Cardi B’s Community Service Was Extended After She Completed Zero Hours So Far

Cardi B is a busy person, as you can probably imagine. In addition to working on her second studio album, the workaholic mother of two has also been filming commercials for the Super Bowl, dealing with court cases, and running a few businesses. Unfortunately, all that apparently left little time for her to complete the community service required of her September plea deal in the 2018 strip club assault case against her.

This presumably is why Cardi found herself in court in New York City yesterday receiving a two-month extension on her 15 days of community service. Tuesday (January 17) was her original deadline but according to People, she hadn’t gotten around to completing any of the requirements while running around making surprise appearances at shows for Bad Bunny, GloRilla, and Lizzo, to say nothing of mourning the death of the late Takeoff, who was her husband Offset’s literal family.

In a statement, Cardi’s attorney said, “Personally and professionally, Cardi is dedicated to community service and charitable endeavors. She therefore appreciates the court giving her until March 1 to complete her community service commitment in Queens, New York.”

Cardi B Explains Why She Didn’t Address Rumors About Offset & Saweetie

Prepare to be inundated with news about Cardi B. The “Up” rapper recently sat down with her friend Jason Lee for his new Revolt series, and she’s addressing all the controversies she once avoided. We’ve been steadily reporting on the updates from the intimate interview, and the latest clip focuses on those rumors about Saweetie and Offset.

Lee asked why Cardi decided not to respond to the gossip. “You know why I was quiet?” she answered. “I was quiet because one thing I’m gonna do, I’m gonna find out the truth.”

“And you know that I was finding out that truth,” she continued. “So, it’s like, if I entertain something that I know is not true, on the internet, people be like, ‘Oh, it is true because you’re addressing it. But when I don’t address it, it’s true or not, as well.”

“So, I’m like, you know what? I’m just not gonna entertain the bullsh*t, because if I entertain it, it’s gonna keep goin’ longer and longer,” Cardi also added. “At the end of the day, I know what’s going on in my house.”

Lee commended Cardi on her growth for knowing when to restrain from getting involved in social media shenanigans.

“When the Selena girl said she was pregnant by Offset, and she was showing her stomach,” said Cardi. “She even showed the baby and everything. And I was going so hard like, ‘It’s not true!’ Every single time that I kept saying this, it’s not true, people on purpose kept saying, ‘It’s true!’

“So, it’s like, I have learned from those experiences not to even address things that’s going on in my home,” she continued. “When I know the truth. ‘Cause it’s like, people gonna make it worse, ’cause it’s just entertainment.”

The rumors of Offset and Saweetie first took off after it was alleged that Quavo hinted at the affair. On his track “Messy” Takeoff, Quavo rapped: “B*tch f*cked my dawg behind my back, but I ain’t stressin’ (Not at all) / You wanted the gang, you shoulda just said it, we would have blessed it (You shoulda just said it) / Now sh*t got messy (Uh).”

Later, Cardi said Offset would address the rumor on his next album. “STAY TUNED,” she wrote at the time. Listen to Cardi explain herself above.

Cardi B Explained How She ‘Downstairs DJs’ With Those Extra Long Nails: ‘I Rub It’

As recognizable as Cardi B‘s hits are, she’s almost just as well-known for her signature looks — especially her extra-long nails, which she often flaunts online in both pro photoshoots and selfies. Her latest bejeweled look, which she posted on Instagram on Monday (January 16), got plenty of attention from fans but also raised some questions — and Cardi answered one in her typical bold way.

When a fan questioned whether the length of her claws interferes with her “intimate” activities, Cardi hinted at her preferred workaround (and probably gave a sneaky protip to all the ladies out there looking to emulate her lewks). “How does she finger herself with them?” read the fan’s query. “I don’t,” Cardi replied. “I rub it.” Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Fans couldn’t contain their flustered responses, which ranged from impish agreement to thirsty curiosity. We’re ignoring the salty dudes, though.

Cardi’s unfiltered approach to sharing her thoughts always results in hilarious responses from fans. As recently as two weeks ago, Cardi turned a teasing moment with Lizzo into an opportunity to tell the “Good As Hell” singer she “tastes like tamarindo.” She also recently explained why she rapped about “fighting over d*ck” on GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2,” saying, “If a b*tch goes through your purse and she steals some of your money, you not gonna fight that b*tch?”

Cardi B Didn’t Submit “WAP” To Grammys Because Of The Internet

There has been much said about Cardi B in recent days as Jason Lee teases his interview with the rapper. Hollywood Unlocked‘s founder is ushering in his new project, The Jason Lee Show, courtesy of Revolt. He is known for his in-depth interviews with some of the industry’s most notable stars—like his widely publicized sit down with Kanye West.

Lee and Cardi are friends, making this conversation highly anticipated as it’s expected the rapper will speak candidly about topics she doesn’t normally address. In a clip, the discussion shifted toward her megahit “WAP” and why she opted not to submit the track to the Grammys.

“This is what I was mad about, ’cause this shoulda got a Grammy,” Lee said. “I’m probably gonna get a call about this later because this is what I tell her on the phone. I tell you this on the phone.”

“You know what,” Cardi began. “This is something where it’s like, I need to stop letting the internet control my life. ‘Cause I didn’t want to submit ‘WAP’ because I was afraid that if I win or if I—you know what’s so crazy? The internet got me even afraid of winning. That is insane.

Lee replied when Cardi first told him of her reasoning, he “wanted to jump through the phone.”

Cardi B’s Strip Club Attack Takes Her Back To Court, Rapper Skipped 15 Days Of Community Service

Cardi B got off relatively easy in court when it came to her infamous 2018 strip club brawl. Last September, the mother of two and her co-defendants pleaded guilty to two misdemeanour charges. At the same time, they saw the dismissal of ten other counts – two of which were felonies.

As a punishment, the Invasion of Privacy artist’s sentence requires she complete 15 days of community service. In a statement following her day in court, Bardi said, “Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions.”

Unfortunately for her, the New York native was unable to walk the walk. After failing to finish her sentence, Cardi B found herself in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday (January 17). As per usual, she looked incredibly glamorous, sporting a tight white dress, oversized fur coat, and matching Dior sunglasses.

It remains unclear exactly what the 30-year-old said to the judge. However, it’s possible Takeoff’s recent passing is part of the reason she was unable to fulfill her commitment. In the weeks since the Migos member’s untimely death, she’s been doing her part to take care of her husband, Offset, and their kids.

Thankfully for Cardi, she was given one last chance to get her community service done. According to Daily Mail, she has until March 1 to get her days in, or she could face jail time.

In a statement to the outlet, the entertainer’s lawyer, Drew Findling shared his client’s thoughts on the situation. “Personally and professionally, Cardi is dedicated to community service and charitable endeavours,” he said. “She therefore appreciates the court giving her until March 1st to complete her community service commitment in Queens, New York.”

In other news, Cardi B sat down with Jason Lee as the first guest on his new podcast. They got candid about everything from her past with plastic surgery, to how she reacted to the news of Takeoff’s death in December.

Cardi Remembers Offset’s Immediate Reaction To The News Of The Late Takeoff’s Death

2023 is looking like the year of Cardi B’s return. A couple of days ago, the rapper teased her first album in five years. She also just hopped on the first episode of the REVOLT show to catch fans up on what she’s doing. The episode is full of a lot of interesting conversation, but she also discussed remembering Offset’s reaction to the tragic death of Takeoff.

“We was in bed,” she said. “We was going to go to La La’s party in New York, and my daughter threw up all over my costume… We just fell asleep, and out of nowhere, Offset’s phone kept ringing, and mine kept ringing.”

She continued, “Offset picked up the phone, and he’s just like ‘No!’ screaming [over and over].” Finally, when his wife asked what was wrong, Offset replied, “Takeoff is dead.”

She smacked her husband in disbelief, begging him not to say something so horrible.

Earlier this month, other Migos member Quavo shared a heartbreaking tribute to Takeoff, “Without You.” It captures the rapper’s grief in graphic detail. “Tears rolling down my eyes / Can’t tell you how many times I cried / Days ain’t the same without you,” he sang.

Cardi B Says Offset Changed His Ways After She Filed For Divorce

Their fans see them as Hip Hop “couple goals,” but Cardi B and Offset’s bliss was a long journey. The couple met in early 2017 and married that Fall, and by April 2018, they were expecting their first child. However, in 2020, it was reported Cardi filed for divorce amid allegations of infidelity on the part of the Migos rapper. One month later, Cardi and Offset were back together.

“Me and Offset, we was not seeing eye to eye,” she told Jason Lee on his new Revolt series. “This was like, the same year that I filed for divorce and everything.”

The “Up” hitmaker interrupted her story to say she wanted her husband to share some of this information for himself. Lee agreed, cutting off Cardi and adding he wanted Offset to speak for himself, as well.

“I’m gonna let him talk about this because, what was—the main thing that was really bothering me, I’mma let him say it,” Cardi stated. “I want him to say it because I really feel like that’s a part of his story.”

“The main thing that I wanted to stop and everything, he stopped,” she continued. “He changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me.”

Cardi B Talks Takeoff’s Death, Plastic Surgery, Quavo’s “Messy” & More With Jason Lee

The five-year anniversary of Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, is quickly approaching. Unfortunately for her fans, a release date is not yet set for her sophomore effort. Still, many have their fingers crossed we’ll see it arrive in 2023.

For the most part, the New York native has been in full mommy mode as of late. Since welcoming her second child with Offset, Wave, last year, she’s been prioritizing family time with her husband and their daughter, Kulture. However, recent photos reveal that she’s returning to the studio. This sent social media into a frenzy this past weekend.

Cardi often gives glimpses of her life on her own Instagram and Twitter pages. However, the interviews she gives are few and far between. As she seemingly prepares to step back into the world, though, the mother of two sat down with Jason Lee to answer a few burning questions.

For the first episode of his REVOLT show, the Hollywood Unlocked CEO got candid with his long-time friend about plastic surgery. She’s always been candid about her past with cosmetic work, and this conversation was no different. In fact, failing to do proper research into a non-surgical nose job led her to regret the process that “f*cked her nose up.”

After filming the “WAP” music video with Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi opted to go for a professional rhinoplasty. Though she’s had several procedures herself, the 30-year-old made it clear that they weren’t out of insecurity. Rather, a desire to achieve a certain image for herself.

Following Wave’s birth, the “Lick” hitmaker spent seven months waiting to get her body done. According to her, she had to wait for her surgery to be able to “pop out” again the way fans have been begging her to.

Additionally, Cardi reveals where she was when she learned of Takeoff’s passing. “Was was in bed,” she recalls. “We was going to go to La La’s party in New York, and my daughter threw up all over my costume… We just fell asleep, and out of nowhere, Offset’s phone kept ringing, mine kept ringing.”

She went on, “Offset picked up the phone and he’s just like ‘No!’ screaming [over and over].” When his wife asked him what was wrong, the rapper responded, “Takeoff is dead.” Upon hearing the news, she apparently smacked him and begged him not to say something so horrible.

The Migos member continued to throw things, vomit, and run around the house, leaving Cardi scared. “It was terrible,” she admitted. “Everything was so triggering.”

Elsewhere on The Jason Lee Show, Cardi B gets real about her struggles with anxiety, being an introvert, and her thoughts on Quavo’s “Messy” track with Takeoff. Check it out below, and come back later for more pop culture news updates.
