Latto Performs At Coachella, Seemingly Shades Nicki Minaj & Previews New Music

It was a markedly wild weekend at Coachella, from Bad Bunny’s technical difficulties during his headlining set on night one to Frank Ocean’s disappointing return to the stage on Sunday (April 16). Somewhere in between those two milestones, Latto finally graced the Sahara stage with her presence. She obviously pulled out some of her discography’s most popular releases, much to fans’ pleasure. Aside from blessing the crowd with her own talent, the Atlanta-based artist also brought out Saweetie, as well as Tia Corrine to perform “Freaky T.” On top of those two surprises, she also gave Megan Thee Stallion a shoutout during her performance.

While there was certainly lots of evidence of Latto being a self-proclaimed “girl’s girl,” we did also hear her appear to throw shade at another rap diva – Nicki Minaj. The two famously beefed on social media a few weeks back, and while they never officially squashed it, both artists made it sound as though they had moved on from the drama. However, the 24-year-old poked the bear once again at Coachella, seemingly dissing the mother of one in an unreleased track she previewed during yesterday’s set.

Latto Teases New Song at Coachella

“Bitches acting like they running shit, they really ran through / She thought I would kiss her ass, she mustn’t have took her meds,” the “Wheelie” hitmaker chiefly spits in the unnamed track. “Say she got a problem, imaginary smoke / Bitch, you said it’s up, then put on the floor,” the speculative single continues. While she doesn’t definitively name-drop the “Super Bass” artist in the song, it wasn’t hard for fans to piece the puzzle together.

The blonde beauty also appeared to address her situation with Minaj once more before leaving the stage but again, no exact names were used. “Pussy hoe, let a bitch know, we tired of the subtweets this year,” she said while exiting the stage, seemingly in reference to her Twitter beef with the 40-year-old a few months back. Frank Ocean Reportedly Had Bike Accident Pre-Coachella, Forced Set Changes

Frank Ocean’s Weekend 1 set at Coachella on Sunday (April 16) angered many fans for being late, cut short, and generally bizarre. However, new rumors and alleged reports indicate that something else might have prompted last-minute changes to the set. Moreover, TMZ allegedly spoke to sources close to the situation, who revealed the star had a bike accident that resulted in a serious ankle injury. Furthermore, this occurred just days before his scheduled performance while he rode around the Empire Polo Club grounds while he was there to rehearse. Not only that, but it was reportedly so serious that doctors advised a change to the staging.

To elaborate, one of these big changes involved scrapping the initial plan for Frank Ocean’s set to feature an ice rink. Apparently, a casting director reached out to many L.A.-based hockey teams in March for an unknown paid performance. Then, participants saw the former Odd Future member at the audition, which allegedly cast over 100 players. Also, they reportedly rehearsed on an elevated rink at Paramount Studios and then went to Coachella grounds for a dress rehearsal a week before the show. Of course, it’s unclear how all this new info affected the decision to not livestream the performance as usual, which also happened with Björk’s set right before Ocean’s.

Frank Ocean’s Alleged Ankle Injury Might Have Caused Issues With Coachella Set

However, these new reports indicate that the players got to the festival on Sunday and received news that they scrapped the ice rink idea. Again, it’s unclear whether it was directly because of the supposed ankle injury, as these are still speculations. Instead of skating on ice, Frank Ocean’s team gave them Prada and had them join the singer on stage for his performance, mostly just walking around. With these rumors in mind, many wonder what might occur next weekend, or if the performance will even happen. In addition to all this, the “Pyramids” artist also teased a new album during his slot, which is definitely the carrot to the stick for this controversial performance.

Meanwhile, no party confirmed or denied any of these rumors as of writing this article. It’s also unclear how an ankle injury could be the reason for all these factors. As such, many fans likely took this with a grain of salt, and largely expressed little surprise at Frank Ocean’s elusive teasing. Still, that didn’t make them any less angry. While this is a very complicated and unclear situation, the silence doesn’t make it any easier to withdraw blame from the artist themselves. Even thought these might be factors far beyond his control, his frenzied fanbase still demands answers from his team or the festival. On that note, stay posted on HNHH with the latest news and updates surrounding Frank Ocean and his long-awaited Coachella performance.

Leonardo DiCaprio Not Dating Irina Shayk: Report

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly not dating Irina Shayk, despite the two being seen together at Coachella over the weekend. The two both attended Levi and Don Julio’s Neon Carnival event at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California after the performances at Coachella concluded on Saturday. They were later also spotted together at Frank Ocean’s headlining set on Sunday night. Shayk previously dated Bradley Cooper from 2015 to 2019.

TMZ says that sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell the outlet that DiCaprio and Shayk are just friends and were both at the event with a larger group. That group reportedly included Stella Maxwell and Tobey Maguire.

DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper have been friends for years and the two have previously hung out together with Shayk. Cooper and Shayk share a daughter, Lea De Seine, who was born in Los Angeles on March 21, 2017. Despite the breakup, the two continue to co-parent Lea and spent Thanksgiving together with their daughter. They were also spotted together in New York City in late 2022. In 2022, there were rumors that Cooper had begun dating Huma Abedin although the two never confirmed their relationship publically. DiCaprio most recently dated Daisy Jones & The Six actress Camila Morrone for four years, but they split in August 2022. In the months since, there were rumors that DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid had begun dating for a brief period.

As for his acting career, DiCaprio is set to star in Martin Scorsese’s next film, Killers of The Flower Moon. The movie will premiere later this year and detail a series of murders of wealthy Osage people that took place in Oklahoma in the early 1920s. DiCaprio stars alongside Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, and Lily Gladstone. When Scorsese submitted the film to screen at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, it was revealed that the runtime is 3 hours and 54 minutes, making it the longest of his career.

Lil Durk & Fivio Foreign Link Up At Coachella

Two of the biggest MCs of the “newer” generation (because Durk’s been at it for a while) just linked up at Coachella. Moreover, Fivio Foreign and Lil Durk both attended the Marc Jacobs party for the music festival, and it seems like the two gave short performances. In a clip shared by DJ Akademiks on Instagram, you can see the rappers embracing and having a brief conversation with each other. Furthermore, the pair haven’t released a collaboration in the past, although they do have the drill genre as somewhat of a unifying factor. While they may have different interpretations of it, they still could find a lot of chemistry there.

In fact, Durkio recently expressed a dream collaboration with SZA, so maybe he’ll make more requests for team-ups in the future. “@sza the goat,” Lil Durk penned on his Instagram Story. “Y’all bet not sleep or get blind. Every female every car every sale she really her… I need you on my album ASAP [trophy emoji and sunglasses emoji]. A hit not a regular song. Go tag sza blow her s**t down. Tell her Smurk need her.”

Fivio Foreign Daps Up Lil Durk At Marc Jacobs Coachella Event

On the other hand, Fivio Foreign recently took to his social media to tease another collaboration with Kanye West. Even though it’s unclear whether that will ever see the light of day, the New York rapper still sounded quite hungry on it. Of course, Kanye faced a lot of controversy recently that would impact the track’s hypothetical reception. Still, with the recent drop of his single “Hot Sauce,” fans will likely hear more from the 33-year-old sooner rather than later.

Whether that future album features Lil Durk or not is a question for Father Time, but this Coachella link-up feels promising. After all, the festival weekend brought audiences a lot of surprises and reunions. For example, Smurk popped out during GloRilla’s performance to spit their collaboration together, and Metro Boomin and Future kept teasing their joint album during the former’s set. As such, hopefully this meeting is one of those festival run-ins that shapes up into a fire track. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Fivio Foreign and Lil Durk.

What Was Bad Bunny’s Coachella Setlist For 2023?

Bad Bunny was the first of three headliners — Blackpink and Frank Ocean being the other two — of Coachella 2023, taking the stage on Friday night, April 15. Benito ratcheted up the anticipation with an Instagram thirst trap, and he delivered on his promises. (Although he’s still playing coy over whether he’s dating Kendall Jenner.)

Uproxx summarized Bad Bunny’s whirlwind set, which included several special guests.

“Bad Bunny closed out the night with a bang, and I’m not just about the fireworks during his main stage set. The Puerto Rican rapper drew the largest crowd of the night, and for good reason. While the moment was historic — Bad Bunny is the first Latin solo artist to ever headline the festival — he made sure to highlight the roots of Reggaeton music and credit the artists who made his success possible like Celia Cruz, El General, and Tego Calderón. On top of that, his show-stopping stage design cleverly nodded to the viral concert he performed on top of a gas station late last year.”

Bad Bunny started his Coachella set with the same two Un Verano Sin Ti songs he used to open the 2023 Grammys in early February: “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Moscow Mule.”

Latto’s Coachella Set Included Appearances From Lola Brooke And Saweetie, Along With A Possible Nicki Minaj Diss

Latto‘s first-ever Coachella set was an eventful one, as she pulled out all the stops, packing in surprise guests, and even apparently getting in a shot at Nicki Minaj.

Saweetie originally appeared on Latto’s 2019 remix of “Bitch From Da Souf” from Latto’s debut album Queen of Da Souf. Saweetie performed her verse from the song, receiving a huge pop from the crowd when she appeared. She also made it a point to big-up Latto after performing, saying, “She can rap her ass off… Bitch, and you look better than me!”

Meanwhile, Latto used her platform to help out a couple of rap’s rising stars, Lola Brooke and TiaCorine, bringing out the former to perform her signature hit “Don’t Play With It” (Latto appears on the remix) and the latter for a performance of the “FreakyT” remix.

Of course, the attention-getting moment was when Latto performed a new song in which she says the line “she thought I would kiss her ass, she must ain’t took her meds.” Fans have interpreted this as a shot at Minaj, with whom Latto has shared a contentious relationship ever since Nicki denigrated her achievements on Queen radio, leading to a spat on Twitter and a continuing cold war between the two.

We’ll see if Nicki sees it the same way and responds. For now, check out the clips above.
