Jim Jones, Dyce Payso, And Keen Streetz Lay Down Bars Over “SHAQ & KOBE” Beat

New York MC and label head of B.G. Touring, Inc & Entertainment, Jim Jones is on a little run right now. Just last weekend, the veteran put out his second album of the year with Jim Jones Presents Byrdgang 2.0. What was interesting about this release was that it was another collaborative record of sorts. While his previous effort Back In My Prime was like that too, his latest one puts on tons of underground talent. Some of the most frequent names included Dyce Payso and Keen Streetz. Those two lyricists join Jones once again with a new freestyle.

Currently, it is only available on YouTube. The title of the song may sound familiar to you and you would be right in that assumption. That is because this is a remix of sorts of Meek Mill’s and Rick Ross’ recent collaborative track. Unlike the two MMG artists, this version of “SHAQ & KOBE” does not seem like it will appear on any upcoming record.

Bas Drops Reflective Track “Khartoum” With Adekunle Gold

Paris-born and New York-raised rapper and singer Bas has not come out with a new album since 2018. However, that time appears to be coming to a close fairly soon. If you check out his Genius page, his forthcoming record looks to be due by December 31 of this year. The title of the project is also interesting.

We Only Talk About Real S*** When We’re F****d Up poses that this LP could talk about a lot of the worldwide issues going on. It is a fitting title as most people do not care or are unaware of the hardships and other catastrophes taking place every day. Bas has already given us three singles from this tape, including the summery track “Passport Bros” with Dreamville labelmate, J. Cole. This new one though refers to the civil war going on in Sudan and its capital, “Khartoum.”

The fast-growing sport has been one of will’s favorite things to watch and he is happy to be a part of this partnership. It began back in early May of this year with the release of his first single in over a decade. He teamed up with another hip-hop legend, Lil Wayne for one of their few collaborations.

“THE FORMULA” got things started and now we have another track, “LET’S GO.” This one features J Balvin and unlike the previous collaboration, this is not their first rodeo together. The Latin singer and rapper teamed up on the Black Eyed Peas 2020 hit “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life).” will.i.am knows how to create global bangers and this is another one for sure.

He only has one project to his name so far. Run Wild Run Free came out in 2019 and it was a total solo effort. Things will be different very soon as the 27-year-old will be dropping his second project.

Genius says that Stereo Miracle is due in 2024, which would make it five years in between releases. Zacari has already begun the rollout for the album. This dates back to the lead single coming out in February, “Motions.” It features another TDE member, Ab-Soul. Now, we finally have another taste of Zacari’s next tape with “Ave Maria.”

That project dropped a few months ago -July to be exact- and now he is beginning to release new material. This is the first time he is working with another New York native, Kyle Richh. It is a little surprising this is the lone collaboration we have from them considering both have similar styles.

Nonetheless, we have a chance now to see how the two mesh. How do they do in that department? We would say both Tjay and Richh sound like they belong on more songs together. Richh’s deeper voices contrasts well with Tjay’s higher pitch.

The themes in this song are ones of betrayal and loneliness. Both perform over a drill beat which both are no strangers to. Lil Tjay refers back to the time he was shot at. Legendary rap posse Wu-Tang Clan is back with a brand-new single for the first time in a long time. In fact, it has technically been three years since their last single, “Hi.” It did receive a remix in 2021 with UNKLE. Other than that though, the New York group has stood silent. Sadly, it does not feature a ton of the members, but Method Man and Ghostface Killah do make appearances.

On the Wu-Tang Clan’s Instagram account, they began teasing a comeback of sorts. It began a little over a day ago with them sharing the cover art of the track. “Claudine coming Friday.. the saga continues..” This message confused some fans. One person said, “Is this a song, a whole album, or a movie?” Another shared the same sentiment, “Is this a f*****g record?” The cover was uploaded in black and white.

Shortly after, it donned a yellow and black color palette. Finally, on the day of its release, Wu-Tang shared the official artwork. “Claudine” also features some nice guest singing from Nicole Bus. Those lyrics are very prevalent in Ghostface and Nicole’s sections.

Jay Rock And Ab-Soul Collab For The First Time In Eight Years On “Blowfly”

If we told you that two collaborators who are part of a rap group together hardly ever put out music, would you believe us? Well, hopefully, you did because that is the case with Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. The posse they are in is Black Hippy and it includes Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q as well. Jay and Ab have not hit the studio since Rock’s 2015 record, 90059.

Ironically, it was the track that Jay got his other three members together for “Vice City.” Since then, he and Ab-Soul have not made a song. Now, the drought finally ends with another single from Eastside Johnny*, “Blowfly.” Jay announced this on his Instagram a couple of days ago. “Me and my brotha @souloho3 coming with some heat this Friday Y’all better get ready for this!! #ESJ#TDE#Blowfly.”

We did propose that this could be one of the best singles of the year. The reason is, that both of them can rap and bring unique flows. However, at least on first listen, it does not totally live up to expectations. One of the biggest downsides to the track is that Ab-Soul performs the hook and that is it. Hotboii Teams Up With Producer ATL Jacob For New Track “NASA”

One of Florida’s many up-and-coming rap talents has just put out a brand-new single. Orlando, Flordia MC Hotboii is back with his first real solo single of 2023. We say real because back on April 14 he put out a remix to one of his most popular songs. That track, “WTF,” was released last year and it got a Polo G feature added to it. Other than that, Hotboii’s solo output was nowhere to be heard.

However, that mostly has to do with the fact that he was charged with two things: Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization – Racketeering and Conspiracy to Commit Racketeering connection to a larger RICO investigation. This is according to XXL and is now able to be freed on a $750,000 bond as of July 13, 2021. Additionally, as of now, there is no word on a projected date of release. In the music video below there is even a message that says, “Free Hotboii.”
