Bronny James Cleared To Play For USC After Cardiac Arrest

Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, has overcome a significant health setback as he has recently obtained medical clearance to resume playing basketball. After rigorous medical evaluation and rehabilitation, the University of Southern California (USC) officially gave Bronny the green light to return to basketball activities.

Back In Business

Bronny James has received medical clearance to return to basketball following a severe health scare.

In July 2023, the USC basketball player suffered from a cardiac arrest, putting his basketball future in jeopardy. However, after undergoing months of medical evaluation and rehabilitation, Bronny has been officially cleared by USC to resume basketball activities.

‘Fight On!’

The announcement came on Nov. 30, when the James family shared a statement expressing their gratitude for their support during Bronny’s recovery. The statement read:

“Bronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball.” Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support. Fight On!”

Bronny had already made a symbolic return to the court when he joined his teammates in warm-up before USC’s game against Brown on Nov. 19. His return to competitive play is highly anticipated, especially by his father.

‘Family Over Everything’

In a post-game interview on Nov. 30, LeBron expressed his desire to witness Bronny’s debut for USC, even if it means missing a game with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I definitely gotta see Bronny’s first college game whenever he’s cleared and ready to go,” LeBron said.

However, the scheduling may pose a challenge, as the Lakers are slated to participate in the NBA In-Season Tournament around the same time. While USC has not confirmed the date of Bronny’s debut, it is expected to be at the earliest on December 10 against Long Beach State

Just two days prior, on July 25, the James family spokesperson had announced that Bronny James, LeBron’s son, had experienced a sudden cardiac arrest while practicing on the court at the University of Southern California. The incident occurred as the young basketball talent was preparing to embark on his freshman year at USC in the fall.

LeBron took to his social media accounts to extend his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who had sent their love and prayers to his family. In a single tweet, the NBA legend said, “I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I’m so grateful.”

The update continued with LeBron stating, “Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us!”

Two days later, on July 27, Shams Charnia, a trusted and reliable NBA source, shared a significant medical update on Bronny James. Charnia tweeted, “USC’s Bronny James has been discharged from the hospital and is home resting after being treated for sudden cardiac arrest at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he arrived fully conscious, neurologically intact, and stable.”

Merije Chukumerije, the consulting cardiologist for Bronny, also expressed gratitude towards the USC medical staff for their swift response to the young athlete’s collapse.

Charnia later reflected on the remarkable pace of Bronny’s discharge, stating, “Exact timing of when Bronny James was discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: late Tuesday night, per family spokesman. So less than 48 hours were spent in the hospital. Remarkable.”

While the James family has not provided further updates, their resilience and hope for Bronny’s full recovery are evident. Throughout this difficult period, they have remained active and strong, exemplifying their unwavering support for one another.

Amidst the challenging circumstances, LeBron James has been seen back in the gym, preparing diligently for the upcoming NBA season. Meanwhile, Bryce, LeBron’s youngest son, shared a touching picture on social media, showing his support for his brother on the day following the incident.

Bronny Dances At USC

However, Bronny has made sure to remain around the team as the season got underway. Bronny made an appearance at the annual Trojan HoopLA but did not participate in the athletic festivities. The event is used to introduce the school’s team for the season and have the athletes put on some displays of skill. James was all smiles as he was introducing, hitting some sweet moves to “Teach Me How To Dougie” by Cali Swag District. However, that was the extent of James’ evening as he sat out the skills competition, dunk contest, and 3-point competition.

As for the cardiac arrest that derailed the start of his college career, experts diagnosed it as a congenital heart defect. Bronny has reportedly undergone surgery to address the issue, which will need to be monitored for the rest of his life but is no longer a major concern. However, he is the second USC player in two years to suffer a preseason cardiac arrest.

“Things are going in the right direction with Bronny’s progress,” LeBron said. “He’s doing rehab. Every week he gets to do more and more and more. We have a big moment at the end of this month to see if we can continue to go forward. Bronny James Messaged SteveWillDoIt’s Girlfriend, Streamer Claims

Controversial streamer SteveWillDoIt has claimed that Bronny James messaged his girlfriend, Celina Smith. “I would be so upset if my girl f-cked Bron Jr, I would be so upset,” Steve said in a recent livestream with Adin Ross and others. “I would be so upset if she f-cked Bron Jr.. And I say this because Bron Jr. messaged my girl. Yeah, he messaged my girl. So I would be so upset if she f-cked Bron Jr. bro”. However, Steve did not specify what was in the messages that Bronny reportedly sent.

Steve and Celina have been an on-and-off item for many years. However, after a long period apart, Steve reintroduced them as a couple at the end of last month. Smith is a popular Instagram model and OnlyFans creator. Having met in high school, they reportedly broke up earlier this year following rumors that Smith had cheated on Steve with a photographer. SteveWillDoIt Claims 6ix9ine Scammed Rumble

However, this is just the most recent big claim that Steve has made in recent months. Last month, Steve went off on his former friend 6ix9ine. Steve claimed that he secured 6ix9ine a lucrative deal with video platform Rumble to “play video games once a week for an hour” and that the company was willing to pay $2 million upfront for that. However, Steve claims that 6ix9ine never fulfilled that contract, spent the $2 million on gifts for “black chicks” to “make his ex jealous” and that Steve was left with the $2 million debt.

Furthermore, Steve also claimed that 6ix9ine fakes his giveaway videos. “Whenever he does those videos where he gives away money, that isn’t his money. When you see him giving his mom a new car, he’s essentially buying himself a new car because he’s not a nice person,” Steve said. 6ix9ine, who was once a close friend of Steve’s, has not responded to these allegations.

LeBron James’ Family Trolls Him With Perfect Impressions: Watch

LeBron James’ family went all-in on the NBA star, showing off some impressive impressions of him during the shooting of a recent Beats commercial. Bronny’s was by far the most honed, getting down his father’s voice perfectly. Acting like he was at an interview, Bronny nailed his father’s slightly distant tone and ridiculous work-first mentality. Meanwhile, Bryce did a pretty great job of copying his father’s classic big stretch and loud yawn. However, it wasn’t just limited to his sons. His wife Savannah showed off her interpretation of LeBron’s on-court backpedaling. Meanwhile, Zhuri honed her take on her father’s on-court mannerisms.

The video comes as the James family starred in a commercial alongside Manchester City star Erling Haaland. The crux of the ad is the families of LeBron and Haaland leaving voicemails for the sports stars. Of particular note is what Savannah says in her message to her husband. “Tell them you’re not done until you play with your son. And then do that again,” Savannah said, implying almost another half-decade in the NBA for LeBron. That would be the case in order to play with Bronny (2024 Draft Class) and Bryce (2026 Draft Class).

LeBron Leads Comeback Victory

However, he may be 21 years into his NBA career but that doesn’t seem to be slowing LeBron down. LeBron blew past his 30-minute playing time guideline as he put on a masterclass to save the Lakers from a 0-2 start to the season. James played the entire fourth quarter against the Suns, when his minutes limit suggested he should only play about half the frame. In that time, LeBron scored 10 points, helping eliminate a 12-point Suns lead and pushing the Lakers to a 100-95 victory.

“He [head coach Darvin Ham] asked me if I could go the quarter, and I looked at the time and the score and what was going on in the game, and it was an easy answer for myself. I know how much work I’ve put in to be able to play quarters or whatever the case may be. And I understand that we definitely have a system put in place, but tonight called for me to go outside the box.”” LeBron said after the game. The veteran star, now two games into his 21st season, finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. Anthony Davis, who was roasted for his performance against Denver in the season opener, had a 30-point double-double against Phoenix.

Bronny James Dances At USC Event But Sits Out Athletic Contests

James is expected to see the floor this season for USC. However, it’s unclear as to when he will begin play as he continues to recover from a cardiac arrest suffered in July. The medical scare was attributed to a congenital heart condition that was discovered after James underwent extensive testing. He is the second USC player in two years to suffer a preseason cardiac arrest.

Bronny Still Tops NIL Earnings Despite Cardiac Arrest

However, not even a cardiac arrest can stop Bronny making bank. Sports Illustrated‘s annual Money Issue released last month showed that Bronny tops the list of NIL earners at the college level. According to On3, Bronny James is earning $6.1 million and Shedeur Sanders is earning $4.1 million. Rounding out the top five are LSU’s Livvy Dunne ($3.2M), Texas’ Arch Manning ($2.9M), and USC’s Caleb Williams ($2.6M). Only one other woman appears in the top ten. LSU’s Angel Reese sits at eighth in the current rankings.

However, NIL earners, especially female athletes, still receive criticism. There are many people, several in positions of power, who don’t believe that athletes should receive any compensation before the pro level of their respective sport. Livvy Dunne recently spoke out on this exact issue. “People definitely discredit what I do. People need to understand that I’ve worked for everything I’ve earned. I’ve spent years building an audience, and brands pay me for what they believe is worth the reach of the demographic that I offer,” Dunne said in an interview earlier this year.
