Brent Faiyaz is currently on his F*CK The World It’s A Wasteland tour that began back on July 16 in Washington D.C. The tour is celebrating his two latest album releases F*** The World and WASTELAND, which came out in 2020 and 2022. The latter is the most ambitious project Faiyaz has put forth so far and many continue to enjoy it a year later. Because of that success and his world tour the R&B singer has maybe felt little need to unleash new material.
However, Faiyaz has still been dropping a single here and there throughout 2023. “ALL MINE,” one of the more popular tracks on WASTELAND, got a Jersey club remix near the turn of the new year. Following that, he and EDM producer Marshmello teamed up for “Fell In Love.” Then, maybe his best single of the year, “Moment Of Your Life” featuring Coco Jones, was put out back in late August. The two were a great duo, and hopefully, more songs from them come down the line. Now, this brings us to “WY@,” a new track about Faiyaz’s entanglement that is not good for him.
But, he cannot seem to release himself from the clutches of this vixen. The song also includes some vocals from a Latina singer who sings some very sexually charged passages. “I’m waiting for you with my legs open and my heart open, / I can still taste you in my mouth, / No one can make me shake like you.” Brent loves going back to this woman for what she provides but deep down he knows it is changing him for the worst. It is another solid offering from him, and if you want to check it out, click the video link above.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand new single, “WY@,” from Brent Faiyaz? Is this his best song put out this year? Do you need a new album from him, or could you wait? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Quotable Lyrics:
Even I know you bring no good for me But you feel so good to me Every time I come back I try to leave So how you end up back with me? Oh (I don’t know) This ain’t what I want, this is something else
Brent Faiyaz has one of the most distinctive voices in the R&B space. His vocal range usually sits in a lower register, allowing for his signature sensual sound to stand out and set you in that certain vibe that is undefeated. He has done it on so many tracks like “Been Away,” “ALL MINE,” and “DEAD MAN WALKING.” Now, he will have another one to add to his stacked catalog. His new single with Coco Jones is a sexy cut with glorious singing and suggestive lyrics.
Unfortunately, this is the only collaboration we have with the former Disney Channel star and master crooner. The song is all about providing a one-of-a-kind experience in the bedroom for your partner and wanting to let the rest of the competition know about it. This theme is brought up a lot, especially in R&B music, but this cut is so well done. It runs just over three minutes but Brent Faiyaz and Coco Jones fill out the time perfectly.
Faiyaz sings about the amazing moment he shares with his woman from his perspective. He wants to tell all the other women that it was so good and that is how it should be when they come through next time. From Coco’s side, she is portraying the woman Brent is with for the night. She wants to show it all off for him and how she can be promiscuous even though she might seem like a goody-two-shoes. After listening to this, you will want a collab album from these two right away.
What are your initial thoughts on this new track, “Moment Of Your Life,” by Brent Faiyaz and Coco Jones? Do you think these two should collaborate more often? Who had the best part of this song? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all the hottest song releases and all of the breaking news around the music world.
Quotable Lyrics:
Boy you look greater than you ever did
I show you my secrets can you handle it?
I don't wanna hide
Always been a good girl but I gotta bad side
Can I show you baby Ima guarantee you won't forget
“The clip channels the aesthetic and spirit of the 1997 Quentin Tarantino classic flick of the same name, as it opens with Brent on a plane,” a press release says of the striking Lonewolf- and Mark Peaced-directed visual. “After cruising through the clouds, he visits the salon, hits the high seas on a yacht, tries on tailored fits, and enjoys a dinner surrounded by friends. These vibrant vignettes melt into one another, matching his smooth cadence.”
The “Jackie Brown” video shows off Faiyaz’s never-ending imagination, which is fitting because he also launched his ISO Supremacy (In Search Of Supremacy) creative agency in partnership with UnitedMasters on Wednesday. A press release describes ISO Supremacy as having “the sole mission of executing visual and sonic art.”
In May, Billboard exclusively reported Faiyaz’s partnership with UnitedMasters with the intention “to form a new creative agency as a hub for his upcoming endeavors.” The publication relayed the deal’s valuation was “close to $50 million,” citing an unnamed source “close to the situation.”

Broccoli City Festival returned in 2023 with plays to take over a summer weekend, a change from its usual spring presence. The showcase, which was known to open its doors in May, opted to push things back to July this time around. Rumor has it that this change was done with the hopes of avoiding any rain delays that the spring season might have to offer. Unfortunately, Mother Nature proved to be the superior force as the weather played a role on both days of the festival this year.
This year’s showcase was headlined by Lil Uzi Vert, Jazmine Sullivan, and Brent Faiyaz, artists, who in recent years, have reached new heights in their careers. Behind them were slated performances from Asake, Rema, Chlöe, Coco Jones, Kodak Black, Mariah The Scientist, Ice Spice, City Girls, Keke Palmer, Saucy Santana, GloRilla, Lola Brooke, and more – and that was just the main stage. A smaller stage housed performances from Foggieraw, Ryan Trey, OG Bobby Billions, LaRussell, and others. Add in activations for some fun throughout the festival and food options throughout the outskirts of Washington D.C.’s RFK Stadium, and you have all the ingredients to put on a successful showcase.
So now that the weekend is over, let’s take a look back at the highs and lows of the 2023 Broccoli City Festival.
HIGH: Afrobeats
On the performance side of things, afrobeats was the winner at this year’s Broccoli City Festival. The genre was only presented by two artists for the weekend, Rema and Asake, but they put on a show to remember through their sets. On day one was Rema who arrived to perform highlights from his discography like “Holiday,” “Charm,” “Soundgasm,” “Dumebi,” “Bounce,” and of course, the record-breaking “Calm Down.” Rema was nothing short of charismatic and energetic on the Broccoli Stage as he consistently flashed a smile to the crowd while showing off his slick dance as his live band ripped through the instrumentals of his song. If you need to be convinced to go to a Rema show, his Broccoli City Festival set made a very convincing argument.
On day two, the afrobeats energy was brought forth by Asake who made interactions with the crowd a priority during his. He spent nearly half of his set by the front row barricade and in the open space that divided the VIP and general admission sections. There was even a point where he entered the general admission crowd from the back and worked his way to the front through them, which provided an up close and personal experience for his biggest fans. Asake pierced through beloved records like “Terminator,” “Sungba,” and “Joha,” before debuting records from his new album Work Of Art.
Rema and Asake went above and beyond to put on a show in their respective sets, and it’s for that reason that afrobeats gets the crown as the winner of this year’s Broccoli City Festival.
LOW: Logistics
This year’s Broccoli City Festival had some logistical flaws throughout the weekend that affected the overall experience of the weekend. First, fans who had to pick up their wristbands through will call at the festival were subjected to a wait that lasted over an hour in many cases. Broccoli City officials did apologize for the wait and promised changes for day two. Things at the entry point did seem to run smoother on day two, but then again, most attendees already had their wristbands by that point.
Some other issues included an insufficient amount of water cooling and fan stations throughout the festivals. Both days experienced temperatures into the 90s, but the cooling and fan stations were few in number. Though, the main stage security team made sure to supply water to the crowd which hopefully helped a bit.
HIGH: Day Two
Day two of Broccoli City Festival was by far the best day of this year’s showcase. The performers were on point from start to finish. There was the previously-mentioned stellar performance from Asake and there was Coco Jones who earned herself a viral moment by performing “Rain On Me” as raindrops poured from the sky. Kodak Black and GloRilla satisfied hip-hop lovers with their performances and OG Bobby Billions and Ryan Trey impressed with their sets at the smaller City Stage. Things moved smoother on a logistical end as fans were able to get into the festival without issue, and unlike day two, the weather cooperated to allow for the festival to go through from start to finish without interruption. As the saying goes, it’s not how you start but how you finish.
LOW: Heat & Humidity
This isn’t much to blame on Broccoli City Festival itself, but my goodness the heat and humidity was serious on both days of the festival. A towel at least was needed, but attendees who brought personal fans (especially the ones with water mist), were in the best position to defend themselves. The sun relentlessly beaming above us and the humidity standing beside made it a bit difficult to enjoy what the festival had to offer. Frequent water breaks were needed as were any and all things to stay cool and hydrated. The plus side here was with the festival getting underway at 2 p.m. each day, a bit later than other festivals, there were fewer hours of peak sunlight to endure before the sun, along with the heat and humidity, made its way out of our presence for the day.
HIGH: Brent Faiyaz, The Hometown Hero
I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with Brent Faiyaz’s set to close the festival weekend. The singer, who along with Broccoli City calls the DMV home, stepped out to use the weekend showcase as the kickoff moment for his F*ck The World, It’s A Wasteland Tour. For the most part, Brent stuck to records from F*ck The World and Wasteland, though he did reach back into his discography for older and more one-off releases. From start to finish, Brent’s vocals were fully present for his performance and they were rarely drowned out by a backing track. He also opted for a live band that only amplified the experience that had its tone and mood set by onstage visuals that fit perfectly with the theme of Wasteland. Brent didn’t keep this moment to himself either, he made sure to share the stage with fellow DMV artists Joony and Tre’Armani as they joined him for performances of “FYTB” and “Addictions.” If Broccoli City was a dress rehearsal for Brent’s F*ck The World, It’s A Wasteland Tour, then I suggest you do what you can to get tickets.
LOW: Small Stage
The main action at Broccoli City Festival year took place at the Broccoli Stage. All the big names brought their best through performances there, but there were still a number of acts worth paying attention to at the City Stage, the festival’s smaller stage. Foggieraw was there to perform his beloved track “Pslam 62” while Ryan Trey performed fan favorites and even brought out Mariah The Scientist! Other names like OG Bobby Billions delivered solid sets as TiaCorine and Lola Brooke also highlighted performances at this stage. With all that being said, the City Stage could have had a better set up for these performances. It wasn’t the most inviting display, which would’ve been a nice quality to reel in fans to discover a new artist. The canopy that sat over the stage and audience space was certainly clutch for the rain, but more could’ve been added to the experience to make it more presentable.
Final Thought:
Broccoli City Festival was a hectic weekend, but in the end, it was a satisfying showcase. Strong performances from Asake, Rema, Ice Spice, Brent Faiyaz, Chloe Bailey, Coco Jones, and others made it all worthwhile — especially when the dastardly sun set for the day or was at least covered by clouds. Some improvements are definitely in store for the next edition of the festival, but the highs and lows of Broccoli City shouldn’t deter you from checking out their next showcase, especially if the necessary changes are made.

Brent Faiyaz remains one of the most iconic artists in the R&B space. Pioneering a psychedelic sound that blended the worlds of somber instrumentation and electronic synth-wave tropes, he’s carved out a unique sound. His music career began in the early 2010s when he formed the group Sonder alongside producers Dpat and Atu. By 2017, the group had released their debut EP Into. However, Faiyaz continued to develop his solo career as the group took off. He released his debut solo album, Sonder Son, in the same year. However, a hallmark reason for Brent Faiyaz’s worldwide success is his innate ability to garner collaborations with other successful artists.
“Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance” (2021)
The tenth song off of Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost, “Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance,” didn’t come together quickly. In fact, Tyler has referenced collaborating on the song during the creation of Igor. On “Sweet,” Brent Faiyaz takes the vocal spotlight amidst shimmering synths and lo-fi drums. It was a big moment for Faiyaz, landing a feature on one of the biggest rap albums of 2021. The ten-minute track is approaching 200 million streams on Spotify and is widely held as one of Tyler, the Creator’s best songs to date.
“Gravity” (2020)
“Gravity” was the first of Brent Faiyaz’s collabs with Tyler, the Creator. Released in March of 2020, “Gravity” is a springtime jam through and through. He spoke about the process of working with Tyler in an interview with Spin. He stated, “I was working on (Gravity) with DJ Dahi, and I was like, ‘Man, what could really set this shit over the edge?’ So I hit him up, and he put a verse on it. He’s wild as s**t, but he’s a genius.” The song has garnered over 200 million streams on Spotify alone. It’s unique in Faiyaz’s discography, as its instrumentation is more colorful than the darker aesthetic of much of his work as a part of Sonder.
“Crew” (2017)
One of Brent Faiyaz’s most successful collabs has been with Goldlink on “Crew.” The 2017 groove was Faiyaz’s career-defining hit. Featuring a high-octane snare and an additional feature from Shy Glizzy, Faiyaz drives the ear-hook chorus throughout the track. Along with being Brent Faiyaz’s biggest song he’s featured on, it’s by far Goldlink’s most successful song to date, eclipsing a billion plays across all platforms. The track’s subtle darkness perfectly complements much of the sound of Sonder, making Faiyaz a perfect fit on the track.
“Wasting Time” (2022)
If Brent Faiyaz wasn’t yet an A-list artist in the music industry, he certainly became one with “Wasting Time.” Collaborating with two heavy hitters in Drake and The Neptunes, the track’s narrative surrounds a struggling relationship between Brent Faiyaz and a lover. Drake darts between a rap verse and contributing vocals on “Wasting Time,” highlighting his vast array of talents as an MC. Of course, the song’s production is heavily influenced by The Neptunes. Featuring lush synths and a booming 808, the track would eclipse the top-50 mark on the Billboard 100 charts. The track is another reason Wasteland solidified Brent Faiyaz’s position toward the top of the R&B world.
“Addictions” (2022)
Brent Faiyaz has touched on addiction throughout his career. From drugs to woman to fame, it’s a double-sided coin he’s discussed since his debut album, Sonder Son. On “Addictions,” Faiyaz collaborates with MC Tre’ Amani on one of the more introspective tracks off of Wasteland. Brutally honest with himself, Faiyaz states, “Maybe I don’t need a hug / maybe I’m just f**ked up.” The two complement each other seamlessly, with Amani’s rapid flow contrasting the leisured chorus of Faiyaz. “Addictions” has brought in over 40 million streams on Spotify.
“Fell In Love” (2023)
Around a year after the release of Wasteland, Brent Faiyaz returned with a new track. “Fell In Love” is likely the most unexpected collaboration on this list, with EDM artist Marshmello on production chops for the song. While the track’s heavy 808s and snare hits resemble a pop track, it contains subtle elements of electronic music with heavy usage of synths. Thus far, the straightforward summer groove has received a mixed reception from Faiyaz fans. However, the track’s release is meant to generate hype as he gears up for his summer tour of Wasteland.
“Feel A Way” (2020)
Believe it or not, 2 Chainz, Kanye West, and Brent Faiyaz have collaborated. The sixth track off of 2 Chainz’s’ So Help Me God!, “Feel A Way” features production chops from Mike Dean. Faiyaz provides a trademark chorus on “Feel a Way,” with the song featuring more of a traditional rap structure. One of the more successful tracks off of the album, a collaboration with two iconic rappers solidified Faiyaz’s status in the music industry.
It would be an understatement to say that Brent Faiyaz has been busy. The dude has been working overtime. From announcing a new world tour for his sophomore album Wasteland to partnering with Steve Stout and creating a creative agency that acts as a hub for all his independent work, Brent’s got his foot on the gas. Not only that, today, anonymous DJ/producer Marshmello tapped Brent Faiyaz for a new single. It’s been the first taste of music from the toxic R&B star since dropping his album.
However, Brent’s not done just yet. As if he didn’t have enough momentum, the F*ck The World artist dropped another Chopped Not Slopped rendition of his new album. Wow, a new single, and a chopped n’ screwed version of Wasteland, Brent Faiyaz is kicking things off with a bang for his tour. This is the second time that Faiyaz has collaborated with DJ Candlestick who has an affinity for the Houston chopped n’ screwed style. Candlestick added his personal touch to the R&B star’s new album and his 2020 tape F*ck The World.
Brent Faiyaz Drops “Wasteland” Chopped n’ Screwed Version
Regardless, both tapes are phenomenal, Brent Faiyaz and DJ Candlestick created something dope with these two albums. Not only that the “ChopNotSlop” remixes are all incredibly unique yet familiar. DJ Candlestick does an amazing job setting a scene of a completely comatose feeling throughout each song. It’s as if he poured cough syrup all over the album. However, Brent’s songs still sound as good as the originals, with just a little bit of Houston flavor added.
It’s no surprise when Brent Faiyaz dropped the news that he was hitting the road, fans went into a frenzy. Tickets go on sale today, hopefully, they haven’t already sold out. The first leg of the tour kicks off in July, just in time for the summer, and ends in the fall in Europe. Moreover, with the new single out, along with the release of his remixed sophomore album, Brent’s gonna have a good chunk of music to pick from for the tour. Let us know if you’ve given the album a listen. Have you peeped the new single? Drop a comment below!
Brent Faiyaz has been a very busy man these last few days. From a highly acclaimed album last year with Wasteland paired with a world tour (tickets on sale today) he’s been putting in work. Not only that, Faiyaz has an amazing catalog prior to his new album dropping (mans don’t miss). Since the release of Wasteland, Brent Faiyaz has kept a low profile yet he’s still making waves. Recently, he announced a tour and just days later news surfaced that the R&B star has partnered with Steve Stout’s UnitedMasters.
The partnership will allow Faiyaz to do all of his independent work creating a new creative agency. Additionally, the creative agency will work as a hub for the F*ck The World artist. Not only that, the deal is valued at $50 million. Even Steve Stout said, “Brent Faiyaz is one of the most prolific Independent artists today and we are extremely excited to embark on this new partnership with him.” Although we don’t have an official statement from Brent, it’s clear that the two have come to a healthy agreement regarding the deal.
Brent Faiyaz & Marshmello Drop Some New Heat
Following all the moves he’s recently made, Brent Faiyaz has also put out some new music. Anonymous DJ/producer Marshmello tapped the emerging king of toxic R&B for a new single, “Fell In Love.” Additionally, on the track, Faiyaz croons about a lover that loves the idea of him rather than his true self. It’s a very bouncy track that will have you reminiscing about late ’90s early ’00s R&B. Not only that, this is the first taste of new music from Brent Faiyaz since dropping his sophomore project.
Furthermore, the single is short and sweet, rounding off at two minutes. However, the song is so infectious that you’ll be playing it over and over. It’s got great replay value. Won’t be long ’til we see the summer jam on multiple Tik Toks and reels. Interestingly, this track is released just days before Brent inks his creative agency partnership with UnitedMasters and announces new tour. It’s possible this could’ve been something cooked up from the creative hub. Are you ready for some new music from Brent Faiyaz? Are you feelin’ the new track from him and Marshmello? Let us know in the comments!
Quotable Lyrics:
You ain’t fall in love with me Fell in love with the man I could be You ain’t fall in love with me Fell in love with your vision of me
