Kanye West is facing yet another lawsuit and this one went against him and his former chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos in U.S. District Court, according to new legal documents reportedly obtained by TMZ. Moreover, it accuses them of subjecting their employees to “forced labor and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment,” specifically those that formed part of the YZYVSN development team. For those unaware, that’s an app that Ye wanted to use to distribute VULTURES 1 and future installments instead of using streaming services like Spotify, and he also planned a porn venture that apparently is now scrapped. Regardless, he and Yiannopoulos allegedly abused their power over this development team in a very exploitative manner.

Furthermore, Kanye West and his former chief of staff hired an international developer group of various Black tech wizzes, a few of which were as young as 14 years old. The lawsuit accuses Ye and his colleague of falsely promising payment for these employees, forcing excessively long shifts through the night with no pay, and engaging in racist jabs and demeaning rhetoric. For example, they allegedly called some employees “new slaves,” a reference to the Chicago artist’s 2013 Yeezus track and a horrible way to treat your co-workers. According to court documents, this development team mostly worked remotely via platforms like Zoom and Slack.

This would be after they completed the app’s development and under the condition of both no complaints and full agreement concerning work conditions. Kanye West allegedly demanded NDAs from all of them and threatened to fire and not pay them if they didn’t sign, which complicated things. Minor developers had to sign “volunteer” agreements, according to court docs. In addition, white managers overseeing the operation would allegedly disparage employees with racist remarks and other attacks on their identity, such as Yiannopoulos sending a Black team member a Black emoji and calling a younger employee a school shooter.

Meanwhile, another bombshell claim concerns the inception of “Yeezy Porn” in late April of 2024, which Yiannopoulos actually resigned over. Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori allegedly sent someone in the app development team a file-sharing link with hardcore adult content, which the minors were allegedly not shielded from viewing. However, it’s important to note that Censori is not a defendant in this case. On May 1, the team allegedly showed one of the finished apps to Ye, although it’s unclear which one, and the lack of payment is what led to this lawsuit. The team seeks damages for unpaid wages, overtime pay, and emotional distress. At press time, no public response has emerged.

Moreover, the firm reportedly represents many music industry titans, and if this report is true, likely cut ties with him due to his various accusations and lawsuits concerning sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking. However, apparently this decision manifested at the request of another one of GSM&S’ clients, Lady Gaga. “Lady Gaga said she was leaving [the firm] if they didn’t drop Diddy. And she’s too big to lose,” an alleged insider told the publication.

Furthermore, this comes amid other news that the city of Miami has canceled its “Diddy Day.” Back to this specific case, Sean Combs allegedly knows Allen Grubman and was with GSM&S for over two decades. The firm reportedly involved itself in various successful stadium runs and catalog sales over the years with massive industry players like The Weeknd, Lil Nas X, and more. While no one has been able to confirm whether or not the recent shooting near Drake’s home in his Toronto neighborhood has anything to do with his beef with Kendrick Lamar, other rappers, or other conflicts in his personal life or multi-faceted career, it certainly wrapped up the K.Dot battle on a scary, extreme, and hopefully outlying note that, fingers crossed, doesn’t escalate into further violence. However, Boosie Badazz thinks the shooting could’ve been worse. During a recent DJ Vlad interview on VladTV, he called out the hypocrisy of rap fans wanting to see beef go hard and demanding fast responses to diss tracks despite real-life situations. The question the Baton Rouge rapper had for these individuals was this: what if Adonis had gotten shot instead of a security guard?

Furthermore, Boosie thinks that folks are too quick to celebrate or minimize the impact of violence when it doesn’t affect the famous people we know or innocent bystanders. This goes not just for rap beef, but violence in general in the music industry, local communities, and other spaces. Also, he suggested that the rampant social media discussion around rap battles can eventually lead to violence escalating, which didn’t happen before because folks had to actually do something horrible before seeing retaliation. Kodak Black’s baby mama drama just got a whole lot more complicated, as authorities reportedly arrested the mother of two of his kids, Maranda Johnson, for allegedly jumping his first baby mother Jammiah “Maya” Broomfield. Specifically, the reported charges are battery, burglary, and grand theft, and follows Johnson threatening Broomfield and Kodak online as well as smashing his car windows. If you recall, this incident occurred because the rapper was with Broomfield and their son the other day. Seems like everyone involved has some issues to sort out. Hopefully they do so soon for the sake of the families, because seeing things go to these lengths can be scary.

Furthermore, this comes amid a pretty interesting time for Kodak Black, who’s not dealing with many legal issues right now and seems in a much better place. As such, we hope that the patience and positive energies are there to handle this combative situation as well as possible. But in addition to this being a more tranquil time for the Florida MC, he’s also got a lot more to develop when it comes to his next career moves and how he will grow throughout the decade. Moreover, Boosie told DJ Vlad during his latest VladTV interview that he doesn’t really see his personal and social media issues with Kodak as “rap beef,” per se. The same goes for his feud with NBA YoungBoy, as he thinks that these spats and situations are pretty casual and aren’t indicative of any real issues. Of course, when Fif brings Sean Combs up online, it’s usually not in this context of financials and entrepreneurship at all, but rather a reflection on the current wave of lawsuits, accusations, scandals, and condemnations against the Bad Boy executive. But amid the G-Unit boss’ current legal battle with the liquor company Suntory Global Spirits, he reflected on the since-resolved dispute between Puff Daddy and Diageo. Apparently, they both have suffered at the hands of higher-ups, and you’d better savor this moment because this sympathy likely won’t last long.

“Puffy made Diageo a lot of money with ciroc, they were fine with that because he didn’t own anything,” 50 Cent shared in a recent Instagram post that spoke about his visit to Capitol Hill to discuss these issues and his Suntory dispute with Congressional and government figures. “Soon as he owns Deleón their relationship can’t work. I made @suntoryglobalspirits a lot of money with Effen soon as I own my own brands they did me dirty. They want black consumers, but they don’t want black business owners. True story.”

Now the legal process will play out publicly for everyone to see what really happened and how @suntoryglobalspirits would rather spend millions to protect and conceal criminal conduct instead of doing the right thing.”

As for Diddy, folks who were quiet or defensive on the matter were quick to turn on him as the world reacted to the Cassie footage, including Kim Porter’s father.
