Offset Defends Hip-Hop After Shannon Sharpe Says It Might Be Declining

Earlier this week, Offset’s appearance on Club Shay Shay was released. in recent months, the podcast has been a platform for celebrities to spread some pretty wild rumors almost completely unchecked. The most notable example was Katt Williams who made weeks’ worth of news with everything he said on his appearance. The former Migos rapper’s time on the show was a lot less explosive but he still spawned plenty of memorable and discussion-worthy moments.

One of the big moments was a debate over whether hip-hop was “declining,” a notion that Offset denies. “I don’t know what folks be talking ‘bout, it’s still that. Why would it not be? Everything is culturally moved from Hip-Hop, period. I don’t care what it is. It is a commercial—that ain’t got nothing to do with nothing. It’s all still brought to Hip-Hop at the end of the day,” he explained. ““What the hell I look like saying it’s declining right now? I’m in it. No sir! In a different moment on the podcast, Offset updated fans on where things stand between him and Joe Budden. He gave some background on how they ended up at odds in the first place following Budden’s criticisms of Cardi B and female rappers at large. Despite their issues the “WORTH IT” rapper insists that the two are now on good terms.

In another hilarious moment from the interview, Offset roasted Shannon Sharpe. The rapper took aim at the skinny pants Sharpe often steps out in claiming that he’s “too big” for that. Offset Roasts Shannon Sharpe For His Tight Pants

Earlier today, a new episode of Club Shay Shay was released featuring a conversation with former Migos rapper Offset. The podcast has become a go-to for celebrities looking to speak their mind in a mostly uncritical format. As a result it’s sparked a handful of incredibly viral moments, none more so than Katt Williams earlier this year. He was given the platform to make all kinds of outlandish claims that sparked days, worth of news.

By comparison, Offset’s interview is much more tame but that doesn’t mean he isn’t providing some valuable insight. In one of the most viral moments he opens up on his relationship with Joe Budden. He discusses how the bad vibes between the pair started and why it took some time to repair them, but he insists all is well now. In another funnier moment, he took aim at, host Shannon Sharpe. He called out Sharpe for some of the outfits he’s been spotted wearing which can feature some very tight pants. While Kat Williams’s revelations have netted Sharpe some serious cash, Mo’Nique and Snoop Dogg are some the most recent names to go viral for their appearance on the show, there are several other people with equally significant moments.

Usher’s Missed Music Moments

When Usher sat for the conversation with Shannon on Club Shay Shay, he revealed a litany of shocking missed opportunities in his career. He confessed that he, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, and Diddy were slated to form a group, but it never came through. Usher said he regretted the missed chance, admitting it was a project he wished had come to fruition. As if that wasn’t enough, Usher also disclosed that he had an opportunity to star in DreamGirls. He claimed that David Geffen had approached him for a role. Moreover, he was also propositioned by both Eddie Murphy and Brandy. Terry Crews Took Home $0 For Training Day

In a heartfelt interview with Shannon on Club Shay Shay, Terry Crews shared insights into his humble beginnings. Reflecting on his early struggles, Crews revealed that when he did Friday After Next with Katt Williams in 1999, he was mopping floors, while Williams was homeless and living in a trailer. He received $4,000 as his payment for starring in it. However, he disclosed that he received $0 for his role in Training Day. This was ultimately the biggest shock of the entire interview. Crews doesn’t seem to mind as much these days, as he believes it was all a stepping stone to greatness. Nonetheless, zero dollars for an Oscar-winning movie seems quite bizarre.

The Club Shay Shay interview with comedian-actress Mo’Nique was filled with a barrage of bombshells. For the entirety of the two-hour and fifty-five-minute interview, she went into detail with big names in and out of Hollywood whom she butted heads with and even those she simply did not admire. One of these was Tiffany Haddish. She spoke about her ongoing conflicts with Haddish, who dissed Monique’s husband in a GQ Magazine interview in 2018. She had some of the choicest words for Haddish, saying: “Tiffany, if you had a husband like mine, you may not have two DUIs. If you had a husband like mine, you may not be caught up in what looks like you could have been grooming a child.”

Mo’Nique then continued to shock Club Shay Shay’s audience when she called out Tyler Perry. She alleged that the media mogul spread damaging rumors that got her blackballed in the film industry years ago. Mo’Nique has famously been at loggerheads with Perry and Oprah Winfrey for over a decade now. She went as far as claiming to have evidence of Tyler Perry admitting to it in a voice recording she reportedly showed to Shannon off-camera. Needless to say, Mo’Nique’s time on Club Shay Shay went viral immediately.

Katt Williams Goes Off On Hollywood

The January 3rd interview of Katt Williams on Club Shay Shay has now amassed over 60 million views. During his interview with Shannon Sharpe, Katt Williams called out several personalities in the acting and comedy industry. He attacked Cedric the Entertainer for allegedly stealing his joke. Williams claimed that Cedric had praised the joke backstage but then incorporated it into his own routine during the Kings of Comedy tour. He took jabs at Steve Harvey for allegedly appropriating his story of experiencing homelessness. Furthermore, he famously tagged Kevin Hart as an “industry plant.”

Katt Williams then moved on to shocking allegations against prominent figures in the entertainment industry. He revealed that Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced film producer, once made an offer to perform oral sex on him in front of his agency representatives, although he declined the proposition. Williams also claimed that Chris Tucker had ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, dubbing him “Epstein Island Chris Tucker.” To round up, Williams brought up a familiar topic. He accused Ludacris of joining the Illuminati to secure his lucrative deal for the Fast & Furious movie franchise. These bombshell accusations demonstrated Williams’ willingness to expose alleged misconduct and corruption within the entertainment world, leaving no one untouched by his claims.

Dame Dash Recalls Smacking Steve Stoute, Responds To “Club Shay Shay” Comments

Dame Dash has fired back at music executive Steve Stoute for his recent comments with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. Appearing on Friday’s episode of the Relate to Great podcast, Dame recalled smacking Stoute at the Roc-A-Fella offices.

“To be honest, I’m sick of these n***as. I’m sick of it because you would think that after a while n***as would leave you alone,” Dame said. “But this consistent thing where people feel comfortable saying that they’re going to do whatever they want to do or can do to keep me out of business, talk bad about me to other people you know come together and make a certain narrative and then get on TV and then have the nerve to speak on it…I’m sick of that s**t.”

From there, he explained that Stoue once owed him $18,000 and refused to pay him back. “I smacked him and s**t and I gave him an opportunity to have a fair one,” Dame recalled. “So like—pop!—smacked him. He asked me, he said, ‘Yo, did you just smack me?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, n***a and ain’t nothing between us but the wind. Mike Epps recently sat down with the All The Smoke crew for their latest podcast episode, and they obviously had a lot to discuss. For one, he said that he’s never treated a woman 100% right, and he actually apologized for these comments to his wife shortly after in public fashion. Of course, they also got around to the topic of Katt Williams and all the drama surrounding comedian interviews, pop culture gossip, and all the ruckus that this seemed to bring about. The stand-up comic even warned Williams during this All The Smoke appearance that it’s all fun and games until these celebrities might start considering more dark action.

Steve Stoute Blasted By Fans For Claiming He Started Hip-Hop Shoe Collabs

Steve Stoute has been making news all week for comments he made on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. He made a variety of claims that had both fans and fellow celebrities asking questions. But one particular trend he took credit for was the crossover between rap and shoes. “Started that. Everybody knows that. That’s me. That’s called, ‘Corporate America, I’m going to introduce you to this thing called Hip Hop. And the music, and the culture, and everything that it represents can help you,” he said.

But fans online disagreed with his take. Under a repost of the clip on Twitter, fans hit back at him and they brought receipts. “It is well documented that Run-D.M.C. signed hip-hop’s first sneaker contract in 1987 when they partnered with Adidas in a deal worth $1.6 million,” one response reads. Shannon Sharpe has claimed that he made more money from his Katt Williams interview than any single year of his NFL career. The Club Shay Shay interview made at least $113,000 from YouTube AdSense and that’s before adding in additional exposure, sponsorships, and onward revenue. The most that Sharpe made in a single season in the NFL was in 2000 when he made $5M. Despite Sharpe’s Hall of Famer career, both his sixth-round draft pick status and inflation must be taken into account.

Elsewhere, Sharpe defended himself against criticism stemming from his now-viral interview with Williams. “I never said I was a journalist. I am not an interviewer. What I always say at the start of my show is that the person who is coming on the show is coming over for a conversation and a drink. I’m a conversationalist,” Sharpe explained to his Nightcap co-host Chad Johnson. Furthermore, Sharpe noted that his show gets the big-name guests that it does because Sharpe offers a “safe space” for them to come and talk.

Donnell Rawlings Joins Shannon Sharpe Trend But Ultimately Defends Hall Of Famer

Meanwhile, Donnell Rawlings has become the latest figure to join the Shannon Sharpe mockery train. However, Rawlings ultimately spoke in defense of the Hall of Fame tight end. Rawlings noted that while it was funny, Sharpe likely still feels the effects of his long playing career in the NFL. Dame Dash Rips Steve Stoute To Shreds For Commenting On Jay-Z Feud

Earlier this week, record executive Steve Stoute became the most recent guest to sit down with Shannon Sharpe for the Club Shay Shay podcast. As you’d expect, he discussed a variety of topics from his decades in the music industry and even made some comments that rubbed a few prominent figures the wrong way. One of the people discussed was Jay-Z, who Stoute has a decades-long business and personal relationship with. In particular he discussed the evolving relationship between Jay and Dame Dash.

“He’s a gigantic, almost, almost not. He blew it. He had the most important artist of a generation,” Stoute began. ”Dame’s antics. Dame wouldn’t change. The way he spoke to people, they he treated people. He was angry because he had a strong perspective on his business philosophy. Jay saw Dame’s ceiling,” he concluded. Another connection Dame Dash has to Jay-Z may have to be severed soon. A judgment spawning from a copyright infringement case a few years ago was never paid by Dame and the judge is willing to go to significant lengths to get the money secured. That may even include forcing Dame to sell his shares of Roc-A-Fella records. Despite their split, Jay-Z is attempting to prevent that sale from happening. He’s citing the fact that it would be bad for both the company and the other shareholders.
