Master P’s Son Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Refrigerators From University

Master P’s son Hercy Miller was reportedly arrested by authorities for allegedly stealing refrigerators from the Southern Utah University (SUU) campus, according to PEOPLE. Moreover, police also reportedly arrested two other students for the alleged crime, which they claim consisted of stealing two refrigerators worth $1,500 each from the loading dock of the campus bookstore. The arrest – which took place on November 27 – stemmed from one count of theft, and all students play on the SUU Thunderbirds basketball team. The rapper and hopeful NBA coach is probably not very happy about all this, but he hasn’t said anything about it as of writing this article.

Back to the alleged crime at hand, security footage reportedly shows Master P’s son and his colleagues putting the refrigerators into their vehicles on November 11. In addition, police reportedly spotted the appliances in two men’s apartments and in the third’s garage, but Miller and his friend said that they thought staff was throwing the refrigerators out because they were on the loading dock for “almost a month.” One of the alleged perpetrators claimed that he thought that the refrigerators were good to take because staff was allegedly throwing them away. This is slightly ironic given the completely unrelated legal advice that the New Orleans rapper recently gave.

However, one of the alleged perpetrators admitted that he helped put the refrigerators in the vehicles, but placed the blame of the whole operation on another perpetrator. We’ll see if Master P himself says anything about his son’s alleged crimes. Elsewhere, he’s dealing with some legal issues of his own, such as his lawsuit alongside Snoop Dogg against Walmart for allegedly sabotaging their cereal brand.

Also, Master P loves to chime into hip-hop occasionally, especially the Super Bowl halftime show controversy in his hometown of New Orleans. “Salute to Kendrick Lamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved,” he shared on Instagram. “He’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now. As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here. #Godisgood Change starts with us.”

Young Thug Breaks His Silence On 15-Year Probation Terms

Young Thug remains pretty quiet and low-key after his release from prison on 15-year probation terms, but we recently got signs here and there that concern his potential thoughts. Moreover, he recently called his attorney Keith Adams while the lawyer was on a livestream with TheFitLawyerATL, during which he thanked fans for their support during the YSL RICO trial. It was pretty heartening to see Thugger throw a peace sign to viewers, and he seemed to be in pretty elated spirits. That’s because he actually joked about his current conditions, asking both legal experts to “get [him] off the probation.”

“Hold off on the attorney-client conversations,” Young Thug’s lawyer Keith Adams responded to his distaste for his probation. Elsewhere, the Atlanta rapper asked Adams to look into some pictures of some missing jewelry from his arrest in May of 2022. The attorney affirmed that he would do that and also told Thug that he would call him later when he’s not busy. For those unaware, his probation includes thousands of dollars in fines, 100 hours of community service, a ban from the Metro Atlanta area for ten years, and other conditions.

Young Thug Speaks To His Lawyer About Probation

Thugger joins the livestream at around the 1:12:56-minute mark.

“I’m totally against that, because this is where he’s from,” Young Thug’s father Jeffery Williams Sr. relayed to press outside the courtroom regarding his son’s probation conditions. Particularly, he expressed frustration to the Metro Atlanta ban. “And to have a district attorney take that away from him that isn’t a resident from here… She’s from another state, and to see her take a man away from where he’s from, to have to go live somewhere else? That’s offensive to me.” However, some more positive news also emerged, as multiple YSL RICO trial jurors praised Jeffery Williams.

“I honestly didn’t know anything about his music,” one juror shared about Young Thug in a YouTube video. “And to be honest, the way that they presented him in his trial… They wanted him to look in this negative light. But I saw somebody who kinda pulled himself up, got himself out of the position that he was in and tried to help other people around. So it actually shined a more positive light in my eyes than what the state was trying to present. I wish him continued success with everything.”

Lizzo Scores Major Legal Victory In Harassment Lawsuit Saga

Lizzo’s reputation took a hit in 2023. Three of the singer’s former backup dancers filed a lawsuit detailing her allegedly bad behavior. Lizzo was accused sexual and racial harassment, as well as assault, disability discrimination and weight-shaming. These allegations would be damaging for any artist, but Lizzo’s role as a promoter of body positivity in the public eye made them particularly scandalous. The singer denied these allegations outright. Fortunately for her, the law has worked in her favor.

Lizzo had several claims against her dropped on Thursday, December 5. California court documents stated that U.S. labor laws do not apply to Europe, which is where several of Lizzo’s allegedly abusive actions took place. Asha Daniels, the singer’s former stylist, accused her of unpaid overtime, as well as the aforementioned racial and sexual harassment. The judge handling the case claimed that they found no proof of Daniels working overtime. Furthermore, the setting of these accusations mean they do not carry legal weight in the United States.

Lizzo Allegedly Plans To Fight The Lawsuit Further

“These allegations do not establish plausibly,” Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha noted. “That any portion of plaintiff’s claim arose from work performed in the United States or qualifying territories.” This is a huge break for Lizzo, who has spent almost two years denying the allegations made against her. A source who is close to the singer, however, claims that there’s still more to be done. The source claimed Lizzo is very much committed to clearing her name and proving that she is not guilty of the heinous acts she’s been accused of.

“There’s a reason that Lizzo continues to fight long after most public figures would have settled,” the aforementioned source claimed. “Because these allegations are false and can’t be allowed to stand. She is not going to stop fighting until every single one of these ridiculous smears is dismissed.” Lizzo’s music has been less prevalent than her social media presence in recent months. The singer’s weight loss has turned heads, as did her appearance on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 live stream. Fans claimed she breathed heavy during the stream, but she clapped back and claimed Cenat was the culprit.

Lil Durk’s Lawyer Refutes Theory That He Referenced Murder-For-Hire In Lyrics

Lil Durk is in serious legal trouble. The controversial rapper has been charged with murder-for-hire after being accused of allegedly targeting fellow rapper Quando Rondo. The latter was not killed, but Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was. Lil Durk’s legal team is not going down without a fight, however. Durk’s legal representatives issued a statement on December 5, criticizing the prosecution for their emphasis on rap lyrics.

Lil Durk has multiple attorneys working for him at the moment. Drew Findling, Christy O’Connor, Marissa Goldberg and Jonathan Brayman are working to free the rapper, and they sent an email to Newsweek in which they detail their confidence moving forward. As far as they are concerned, when the prosecution has to rely on rap lyrics as a means of evidence, than there is not a lot of evidence to begin with. “When you see an artist’s rap lyrics quoted as ‘evidence’ against them,” they explained. “It is a glaring indication that there is no real evidence against that person.”

Lil Durk’s Lawyers Claim There’s “No Real Evidence” In Song

The lyrics in question come from the Lil Durk song “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy.” The 2022 release sees the Chicago star “rapping about revenge” in a series of aggressive bars. Prosecution claims that Lil Durk was using his voice and his status within the rap industry to “commercialize” the death of Robinson. “Told me they got an addy (go, go) / Got location (go, go),” Durk rapped. “Green light (go, go, go, go, go) / Look on the news and see your son / You screamin’, ‘No, no’ (p**sy).” The prosecution believes Durk is explicitly referencing news coverage of Robinson’s death.

The rapper’s lawyers, meanwhile, feel this is a very thin connection to make between him and the late Robinson. “The claims in the indictment against Mr. Banks are false and lacking in the most basic due diligence,” they added. The team told Newsweek that they are not concerned about the subject matter of Lil Durk’s music. Furthermore, they are eager to prove that the rapper was not involved in the alleged murder-for-hire scheme for which he’s been charged. “He is looking forward to fighting against these false allegations in court,” they concluded.

Young Thug Is Getting High Praise From YSL RICO Trial Jurors

Young Thug received some high praise from members of the jury for the YSL RICO trial after the case finally wrapped up, earlier this week. Two of the jurors discussed the acquittal verdict with Melanie Goolsby on her YouTube show, I’m Not a Lawyer But…, as caught by Meghann Cuniff. In doing one, one of them spoke very highly of Thug.

“I honestly didn’t know anything about his music. And to be honest, the way that they presented him in his trial… They wanted him to look in this negative light,” she said. “But I saw somebody who kinda pulled himself up, got himself out of the position that he was in and tried to help other people around. So it actually shined a more positive light in my eyes than what the state was trying to present.” She added: “I wish him continued success with everything.”

In a separate interview with WSB-TV, as caught by HipHopDX, Jury foreman Jason Collins explained that the state’s decision to use Thug’s lyrics against him didn’t sit well with him. “I believe in freedom of speech, regardless of if we agree or disagree,” he said. “It’s a very thin line to take lyrics and put them into trial. [Young Thug] is an artist, he’s expressing himself, and I think that weg o into a slippery slope when we start to analyze lyrics and music. That is something that I have to disagree with wholeheartedly. I personally don’t believe that lyrics should have been brought into the format.”

Jurors Reflect On The YSL RICO Trial

Thug got out of jail after taking a plea deal in the case, which results in him spending the next 15 years on probation, among several other restrictions. The historically lengthy trial finally wrapped up with the not guilty verdict of Yak Gotti on Tuesday. Check out the jurors’ full comments on Young Thug below.

Young Thug Claims Online Support Kept Him Going During Trial

Young Thug is a free man. The rapper underwent the longest criminal trial in Georgia history and came out the other hand intact. The music world has celebrated his return since Halloween, and many artists are eager to reunite with Thugger on record. Several of them voiced their support for the rapper upon his release. That said, Young Thug had one particular group in mind when asked who helped to keep him going. He credited the fans during a FaceTime conversation with his lawyer.

Young Thug’s lawyer, Keith Adams, was discussing the case during a YouTube interview. He decided to FaceTime Thugger in the middle of the interview, and give him a chance to communicate directly with the fans. “It kept me going,” Thug said, when asked about the unwavering support from fans. He also joked with Adams about wanting to get off probation. This impromptu FaceTime is one of the first times that Young Thug has openly talked about the struggles he endured during the trial. It’s also one of the first times he addressed the fans, and the role they played in championing him.

Young Thug Joked About Wanting To End His Probation

Thugger’s graciousness is a far cry from the way his father feels about other rappers. Jeffrey Williams, Sr. went on the Nothing But the Truth podcast and blasted artists for using his son for personal gain, and not making attempts to aid his case. “If the shoe was on the other foot he’d have been fighting for you,” the rapper’s father asserted. “He would have been fighting for you, hands down. Without trying to make a prop for his name so he could get some clout… Let’s be real with this s**t.” Williams, Sr. called out T.I. in particular, despite the fact that T.I. and Thug appear to be on good terms.

The other notable instance of Young Thug speaking publicly since his release was during an appearance at Emory Law School in Atlanta. The rapper FaceTimed another one of his lawyers, Brian Steel, and made it clear that proper legal representation saved his life. “I think you guys should become lawyers,” he told students. “I think it’s very important to help people out of the situations they’re in the best you can.”

Lil Durk Co-Defendant Seeks Protective Order Over Safety Concerns

One of Lil Durk’s co-defendants in his ongoing federal murder-for-hire case, Kavon London Grant, has filed for a protective order after expressing concern about the safety of witnesses, victims, and defendants. He says that the public having unregulated access to sensitive information regarding to case could be a problem. Grant’s attorney, Peter C. Swarth, explained in a filing caught by AllHipHop

“This case involves significant safety concerns regarding disclosure of names and personal identifying information of victims, witnesses, and defendants,” Swarth said on Tuesday. He added that the sensitive information encompasses crime scene photographs, autopsy reports, and statements from protected witnesses. He’s worried about acts of retaliation or intimidation and in turn, wants strict limits on who accesses the documents.

Authorities arrested Lil Durk and his Only The Family co-defendants back in October for allegedly orchestrating an attempted murder of rival rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. They describe OTF as a “hybrid organization” that also functions as a criminal gang in addition to a music collective. “Banks [Lil Durk] put a monetary bounty out for an individual with whom Banks was feuding named T.B.,” the complaint reads, as caught by Billboard. “Banks ordered T.B.’s murder and that the hitmen used Banks and OTF-related finances to carry out the murder.” Prosecutors further alleged that the attempted killing was in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von.

Durk currently remains in federal custody and faces life in prison if convicted on all charges. United States marshals arrested him in South Florida as he allegedly attempted to escape the country. They claim he had several flights lined up at the nearby airport. His trial is set to begin in January 2025. Be on the lookout for further updates on the case on HotNewHipHop.

Jhene Aiko Wants “Mocking” Deposition Footage Withheld In Car Crash Case

Jhene Aiko was involved in a car accident in 2022, and is currently entangled in the legal aftermath. The singer was deposed by the lawyer representing the plaintiff on video. She feels as though the lawyer in question mocked her, however. In Touch Weekly reported that Jhene Aiko objected to the taping of her deposition due to her celebrity status. The objection fell on deaf ears, though, as the deposition carried on as planned. Aiko is now taking preventative measures to ensure that the video does not get into the hands of the public.

Jhene Aiko is a Grammy nominee who has worked with some of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B. Unfortunately, her celebrity status worked against her when she requested the deposition not be taped. The lawyer representing the plaintiff dismissed the request. He claimed that her status and the insurance that she presented to the court did not match up. “We are entitled to a deposition of your client in our office. And we are well within our rights to videotape the deposition,” the lawyer asserted. “Celebrities don’t get special treatment.”

Jhene Aiko’s Celebrity Status Was Mocked In Court

The lawyer was also surprised by the fact that Jhene Aiko only had “$50,000 of insurance coverage” when the car accident occurred. Aiko was accused by the lawyer of using her celebrity as a means of avoiding accountability. The notion seemed to stick with the judge presiding over the case. They decided that Aiko would not be getting any special treatment. Aiko’s initial request to not attend a deposition in person, given the relative lack of harm that was caused by accident, was also rejected. Once she was there in person, the plaintiff’s lawyer proceeded to mock her career achievements.

The lawyer urged Jhene Aiko to take “actions that would be consistent with her ‘celebrity’ status. I.e. getting insurance coverage that would match her alleged fame and fortune.” He urged her to prove her celebrity by settling the case with the plaintiff, Genelle Ligot. Despite this setback, Jhene Aiko’s lawyer is trying to ensure that the tape of the deposition not be made available to the public. The singer reportedly wants to avoid any “unnecessary embarrassment” as a result of the deposition, and her interactions with the plaintiff’s lawyer.

Young Thug’s Dad Goes Off On “Piece Of Sh*t” District Attorney After YSL RICO Trial Wraps Up

Young Thug’s father, Jeffrey Williams Sr., reaffirmed his disdain for Georgia’s District Attorney, Fani WIllis, after the YSL RICO trial finally concluded on Tuesday afternoon. Speaking with reporters outside of the courtroom where Yak Gotti was found not guilty, Williams Sr. discussed his prior criticism of Willis.

Williams Sr. began by saying that Thug is doing “great” after getting out of jail. “We’re still fighting out here,” he said. “It’s not over for us. I got another son and a grandson that was arrested about this case that I’m still fighting for.” When asked if he still resents the Georgia district attorney’s office, he explained, “I still feel the same way. It’s a piece of sh*t. We gotta get those people out of there. We want to continue to have justice, we gotta get them out of there.”

As for his previous criticism of the D.A.’s office, he said shortly after Thug’s release: “But the work that we need to do, foremost, for the city of Atlanta, Fulton County, we need to get rid of the poison that’s in our system — and that’s the District Attorney’s Office. So, vote [for] Courtney Kramer. I support Courtney Kramer to the fullest. I feel like she’s the best person for the job and it’s not because of what she said about us, it’s because she said that and she was in my company and never knew who I was.”

Young Thug Reflects On The YSL RICO Trial

Young Thug ended up taking a plea deal in the case back in October that resulted in another 15 years of probation. Other restrictions include being banned from the Metro Atlanta area for 10 years, not being able to make gang-related music, and more. Diddy Captures Key Win In Alleged Sex Trafficking Case

Diddy earned a minor victory in court, this week, with U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ordering the prosecution to produce a sworn affidavit vowing they are not the source of leaked information in the case. The order comes after Diddy’s legal team accused prosecutors of allegedly sharing sensitive details with the press, thus infringing upon the Bad Boy mogul’s right to a fair trial. Despite the accusation, they failed to get a gag order on the prosecution back in October.

In that ruling, Subramanian reemphasized existing laws prohibiting lawyers, investigators, and government agents from sharing non-public information with the media. “With this order in hand, both sides can make sure that anyone involved with this case or the related investigation understands what they are not permitted to disclose,” the judge wrote at the time, as caught by AllHipHop. “To be clear, this order isn’t based on a finding that there has been any wrongdoing thus far, as the Court has made no findings at this juncture relating to defendant’s allegations that information related to the case has been leaked. The point of this order is to help ensure that nothing happens from now on that would interfere with a fair trial.”

Specifically, Diddy’s lawyers have accused the state of leaking the infamous video of him attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie. CNN first published the 2016 footage, earlier this year. Prosecutors have argued they didn’t even have the video when the publication acquired it. “Without any factual basis, the leak motion seeks to suppress highly probative evidence […] by claiming that it was grand jury material leaked by government agents,” prosecutors wrote in a motion from October. “But, as the defendant is fully aware, the video was not in the Government’s possession at the time of CNN’s publication and the Government has never, at any point, obtained the video through grand jury process.”

Diddy is currently residing at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits trial. He unsuccessfully attempted to get out on bond on several occasions ahead of his trial on May 5, 2025. He faces charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering and has already denied the allegations.
