Jay-Z Liked A Fan’s Viral Paintings Of Beyonce So Much, He Bought Them

As rich as Jay-Z is, he always takes some time to support smaller artists, entrepreneurs, and business owners with money, respect, or both. Moreover, artist Lauryn Michele recently gained an incredibly famous new customer after appearing on NBC News on Saturday (July 28). On the program, she displayed the canvas paintings of Jay’s wife Beyoncé that she took with her to see the superstar perform for her RENAISSANCE tour in New Jersey. It seems like Hov was a particular fan, because he hit her up to meet the next day and purchase the pieces. Now, the New York rapper is happy with three tributes to his boo, and Michele got a huge promo boost as a result.

Furthermore, Lauryn Michele made a TikTok commemorating the occasion in almost all its phases. In it, she records the NBC News segment in the parking lot of the Beyonce show, giving it a behind-the-scenes look. Then, there’s a short clip of her watching the news coverage from the comfort of her home. Finally, she stands proudly alongside Jay-Z and her paintings in a picture of the meet-up, which hopefully brings her a lot more success for an already talented and boosted career and artistry.

Artist Sells Jay-Z Her Paintings Of Beyonce

However, this isn’t all that Jay-Z has done recently to uplift people looking to break into their respective industries. Through word of mouth, he heard that the Bronzeville Soul in Chicago was amazing, and paid the Black-owned business a visit. “I couldn’t believe it was him,” owner Mario Coleman told CBS News Chicago of Hov’s visit. “Actually, when I first saw him, I didn’t think it was him. I thought it was someone else acting like Jay-Z.

“His actual words to me was once he looked us up and saw it was a Black business,” Coleman continued. “He did tell me he wanted to support Black businesses, and he said, ‘That’s why I’m here.’ He said the food is good. We went through a lot of changes, but it all turned out good for everybody,” he remarked of the small boost in business amid tough times. “We’re happy. We want it to be better, of course, but we are happy it’s not killing us to the point where we thinking like, ‘We ain’t gonna make it.’” For more news and the latest updates on Jay-Z, check back in with HNHH.

People Think Beyoncé Intentionally Skipped Lizzo’s Name In A Song Following Allegations, So Tina Knowles Responded

Earlier this week, Lizzo faced some troubling allegations: a lawsuit filed by three of her former dancers accuses her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. After that, Beyoncé fans couldn’t help but notice that during a live performance of “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” she didn’t say Lizzo’s name despite it being in the song’s lyrics. Some thought that was intentional in light of the accusations, but now Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, has shared her thoughts.

In a comment on an Instagram post about the situation, Knowles-Lawson wrote, “She also didn’t say her own sisters name yal should really stop .”

Indeed, as some pointed out when the Lizzo-free performance first made the rounds, Beyonce regularly skips some of the names in the song. So, excluding Lizzo for that particular performance was perhaps just a case of coincidental timing.

Meanwhile, Lizzo shared a response to the allegations that reads in part, “These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”

Lizzo is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

What Song Does Blue Ivy Perform With Beyoncé On The ‘Renaissance Tour’?

Beyoncé has been continuing her Renaissance Tour run across North America, with recent dates taking place on the East Coast, and her family is joining her for the ride. Her daughter, Blue Ivy, has popped up as a mainstay of the show for one of the songs on the setlist.

After Beyoncé performs her hit, “Run The World (Girls),” Blue Ivy then joins her for “My Power,” from the 2019 soundtrack for The Lion King. During the stop at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, Blue also returned for “Black Parade” to unveil a special New York jersey.

The pop star’s young daughter debuted her skills during the European leg of the Renaissance Tour, showing off in Paris first.

“She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she’s just getting better and better,” Tina Lawson, her grandmother, told People.

“Well, this is a heels family,” she added. “You’re trained early to walk in heels. But yeah, she’s having the time of her life… I couldn’t be more proud of her because she really worked hard… So I’m the proud grandma, always.”

Blue Ivy’s grandmother on Jay-Z’s side (Gloria Carter) has also shared a similar sentiment, revealing that she told the two musicians that they “opened up a door” with this.

Dancers Who Sued Lizzo Speak On The Today Show

Yesterday a bomb dropped that shocked pop music fans. Lizzo has long been a champion of smashing body image standards and inspiring her fans to be their best selves. She’s also stood up to plenty of hate online for her own body image and body positivity. But it turns out that behind the scenes it may have been a different story. Yesterday three former dancers who previously worked for the singer are suing her for sexual harassment and promoting a hostile work environment.

Getting into the specifics of the allegations is quite alarming. Lizzo was reportedly “pressuring one dancer to touch a nude performer at an Amsterdam club,” forced her team through an exhaustive extra workout after accusing them of drinking, and berated one particular dancer for the weight she was putting on. The lawsuit also focuses on the captain of the singer’s dance team Shirlene Quigley. She reportedly brought up NSFW discussion topics frequently shaming others for having pre-marital sex while discussing her own fantasies. “The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing,” says a statement by the group’s attorney.

Lizzo’s Dancers Further Open Up

In the interview, the dancers elaborate on their claims. They specifically highlight the double standard of Lizzo’s public presence versus her private actions. One of the dancers notes that the singer would switch between “professional and personal” whenever she felt like it. The superstar herself has yet to respond to or even acknowledge the lawsuit in any way.

Clearly the news of Lizzo’s actions has spread very fast. She’s long been a fan of Beyonce and even attended a show on the Renaissance tour earlier this year. But last night during her most recent stop on the tour, Beyonce skipped over her name while singing the Queens Remix of “Break My Soul.” What do you think of Lizzo’s dancers appearing on “The Today Show” to expand on their recent lawsuit? Let us know in the comment section below.

A Beyoncé Collaborator Said She Once Made Emmy Replicas For Her Team After Her ‘Homecoming’ Documentary Didn’t Win

After hearing about how some artists allegedly treat their crew, it’s refreshing to hear stories of generosity and kindness. Beyoncé, who is currently on her Renaissance World Tour, is always said to be gracious to her team. Though she doesn’t do a whole lot of interviews, many of the people she works with often speak fondly of her, noting how well she treats her collaborators.

Yesterday (August 1), Oprah Winfrey and her longtime friend Gayle King took to social media to express the joy they felt after Beyoncé’s concert. The two lauded Beyoncé for her confidence and how powerful she made them feel.

Hannah Beachler, an Academy Award-winning production designer who has previously worked with Beyoncé, shared Oprah and Gayle’s video on her Twitter feed, while also sharing her experience of working with Bey herself.

“Working with Beyoncé over the years, I have said this each and every time,” said Beachler. “It’s not just on stage. She is tentacles of light, and those tentacles wrap you in power, love, and confidence. She is kind and protective and she’s a girls girl. This is her presence daily.”

She continued, noting that while Bey works very hard on her craft, she also prioritizes her family.

“She is a true Mama to her babies too,” said Beachler. “And she works, not to perfection but until it’s right. She is in love with her husband and he’s (a comedian and kind) in love with her. But be clear don’t cross her.”

Beachler closed out her thread with a story about how Bey went out of her way to make her crew feel special after a disappointing loss.

“One last little story. When I started on Black is King & went to the L.A. offices. There was a bunch of little plastic Emmy Awards w/handwritten names on them,” she said. “They told me b/c they didn’t win for Homecoming, B stayed up after & made everyone their own special one w/ a note.”

It’s good to know Beyoncé is a class act behind the scenes. It would surely break our souls if she weren’t.

[WATCH] Fans Notice Beyoncé Skips Lizzo’s Name During “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)” During Tour Stop

Lizzo Announces New Single "Rumors" for August 13

Fans at the Renaissance World Tour in Boston pointed out that Beyoncé skipped over Lizzo’s name during her “Queens Remix” performance of “Break My Soul.” The segment normally lists the iconic women throughout music history. During that performance, Beyoncé repeated Erykah Badu‘s last name instead.

This follows a scathing lawsuit that accused Lizzo of multiple forms of harassment and discrimination. You can read more on that here.

Fans also pointed out Beyoncé using Badu could also be the acknowledgment of the Neo Soul legend shading her over her tour wardrobe choices. You can read more on that here.

Beyoncé Seemingly Skips Over Lizzo’s Name In Her ‘Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)’ Performance Following The Allegations

Tuesday, August 1, news broke that Lizzo is being sued by three of her former dancers over accusations of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment. Though the “About Damn Time” singer hasn’t addressed the situation, Beyoncé may have.

Beyoncé is currently on The Renaissance Tour (of which Lizzo attended the Warsaw date). Videos have surfaced on social media showing Beyoncé seemingly skipping over Lizzo’s name during “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” instead repeating Erykah Badu’s name four times. This took place at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Other allegations in the lawsuit included religious and racial harassment, false imprisonment, interference with prospective economic advantage, and more. Lizzo also allegedly falsely accused dancers of drinking on the job and pressured a dancer to touch a nude performer in Amsterdam.

Last month, Lizzo made a TikTok in appreciation of Beyoncé. “There are days where the hate outweighs the love so badly that I want to quit music and just disappear,” she said, “I definitely have enough money to go and buy a farm and just never f*ck with anybody ever again, because f*ck everybody. Then, I reminded myself to get up, get out, and get some sun, and I put on Renaissance.”

Lizzo is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Erykah Badu Shades Beyoncé’s Tour Wardrobe: ‘I Guess I’m Everybody Stylist’

Erykah Badu Shades Beyoncé's Tour Wardrobe: 'I Guess I'm Everybody Stylist'

Erykah Badu, like the rest of the Internet, has seen looks from Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, and she thinks they look quite familiar to the items she has worn. Hitting Instagram, Badu drew comparisons to Queen Bey.

“Hmmm,” Badu wrote on Instagram sharing pictures of her and Bey. “I guess I’m everybody stylist.”

Page Six notes Badu also commented, “I’m flattered” on a picture on Beyoncé’s page.

Badu was specifically pointing to the oversized hats which she wore. Beyoncé started wearing big hats during the “Formation” era in 2016.

You can see the point below. Does Badu have a point?
