J. Cole Shocks Twitter With Upcoming Collab With J-Hope Of BTS
J Cole continues the incredible feature run he’s had over the past few years. However, we haven’t seen the entire range of his versatility. We’ve seen him lock in with he appeared alongside the late Guru on Gang Starr’s “Family Jewels.” He linked up with BIA on the 2022 hit, “London,” where he proved how tapped in he is with UK culture. This week, he’ll be expanding his catalog to touch K-Pop fans with a new collab alongside one of the members of BTS, J-Hope.
This morning, J-Hope of BTS announced that he’ll be releasing a new collab with J Cole this Friday titled, “On The Street.” Dreamville and J-Hope shared a trailer for the single online this morning, leading fans into hysteria. The trailer showcases Cole and J-Hope together (possibly in the UK) where they stare off-camera before a whistling melody strikes. Cole stans applauded him for expanding outside his usual comfort zone while the BTS Army united in celebration of another significant American collaboration. The single will drop this Friday, March 3rd.
J. Cole Collab Marks Full Circle Moment For BTS’s J-Hope
Though, to the average listener, this collab might seem like a random union of artists, “On The Street” will mark a full circle moment for J-Hope. Over the years, he’s expressed his appreciation for Cole in the past. On BTS’s 2014 record, “Hip-Hop Phile,” Hope pays homage to the Fayetteville native, along with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Ye, and Mac Miller. “Before I made my own world, Cole world/ Ever since he shone on Friday nights,” he rapped on the record.
Years later, BTS sampled the intro to J. Cole’s 2013 sophomore album, Born Sinner, for their single, “Born Singer,” which the rapper later cleared for streaming purposes last year. Hope finally had the opportunity to meet J. Cole at Lollapalooza last year, which presumably led to their collaboration for “On The Street.” Hope referred to Cole as his “muse” and expressed how much he loved Friday Night Lights, which appeared to shock the “MIDDLE CHILD” rapper. The BTS ARMY was clearly excited to see J-Hope land this collaboration after years of expressing his fandom. Check out a few reactions below.

The Ultimate Hip-Hop/K-Pop J Summit Is Coming As J. Cole And BTS’ J-Hope Announce A Collaboration
Worlds are about to collide: BTS’ J-Hope announced that he’s dropping the solo track “On The Street” tomorrow (March 3) and that appearing on the tune is J. Cole.
The Cole appearance is revealed in a new teaser video, which starts with a shot from behind J-Hope as he walks on a city roof. As he approaches the ledge, Cole comes into view and the two lean against the ledge together and look out over the city.
This collab is probably particularly exciting for J-Hope, as he’s long been a Cole fan. On BTS’ 2014 track “Hip Hop Lover,” J-Hope raps (translated to English via Genius), “Hope hope world / Before I made my own world, Cole world / Ever since he shone on Friday nights.” In 2018, he named his debut solo mixtape Hope World, similar to Cole’s 2011 debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story. Then, J-Hope got to meet Cole at Lollapalooza 2022 and a video of the encounter makes it clear how special the moment was for him.

J-Hope (whose real name is Jung Ho-seok) didn’t actually model his stage name after Cole like it may seem, though. Rather, the J-Hope name came about because he wants to be a source of hope for the BTS Army.
Music’s Biggest 2022 People’s Choice Awards Winners Include Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Lizzo, And BTS
The People’s Choice Awards went down yesterday (December 6) at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, and the evening’s winner should come as no surprise. Hosted by comedian Kenan Thompson, the biggest winner at this year’s annual fan-voted ceremony was singer Taylor Swift.
Despite being notably absent, the “Anti-Hero” singer claimed a whooping three awards, including the Female Artist Of 2022, the Music Video OF 2022, and the Album Of 2022, thanks to her devoted Swifties.
“About Damn Time” singer Lizzo won for Song Of The Year and was honored with the People’s Champion award. K-pop icons BTS won both the Group Of 2022 and the Concert Tour Of 2022. “Big Energy” rapper Latto won Best New Artist of 2022. Shockingly, Becky G beat out Bad Bunny for Latin Artist Of 2022. In contrast, Selena Gomez won the Comedy TV Star Of 2022 award (for her role in Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building) and the Social Celebrity Of 2022.
The evening also featured an exceptional performance by country legend Shania Twain, who was honored with the Music Icon Award. Twain, sporting a fierce hot pink bodysuit with contrasting bubblegum pink hair, sang a medley of her greatest hits. During the set, Twain gave a nod to actor Ryan Reynolds (honored with The People’s Icon Award) as she swapped out Brad Pitt’s name for his as she sang “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”

BTS’ RM Moves Through Imaginative Visuals In His Video For The Anderson .Paak Collab ‘Still Life’
BTS may be on hiatus, but that’s not stopping the highly-anticipated solo projects coming through. Over the summer, we got J-Hope and his EP Jack In The Box. In October, we got Jin and his hit single “The Astronaut,” co-written with Coldplay. Now, we have RM with his first full studio album Indigo.
As last Friday marked the album’s release, promotions for tracks on the solo project are well underway. After the release of the “Wild Flower” music video, the BTS leader unveils the video to Indigo‘s second track, the Anderson .Paak-featuring “Still Life.”
In his Tiny Desk Concert on NPR last Friday, RM revealed the inspiration behind the track was based on a trip to a museum and coming across a painting of the same name.
“When I see ‘Still Life,’ like the canvas,” RM said on the series. “My life is like a canvas. I’m exhibiting my life to the whole world, everywhere.”
Throughout the music video RM moves and grooves through various still scenes. At one point, he’s stuck in time inside of a train and the other he’s in a blank space moving graphics with his magic hands.
The concept of “Still Life” follows the overall theme of Indigo, where the album acts as an art exhibit curated by RM.

Snoop Dogg Is Now One Of Only Three Artists With A Top-Ten Hit In Each Of The Past Four Decades
Snoop Dogg is a well-established hitmaker but lest we lose sight of just how impressive his career achievements have been, he’s just accumulated another. As of the most recently published Billboard charts, he’s now one of just three artists in history to have a top-10 hit in each of the past four decades. That’s right: The Doggfather has reached the top ten in the ’90s, ’00s, ’10s, and now, the ’20s thanks to his new collaboration with Benny Blanco and BTS, “Bad Decisions.” The only other two artists who can boast as much are Jay-Z and Mariah Carey.
.@SnoopDogg joins @MariahCarey and Jay-Z as the only artists to earn top 10 hits on the #Hot100 in each of the past four decades: ’90s, ’00s, ’10s and ’20s.
— billboard charts (@billboardcharts) August 15, 2022
Snoop’s top ten hits of the ’90s include “What’s My Name?” and “Gin And Juice” from his 1993 debut album Doggystyle. In the 2000s, his songs “Beautiful,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and “Sensual Seduction” all hit the top ten, with the second reaching No. 1. Finally, 2011 saw Snoop’s Wiz Khalifa collaboration “Young, Wild & Free” reach No. 7 on the Hot 100. Additionally, he’s popped up in the top ten as a featured artist on eight songs throughout the years, including Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang,” Chingy’s “Holidae In,” 50 Cent’s “P.I.M.P.,” The Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons,” Akon’s “I Wanna Love You,” Katy Perry’s “California Gurls,” and Jason Derulo’s “Wiggle.”
What makes Snoop’s achievement even more impressive is that he’s done all this while diversifying his interests. He’s become a pop culture mainstay outside of music as well, with investments in cryptocurrency and NFTS, roles in Hollywood movies and video games, and even his own breakfast cereal and hot dogs.

Back in March, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper shared details about the BTS collaboration. “The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s a vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we ended up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together,” Snoop revealed.
“Bad Decision” is the first single off Blanco’s upcoming third album and features the legendary west coast rapper alongside BTS vocalists Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The song is scheduled to drop August 5.
