Beyoncé Is Back On Stage

However, in the tweet directly above some of this text, you can see that the book also contains what appears to be a setlist. Although, there are some theories about this setlist and whether or not it is actually legitimate. The original poster wrote “Beyoncé put a fake setlist in the tour book. this girl knows her fans.” Subsequently, another user brought up that this could be an early draft. This would suggest the setlist is not actually fake, after all. At this point, however, it is clear that no one actually knows.

No matter what, it is very clear to everyone that Beyoncé is going to put on an amazing show, no matter what. She is an amazing performer, and that has never changed over the years. Although some people want to ruin the setlist surprise, perhaps this really is a diversion. Let us know if you will be attending the “Renaissance” tour, in the comments section below. Does Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance Tour’ In Europe Have An Opening Act?

Today (May 10), Beyoncé‘s highly anticipated Renaissance World Tour kicks off in Stockholm, Sweden. Since announcing the tour back in February, the Beyhive has been abuzz, anxious for details about the tour.

At this time, not a whole lot is known about the tour, or the visual elements, as Bey is known for remaining tight-lipped. Even hours before the show is set to kick off, fans aren’t even sure about an opener for the Renaissance World Tour.

Does Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in Europe have an opening act?

Before the Renaissance World Tour was officially announced, several acts were rumored to be on the shortlist to be considered openers for Queen Bey.

Rapper Bree Runway was among those who was reportedly being considered, as well as R&B girl group, FLO. Fans also spectated that Chlöe may also open for Beyoncé, as her solo debut album, In Pieces was announced around the same time.

However, at the time of writing, no official opening acts have been reported. However, the Beyhive knows the Queen loves delivering a good surprise. As Bey is known to drop surprise albums, surprised remixes, and surprise visuals, it’s not unlikely that she would include an opening act in her show without prior announcement.

Beyoncé Fans Are Buzzing About A Supposed ‘Renaissance Tour’ Setlist Included In Her Tour Book

Tonight (May 10) is the first night of Beyoncé‘s Renaissance World Tour, which kicks off in Stockholm, Sweden. While the Beyhive has been buzzing with anticipation, not much is known about the tour, the setlist, or the visual elements, and we’ve been anxious for a taste of what to expect.

It appears some fans have gotten their hands on an early copy of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour book. Several fans have taken to social media to share images from the book, which includes corresponding artwork for each of the Renaissance album’s songs.

Additionally, an alleged copy of the setlist also appears in the tour book, though some fans believe this setlist isn’t what it seems to be. Some fans have theorized that the alleged setlist is fake, to keep the actual setlist from leaking.

“Beyoncé put a fake setlist in the tour book,” said one member of the Beyhive on Twitter. “this girl knows her fans.”

The setlist contains notes in pen, as well as other markings, so some fans don’t believe that it’s fake, but rather an early iteration.

“This looks like an early draft, but not necessarily ‘fake,’” said another fan.

If the setlist is real, it looks like fans can look forward to hearing much of the Renaissance fan favorites, including “Break My Soul,” “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar,” and more. Some of her other hits, including “Diva,” “Run The World (Girls),” and “Savage (Remix)” with Megan Thee Stallion also seem to be on the alleged set list.

You can see images of the alleged tour book above.

“Carmen: A Hip Hopera” Turns 22: A Look Back

Twenty-two years ago, a groundbreaking musical film hit the airwaves, merging the worlds of Hip Hop and opera in a way that had never been done before. Carmen: A Hip Hopera, starring Beyoncé Knowles and Mekhi Phifer, reimagined Bizet’s classic opera Carmen through a contemporary lens. As we celebrate the film’s 22nd anniversary, let’s look at how this Hip Hop opera came to be and its impact on pop culture.

The Birth Of A Hip Hop Opera

The concept of a Hip Hop opera was ambitious from the start. MTV Films and New Line Cinema teamed up to create this modern adaptation, with Robert Townsend taking the reins as director. The screenplay, penned by Michael Elliot, transformed the story of Carmen, a femme fatale in 19th-century Spain, into a tale of love and betrayal set in Philadelphia. Casting Beyoncé, a rising star at the time, as Carmen and Mekhi Phifer as her love interest, police officer Derek Hill, was a masterstroke. Their on-screen chemistry and powerful performances also brought the characters to life, giving this Hip Hopera a depth that resonated with audiences.

A New Musical Language

Carmen: A Hip Hopera also blended traditional opera with Hip Hop music, creating a unique fusion that captivated viewers. The film’s score, composed by Kip Collins and featuring original songs by Beyoncé and other artists, seamlessly integrated rap and R&B elements into the operatic framework. The memorable soundtrack included hits like “Cards Never Lie” and “The Last Great Seduction,” showcasing Beyoncé’s vocal prowess and ability to deliver rap verses with equal ease. This innovative approach to the musical score further ensured that Carmen: A Hip Hopera stood out from other adaptations of Bizet’s classic work.

The Cultural Impact

Carmen: A Hip Hopera‘s success extended far beyond its initial release on MTV in 2001. The film was a precursor to the mainstream acceptance of Hip Hop as a versatile art form, paving the way for other genre-crossing projects like Hamilton and The Hip Hop Project. The film’s influence can also be seen in the rise of Beyoncé, who became one of the most iconic artists in history. Her role in Carmen: A Hip Hopera further showcased her versatility as a performer, and the film’s success helped solidify her status as a leading figure in pop culture.

The film also helped break down barriers for Black artists in both the Hip Hop and opera worlds. The movie allowed future Black musicians, composers, and performers to explore new artistic avenues by fusing these two genres. Further, they challenge preconceived notions about their place in the world of classical music.

The Legacy of Carmen: A Hip Hopera

Two decades after its release, Carmen: A Hip Hopera remains a testament to the power of creativity and collaboration. The film’s enduring appeal also stems from its innovative approach to storytelling, its unforgettable music, and the star power of its leading actors. It also serves as a reminder that blending different art forms can result in something extraordinary. Carmen pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the world of entertainment.

The movie also featured an incredible ensemble cast with successful film and music careers. Alongside Beyoncé and Mekhi Phifer, the film featured Mos Def as Lieutenant Miller, Rah Digga as Rasheeda, Wyclef Jean as Fortune Teller, and even a cameo from legendary rapper Da Brat. Moreover, the success of Carmen: A Hip Hopera permitted entertainers to flex their talents and show more of what they could offer.

Inspiring a New Generation of Artists

Additionally, as a trailblazing film that broke boundaries, Carmen has inspired a new generation of artists to push the envelope. From Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton to Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, the influence of Carmen: A Hip Hopera can be seen in how these works incorporate modern music and techniques into historical narratives. The film’s bold approach to adaptation continues to inspire artists to challenge the status quo and to also think outside the box regarding their own projects.

Celebrating 22 Years

As we look back on the 22-year journey of Carmen: A Hip Hopera, it’s important to recognize the impact it has had on the worlds of film, music, and pop culture. This Hip Hop opera has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, inspiring countless artists to push the boundaries of their craft and explore new creative avenues. Overall, as we celebrate the film’s anniversary, let’s continue to appreciate the legacy of Carmen: A Hip Hopera and the contributions that have made it a classic in the culture.

Beyoncé’s “RENAISSANCE” Tour Could Earn Over $2 Billion From Ticket Sales Alone

Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE tour has yet to begin, but already, Forbes is reporting that the mother of three could bring in some serious cash after her time on the road. On Monday (May 8), the publication revealed that Queen B is expecting to clear as much as $2.1 billion from her trip around the world. This means she would outsell Taylor Swift’s Eras tour by approximately $500 million. The country-turned-popstar will likely take home $1.6 billion from her latest venture.

The estimated numbers are optimistic in favour of both singers. The outlet says that they’re based on the number of tickets sold so far, as well as the average price of nearly $700 per seat. In addition, Forbes has considered that both Beyoncé and Swift would be taking home a considerable share of merchandise proceeds while paying tour expenses that would be equal to roughly 20% of their revenue.

Beyoncé On Pace to Outsell Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

By the time she wraps things up in September, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE world tour could gross anywhere from $275M to $2.4B from ticket sales alone. The “I’m That Girl” hitmaker’s highest potential estimate is notably well above the $1.9B box office projection that’s been placed on the Eras tour. Aside from her pricey tickets, the Houston native also offered VIP packages to fans with serious cash to spare, ranging in price from $3750 to $5000.

As DailyMail points out, the last time The Lion King actress hit the road was in 2016 as a solo act. In 2018, she and her husband Jay-Z headed out to support their The Carters joint effort, much to the pleasure of their fans. The only performance Beyoncé has given so far in 2023 took place in Dubai, where her beautiful vocals helped to commemorate the opening of a new hotel in the luxurious country. While cameras were meant to be prohibited from the event, clips still managed to surface online, giving a preview of what’s to come later this summer. Are you checking out any of the RENAISSANCE concert dates? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ Is Huge, But Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Run Could Demolish It In Earnings, Data Suggests

Beyoncé rarely, if ever, comes in second to anyone. Taylor Swift rarely, if ever, comes in second to anyone. Something has to give this summer. Swift launched her The Eras Tour in March, and the North American leg will stretch until August 9. Beyoncé is beginning her Renaissance World Tour overseas this week before hitting North America from July through September.

According to Forbes, Beyoncé is poised to earn more than Swift in tour gross:

“Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter — also known as Queen Bey — could clear nearly $2.2 billion from her Renaissance World Tour — some $600 million more than the $1.6 billion Taylor Swift could earn from Eras. Those eyepopping estimates are based on the most optimistic assumptions of the number of fans buying tickets at their concerts and high average ticket prices of about $700.

They also assume the artists take home a considerable share of merchandise proceeds and pay tour expenses of 20% of revenues — leaving them with the other 80%. Renaissance could gross between $275 million and $2.57 billion from tickets alone by the time it ends in September. Beyoncé’s most optimistic ticket revenue estimate — $2.57 billion — is well above Eras‘ $1.9 billion most optimistic box office.”

There were also parallels drawn between the two tours upon Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour announcement at the start of February.

After Ticketmaster epically botched the presale for Swift’s The Eras Tour last fall — underestimating fan demand by millions and canceling the general salethe Beyhive was stressed to hear Ticketmaster was also handling Renaissance World Tour ticket sales. The Senate Judiciary Committee even put Ticketmaster on notice.

In terms of Forbes‘ projections, initial demand for Renaissance World Tour tickets would indicate that Beyoncé is in for a record payday. Some fans were relegated to the waitlist during Ticketmaster’s pre-sale raffle, and Megan Thee Stallion had to put in a direct request.

AJay Slammed On Social Media For Negative “Renaissance” Video

Renaissance was yet another commercial hit for Beyoncé. Debuting at #1, Beyoncé extended her record for most consecutive albums to debut at #1. It spent 14 weeks in the top 10. By the end of the year, Renaissance had the third-biggest debut of the year and was certified platinum.

The general consensus was that Renaissance was yet another Beyoncé banger. However, of course, there are going to be those that disagree. And among those is popular YouTuber AJay Deluxe. According to a summary of her “first listen” video by Pop Tingz, AJay was not a fan. “I did not enjoy myself listening to [RENAISSANCE] to be honest … It’s my least favorite Beyoncé album on my initial listen and usually her albums get better. But this one, not so much honey.” AJay’s full video is 30 minutes long. The YouTuber, who has 900,000 subscribers, is well known for her “first listen” review videos.

Twitter (Mostly) Doesn’t Have Time For AJay

A negative review of a popular album ten months after its release is often nothing more than a clout chase. That is especially the case when your review comes out five days before the artist in question embarks on a four-month world tour. The Renaissance World Tour is set to kick off on May 10 in Stockholm and finish on September 27 in New Orleans. The covers 12 countries and 17 US states, plus DC. The tour also continues a total of 57 concert stops.https://twitter.com/iigalore/status/1654639634863861760 However, the tour does not leave Europe and North America. Despite this, it’s a major undertaking for the performer.

However, Twitter and the Bey Hive had little time for AJay’s clowning. The fandom saw through the transparent attempt at clout-chasing and instead took to dunking on the YouTuber mercilessly. However, some people also defended the album as a “grower”, and nothing that is always immediately liked on the first listen. Be sure to check down below for some of the best responses to AJay’s review. But what do you think about it? Do you think AJay has a point? Or is this just some attention-seeking behavior?
