Camila Cabello Seemingly Teases Lyrics For Drake Interlude “UUUGLY”

Camila Cabello and Drake are really building up the hype. The two pop stars are linking up for Cabello’s upcoming album, and Drake will actually be featured on multiple songs. The first is called “Hot Uptown,” and the second is a Drake interlude titled “UUUGLY.” Not much has been revealed about the songs, but Cabello recently penned a letter to a fan, and it contained lyrics for the “UUUGLY” interlude in the text.

“Don’t make me pull out these credit card statements and show you the proof,” the letter read. “It’ll get UUUGLY.” The singer signed her name at the bottom, while clarifying that she was not insulting the fan she was giving it to. “PS, it’s only lyrics,” she explained. “We’re not beefin.” The lyrics are from the “UUUGLY” interlude. In other words, they will be uttered by the 6 God himself. Cabello told Billboard that she liked the idea of breaking conventions and giving a song to a featured artist on her own album. “Why does he have his own song,” she asked rhetorically. “Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album.”

Drake’s Lyrics On “UUUGLY” Suggest Unfinished Business

Cabello’s reasoning was simple. She wanted to rebel against the parameters she’d set for herself on her previous albums. “I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood,” she explained. “Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his sh*t.” The singer confirmed that she will contribute background vocals to the interlude. It’s worth noting that the lyrics Cabello wrote down are combative in nature. The singer felt the need to clarify she wasn’t “beefin” with her fan because the lyrics imply their target is a phony. One can’t help but apply the context of Drake’s recent battle with Kendrick Lamar.

Drizzy claimed that he fed Kendrick Lamar false information about a daughter, which the latter went and used on “Meet the Grahams.” Drake never provided evidence of this set up, but it’s possible the lyrics in the “UUUGLY” interlude could be referring back to this incident. The rapper has eschewed conflict since he claimed he was embracing “summer vibes,” but it hasn’t resulted in successful music. The Sexyy Red duet “U My Everything” fell flat. Then there was the “Wah Gwan Delilah” debacle, in which Drake thought it was a good idea to cover Plain White T’s. Hopefully these Cabello collabs get him out of his funk.

Drake Appears On Multiple Songs From Camila Cabello’s Upcoming Album ‘C, XOXO,’ She Explains

Camila Cabello’s upcoming album C, XOXO is now just a month away, as it’s set to drop at the end of June. As Cabello reveals in a new Billboard interview, the project should please Drake fans.

Cabello revealed that she and Drake were spotted in those much-discussed vacation photos because they were finishing a track together. She also divulged that she first reached out to Drake via Instagram DMs, saying, “He’s the f*cking GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars. I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it. [The feature] came out of a non-transactional place. He had this idea of a song called ‘Hot Uptown,’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.”

Billboard describes the song as a “flirtatious, Caribbean-infused track.” It turns out the song isn’t only Drake’s appearance on the album, as he sings on the near-two-minute interlude “Uuugly” that immediately follows. Calvin Harris says the track was Drake’s idea, saying, “He wanted to do one more thing for the album.”

Cabello added, “Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album [laughs]. I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his sh*t.”

Camila Cabello And Lil Nas X Compete For The Same Man (Sort Of) In Their New ‘He Knows’ Video

Camila Cabello’s latest album, C, XOXO, is now a month and change away from its late June release date. To hold the fans over, Cabello’s latest single is the Lil Nas X team-up “He Knows,” which they’ve now given a new video.

The clip’s narrative is that the two artists are going toe-to-toe over the same man, but there’s ultimately a catch.

Cabello told Rolling Stone, “I’ve just never seen that in a video before. I just loved the idea of us fighting over this fluid guy, who we don’t know which way he’s leaning. We both would have so much fun with this and have so much fun with the video, so we got to make it a reality.”

She previously said of her upcoming album, “It’s really sitting in the discomfort of things and realizing there’s not gonna be a neat, in-a-box answer. I feel strong in these ways, weak in these ways, and there’s no real clear answer here. But the album process has been such a journey. It started out with me having that intention of going back to how it started for me, which was just sitting with myself and really getting back to that first passion of songwriting. Nerding out over references and artists and poetry — whatever — and really tapping into that.”

Camila Cabello & Lil Nas X Provide A Much-Improved Offering With “HE KNOWS”

About a month and a half ago, Cuban pop sensation and former Fifth Harmony figure Camila Cabello had fans severely divided. The 27-year-old dropped the lead single for her upcoming fourth solo effort C,XOXO, “I LUV IT.” It was a head-scratcher for a lot of people, to put it lightly. Her repetitive and frankly annoying chorus, mixed with the hodge podge of an instrumental were harsh on the ears. Additionally, the track had a Playboi Carti feature that was out of place. Simultaneously, it has gone on to easily be his worst feature of the year so far. This time around, Camila Cabello looks to right the ship with “HE KNOWS.”

For us, this song far and away is of higher quality than “I LUV IT” in a multitude of ways. Instrumentally, the rhythm that we are accustomed to from a Cabello track is back. It is groovy, as well as dizzying, but in a good way. There are some hypnotic background vocals from what we assume are from her as well. Vocally, Camila does not come off sounding like a spoiled brat, which is how we would describe her delivery on “I LUV IT.”

Then, the feature, which is provided by Lil Nas X, is also an improvement. It is more fun, animated, and honestly quite hilarious. It still may not be for everyone, but it is far more memorable in comparison to Carti. Camila Cabello is set to drop C,XOXO June 28 and the single cover art you see above is supposed to be the LP’s artwork as well. Be sure to check out “HE KNOWS” with the video link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “HE KNOWS” by Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X? Do you this offering is better than “I LUV IT” with Playboi Carti, why or why not? Who had the stronger performance on this cut? Does this have you excited for her fourth solo album, C,XOXO? Camila Cabello And Lil Nas X Are ‘Dancefloor Connoisseurs’ On Their Upcoming Single, ‘He Knows’

Both Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X are experiencing career Renaissances, of sorts, so it makes sense that they would team up in the midst of all this rebirth to drop an unexpected, but not wholly unsurprising, collaboration on their fans. “He Knows” is due on Friday, May 10, and promises to put to be an upbeat, witty single, judging by the presumed lyrics that Cabello shared in her social media announcement: “She’s a provocateur, dancefloor connoisseur,” she wrote.

“He Knows” is Cabello’s second single of the year — and second to employ a genre-bending rapper — after the Playboi Carti-featuring “I Luv It.” The two singles in rapid succession precede Camila’s upcoming album C, XOXO, which will be the former girl group member’s first new collection of music in over two years. Her last album was 2022’s Familia. C, XOXO is slated for release on June 28 via Geffen and Interscope (her first under the new label partnership after leaving Epic in late 2022.

Lil Nas X, meanwhile, has been slowly releasing his mixtape Nasarati 2 on SoundCloud, with four tracks out so far. He also recently teamed up with Kevin Abstract for their long-awaited collaboration, “Tennessee.”

Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X’s “He Knows” is due on 5/10. You can get more info here.

Camila Cabello Reveals That Part Of Her ‘I Luv It’ Video With Playboi Carti Wasn’t Part Of The Plan

Camila Cabello did a recent interview appearance on Power 106 Los Angeles, where she opened up about how part of the “I Luv It” music video wasn’t entirely planned.

As Playboi Carti appears in the video for their collab, he had been running late and they decided to film in a gas station.

“Something happened with his plane, it was, like, this whole insane… chaos with the video,” Cabello shared. “He got there after the music video was actually wrapped, so we had to find a place to film his part of the video.”

“We ended up paying the guy that worked at the gas station to let it stay open for us,” she added. “So [Carti] got there and my mom had the… video screen and was low-key kinda directing. We had to beg the crew to stay.”

Thankfully, it all worked out, even if things were a bit hectic in the moment. Carti and Cabello got along really well. She wound up getting him on a song simply by sending him a DM on Instagram. “I said, ‘Hey, butterfly,” she pointed out in a separate interview for Apple Music. “And then he said, ‘CC,’ and then I said, ‘Carti.’ It was really cute.”

Check out Cabello discussing the “I Luv It” music video backstory, which starts around the 6-minute mark, above.

Playboi Carti & Nav Link Up At The Club

Very few artists are subject to as many bizarre news stories as Playboi Carti. A few weeks ago the Antagonist Tour that he announced last year was formally canceled. The tour was teased to include his entire Opium lineup with artists like Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely. After multiple delays fans that bought tickets got messages last month that the tour had been formally canceled. But in the wake of the cancelation he’s treated fans to some new material.

Last week, he teamed up with Camila Cabello for a new single that had fans divided. The track is called “I LUV IT” and features elements of hyperpop mixed with Camila’s usual style. Carti contributed a guest verse to the song that left a lot of fans watching more. He also only briefly appears in the music video because he reportedly arrived after they wrapped filming. He was on time for music video shoot for “FEIN!” with Travis Scott. The video dropped last week ahead of the pair’s performance on Saturday Night Live. Check out the newest artist he’s crossed paths with below.

Playboi Carti And Nav Partying Together

In new photos making the rounds online, Playboi Carti and Nav are hanging out in the club. The pics come from earlier this week when the pair were spotted out together. The pair have appeared on two songs together. Most notably, Carti joined Offset on the song “Minute” from Nav and Metro Boomin’s collab album Perfect Timing. They also both appear on the Mustard song “Baguettes In The Face” from his 2019 album Perfect Ten.

Carti has dropped a number of singles on YouTube this year accompanied by DIY music videos. None of the tracks have made it to streaming yet, nor has Carti spoken much on when a new album could materialize. What do you think of Playboi Carti and Nav crossing paths during a night out? Do you want to see the two cross paths on a song again? Let us know in the comment section below.

Camila Cabello & Playboi Carti Drop Controversial Collab “I LUV IT”

About four months ago, Playboi Carti and pop star Camila Cabello of Fifth Harmony fame were making headlines. There were photos of the two of them in the studio together, as well as a screenshot of the rapper on FaceTime with the hitmaker. Dating rumors were sparked when the “Magnolia” creator captioned the studio session Instagram story post saying, “baby girl.” Now, we know that they were cooking up a new song “I LUV IT” which is out now.

Cabello is no stranger to linking with hip-hop artists throughout her career. During her Fifth Harmony days, the radio was constantly bumping “Work from Home” with Ty Dolla $ign. “Worth It” with Kid Ink was also another party hit during that era. Of course, when she went solo, Camila put out “Havana” with Young Thug and “My Oh My” with DaBaby.

Most saw those previous crossovers as successful. However, “I LUV IT” is not getting the reaction that Carti and Camila may have not been expecting. People are extremely mixed on it so far with some saying that this ruined Carti’s “generational run.” The deeper delivery makes its return to a fast-paced beat that just does not fit the lighter tone of the song. Additionally, while repetitive choruses can be done right, Camila’s “I love it” refrain just does not come off right. Finally, the Gucci Mane “Lemonade” post-chorus sample is out of place too. However, there are also a good deal of people who are enjoying it. Give it a shot with the video link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “I LUV IT,” by Camila Cabello and Playboi Carti? Is this one of the oddest collaborations/crossovers of the year, why or why not? Do you see this song performing well, why or why not? Does this get you excited for Camila’s upcoming album? Should these two work together again? I go soprano, baby, go down low
And when he leads, I gotta follow (Ooh)

Camila Cabello And Playboi Carti Are On The Run In Their Action-Packed Video For ‘I Luv It’

Camila Cabello has kicked off her new era. Today (March 27), the Cuban hitmaker has shared her new single, “I Luv It,” which features the elusive Playboi Carti.

Over a frenetic beat, Cabello finds herself in a state of infatuation, embracing young love. “Super twisted, sick addicted / Kiss me hard, like someday you’ll miss this / In your shower, in your power / Seein’ stars, oh my God,” she sings in one of the song’s verses.

The song also features a prominent sample of Gucci Mane‘s “Lemonade.”

“Certain things in our human realm do make me feel like I’m in outer space, and the very rare few times where I’ve had incredible chemistry with someone is one of them,” said Cabello in a statement. “Part of that cocktail is also the emotional drama between you and that person, and the chaos and butterflies and nerves and passion. It’s unsustainable and not peaceful and exhausting, but also, I LUV IT”

In the song’s accompanying video, Cabello and Carti make a thrilling escape, dodging obstacles like exploding cars, home invasions, and fires. But the two reunite in a Miami bodega, dancing their way through the delusions of love.
