chile. If not, I’m hittin Puff right now. You know he used to manage me right? Now it’s my man my man my man [cry-laughing emoji] Puff what up? Hit my line chi @Diddy.”

Minaj also posted a Twitter poll with the message, “Talkin bout ‘gay slang’ caresha please! Let’s ask the gays ms B*tch!!!! @YungMiami305.”

Miami said she’s “ready when you are Ms. b*tch” to join Minaj on her Queen Radio, to which Minaj said, “*stops typewriter* *Looks at the first legal draft* *rips it up* *Hears puff desperately calling my line* *Doesn’t answer* *gets my questions ready for Ms Caresha*”

Diddy hasn’t tweet a peep so far, but Miami spoke for him across two more tweets: “Yeah I’m On my way to his house im Finna call you when I get there. Desperately??? It’s never giving that Nicki [four cry-laughing emojis] let’s be fr.”

As context , Diddy recently updated the world on his and Miami’s fluctuating relationship status after they appeared at the 2023 Met Gala together earlier this month. “We’re dating, and we’re just enjoying ourselves,” he told Vogue.

Way back in February 2022, Miami said in an interview with The Morning Hustle that any beef — perceived or real — between City Girls and Minaj had been “let go.” Guess not!
