In an interview with PEOPLE published Wednesday (April 10), the football and baseball legend shared some surprising thoughts.

First off, he admitted that there’s “not one thing” that excites him about becoming a first-time grandfather soon, and that he’s still letting the news sink in. “I haven’t digested that whole thing yet,” Eli Manning’s co-signee told the publication concerning his daughter’s pregnancy with Jacquees. “I’m proud of my baby that she’s at least waited until her thirties to give me this gift of life.” Also, Deion Sanders revealed that his top priority is to make sure that “she’s straight emotionally and psychologically as well.”

When Deiondra shared the news of her pregnancy, she stated that it was “not planned nor expected,” and had the following to say about her relationship with Jacquees. “I’m not having my baby to keep a man. I am having my baby for all the times I was told I wouldn’t be able to.” “God is overly good!” he captioned a post of some sonogram pictures. “Colossal Blessings on the way!! Last week, a Twitter war popped off between Dreezy and Deion Sanders’ daughter, Deiondra. At the time, Deiondra was in a relationship with Dreezy’s ex Jacquees, which appears to have gone down the drain since. It all started with some shady Tweets, and ended with Dreezy unveiling a series of damning alleged texts from Jacquees.

“Why would he switch out a dime for a penny,” Deiondra wrote. “Obsessed is when you still sending underwear with your face on it to the crib.” Dreezy fired back with full force, highlighting ongoing rumors that Deiondra was pregnant with Jacquees’ child. “Obsessed is y’all having a baby on the way but the n***a begging to get me pregnant [because] he barely fwu bird brain,” she responded.

Dreezy Teases “B*tch Duh”

Unfortunately, things only escalated from there. Dreezy went on to post screenshots from an alleged conversation with Jacquees, in which he seemingly tells her he’d rather be with her than Deiondra. “I want you I don’t want her,” he allegedly wrote. “You are my true love. Seriously. And I need you to help me. Sex does NOT define LOVE. And if you tryna find love in SEX you finna f*ck everybody. Kids do not define a FAMILY. I WANT YOU DREEZY.” For obvious reasons, Deiondra says she was “heartbroken” over the revelation. Based on her latest Tweets, however, she appears to be well on her way to moving on.

Dreezy, on the other hand, recently teased what seems to be a Deiondra diss track, “B*tch Duh.” The song contains lyrics that appear to reference the debacle, and the full version is “Coming Soon.” Jacquees similarly teased an upcoming track called “We’re Both To Blame” this week as well. Deiondra Sanders is the first of two kids shared by Deion Sanders and Carolyn Chambers. Born on April 17, 1992, she is also the eldest of all the former athlete’s children. Although her parents have since separated, they both raised her lovingly together. Growing up, Deiondra traveled all over the place with her parents. While all the movement hindered her from making many friends, she acknowledged that it was a great experience regardless.

The first of their children, and Deion’s second son, Shilo, was born on February 9, 2000. Another talented sportsman, Shilo has been playing football for many years now. However, unlike his brother, he seems to be interested in seeing it through and building a career in the sport. The 23-year-old played at the University of South Carolina for two years before transferring to Jackson State University in 2020. While there, he was coached by his father and remains under his tutelage at the University of Colorado where they both currently are. Besides his blossoming sports career, Shilo has an impressive online presence and has taken on a few modeling gigs.
