Chlöe Dismissed Criticism Over Collaborating With Chris Brown On Her New Album ‘In Pieces’

Chlöe’s new album In Pieces mostly generated excitement among fans, but there was some backlash as well, over the Chris Brown-featuring song “How Does It Feel.” Now, Chlöe has spoken up about the collaboration.

She was asked about it in a recent interview with V-103 Atlanta’s The Big Tigger Morning Show (as Stereogum notes). She said:

“I always just wanna let the music speak for itself, and to be honest, no matter what I do, people always find things to say about it, so I’m used to it. I just choose to ignore it. People have every right to their opinions, freedom of speech, and it’s up to me to choose what I give my attention and energy to.”

In another recent interview, she also addressed negativity, saying, “The thing is, the same people who say that weren’t fans of Halle and [me] when we had our Ungodly Hour album out, The Kids Are Alright. So, it’s a bunch of people who are just putting in their two cents now just to really say things. Sis and I, we’ve been underground for a minute and the same people who talk weren’t around then or giving us our props then, and it’s like now they want to talk trash for some reason.”

Chloe Bailey Brushes Off Chris Brown Criticism

Chloe Bailey is receiving some harsh criticism for working with an abuser. The singer recently released her first solo album, In Pieces. The album is Chloe’s first full release outside of her R&B duo with her sister, Halle Bailey. While it is her first solo, Chloe still received plenty of help from industry friends by way of features. Both Future and Missy Elliott each hopped on a track, lending their talent to Chloe’s debut. One feature, however, has gotten people up in arms. The seventh song on the album, “How Does It Feel”, features none other than Chris Brown. Chloe was not bothered by the critics. She’s had more than her fair share of undo backlash recently. Still, with Brown’s past, is this one situation where that backlash might be valid?

Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown feels like a century ago, but few can how that ended. After an altercation in a car, Brown physically assaulted the singer. It was a horrific attack that left her battered and bruised. There was little in the way of an apology for his actions. Chris Brown’s abusive behavior didn’t stop there. He continued to make headlines in the coming years for multiple instances of violence and controversial behavior. Somehow, Brown manages to keep his career while others who have been accused of far fewer things do not.

Chloe To Critics: “Kiss My Booty”

In a new interview with Audacy’s V-103 podcast, Chloe had some choice words for those that would attempt to criticize her decision to include Chris Brown on her album. “I always just wanna let the music speak for itself,” Bailey says on the podcast. “And to be honest, no matter what I do, people always find things to say about it, so I’m used to it. I just choose to ignore it. People have every right to their opinions, freedom of speech, and it’s up to me to choose what I give my attention and energy to.”

It appears that Chloe is a big proponent of separating the art from the artist. That may be a valid thing to do, but is it possible when the artist has so much negativity in their past? Chloe seems to think so. Further speaking on her decisions, the actress and singer said, “Everything I’m doing is ordained by God, and I’m walking in my purpose, and anybody who has a problem with that can kiss my booty.” What do you think of Chloe brushing off the criticism? Let us know in the comments.

Chris Brown Gives Fan Steamy Lap Dance, Her BF Ends Their Relationship

Chris Brown has always been known as something of a ladies’ man, but his latest on-stage antics took things too far for one boyfriend in the crowd. During a recent performance in the UK, the R&B artist brought a female fan out to join him. He performed an ultra-steamy lap dance to 2007’s “Take You Down” that had the crowd going wild. Breezy’s dance moves were obviously wowing his audience. At the same time, the receiving patron’s partner caught their intimate moment on camera. He subsequently posted it on TikTok to vent to the world about what he’d just witnessed.

“POV: Buying my girlfriend front row tickets to see Chris Brown … I want my £500 [$615 USD] and my girlfriend back,” @dashthelith wrote in the caption of his since-deleted post. As The New York Post reports, the OP’s comment section quickly flooded with other users insisting that he end his relationship due to the disrespect. “Girls with celeb crushes are red flags,” one person wrote. “They would leave [you] in a heartbeat for that celeb crush.” Another chimed in with, “As a man, I was like, ‘That’s Chris Brown.’ But when she kissed him I would’ve dumped her too.”

Chris Brown’s Ultra Steamy Lap Dances Land Him in Trouble

@catchupnews

Chris Brown recently sparked fury after he grabbed former reality show star Natalia Zoppa by the throat during a l@p dance in Manchester. The singer has a history of domestic vi0lence from 2009, when he as$aulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna. #catchupnews #chrisbrown #breakup #singer

In an also-deleted update video, @dashthelith confirmed that he allegedly ended things with his girlfriend following the salacious display. “Just to update everyone regarding the Chris Brown concert, I’m no longer with my girlfriend. She said she doesn’t think what she did was wrong,” he wrote in response to a question on his original video. Seeing as the TikToks were removed earlier this weekend, there’s been speculation floating around that the entire stunt was simply for clout. Regardless, this certainly isn’t the first time the Virginia native has been so up close and personal with fans.

While giving yet another lap dance, the 33-year-old was previously enraged by the woman recording him. Brown was so angry, in fact, that he threw his fan’s phone while pulling off one of his signature moves. “F*CK DAT PHONE,” Brown wrote on Instagram after the show. Thankfully for the embarrassed attendee, others made sure she and her cell were reunited at the end of the night. Read more about that here, and let us know if you would break up with your partner in this situation below.

Chris Brown Accused of Beating Woman During Tulum Vacation, He Responds in DMs

Chris Brown

Chris Brown is accused of being another woman. A friend of Ammika, the mother of one of Brown’s children, stated she saw Breezy be abusive to Ammika during a vacation.

The woman hit Instagram and said they all went on vacation together, and she saw Brown physically abuse Ammika, claiming extensive damage to her ribs.

“Man I do not care what nobody says Chris Brown is a woman beater,” the woman wrote. “When I vacation with them in Tulum he beat ammika’s rib cages in to the point where she had to call in a doctor to make sure nothing was broken.”

The woman would also share a series of DMs with Brown where he laughed off the accusations and stated the woman telling the story must be broke.

Chris Brown Accused Of Abusing Ammika Harris By Woman Who Claims She Witnessed It

She doesn’t say much on social media, but Ammika Harris’s name stays in the headlines. Her relationship with Chris Brown is unclear as people assume they are together because they share an adorable son, Aeko Brown. However, Breezy doesn’t speak about his private life, but he and Harris have been spotted enjoying quality time together. They were photographed last month in Paris and out and about for Valentine’s Day. Harris was infamously involved in an altercation with Tommie Lee backstage at Brown’s concert in London; still, she’s an elusive figure that keeps herself away from the fray of online conversations.

However, a woman shone a light on Brown and Harris. On Instagram, a woman emerged with damaging allegations of domestic violence. She wasn’t the victim, yet claimed Harris was allegedly struck by the singer. The Neighborhood Talk shared the woman’s posts, but they hid her name. “Man I do not care what nobody says chris brown is a woman beater,” the person wrote. “When I when I vacation with them in tulum he beat ammika’s rib cages in to the point where she had to call in a doctor to make sure nothing was broken.”

Anonymous Allegations About Ammika Harris

The woman didn’t provide a timeline or explain her relationship with the couple. The public assumed she was friends with Harris, but that wasn’t clarified. Additionally, she also shared a DM exchange said to be with Brown. In it, it looks like the hitmaker sent two photos to her and then wrote, “U must be broke looking for attention.” She told him to “gtfo out my dms” and “ain’t nobody broke my n*gga. And you know damn well you beat that b*tch up.” Brown replied with a crying laughing emoji. He added, “Whatever u say shawty.”

The woman was unmoved and said, “Please don’t come for me cus I humble n*ggas. Now go give your b*tch a perc cus she hurt.” After sharing the screenshot, she wrote over the image, “Somebody find this man karrueche so he’ll stfu.” She was, of course, referencing Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. The actress also accused the singer of domestic violence and was given a restraining order again him.

Staying Silent

Aside from this exchange, there hasn’t been development on these allegations. Brown hasn’t addressed the controversy. His past has been a hot topic throughout his career, especially after it was learned the American Music Awards canceled his performance. Some believe his violent altercation with Rihanna all those years ago continues to haunt him. According to Brown, he’ll go where he’s loved and isn’t worried about people who don’t allow him to grow. Major Songs Muni Long Has Co-Written

In case you didn’t know, Priscilla Renea Hamilton is Muni Long.  Priscilla Renea is Muni Long as well.  And yes, Priscilla Hamilton is Muni Long!  You may have seen these names and thought they were different people, but they are all one person.  One amazingly talented Florida artist.

Muni Long has been in the game for a while now.  She got her first start in 2008 on the song “Here I Am” by the girl group, Girlicious.  When she was on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, she recalled having the opportunity to get in the studio with Drake.  Throughout the years, Long has gained notoriety as a songwriter, even being a part of the Academy Awards committee.

Let’s take a look at the songs Muni Long has co-written.

Your Favorite Artists

Muni Long has worked with some of the biggest artists in R&B.  A few of the artists she has worked with might be your favorite.  In 2010, she worked with Barbados singer Rihanna on her album, Loud.  She was on the team that helped write the song, “California King Bed”, a combination of R&B and rock.  Long also provided the background vocals for the “break-up” single.

The following year, she worked with the “Umbrella” artist’s former flame, Chris Brown.  She helped write his hit, “Beg for It”, which was included on the deluxe edition of his fourth studio album, F.A.M.E.  The Public Displays of Affection Too artist was called upon again by Breezy for his follow up to F.A.M.E.  His hit song, “Don’t Wake Me Up”, was written in one night, to which Long attributed to.

Mary J. Blige was next on the list as the Florida singer helped Blige write “Don’t Mind”.  This was the last single off her album, My Life II…The Journey Continues (Act 1), but wasn’t the last time the two have worked together.  They came together for two songs off the soundtrack for the movie, Think Like A Man Too, “Wonderful” and “Kiss and Make Up”.

Long ended up getting the opportunity to write for Mariah Carey a few years later.  In 2015, she contributed to “Infinity” off Carey’s compilation album, #1 to Infinity.  The “Hrs and Hrs” singer worked with the Grammy winning artist again in 2018.  She helped write “A No No”, a song that sampled “Crush on You” by Lil Kim.  Just like in “California King Bed”, Long provided background vocals here as well.

Muni Long is Versatile

Priscilla Renae can make music with anyone.  She has proven throughout her career as she has worked with artists across different genres.   In 2011, Muni Long served as the lone songwriter on two songs by Selena Gomez and her band the Scene.  “Bang Bang Bang” and “Who Says” are two different songs as the songwriter switches up from Electro-disco to pop, respectively.

Long continued on this wave when she worked with Madonna, the following year.  She serves as one of the writers on the “Material Girl”’s single, “Gang Bang”.  “Gang Bang” is a mix of techno, electronic, dance, and pop.

In 2013, Long was tasked to help write Pitbull’s hit song, “Timber” featuring Kesha.  The popular song was a mix of EDM, dance-pop, folktronica, and country. She helped write pop group Fifth Harmony’s hit, “Worth It” featuring Kid Ink in 2015 and followed it up next year on “Write on Me”.

After working with a legend in Mariah Carey in 2018, the 34-year-old singer also worked with pop superstar Ariana Grande later on that year.  For her fifth studio album, Grande tapped Long for “imagine”.  After its success, the two linked up again in 2020 for two songs off her album, Positions,  “six thirty” and “just like magic”.

Pop star Nick Jonas got a chance to write two songs with Muni Long from his album, Last Year Was Complicated,  “Bacon” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and “Touch” both have a mix of R&B and Pop.

She has also worked with Demi Lovato, Charlie Puth, and the Florida Georgia Line.

Evidently, there’s not a genre she can’t do.

Hitmaker

Long before Muni Long released “Hrs and Hrs”, she saw chart success.  Long has surely been a part of some hits!  ”California King Bed” is a 2x platinum song topping the charts worldwide in countries like Switzerland and the United Kingdom.  ”Worth It” is 4x platinum with its highest ranking coming in at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  She helped Fifth Harmony to be the first United States girl group to have a top 20 hit in 6 years at the time.

One of her biggest contributions was to “Timber”.  Pitbull’s hit song was amongst Billboard’s Top 100 Songs of the Decade.  It was number one on the Hot 100 chart for three weeks straight!  ”Timber” is a certified Diamond song, which Long can put on her resume when many artists can’t .

In 2017, Muni Long can say she won a Grammy.  She had her hands all over Kelly Clarkson’s hit song, “Love So Soft”, as it won Best Solo Pop Performance at the 60th Academy awards.  Long is one of three songwriters, and also is credited for background vocals and vocal production.

Many of the “Time Machine” singer’s contributions have hit the charts or are still on the charts around the world.  She’s a hitmaker and a winner!

Let us know which Muni Long songs are your favorite in the comments!

H.E.R’s Best Collaborations

H.E.R. is a name wrapped in a mystery. Two years ago, no one knew who the true identity of the singer was, and her real name (Gabriella ‘Gabi’ Wilson) was a mystery. Everyone thinks of her as a musical ghost. You may either know her by her voice or the sunglasses that hide her face, but knowing H.E.R. is all that matters.

However, the American singer has won over the heart of R&B fans globally with her smooth voice and deep lyrics. To truly understand the sense of H.E.R.’s growth, we review some of her best collaborations.

“Make the Most” by H.E.R and Lonr

Without a doubt, “Make the Most” is a genuine R&B song. This song is a three-minute song that is catchy and fun to listen to. As the world slowly comes into focus, Lonr. and H.E.R.’s lovelorn lyrics blend beautifully to a heavenly degree. The hook says, “I wanna grow old with you, make the most with you, That’s the goal.”

“Making the Most” is more than just a great collaboration for Lonr. It’s also a sneak peek at his first EP, Land of Nothing Real. Nevertheless, this song is a love letter and a criticism of the way police are always violent in America. It emphasizes the fact that tomorrow is never promised.

“Best Part” by H.E.R and Daniel Ceaser

The compilation album H.E.R. came out on October 20, 2017, and it had songs from all three EPs in this series. The smash acoustic collaboration, ‘Best Part,’ included the beautiful thoughts of Daniel Ceasar.

Undeniably, this soft, thoughtful love song has become a mainstay on alternative radio. This song was on H.E.R.’s most successful personal release to date. It was nominated for Album of the Year and Best New Artist at the 61st Grammy Awards, where it won the Best R&B Album award.

“We Going Crazy” by DJ Khaled, Migos, and H.E.R

This song by DJ Khaled features both H.E.R and Migos. Khaled and H.E.R. have never worked together before on any music. Interestingly, this is their first collaboration and it turned out to be a smash hit! “We going crazy” is a song all about how lucky you are to have life, money, and family.

“Hey, oh, I know that you heard about me

We pull up in the alley out there

Let that go, run us our money and don’t be late, yeah”

You should definitely check this song out if you haven’t and experience H.E.R.’s grand voice.

“The Lay Down”

The song “The Lay Down” by DRAM and H.E.R. is a great R&B song and a chill anthem. Solely, because it has all of the best parts of R&B. It has soothing melodies and a change to a well-known tune. “The Lay Down” is a song with a lot of soul and sexuality, perfect for a romantic evening.

“Smile”

Smile is an amazing song that features H.E.R and the Nigerian rapper Wizkid. Thse two professional singers surprise the world with their beautiful hit chill song.

Most importantly, this song is great because H.E.R sings in a foreign language and the beat is catchy. Smile is a cool, catchy love song with a lot of strong verses that make it a must-listen tune. This love song topped many African music charts due to her collaboration with Wizkid.

“One Second” by Stormzy and H.E.R

“One Second” is a sweet song that was nicely written and composed. This 2019 song is part of H.E.R best’s collaboration which you can afford to miss. The song portrays the struggle of being a superstar with strong political ideas. In the past, Stormy has once made a political statement, which he admits in the song. He says that he will always fight for what he believes in, no matter how it affects his brand.

Quotable Lyrics:

“One second to recollect

Just a second, a second is all I get

I can’t tell where I’m heading, I’m outta breath

All these early premonitions of my death (Ooh)”

“In This Way” (with Khalid)

“This Way” is a soulful song about how important it is to talk to your partner. This song is called “slow-burning” by Nerisha Penrose because the tension between the two lovers builds as they tell each other how much they hurt. The song starts with the man’s view of their relationship, then moves on to the woman’s view, and then changes to a duet. The duet becomes an important part of the song because it shows that they don’t like each other very much.

If you are having mixed feelings about something, this collaboration might just be what you need! Check it out and let’s know what you feel about it!

“Find a Way” (featuring Lil Baby and Lil Durk)

In her song “Find a Way,” which features Lil Durk and Lil Baby, H.E.R. stresses the importance of sticking to one’s guns. She combines her perfect, soft, but strong voice with words about persistence to make a catchy hook that both Durk and Baby follow carefully.

Furthermore, the main message of the song is to stay true to yourself. Baby and Durk add verses about their lives before they were famous and the troubles they faced along the way.  Basically, money is clearly the main motivation, and getting to the bag has costs and consequences, such as broken relationships and angry enemies.

Quotable Lyrics: “I got in my bag, and when I looked up, I saw nothing but haters. No matter how much money we spent, we never let the paper follow us.”

Come Through (with Chris Brown)

With each new song she puts out, H.E.R.’s popularity grows. In 2021, she released this song with fellow hitmaker Chris Brown. “Come Through,” is a song that portrays exactly what the title suggests. On “Come Through,” a deep and chill duet, H.E.R. and Chris Brown trade rhyme about how they want to see each other and cancel other plans to do so.

Nevertheless, “Come Through” isn’t the first time H.E.R. has collaborated with Brown. In 2019, they worked together on “Come Together,” a song on Brown’s “Indigo” album.

“Better Than I Imagined” (with Robert Glasper)

Robert Glasper collaborated with H.E.R. and Meshell Ndegeocello on “Better Than I Imagined.”  Like many of H.E.R’s best-known songs, this one is soft, sensual, and hard to stop listening to. It’s also full of both true love and heartbreak. But there is more to it than that. “Black lives matter, and so does Black love. No one wants to live without love, but generations of people in our community haven’t had the means to be in healthy relationships,” Glasper said (via Rolling Stone). H.E.R won the 2021 Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for her part in the song.
