2 Chainz, Offset, Coi Leray, And More Join DJ Khaled To Open Beyonce’s First “RENAISSANCE” LA Show

Thus far on Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE World Tour, we haven’t seen too many surprise guests take the stage alongside her. Of course, her eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter, has been a regular performance staple alongside Queen B, and her troupe of dancers has been keeping audiences more than entertained. For her first performance in Los Angeles on Friday (September 1) night, however, the Houston native finally felt as though it was time to recruit some of her fellow creatives to share her stage. Late in August, it was confirmed that DJ Khaled would have the honour of opening for Beyonce. He made sure to impress with the friends that he brought along.

Not only did the DJ bring Coi Leray out from the East Coast to sing her smash hit “Players” single, but we also saw Offset pay tribute to Michael Jackson once again. The father of five dressed in a black and silver outfit, similarly styled to the King of Pop before performing a throwback favourite, “Ric Flair Drip” to Beyonce’s audience. A few West Coast icons also made appearances, such as Roddy Ricch (though he appeared to run into technical difficulties during his song), and Wiz Khalifa.

The latter put everyone in attendance in a feel-good mood with “Young, Wild, and Free” before Lil Wayne turned the energy up with “Encore.” RENAISSANCE tickets were undeniably expensive, but with such a star-studded roster of opening acts, they were worth every penny for music lovers in LA.

Besides the talent joining DJ Khaled and Bey on stage, plenty of famous faces were spotted in the crowd as well. Among them were Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, Kelly Rowland, Kris Jenner, Issa Rae, and dozens more.

DJ Khaled Opened Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Show And Brought 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, And More Surprise Guests

During Beyoncé’s Renaissance show tonight as the first of her Los Angeles dates at SoFi Stadium, she brought DJ Khaled as a special guest to entertain and energize the crowd before her set even started.

And he too had some surprises in store. During DJ Khaled’s set, he brought out even more famous faces, including 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Roddy Ricch, Coi Leray, Offset, and Lil Wayne, to perform with him.

DJ Khaled treated the audience to some of his biggest songs, including “All I Do Is Win.” Wiz Khalifa played “Young, Wild, & Free,” as the two sung along to the carefree track.

Later on in the set, Leray performed her hit song, “Players,” which got a boost in popularity through TikTok. (She was also an Uproxx cover star.)

Fans attending Beyoncé’s SoFi Stadium show tomorrow (Sept. 2) will also get a chance to see DJ Khaled as an opening act — possibly with new and/or returning special guests to join him. He had first revealed the news through Instagram.

“I’m telling you now GET THERE AT 7 PM!” DJ Khaled captioned his post from earlier this afternoon. “Trust me! History in the making!”

Karrueche Tran Says Fans Mistook Her For Either Jhene Aiko Or Coi Leray

Even if someone thinks you’re just as attractive as the people they’re confusing you for, it can still sting. Moreover, that’s what recently happened to actress Karrueche Tran, who recently revealed on social media that a fan asked her for a picture while remarking that they love her music. The half-Vietnamese, half-Black entertainer suspects that they could’ve either been referring to Coi Leray or Jhene Aiko given her recent hairstyle change. Apparently she just walked away from the fan while laughing, which is pretty cold-blooded but perhaps exactly what they deserved in her eyes if they didn’t have their receipts on deck. It’s a small but curious peek into a celebrity’s life that we don’t always get to peep, but always results in entertaining antics.

“Someone asked me for a picture today,” Karrueche Tran wrote on a picture of herself on her Instagram Story recently. “And then said ‘Thank you so much, I love your music!’” “I didn’t ask who they thought I was,” Chris Brown’s 35-year-old ex elaborated on Twitter. “I just laughed and kept walking. But I think it’s either Coi LeRay or Jhene Aiko (I got Jhene a couple weeks ago in the airport, which ok we’re both blasian and petite but now my hair is short?) lol.”

Regardless of who the fan meant to approach excitedly, it’s not hard to see why people would mix up the three. Also, there are plenty of reasons to have Coi Leray and Jhene Aiko on your news feed these days, so maybe it’s just the recency bias talking. For example, the former recently released her new EP, Blue Moon, just this week, and it already stirred up some commotion. After all, you don’t seemingly diss Trippie Redd and Latto and not cause some heads to turn.

Meanwhile, the R&B singer recently released her new single “calm & patient” to much acclaim, hinting at bigger things to come this year. It’s not like Tran disappeared throughout the year, but her doppelgängers built even more of a profile. So now you know: if you think you saw any of them at an airport, take a closer look and think before you fan out. Coi Leray Throws Shots at Latto on Opening of “Isabel Marant” Single

Coi Leray Throws Shots at Latto on "Isabel Marant" Single

The unity in Women rap that Coi Leray promoted on her BET Awards outfit may be out the window. On her latest EP, Blue Moon, there is a single titled “Isabel Marant,” which she throws a jab at Latto.

Earlier this year, the Internet buzzed over a beef brewing between the two as Latto rapped: “Smoking on that gas, blunt as big as Coi Leray.” The bar can be found on “Put It On Da Floor.” At the time, Leray blasted the bar, tweeting, “this shit is enver ending.” And now, it was time for rap.

“Yeah I’m on they ass
Hop up out that couch and roll up latto out the bank
I don’t need a stylist, they can’t fuck with Coi Leray”

– Coi Leray

You can hear the single below and check out the full EP here.

Coi Leray Takes Shots At Latto And Trippie Redd On Her “Blue Moon” EP

Coi Leray might be feeling herself, but she deserves it. Hot off the release of her brand new EP Blue Moon on August 30, the Boston, Massachusetts-born rapper talks a lot about her career. After a disappointing response from fans and critics on her last album, she wanted to stick to her guns and put out material she excels with. “The EP, I get deep, I get vulnerable. I got tired of “trying” new things and wanted to just do what I do BEST.” You can check out more information on the project here.

Now that the EP is here, fans and listeners are taking the time to look more into the lyrical content. Sure enough, people are starting to notice there are some shots being sent towards a few artists in particular. The most glaring one is Latto, who took a figurative body shot at Leray on her popular track “Put It On Da Floor.” Latto raps, “Smoking on that gas blunt big as Coi Leray / Bitches like to run they mouth, but I’m the type to run a fade.” Coi did not take that diss lightly responding, “Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY. Lol like seriously . Out of all things . Lmaooo ya blunt my size ? Lmaooo this s*** is never ending. These b*****s wanna be like the n***** so bad.”

Take A Listen To Coi Leray’s “Isabel Marant:”

Trippie Redd was also caught in the crossfire, as he used to date Coi Leray. The bar that has people talking is on the song “Isabel Marant.” She raps, “Yeah, I’m on they a** / Hop out on that couch and roll up Latto out the bag / I don’t need a stylist, they can’t f*** with Coi Leray / Try to count me out and now I’m big as Trippie Redd.” It is certainly a diss towards the two rappers. More beef could be coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned.

What are your initial thoughts on the song “Isabel Marant” by Coi Leray? Did you catch the shots at Trippie Redd and Latto on the first listen? Why do you think she fired back at Latto? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Coi Leray Is Stripped Down And Dipped In Glitter In Her Dazzling ‘Isabel Marant’ Video

In Coi Leray’s high-concept video for “Isabel Marant,” the unapologetic rapper is stripped down and dipped in glitter as she performs her new single. Name-checking a plethora of designer brands, Coi debuts an eye-popping new hairstyle and twerks atop a platform held aloft by a thrashing mosh pit. As Coi flexes her drip both in the lyrics and in her video looks, it’s pretty clear she remains unbothered by critics of her first-week sales and her musical stylings.

That Coi is just under three months removed from the release of her self-titled second studio album and is already pushing forward with new music is a testament to her work ethic — the very thing that got her to this place in her career so far. While she hasn’t impressed many critics, her music certainly resonates with fans, since her streaming numbers keep going up and her list of hits, which now includes Coi standouts like “Players,” “Bops,” “My Body,” and “Get Loud.”

While there’s no word as yet where “Isabel Marant” will ultimately end up, it doesn’t look like Coi is showing any signs of slowing down, let alone stopping. Terrible news for her haters.

Coi Leray’s brand new EP Blue Moon is finally out on all streaming platforms. The project is just over 11 minutes long with five tracks and no features. A few days ago the star rapper and singer shared the meaning behind this quick effort. Her second album was not as well received as she might have hoped, so she decided to do what she does best. Coi Leray says, “The EP, I get deep, I get vulnerable. I got tired of “trying” new things and wanted to just do what I do BEST.”

She goes further saying, “I have a hard time with telling my story because I get wrapped up in the media narratives however Music is the best way for me to tell it. Sorry I can’t argue with y’all on the internet all day.” Things are definitely getting a little more personal this time and it shows on these five tracks. That feeling hits you like a ton of bricks right from the start with “Liquor and Weed.” The beat is very minimalistic with spacy drums, allowing to make way for Coi to spit about all of her internal thoughts on her career and the pain and struggle she has had to endure to get to where she is.

Coi Leray Opens Up About “Blue Moon” EP

Coi Leray has opened up about the inspiration behind her forthcoming EP, Blue Moon. Earlier this year, the rapper dropped off her second debut album, Coi. The project featured appearances from David Guetta, Saucy Santana, Giggs, and Lola Brooke, among others. However, the rapper’s sophomore album got a lukewarm response. But it didn’t keep the 26-year-old rapper down. In a recent post on Instagram, she revealed she “dug deep” for her latest project. Hopefully, it will have a better response from fans.

In the post, Coi is naked, wearing blue sparkles all over her body. Featuring blue hair, the project is a reflection of the “Blue Moon” phenomenon. According to NASA, it happens every 1-2 years. Another slide contained a message for her fans. “The EP, I get deep, I get vulnerable. I got tired of “trying” new things and wanted to just do what I do BEST,” she begins. “I have a hard time with telling my story because I get wrapped up in the media narratives however Music is the best way for me to tell it.
