Whenever Ice Spice is met with either fair or exaggerated criticism online, she always knows exactly how to effectively clap back… for the most part. Still, given her most recent response to a Twitter user, fans expressed disappointment in her choice of retaliation. “Either let her work with someone who can help with her performing and stage presence or send her back to the Bronx. Pls,” the critical listener captioned a video of the New York rapper performing her latest single, “Think U The S**t (Fart).” Then, she retorted with, “while we’re being constructive-” and posted a picture of the woman who roasted her live show, specifically a mirror selfie.

Furthermore, in comparison to Ice Spice’s other clapbacks, many fans took issue with the lack of clarity here. Is she insulting her looks, her outfit, her body, her camera angles… or is it all of the above? In any circumstance, some folks thought the 24-year-old took things too far and might even be fat-phobic if she meant it as a dig to her body. Perhaps she didn’t take this seriously in the first place and just wanted to troll a fan, but it’s fair to say there are much better ways to make your message clear without it being at the expense of someone’s physical appearance.

In fact, she should probably focus that energy on her alleged rap opponents instead of towards potential fans who just want quality entertainment and don’t deserve the smoke. Of these potential match-ups, the “Deli” hitmaker’s current big target seems to be Latto thanks to speculation over back-and-forths via song snippets and social media responses. It’s all just in the rumor mill for now, but if something concrete happens, it’ll surely cause pandemonium in the rap game.

Well, on her end, because fans are no less prone to leaving negative comments and criticisms on social media as a result of her new diss track towards Megan Thee Stallion, “Big Foot,” and the meltdown that she engaged in and targeted against others. Moreover, the Trinidadian MC published a video in the late hours of Thursday night (February 1) of her just vibing out to the song. While there were plenty of Barbz in the comments section, there are also a lot of folks tired of seeing her lash out in this way or that think she’s making things worse for herself.

“the fall off nicki is a hard watch,” “So y’all just gonna ignore the wig cus she nicki ?” and “you still have time to delete this …” were among the most popular comments in terms of likes under this Instagram video. But does Nicki Minaj deserve this backlash for pushing a rap beef and calling out alleged industry wrongdoing? Unfortunately for her, it goes far beyond that: the “Megan’s Law” bar on Meg’s “HISS,” salacious claims with no evidence so far, and threats against other entities, industry peers, and higher-ups. Add on top of that a Ben Shapiro endorsement and many fans are expressing disappointment online.

Still, this is the woman who wrote “Monster” and hit big with “Everybody” recently; things will die down, many will forget, and the Barbz will go back to being the main participants in Nicki Minaj’s Internet presence. However, that will only come when she moves past all this in a significant way. After all, Megan Thee Stallion seems quite unbothered by the whole thing for the ‘Gram, so it’s unlikely at press time that she will respond with another song. Couldn’t the 41-year-old claim this as an automatic victory and just move on, regardless of what fans think?

Meanwhile, with the commercial performance of “Big Foot” seemingly declining, that will likely determine what will hopefully be the last battle of this war: the sales for each combative record. He recently revealed that he won’t accept less than $250K for a feature, for one, prompting social media users to accuse him of lying. He’s also made some questionable comments about Africa, compared his hometown of Philly to Gaza, and more.

According to Meek Mill, however, he’s simply trying to share his experiences to prevent others from making the same mistakes he has. He recently shared a Tweet calling to, “get the hatred out the black community.” This prompted one social media user to point to his lyrics. “Your music encourage this mean cycle. You can’t have it both ways killa,” they wrote.

Meek Mill responded, arguing that he simply raps about the things he’s experienced. “My music reflects my reality of my memory and trauma of what I been through,” he replied. “I rap about all topics.” In a subsequent Tweet, he explained that although he’s grown over the years, that doesn’t change who he is or where he comes from. He also notes that his lyrical content makes sense considering his past, despite his growth.

While he vehemently denies this, arguing that he’s simply in a new era of his career, the track remains controversial.

During a recent interview with VladTV, yet another peer has weighed in on Lil Nas X’s latest pivot, Yung Joc. According to him, the performer had a good thing going for himself with “Old Town Road,” giving young boys someone to look up to outside of rappers and R&B artists. Yung Joc then notes how he made waves with his “Montero” video, shocking viewers by getting frisky with the devil.

T.I. and Tiny Harris’ 19-year-old son often finds himself at the center of controversy, whether it surrounds his behavior, familial relationships, or online antics. Most recently, he’s been called out for a clip of himself enjoying ramen noodles out of a makeshift aluminum foil bowl.

“I done ran out of bowls. I done made me an aluminum foil bowl,” he says in the clip. “Figure it out, man.” Commenters are out in full force accusing the up-and-coming rapper of pretending like he’s ever had to rough it, and expressing confusion over his apparent attempts to hide the fact that he grew up privileged.

Several users also point out that those who actually grew up in difficult circumstances probably wouldn’t waste so much aluminum foil. Instead, they argue that they’d simply find another makeshift vessel to use. “Real hood ppl don’t run out of bowls…..we turn containers into bowls, cups into bowls, jars into bowls, maybe even a pot into a bowl,” one user claims.

King’s parents have called him out for similar behavior in the past, namely during their infamous Atlanta Falcons game spat. Benny The Butcher Praises Hit-Boy In Responses To His Haters

Benny The Butcher has never been shy from responding to haters online, even when they’re his own fanbase criticizing his work. However, in his latest barrage of Twitter replies on Thursday (January 18), he decided to target people disrespecting Hit-Boy’s name, who is one of the most essential producers in his entire catalog. The two brought us the 2020 album Burden of Proof and other collab tracks, and Hit -– along with The Alchemist -– will produce the Black Soprano Family boss’ next project, Everybody Can’t Go. As such, there is no way that he will tolerate attacks on the beatmaker’s talents, or take them seriously.

“It’s gonna be a whole lotta this 1/26 lol That’s why EVERYBODY CANT GO is the perfect title,” Benny The Butcher wrote. Specifically, he included a screenshot of one fan who said an unnamed song would be disappointing based on a snippet because Hit-Boy produced it. When someone else pointed out that it’s The Alchemist (and the critic changed his mind), the other commenter asked why a song’s producer’s name determines whether it’s good or not if you already have an opinion on the beat “That’s the reason I call these fools nerds and say they’re opinions ain’t worth dog s**t.”

Amid the chatter, producer Oprah Winfrey has been met with a great deal of criticism, with countless fans arguing that she’s to blame for the cast being compensated unfairly. According to Henson, however, the controversy has started to overshadow the film, which she notes is all about “sisterhood.”

“I hope they can focus back onto this film,” she told Today.com of the rumors. “Because right now, to me, it feels like what I said is now becoming louder than this beautiful film… And that’s not fair to me, or anybody in the film,” she explained, “because the film deals with women who are oppressed — who live in an oppressed system. Men and women. And all the characters in that film except for the white people. So that movie is about healing. That movie is about sisterhood.”

Joe Budden recently shared his thoughts on the festivities on an episode of his podcast, echoing KRS-One’s criticism. According to him, the Hip Hop 50 celebrations he saw lacked hip-hop, which made them pointless in his eyes.

“I hate all them sh*ts,” Budden began. “They coulda celebrated Hip Hop and honored Hip Hop, which is what KRS-One was saying. He was saying, ‘Why would I show up to these events to celebrate Hip Hop and there’s no Hip Hop there?’” His criticism didn’t stop there, however. He went on to describe how some of the events even made him feel “depressed,” as seeing his favorite artists in rough shape was a disappointment. “That’s sad for me,” he added.

Lil Nas X has certainly kicked off his latest career pivot with a bang, but unfortunately, not everybody is here for his “Christian era.” The hitmaker recently unveiled his new track “J CHRIST” following a few weeks of teasing and a tremendous amount of backlash. He first announced his “return to God” earlier this month, also suggesting that the “music industry tried to make [him] satanic.”

Famously, the Georgia-born performer gave the devil a lap dance in the music video for his 2021 hit, “Montero.” After that, he sparked controversy by releasing a pair of “Satan Shoes.” The shoes, which each contained a drop of human blood, were released later that year. Needless to say, his current journey took fans and critics alike by surprise, and they’ve made their opinions known.

The chatter has left him fed up, as he feels that there’s nothing he can do to change critics’ minds. He recently took to Twitter to air his frustrations, responding to a user comparing him to Andrew Tate. “Men like Tate are shunned and silenced,” they wrote, “While boys like Lil Nas X are celebrated as IDOLS. The spotlight is reserved for SATANISTS who’ve sold their souls for money.”
