The former has been doing plenty of press this fall, and in interviews with both Complex and Rolling Stone, the former correctional officer had few positive things to say about his contemporary. While sitting down with Speedy Mormon, Rozay said he “doubts” we’ll see him Fif develop a working relationship.

Meek Mill was also a part of the sitdown. He revealed that Ross predicted he and Champagne Papi would patch up their feud in a matter of years, which was proven true. “I knew what space he was in, and I knew where Drake was at,” the proud owner of the Promise Land recalled. Seeing as Rozay is Richer Than [He] Ever Been, both he and his Philadelphia-bred friend feel as though patching things up with Curtis Jackson at this point isn’t a worthwhile investment. “I ain’t got no jobs for him,” the Biggest Boss quipped.

Teezo Touchdown is becoming one of the greatest success stories in music right now. Over the past two years, his eccentric style and personality have made a lot of people love him. Many listeners most likely first heard his name back in 2021 on one of the biggest mainstream rapper’s projects. He made an appearance on Tyler, The Creator’s, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. Drizzy said, “Tonight I just heard some of the best music ever so I am happy and I will spare you little birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown.” Complex Music interviewed the genre-bending star about it. Teezo was incredibly honored and humbled by the praise, saying “Waking up to that, seeing that. Very high moment.” But, he kept it as real as possible. During a recent interview with Complex, the 24-year-old spoke on how that track became an organic hit thanks to people using it in social media trends. What’s more is that she said she didn’t really aim for it to have that effect, but is incredibly appreciative of the support and reception.

“That song got my heart,” Latto remarked to the publication. “That song was just so effortless. It was really all done in one day. I wasn’t trying to make the song of the summer. It’s a street record. It was fun. It was for the culture.” Of course, that could just be all talk, but if everyone knew exactly how to make a smasher, then the hits don’t become hits at all when compared to each other.

Speaking on the former, the Chicago native confirmed that she and the Queen of Rap have previously been in contact throughout their careers, though they have yet to collaborate on a project together. “I talked to Nicki a few times,” Palmer told Speedy. When he pressed her for more details surrounding the dynamic of their relationship, the Hustlers actress let out a laugh and avoided spilling too much tea. “I talked to Nicki, I didn’t record it though,” she said, seemingly throwing shade at some up-and-coming rap divas who have previously leaked audio from their calls with Minaj.

“Acid Rap”: Chance The Rapper On How His Iconic Mixtape Influenced Jack Harlow & Lil Uzi Vert

It sometimes feels like just yesterday when hip-hop heads all over were blasting Chance the Rapper’s “Cocoa Butter Kisses” from car windows at top volume. The uber-catchy, Vic Mensa and Twista-assisted song appears on the 30-year-old’s Acid Rap mixtape, which arrived back in 2013. In fact, this past weekend, the 14-track project celebrated its 10-year anniversary, for which Complex spoke with Chance about his past work and its undeniable influence, among other things.

“In terms of rap, like, there was not another album that had a song like ‘Chain Smoker’ on it or another album that had a song like ‘Everybody’s Something’ on it,” he told the outlet during their chat. “It was its own thing,” CTR added, though he did compare it to other huge arrivals in the same genre also released that year. Among them were Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With The Sound Off, Kanye West’s Yeezus, and Drake’s Nothing Was The Same. Additionally, J. Cole’s Born Sinner album came up in the discussion as well.

Chance the Rapper Reflects on His Influence

According to Chance, the sound he crafted on Acid Rap still holds up to this day and even continues to influence emerging artists – particularly those coming up out of the Midwest. “I think you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody that’s a year or two younger than me that wasn’t influenced by Acid Rap, even if they weren’t from [that area],” the father of two speculated. “Jack Harlow, Uzi Vert. People that are from opposite coasts and from other places still tell me, like, what the album meant to them at that time.”
