21 Savage Refuses To Describe Drake Friendship, Calls Doing So “Zesty As Hell”

21 Savage and Drake are two artists who have been working a lot with one another as of late. Overall, there is very good reason for this. Firstly, they are both at the top of their respective games. Secondly, they have a lot of common interests in terms of production choices and even subject matter. Last year, the two teamed up for the album Her Loss which proved to be a massive success. The album is up for a Grammy and fans are still bumping it. Moreover, the two went on an extremely successful tour together.

At this point, the two are good friends and that will stay true for quite some time. That said, you will not hear 21 describe this friendship, anytime soon. Recently, the artist was interviewed by Rolling Stone, which is where he was asked to talk about his relationship with Drizzy. 21’s response was very matter-of-fact, and quite frankly, a bit ridiculous. “I feel like describing male friendships is zesty as hell,” the artist said. It was a pretty wild thing to say, although some will always have that mentality.

Gender roles was something that was clearly on his mind during the interview. For instance, at one point he said: “Like in the argument, a man’s supposed to think more about what he say. I feel like a woman is supposed to cry, like, ‘Fuck this shit.’” Once again, this another statement that could very well come with some controversy. After all, gender roles and norms have been hotly debated over the last few years, especially. Only time will tell whether or not anyone is offended by the thoughts expressed in the interview.

Let us know what you think of 21’s remarks, in the comments section below. Did he say anything wrong or is there no controversy to be had here? Rick Ross “Doubts” 50 Cent Beef Is Squashable: “Everything [He] Does Sucks”

We’re always happy to see rappers putting their differences aside in favour of squashing any drama coming between them, but it seems that may never be the case for Rick Ross and 50 Cent. The former has been doing plenty of press this fall, and in interviews with both Complex and Rolling Stone, the former correctional officer had few positive things to say about his contemporary. While sitting down with Speedy Mormon, Rozay said he “doubts” we’ll see him Fif develop a working relationship.

Meek Mill was also a part of the sitdown. He revealed that Ross predicted he and Champagne Papi would patch up their feud in a matter of years, which was proven true. “I knew what space he was in, and I knew where Drake was at,” the proud owner of the Promise Land recalled. Seeing as Rozay is Richer Than [He] Ever Been, both he and his Philadelphia-bred friend feel as though patching things up with Curtis Jackson at this point isn’t a worthwhile investment. “I ain’t got no jobs for him,” the Biggest Boss quipped.

Rick Ross Has No Plans to Squash 50 Cent Feud

Elsewhere, Ross told Rolling Stone his hot take that “everything 50 [Cent] does sucks.” The multi-talent said, “At least he got a movie done about him. He took advantage of the system. But oh, my God, please! Who wants to see a movie about 50?!” while discussing the failed carer of director Jim Sheridan following 2005’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’. However, Rick did note that The Game’s “Hate It Or Love It” includes a verse from Jackson that he’s particularly fond of.

As Rozay continues to berate 50 Cent over their long-standing beef, the New Yorker has been letting his sentimental side shine on social media. To begin his week, Fif shared a throwback photo from when he first began fostering his passion for music. He continues to show immense growth since then, no matter what critics like Rick Ross have to say. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Swizz Beatz Recalls The Making Of “Party Up” With DMX: “It’s The Biggest Song We Ever Made”

When you think of the cream of the crop when it comes to hip-hop producers, who do you think of? Metro Boomin, The Alchemist, Scott Storch, Dr. Dre? There are plenty that belong in the hierarchy. One of those names that must be in the thick of it is Swizz Beatz. The Bronx, New York mainstay has given us countless classics by bringing his own flare. He has worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, and other icons in the genre. With all of his experience, he knows how to bring the best out of others, including DMX.

HipHopDX reported that Swizz and up-and-coming Afrobeat artist, Rema, had a chat hosted by Rolling Stone. The Musicians on Musicians series has been producing some interesting content with older and newer generation artists. For example, Snoop Dogg and Latto have been a part of this too. Swizz spoke with Rema on the creation of one of the biggest party rap songs of all time, “Party Up” by DMX.

Rema And Swizz Beatz Have A One-On-One Conversation

Swizz mentioned how reading the room and the vibe of the artist as soon as they step into the booth is critical in making a hit. However, things were a little different with DMX. If you have heard the song, you know how rowdy the beat is. Swizz revealed what was unique about this song. “It worked for DMX one time with “Party Up.” But if you listen to [it], he does everything against the track. Like, you could tell he didn’t want to do the song. But I forced him because we was on a deadline.” Another reason for the track’s success was due to DMX wanting to prove the doubters wrong. This was from a GQ interview back in 2019. “I was the only artist in history that had their first two albums debut at No. 1, and have two platinum albums in one year! So I’m like, ‘I gotta do it again!’ Aight, like, muthaf****s think it’s a joke?! Aight, Ima show you somethin’!”

What are your initial thoughts on Swizz Beatz revealing how he made the beat for “Party Up” with DMX? Do you think Swizz is the best producer of all time? Is this the greatest beat he had ever made? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. SZA Details Drake Fling From Over A Decade Ago

SZA and Drake delivered an amazing collaboration with “Slime You Out,” just a couple of weeks ago. Overall, this song proved to be a huge success, with many lauding both artists for their vocal chops and even their lyrics. However, a lot of fans felt like a collab between these two would never happen. This is because of Drake’s bars on the song “Mr. Right Now,” which came out in 2021 on 21 Savage’s album, Savage Mode 2. “Yeah, said she wanna f— to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08,” he rapped on the song.

Interestingly enough, SZA turned 18 in November of 2008, which had some accusing Drake of dating an underaged girl. However, SZA noted on Twitter at the time that they dated in 2009. “So It was actually 2009 lol … in this case a year of poetic rap license mattered lol,” she explained. “I think he jus innocently rhymed 08 w wait. Anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm … it’s all love all peace.” Now, in a cover story with Rolling Stone, SZA is offering a few more details on what went down with her and Drizzy.

“We were really young,” the songstress explained. “It wasn’t hot and heavy or anything. It was like youth vibes. It was so childish.” So there you have it folks, there really wasn’t much going on there. This may be disappointing to some, although considering the details, it makes sense that they are on good terms. Hopefully, we get more collaborations between these two in the future.

Janelle Monáe is going through changes, and the world is definitely taking notice. Over the past month, we’ve seen the singer bare her body more than ever before, happily showing off her breasts not only during a live performance but also on the cover of Rolling Stone. The latter was shared with the world on Monday (May 22), with Monáe posing in front of a blank white background wearing nothing but a golden headpiece to cover her hair.

“Janelle Monáe: Freer Than Ever,” the headline reads. In the accompanying story, the Dirty Computer songstress touches on not only her recent NSFW antics but also her upcoming album, The Age of Pleasure. Regarding the former, the 37-year-old has made it abundantly clear that she’s “much happier when [her] titties are out and [she] can run around free.” According to Monáe, a deep personal evolution has allowed her to become “more nude, more present, and less anxious.”

Janelle Monáe Goes Topless on the Cover of Rolling Stone

As for her upcoming album, Janelle says that it has a wide variety of influences behind it. “It was inspired by all of my friends, my community of folks who are from South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, the Caribbean, Atlanta, L.A., Chicago. Seeing all of us together in our Blackness, in the love that we had in our eyes for each other,” she expressed to Rolling Stone.

It remains unclear which collaborators Monáe will be connecting with – if any – on the project. So far she’s given fans two singles, “Float” with Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 and more recently, “Lipstick Lover,” to hold us over until the quickly approaching official release date on June 9.

Chet Hanks Is “Emotionally Disturbed” And “Not Well,” Eric André Claims

Some “nepo babies,” such as Gigi Hadid, have made wildly successful careers for themselves by taking advantage of the opportunities their famous families have afforded them. Others, however, seem to crumble under the pressure of being in the spotlight (often from a young age), taking dark and troubling routes rather than coasting through Hollywood with ease. A star who seems to fall into the latter category is Chet Hanks, son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

While he has had some noteworthy acting roles over the years, the 32-year-old’s name is often embroiled in controversy, showing him in a negative light. He’s previously been accused of cultural appropriation after going viral several times while speaking in a Jamaican accent on social media, and now, Eric André is spilling on his time spent working with Hanks. During a recent conversation with Rolling Stone, the comedian described the Your Honor star as “emotionally disturbed,” among other things.

Eric’s Experience Working with Chet Hanks

“Chet Hanks was a tough cookie,” André recalled of working with the California native on his self-titled show. “He broke our crew. It felt like ‘Rust.’ He broke us down,” the 39-year-old further explained, comparing Hanks to Alec Baldwin’s western film that was shut down several months back after the unexpected death of Halyna Hutchins on set. Apparently, the environment he created on the Eric André Show was equally as “dangerous” and could’ve seriously injured other cast and crew members.

The Bad Trip star went on to share that “[Chet] is… emotionally disturbed. He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders.” Thankfully, André’s creative control allowed him to “edit out all [the] bullshit” Hanks pulled off while trying to prank Eric back. “He’s not well. How did Colin Hanks come out so good and Chet Hanks come out so bad?” the Florida native pondered.

Actor Reportedly Tried to Sleep with Ziwe

Elsewhere in his interview, André alleged that Chet Hanks tried to sleep with talk show host Ziwe, who he previously went to school with. “I talked to Ziwe about it. God, what a guy. Now he’s the executive producer on the show and the president of Adult Swim,” the funny man quipped. Just last year, the embattled entertainer appeared on the female host’s Showtime series, at which time he went viral for his various on-screen antics. See for yourself in the video above, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
