City Girls And Kim Petras Have A Lush Night Out On Their New Single, ‘Flashy’

City Girls’ new album, RAW, is finally here. As with any City Girls project, RAW is packed with certified bangers, one of which is a new collab with Kim Petras, appropriately titled “Flashy.”

City Girls step into their pop bag, delivering a fun, punchy, anthem filled with girlish flair.

“Stylin’, shinin’ / I’m so flawless like my diamonds / I’m flashy / Big bags, price tags / You know all I wear is name brand / I’m flashy,” sings Petras on the song’s chorus.

Over the course of the song, the ladies allude to several luxury brands, as JT notes she can be spotted “Wearin’ so much diamonds, lookin’ like a ball,” as she dons “Louis and Gucci / Like three, four Prada, Murakami.”

Yung Miami vacations out “on an island, wilin’, smilin’ / A place where these hatin’ ass hoes can’t find me,” while dressed in “Fendi and Chanel.”

Since dropping their debut mixtape Period back in 2018, City Girls have remained a force in the rap game, and they continue to kill it through different avenues. Miami has pulled in millions of views with her talk show, Caresha Please, and JT has had an impressive solo run, with tracks like “No Bars” and her fire verse on Kali Uchis’ “Muñekita.”

But when the girls come together, you know they have a hit on their hands.

You can listen to “Flashy” above.

RAW is out now via Capitol and Quality Control. Find more information here.

City Girls Unveil Cover Art for Upcoming Album 'RAW'

City Girls, the dynamic hip-hop duo, have revealed the captivating cover art for their eagerly anticipated third full-length album, RAW. The album, set for release this Friday on Quality Control Music/Motown, is a significant milestone as it’s their third raw, authentic, and unfiltered record and their first since JT’s return.

JT and Yung Miami continue to be the voice of city girls and boys worldwide, expressing precisely what’s on their minds (often what others wish they could say) in their lyrics and music. Their unapologetic approach has garnered them over 15 billion combined streams, solidifying their status as hip-hop powerhouses.

Fans can look forward to “RAW” as it promises to be an unfiltered journey into the world of City Girls, showcasing their signature straight-talking style and unwavering authenticity.

While on the red carpet for the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Yung Miami and JT previously revealed their forthcoming release will be RAW(Real Ass Whores).

In August, City Girls released “Face Down” via Quality Control Music / Motown.

This marks their third brash, straight-talking single this summer, as the Miami rappers’ third studio album is nearly arriving. In June City Girls’ JT and Yung Miami gave the world the ‘rich, young and pretty bitch anthem’ “I Need A Thug”, followed by the clever word-play of the “Pinata single. In addition JT’s “No Bars” came last month, as well as being prominently featured on Diddy’s “Act Bad (featuring City Girls and Fabolous).”

Wasting no time swaggering into summer, they have also played festivals such as Rolling Lou’s California and Miami and Sumer Jam Houston. City Girls’ last album came back in June 2020, which was “City On Lock.” At the time, that project went on to debut at number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was led by hit singles such as “Jobs” and “P**** Talk” featuring Doja Cat.

Tour

As of today (October 17), City Girls has not announced a formal tour to support the album. They haven’t had a major headlining run throughout their career due to several circumstances, including member JT’s past legal battles, which resulted in a short prison stint. However, the duo has consistently made festival appearances. Last year, they hit the road with Jack Harlow as opening support. With the slated release of RAW, if the group does decide to embark on a tour, this could mark their first major headlining tour.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

City Girls Announced Their New Album ‘RAW (Real Ass Wh*res)’ After An Electrifying BET Hip-Hop Awards Performance

Miami rap duo City Girls is three years removed from the release of their last album, City On Lock. Since then, they haven’t lost any of their momentum while pursuing other projects, including solo singles and Yung Miami’s show Caresha Please. This month, they’ll build on the foundation they’ve already laid with their third studio album, RAW, which they announced during last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.

The album’s title is an acronym, which stands for “Real Ass Wh*res,” and its release date will be next Friday, October 20. They’ve released a steady stream of singles this year, including “Face Down,” “I Need A Thug,” and “Piñata,” and while none has been a runaway hit like “Act Up,” they’ve been enough to drive excitement among the girls’ hardcore day-one fans — which is usually all you need at times like these. Meanwhile, they also delivered a crowd-pleasing performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, proving that demand for their services is still just as high as ever.

While fans have been waiting for a new album from JT and Yung Miami, they’ve both kept busy. Yung Miami has had her show on Revolt, while JT launched her No Bars Reform initiative in July.

RAW (Real Ass Wh*res) is due on 10/20 via Quality Control Music.

Yung Miami Opens Up About “City On Lock” Album: ” It Just Make Me Depressed”

As a society, sometimes we forget that even the most well-off people are human. It is obvious, but somehow, from time to time, we assume that their lives are all sunshine and rainbows. That is certainly not the case with City Girls rapper and multimedia mogul, Yung Miami. The significant other half of Diddy is seeing some tremendous success in her fairly young career. Several days ago, her man hyped her up by saying she could become the next Oprah Winfrey. That is a high remark, but she definitely has the potential.

From her podcast, Caresha Please, to all of her ventures in fashion, TV, and of course, her music, Miami is one busy woman. In fact, her show won the award for Best Hip-Hop Platform at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards last night (October 10). However, even with all of the accolades and cash flow, people can still be hurting deep down. Yung Miami proved this to be true in a recent video clip she shared to her Instagram.

A post shared by Caresha ..💗💋 (@yungmiami305)

In it, she is sitting down with her musical partner, JT. Right at the beginning it shows them talking about their 2020 album, City On Lock. While it helped push the duo even further into the mainstream, she was going through some heavy stuff. HipHopDx broke down what Miami said and she let it all come out. “Whenever I think about that [album], it just make me depressed.” The reason why she feels this way is because her ex-boyfriend, Jai Wiggins, father to her now pre-teen son, was murdered. She continues, “I feel like for death, it be a never-ending cycle. Me, personally, I get worse over time… Just to imagine the person not having their father.” We continue to wish Yung Miami and the family of Jai Wiggins well as they continue to recover through this.

What are your initial thoughts on Yung Miami saying how the City Girls 2020 album City On Lock makes her feel? Were you aware of what happened to Miami during that year? Do you think she should mention this on their next album, or should she let it be? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Yung Miami, City Girls, as well as the rest of the music world.
