Usher Breaks Down Into Tears During Final Las Vegas Show

Usher became emotional on stage during the final show for his Las Vegas residency on Saturday night. Before saying his goodbye to the crowd, following a two-hour performance that highlighted many of his most iconic songs, he reflected on the experience over the past two years.

“I remember the purpose that this offers, the opportunity that this offers for us to not see color, but to recognize culture, for us to not get caught up in our differences but see our similarities,” he said at the end of the show. “The fact that we love music, the fact that we love entertainment, the fact that we can just enjoy ourselves in this moment—that’s what God would want and that’s what we’re doing.”

It was a star-studded affair on Saturday night, as Usher has become accustomed to throughout the residency. Donald Glover, Floyd Mayweather, Scooter Braun, Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox, and even JAY-Z’s mother, Gloria Carter, were all in attendance. At one point during the show, Usher serenaded Mary J. Blige and H.E.R. “Oh Mary, y’all know I got a thing for older women, now,” he joked to Blige. He finished the night with a performance of “Without You.” Check out his emotional goodbye below.

Jennifer Hudson & Common Enjoy Usher Concert, Jacquees’ Girlfriend Stuns R&B Icon

Jennifer Hudson recently put her rumored romance on full display, stepping out with Common to enjoy an Usher concert over the weekend. As expected, Usher plucked Hudson from the crowd, enchanting her with his dance moves. She’s far from the first celebrity gal the R&B icon has serenaded in recent months, even earning himself the nickname “Mr. Steal Your Girl.”

He refutes the title, however, telling The Breakfast Club in September that men shouldn’t hold back from bringing their ladies to his shows. “I’m the guy who tells you, ‘don’t leave your girl around me.’ So you should come with your girl,” he explained. Obviously, Common took notes. He appeared to be in good spirits too, however, laughing as Hudson and Usher had their moment. While Usher certainly managed to sweep Hudson off of her feet, it looks like she had the same effect on him. He grew wide-eyed when he caught a glimpse of her figure, seeming taken aback by her beauty.

He didn’t hold back when sharing his appreciation for Hudson with the crowd, in typical Usher fashion. The hitmaker also recently went viral for his reaction to Jacquees’ girlfriend. He was audibly struck by her when he spotted her in the crowd, shouting, “Oooh!”

Jacquees looked stunned and slightly confused by Usher’s response to his partner, simply smiling as the performer held his chest in shock. Fans are finding both of their reactions hilarious, calling Usher a “menace” in the comments section. The “OMG” artist did give Jacquees a shout-out at one point in the show, perhaps making up for his less-than-discreet response to his girlfriend.

Ari Lennox Dons A Helmet At Her Show After Bottle-Throwing Incident

Ari Lennox recently learned the hard way that it’s not the best time to be a live performer right now. Moreover, we’ve seen a pretty common trend of concertgoers throwing things at artists for various reasons, of which most of them are quite disruptive or disrespectful. For example, as she opened up for Rod Wave on his tour recently, someone in the crowd threw a water bottle at her, which caused her to pop off on whoever did it quite aggressively– and understandably. However, it seems like the Dreamville singer found a temporary and fashionable security solution to this risk. During her opening set on this tour on Thursday night (November 30) in Oakland, she wore a helmet to protect herself from any serious flinging.

Furthermore, this happened as footage emerged of security confronting the girl who threw the bottle at Ari Lennox. In fact, they hilariously gave the bottle back to her, so perhaps even the strictest of guards keeps things professional where most of us would’ve thrown the bottle away. Regardless, she joked whether she should keep the helmet on, and it seems like her set went swimmingly after that. Not bad for someone who is typically known for bubbly and positive music to go from full-on fronting to playful aloofness.

Regardless, the “Get Close” singer recently acknowledged that these opening concerts have actually been quite difficult for her for a myriad of reasons. For example, she told Angela Yee during an interview that she notices how the crowd is there for Rod Wave’s more melancholy material, whereas she’s there to have a good time. “It’s hard,” Ari Lennox expressed. “It is because I’m opening up for young people and… You know what I realized? I think my music is a little too happy. And I mean no shade, right? But it’s too like, ‘Pressure,’ and his is, like, different. So, I think the people are just like, ‘What the hell is this happy s**t on here?’”

Meanwhile, the Washington, D.C. native is still as great of a performer as ever, and it’s great to see her overcome this with a smile on her face. As difficult as performing is for many artists, it’s also a trial by fire that they can choose to fuel or control. By that, we mean that fans are increasingly likely to throw things at artists, whether it’s something for them to sign or something to stir up some chaos. Falling into the latter camp is a girl who threw a bottle at Ari Lennox during her performance as part of Rod Wave’s tour. She popped off on her, and it was one of the more aggressive but still totally understandable responses to incidents like these we’ve seen as of late.

Moreover, now we have new footage to look at that shows security confronting the culprit who dared anger the “Get Close” singer. In the clip below, you can see how the girl presumably tries to explain what happened or fight back against the conclusion that guards had to escort her out. One hilarious detail towards the end of this short video is that the guard holds out her bottle for her to grab. Polo G Sues Concert Booking Company For “Outrageous Fraud”

Polo G is suing the European tour booking firm J. Noah B.V. for violating his intellectual property rights. He says the company “lied to the public” by continuing to promote shows “they knew would not occur.” In the lawsuit, his lawyers describe the behavior as “a shocking and outrageous fraud.” They filed the complaint in New York federal court on Monday.

“Bartlett’s counsel demanded that defendants immediately remove all uses of Bartlett’s client’s name and image from the website, from Instagram, and from all other social media channels,” Polo G’s lawyers wrote. “Inexcusably, defendants failed to do so, and ignored this demand entirely.” They added: “Even more egregiously, J Noah’s Instagram account continued to contain advertisements for alleged performances by Bartlett … that defendants are fully aware would not be occurring.”

In addition to those complaints, Polo G is also in the midst of a contract dispute with the company for canceling the shows. He says he had “no obligation to perform” at the concerts because he sustained an “injury that prevents him from performing.” His lawyers say the contract covered this potential scenario and that the company still owes him $495,000 in fees. Taking matters even further, the rapper’s legal team accuses J. Noah B.V. of the wrongful use of his “name, likeness and trademark” with their promotion of the shows.

“Through these knowingly false advertisements of fictitious concert performances using the Polo G Mark and Plaintiff’s image, Defendants have engaged in knowingly false advertising—thereby committing a fraud on the public and causing irreparable harm to the Polo G Mark and Plaintiff’s reputation,” Polo G’s lawyers wrote. According to AllHipHop, a fan took video footage of him jamming out and having a blast. The Memphis Grizzlies star guard is still in the midst of serving his 25-game suspension. That was handed down before the 2023-2024 campaign and it has really taken a toll on the franchise so far. His loss is certainly being felt on the court as well.
