Earlier this week, Rich The Kid celebrated the upcoming release of his new album Life’s A Gamble with a star-studded release party in Hollywood. Unfortunately, however, his evening took an unexpected turn that was caught on camera. As he entered the party, Rich The Kid was served with court papers, reportedly from his former jeweler Peter Marco. Marco sued the rapper back in 2020 for $234K over an allegedly unpaid tab.

When the suit was first filed, Marco said that Rich had been purchasing jewelry like diamond necklaces, crosses, watches, and more since 2017. He claimed that he made payments on the items for a while, which allegedly eventually stopped. Marco alleges that Rich continued to order additional pieces. He says he continued to deliver too, until the tab got to where it is today.

Rich The Kid’s Album Release Party Takes An Unexpected Turn

The court documents surely put a damper on Rich The Kid’s celebration. Fortunately, however, he still appears to have enjoyed his evening. He was spotted partying with DDG, his wife Tori Brixx, and more. As for the album itself, it’s slated for release on July 19 and boasts various high-profile features from the likes of Offset and Kanye West. Ye even previously claimed that he’s going into retirement following the release, potentially making their “Plain Jane” collab one for the history books.

It’s not the only collaboration he’s teamed up with the Chicago-born rapper for as of late either. Boosie Badazz is currently celebrating his latest legal victory, getting his federal gun charge dismissed. Fans first heard of the exciting development last week, when he got emotional on Instagram while sharing his hopes for the future. Unfortunately, however, not all of his peers appear to have had the same luck as of late. Recently, Boosie took to social media once again, this time to announce that Lil Reese was allegedly arrested.

In a clip, the Louisiana-born performer says that he’s at a hotel in downtown LA, and claims he just witnessed authorities take Lil Reese to jail. “He came out handcuffed, they had all his bags,” he explained. Boosie went on to urge the performer’s people to look into the situation, whether that means bailing the Chicago rapper out, or simply making sure he’s doing okay.

Lil Reese Reportedly Runs Into Trouble On The West Coast

At the time of writing, it remains unclear why he was reportedly taken into custody. In the clip, however, Boosie says that a man had come downstairs suggesting that a woman could have “lied on him.” This is unconfirmed, though hopefully, fans will hear more about the alleged arrest sooner rather than later. Lil Reese’s latest reported legal trouble is far from the first the 31-year-old has encountered, however.

In January of last year, he was released from prison after serving seven months for allegedly assaulting a family member. Before that, he was arrested in Chicago on domestic violence charges in 2022. At the time, authorities were reportedly called to the scene to find a woman presumed to be Lil Reese’s girlfriend, who accused him of pulling her hair and punching her in the face. As expected, they touched on various interesting topics during the interview, including their iconic monikers. The subject first came up when Andre 3000 asked Sexyy Red to clarify what she’d like to be called, to which she simply replied “Sexyy.” From there, she explained that she got the name from “this dude” back in the day when she was trying to think of something to go before Red. The St. Louis-born rapper also revealed that before Sexyy Red, she was known as “Trill Red,” which people called her on the streets.

This prompted Andre 3000 to open up about his own original rap name. Today was the third day of Alec Baldwin’s manslaughter trial, and already, the actor has gotten some great news. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer granted the defense’s motion to dismiss the case. Unsurprisingly, he broke down in tears upon hearing the judge’s ruling, as this has surely been a hard road for the 66-year-old. He could have spent up to 18 months behind bars had he been convicted. Baldwin was also spotted hugging his wife, Hilaria, in the courtroom.

In the defense’s motion, they argued that live ammunition related to the accidental shooting that took the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was “concealed” from them. Judge Sommer says this “injected needless delay into the proceedings,” and was “highly prejudicial to the defendant.” She also dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning that Baldwin cannot be retried on the same charge.

“They buried it,” one of Baldwin’s lawyers Luke Nikas said of the evidence at the time. “They put it under a different case with a different number.” Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armorer, is currently serving an 18-month sentence for loading the live rounds into the gun that killed Hutchins.
