NYPD Search for Brooklyn Man Who Smashed Restaurant Door and Stabbed Ex-Girlfriend
A man in Brooklyn launched a chair through the glass door of a restaurant, then stabbed his ex-girlfriend before fleeing the scene.
According to The New York Daily News, the man is currently being searched for by the NYPD.
The man has been identified as Rakien Figueroa, who threw the chair through the CAVA restaurant in downtown Brooklyn. The event happened at 7:50 a.m., and the restaurant was not yet open.
Figueroa reportedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend multiple times before fleeing the scene. The woman was transferred to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Brooklyn Bishop Robbed By Gunmen During Livestream Sunday Service
Police are hunting for suspects after a Brooklyn bishop was robbed by masked gunmen during a Sunday service that was being live streamed.
The shameless gunman burst into the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie, Sunday morning while Bishop Lamor Whitehead was in mid sermon.
A video released online shows three armed men in dark clothes and hoods interrupt the service as Whitehead is seen lying face down on the pulpit.
The Bishop says the men targeted him and his wife, taking âhundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.â

Allegedly the thieves knew Bishop Whitehead was wearing high value items consisting of, gold chains, cross pendants, sleeve cuffs and a large rings.
They were able to steal approximately $400,000 worth of jewels from the Bishop, his wife and some church goers.
Whitehead most recently ran for Brooklyn Borough President and lost to Antonio Reynoso. He also made news in May trying to negotiate the surrender of an accused subway shooter but authorities separately captured the suspect.

âLaw & Order: Organized Crimeâ Crew Member Killed on Set in Brooklyn
A crew member for NBCâs Law & Order: Organized Crime series was shot and killed in New York. According to Variety, the crew member was on location for the filming of the forthcoming third season when he was killed while sitting in his car.
NYPD notes the 31-year-old crew member was sitting in his car at 5:15 am ET in Brooklynâs Greenpoint neighborhood when the shooter opened his car door and opened fire. The victim was employed by a private company that was under contract with the show. The crew member was present as set security and parking enforcement.
âWe were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result,â NBC and studio Universal Television said in a joint statement. âWe are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time.â
