Carroll accuses Trump of sexually assaulting her in the dressing room of a Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City during the 1990s. When she went public with her account of the incident in 2019, Trump denied the allegation and remarked, “She’s not my type.” In proving that Carroll is, in fact, Trump’s “type,” attorneys showed footage of Trump’s deposition. During the video, he incorrectly identified Carroll as his ex-wife Marla Maples.

Attorneys for Trump did not call any witnesses nor did he testify in the trial. Instead, they argued that Carroll and the 10 other witnesses her team called were part of a conspiracy to tarnish Trump’s reputation out of hatred for him. Trump addressed the case on Truth Social. “Waiting for a jury decision on a False Accusation where I, despite being a current political candidate and leading all others in both parties, am not allowed to speak or defend myself, even as hard nosed reporters scream questions about this case at me,” he wrote. “In the meantime, the other side has a book falsely accusing me of Rape, & is working with the press. I will therefore not speak until after the trial, but will appeal the Unconstitutional silencing of me, as a candidate, no matter the outcome!”

NY Attorney General Announces $250M Civil Lawsuit Against Donald Trump

Trump Lawsuit

The New York Attorney General announced a civil lawsuit against former President Trump. Including, the Trump Organization and three of his adult children for alleged widespread fraud involving false financial statements related to his company and inflating his net worth.

NY AG Letitia James says this is the result of a three-year investigation, alleging Trump and his family falsified business records, stretched asset valuations, and committed bank and insurance fraud.

“Mr. Trump’s Statements of Financial Condition for the period 2011 through 2021 were fraudulent and misleading in both their composition and presentation,” according to filed documents.

“Trump falsely inflated his net worth by billions of dollars.” James said at a news conference. “Mar-a-Lago generated less than $25 million in annual revenue. It should have been valued at about $75 million, but it was valued at $739 million.”

Speaking to reporters, James said “Nobody is above the law.”  She added what Trump allegedly did wasn’t a mistake made in good faith.

The AG explained that even if Trump moves to Florida, he’ll still have to answer the allegations made against him by New York authorities.

The lawsuit seeks a $250 million judgment that would also ban any member of the Trump family from leading a business in New York State.

During a deposition last month, the former President pleaded the Fifth Amendment.

Trump’s lawyers say the lawsuit is merely a way for James to advance her political agenda.  They also accuse her of an “abuse of authority,” “racism,” and add they’re looking forward to defending Trump.

deshaun watson lawsuits

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has settled 20 out of the 24 civil lawsuits against him. Southeast Texas attorney Tony Buzbee released a statement saying Watson settled all but four of the sexual misconduct suits. The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential.

Attorney Buzbee announced the agreements on Tuesday, while praising every woman who sued Watson.  He plans to represent the four women, including Watson’s first accuser, Ashley Solis at trial who did not settle. Buzbee filed the lawsuits against Watson last year when he was with the Houston Texans.

The women who sued accused Watson of exposing himself and touching them inappropriately during massage appointments, along with harassment allegations. Earlier this year, two Southeast Texas grand juries no-billed and decided not to indict Watson after a police investigation of the claims.

Meantime, the troubles for the QB may not be over. An NFL spokesman said the settlements with 26-year-old Watson “has no impact on the collectively bargained disciplinary process.” The NFL could suspend him if it finds he violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
