Dave East & AraabMuzik Preview Their Joint Tape With “Buss Down” Featuring Fabolous

Dave East is looking to go out with a braggadocious bang before the end of 2024 and he’s doing so with “BUSS DOWN.” This is a brand-new collaboration with between the gritty New York spitter and longtime producer, araabMUZIK (Jay Electronica, Cardi B, J. Cole & JID, Tory Lanez, and more). But this new duo isn’t just stopping here, though. On November 15, Dave and araab will be dropping off Living Proof, a 15-song tape with features from Benny The Butcher, Giggs, Ransom, Stacy Barthe, and more. One of those other guests includes Fabolous, who is also on this lead single, “BUSS DOWN.”

As we mentioned, it’s a flexing banger all about diamond-encrusted watches, with a hint of drug talk. “Cuzzo got rich off the glass, he sellin’ crystal (Meth) / Dave tatted on your b**** a**, her name was Crystal (Crys’) / We smokin’ in this room, I paid for them, incidental.” Because of these bars, it’s also a bit of a hustler’s anthem too. The beat matches well as it contains lavish string sections and trunk-rattling 808s. When this drops, this will be Dave’s third consecutive tape with another artist of some kind. For now though, spin “BUSS DOWN” with the link below.

Rome Streetz & Daringer Drop Off Their Touted Collab Project “Hatton Garden Holdup”

Rome Streetz and Buffalo, New York producer Daringer have been reeling in quite a few curious ears lately. This unofficial duo has sneakily had hip-hop heads waiting for their collaboration project to drop. Well, Rome Streetz and Daringer have done just that this weekend, as Hatton Garden Holdup is now here. The London bred underground MC teased that him and his partner and crime had something serious cooking on his Instagram about three months ago. Accompanying a cold picture of them together was the caption, “We Been in the lab cooking up a batch,” Rome began. “Almost that time to put the slab out on the streetz… To put it real simple Rome Streetz and Daringer bout to Drop a Album and it’s a f***in scud missile… Stay tuned!!”

This got some serious attention, especially from fellow East Coast natives such as Conway the Machine, Westside Gunn, and more. Leading up to the tape, “Starbvxkz” and “Sage” featuring ScHoolboy Q just a few weeks before October 4. Overall, we can see why the hype for Hatton Garden Holdup was so real. Daringer is cooking on nearly every beat here. He’s able to create a luxurious, smoky, and grimy environment, which is perfect for an MC like Rome. His braggy and ultra-violent lyrics complement the various soundscapes that his beat maker lays down. Critics and causal listeners are raving about it as well, so be sure to get it on this ASAP.

Rome Streetz & Daringer Preview Their Upcoming Collab Project With Hazy “Sage” Featuring ScHoolboy Q

Rome Streetz is one the most stalwart undergrounders that we have going right now. You can always go to him for solid rhymes and bars, in addition to head-nodding East Coast hip-hop rhythms. Pretty soon, he will almost assuredly deliver one of those listening experiences again in just a few weeks. On October 4, him and veteran producer Daringer will be dropping their joint effort, Hatton Garden Holdup. Given that it’s named after a longstanding London jewelry store, we are expecting a luxurious tape. Part of that expectation comes from the lead single “Starbvxkz”.

The production has a glamorous feeling to it, thanks to its twinkling and soft piano melodies. It’s been making us float since we’ve heard it and “Sage” by Rome Streetz is having that similar effect. With his brags and hazy beat, you can easily lock in, close your eyes, and feel the vibes almost instantaneously. Here, we are also getting the first feature for the eventual release. ScHoolboy Q’s verse and drawn-out vocal delivery perfectly matches up with the mood. Overall, the track really does have a heady quality, and it may do it better than its predecessor. Fans can expect to have 13 songs, with features from Conway the Machine, Cormega, and Meyhem Lauren too. Give “Sage” a try with the YouTube link below.

Ransom, Conway The Machine, & V Don Unite For 10-Track Effort “Chaos Is My Ladder 2”

Ransom and Conway the Machine had underground hip-hop fans chomping at the bit about a week ago. The unofficial duo put out a track called “Higher Killer” alongside Lloyd Banks and producer V Don. Since its release on August 30, the record has garnered quite a bit of traction, raking in over 76,000 streams. Fans felt they were picking up the scent of an upcoming collaboration project. Well, they were spot on the money because Ransom and Conway are here a week later with Chaos Is My Ladder 2.

Given the straight-forward nature of the lead single, we were predicting that this would be a fairly simple listening experience. What we mean by that is that we saw a scenario where the project would be pretty short and not toy with the listener. Give us what we need and nothing more. That’s exactly what we are getting from Ransom, Conway, and V Don. It’s 10 cuts and it clocks in at around 27 minutes. In all honesty, that’s what we were hoping for. While they are certainly great MCs from a rapping perspective, we don’t think they can differentiate things enough to keep things sounding fresh. Conway’s last project was a pretty good example of this. But overall, this is a tight and very fine tape from two of NY’s most prolific acts.

Blu & Exile Promote Their Upcoming Collab Tape With “Gold” Featuring Nana & Ahmad Anwar

Blu and Exile (Blu & Exile) are one of the most underrated hip-hop duos of all-time. When it comes to the underground scene in particular, we wouldn’t be mad if you had them ranked at number one. The Los Angeles, California kids just have that special recipe that no one else will truly be able to unearth or replicate. It’s rare when they miss a step and it’s why we are thrilled for their upcoming collaborative project, Love (the) Ominous World. According to a currently unreviewed annotation on Genius, they are expecting it to drop on September 20, so just a couple of weeks from now. We got our first taste of what appears to be a 12-song outing with “Love Is Blu”.

Frequent collaborator and singer/rapper Aloe Blacc appeared on it and as usual, the song bangs. It felt triumphant but it had some serious undertones to it thanks to the spirited and lyrically conscious performances. You normally don’t go to them for catchy tunes. But “Love Is Blu” also had that going for it too. The same rings true for “Gold”, the second single from Blu & Exile. The instrumental and melodies from Exile paired with the chorus give it tremendous replay value. Typically, when a song is sticky, it tends to not change up. However, Exile throws in some instrumental switch-ups to keep the listener engaged. Disc scratches, vocal samples, and ghostly and twinkly tones are things you’ll catch here and there. Overall, we think that him and Blu went two for two with “Gold”. However, we want to know what you think, so check it out below.

Juicy J & Xavier Wulf Craft A Consistent & Fun Trap Record With “Memphis Zoo”

“The album itself is SUPER fun. It’s the signature Juicy J style, and Xavier Wulf fits very well into the mix. Short, fun and consistent, that’s what a Juicy J album should be”. That was one review left on Album Of The Year talking about the newest Juicy J project, Memphis Zoo. As the user says, this is a joint effort with the influential voice and Xavier Wulf. The latter is from Memphis as well, but even though he has been in the game for at least a decade, these two are quite unfamiliar with one another. In fact, Juicy J and Xavier Wulf did not collaborate as a duo until the former’s 2023 tape, Mental Trillness. You can hear them together on “No Man”.

After seeing their potential together, Juicy grabbed Xavier again for a couple of cuts of the aforementioned tape’s sequel earlier this year. “On The Way” and “All It Takes” are the two joints to revisit. Now, on Memphis Zoo, their relationship is fully realized, and we share the same sentiment as the reviewer above. While Juicy J is undoubtedly a pillar of Southern hip-hop, he can be limited in terms of his approach to a track.

Where he is truly great is when he creates punchy and short tracks and Memphis Zoo excels in that area. Adding in Xavier Wulf further helps this project succeed, because while the beats do slap, they are all fairly similar. So, having that extra voice with a different cadence breaks up what could have been an even more monotonous listen. Overall, Juicy J and Wulf have a solid record and we recommend you give it a spin.

The Game Joins Forces With STB Label For “Time” Project

With The Game being in the game (pun intended) for so long, he has seen quite a bit throughout his career. To be exact, his career spans over 21 years and his catalog may be in contention for the most expansive out of any rapper. In that two-decade long span, the 44-year-old has worked with many artists as you may expect. Instead of just grabbing features for his albums, he has gone out and released compilation records, too. One that hardcore Game fans might know is his 2003 tape, QB 2 Compton Ringtones. That saw cuts from Nas, and one from San Quinn. Fast forward to June 7 and The Game is adding another project of that vein with Time.

This mixtape follows his January 1 release with Hit-Boy and Big Hit, Paisley Dreams. Hit is a veteran and also roughly from the same area, so working with him made a lot of sense. This time though, The Game is teaming up with the younger generation of MCs. Those include Woodboy Gee, C Stunna, Stunna 4 Vegas, and CHLLER. Vegas and Gee are STB (Secure The Bag Entertainment) signees, which Time was released through. The Game does not appear until track six, “I Feel Like A Dope Boy”, but the other cast members keep the energy high with accessible trap bangers. In addition to providing vocals, he also is credited as an executive producer alongside CEO of STB, Ryan Kane.

Smoke DZA Drops By With DJ RELLYRELL-Produced EP “You’re All Welcome”

Smoke DZA came through later last year with a terrific EP called Flying Objects. It was one of two projects from the Harlem, New York native, with Worldwide Smoke Session, Vol. 2. That was a collaboration tape with The Smokers Club and featured 12 tracks and a host of features. The aforementioned EP would receive a slightly longer version in December called the (Extended Version). It tacked on three new songs, two of which were sequels.

If you are not familiar with any of DZA’s previous work, he is a master of creating the ideal tracks to smoke too, hence his stage name. Even though he does not get the same recognition as of his hazy contemporaries, he is arguably the best of the bunch. That is mostly because he can hit you with fire lyricism on top of providing the vibes. Over the weekend, Smoke DZA delivered another straightforward and short listen, You’re All Welcome.

Courtney Bell Calls On Detroit Icon Royce Da 5’9″ To Help Release “Microdose”

2020 was the last year for a brand-new Courtney Bell project, but this weekend changed that with Microdose. The ultra-talented lyricist from Detroit, Michigan has been stirring up a lot of interest in this mixtape over the last few months. Most people were unaware that this tape’s rollout began back in late January with the now lead single “Westside.” It featured a fellow Motown legend Royce Da 5’9″ and most would reason that he was going to be just a feature.

However, the frequent Eminem collaborator has turned to have a much larger hand in this endeavor. If fact, this is listed as a joint project between Courtney and Royce. The latter has another three appearances across the 14-song tracklist. He can also be heard on “Bang,” “Get Em High” (another promo track), and “BANZ.”

Listen To Microdose By Courtney Bell & Royce Da 5’9″

Speaking of promo cuts, Courtney put forth four in total. We were able to take a listen to “Word II Conway” which does indeed feature Conway the Machine. Bell spoke with Audible Treats a few months ago about “Westside” and the sound he was wanting to bring to the modern era. “This record for me is a statement, not only for myself but for the Westside of my city of Detroit and everyone that comes from it. I was inspired to create something sonically that hasn’t really been heard of for my generation.” However, we would argue that Bell puts on for the city across the tape.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album Microdose by Courtney Bell and Royce Da 5’9″? Which songs are you gravitating toward the most right now? Where do you rank this project amongst the rest in his discography? What song do you think is the best and why? Who had the strongest feature on the tape? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. “Omega Music Vol. 1” Shows That UnoTheActivist Has Star Potential

UnoTheActivist is displaying that he can really flourish in the trap scene with his newest offering Omega Music Vol. 1. This marks the second album for the Atlanta, Georgia in 2024, following up a release from April called Music B4 Music. Leading up to the release of Omega Music Vol. 1, UnoTheActivist put out a trio of promotional cuts which began to rollout in February. Those include the ghoulish banger “Lil X,” “M’s (MMM MMM),” and the tape’s eventual closer “2Chainz.” The reason we well that Uno, or The Act, can really stand out amongst his bigger contemporaries is his approach.

On this project in particular, the prolific 28-year-old has a great ear for beats for starters. Across OMV1, he selects a lot of ear-grabbing instrumentals that are extremely woozy, moody, and detailed. Some of the best examples of this include “M’s,” “Futuristic Swaver,” and “ChieffKeffSossaa.” He is also able to flow really well, with “Uh Huh” and “Lil X” being our favorite tracks in that regard.

Listen To Omega Music Vol. 1 By The Act & UnoTheActivist

Perhaps the one drawback of this album is that Uno is clearly influenced by Lil Uzi Vert and Chief Keef to some extent. In fact, he does a pretty solid job at recreating the latter’s cadence and rap style on “ChieffKeffSossaa.” But, if he wants to truly separate himself, having a more distinctive voice. Other than that, this a solid project with plenty of heat on it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album Omega Music Vol.1 by UnoThe Activist? What tracks have you been gravitating toward? Where do you rank this project amongst the rest UnoTheActivist’s discography? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section.
