Rob49 Seen With Gun During Southern University Concert

Videos from a recent homecoming concert at Southern University show performer Rob49 with a gun on his person as he performed. Footage from the event shows the New Orleans performing on stage and a handgun sticking out of the back of his shorts as he turns his back to the crowd. In one clip, the rapper can be seen touching the gun as he adjusts his outfit. The footage quickly spread across social media. However, some sources mistakenly reported it as a high school homecoming.

Despite this, some have argued in support of Rob49. Back in January, the rapper was one of 10 people shot on the set of a music video in New Orleans. This has led people to argue that it makes sense that he would be armed while out in public. Despite this, Southern University strictly prohibits firearms on its campus. The school is yet to make a statement on the reports that Rob49 was armed during his performance. The rapper is set to perform at a homecoming show at Florida A&M later this month.

While Rob49 has quietly been making a name for himself on the rap scene, he has also been acquiring some fairly famous friends. Back in August, Rob49 linked up with Travis Scott to go clubbing. Footage from the club shows Scott incredibly tickled by Rob going ham. It’s a massive get for Rob, being able to hang out with one of the biggest rappers around right now.

However, that’s not the only collab between the two. Rob got a feature on Scott’s UTOPIA, appearing on “TOPIA TWINS” alongside 21 Savage. While UTOPIA spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Album 200, it’s also been a big year for Rob49. His sixth album, 4GOD II, included some big name features such as Roddy Ricch and DaBaby.

21 Savage Will Perform In London For First Time Ever At Homecoming Show

21 Savage is going back home, and he’s choosing to do so in a monumental way for his life and career. Moreover, he and his team at Live Nation recently announced a homecoming concert in London on November 30 at the O2 Arena, with special guests Baby Drill and 21 Lil Harold. This would mark the 30-year-old’s first show ever in the United Kingdom, and among his first-ever international shows. For those unaware, he recently officially became a U.S. resident, can now travel freely, and gave fans his first-ever international performance during his It’s All A Blur tour with Drake’s final show in Toronto.

Furthermore, the Slaughter Gang MC’s homecoming spectacle has presale and general public sale windows. The first, for the presale, goes up on Wednesday (October 11) on Live Nation’s website, and the general tickets go out on Friday (October 13). Considering how hard 21 Savage fought to secure his freedom, this is an incredibly exciting but also fulfilling conclusion to that saga. While he made a life for himself in the United States, there’s no place like home after such a long time away from it… and being barred from the chance to return in the first place.

What’s more is that the Atlanta-based hitmaker teased a trip back to London recently. In fact, Drake suggested that they’re both heading out for it, so Drizzy will likely be a surprise guest there. Either that, or they’re plotting a full international tour, rumors that media attached to solely 21 Savage following recent reports. Whatever the case, it looks like British fans will get a real treat come November.

Meanwhile, he faced these issues because he traveled to the U.S. from the U.K. at a young age, and then authorities arrested him years later for an expired visa. Criminal charges that stem from the arrest in question also played a factor in his case’s difficult progress through court. His lawyer clarified last week that he cleared all roadblocks from ICE and affirmed his status. Now, he aims to enjoy the ride. The release comes as Monae is currently on tour, having recently added several more North American dates. Latto also dropped her own single, “Issa Party,” last month. The track notably interpolates Waka Flocka’s 2010 hit song, “Grove St. Party.”

Beyonce Collaborator Recalls Her Making Emmy Replicas For Her Team After “Homecoming” Loss

Hannah Beachler, an Academy Award-winning production designer who has worked with Beyonce, recently recalled the singer passing out Emmy replicas for her team after the documentary, Homecoming, lost at the awards ceremony. Beachler wrote about the story on Twitter while sharing a video of Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King praising the Renaissance singer.

“Working with Beyoncé over the years, I have said this each and every time,” Beachler began in her series of posts. “It’s not just on stage. She is tentacles of light, and those tentacles wrap you in power, love, and confidence. She is kind and protective and she’s a girls girl. This is her presence daily.”

She continued: “She is a true Mama to her babies too. And she works, not to perfection but until it’s right. She is in love with her husband and he’s (a comedian and kind) in love with her. But be clear don’t cross her.”

In another post, Beachler explained that she learned of the Emmy replicas while working on Black is King. She wrote: “One last little story. When I started on Black is King & went to the L.A. offices. There was a bunch of little plastic Emmy Awards w/handwritten names on them,” she said. “They told me b/c they didn’t win for Homecoming, B stayed up after & made everyone their own special one w/ a note.” Check out Beachler’s tweets regarding Beyonce below.

Hannah Beachler On Working With Beyonce

The praise for Beyonce’s behind-the-scenes behavior comes on the same day that Lizzo has been coming under fire for a lawsuit that accuses her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Three dancers are suing her for damages over emotional distress including unpaid wages, loss of earnings, and attorney’s fees.

A Beyoncé Collaborator Said She Once Made Emmy Replicas For Her Team After Her ‘Homecoming’ Documentary Didn’t Win

After hearing about how some artists allegedly treat their crew, it’s refreshing to hear stories of generosity and kindness. Beyoncé, who is currently on her Renaissance World Tour, is always said to be gracious to her team. Though she doesn’t do a whole lot of interviews, many of the people she works with often speak fondly of her, noting how well she treats her collaborators.

Yesterday (August 1), Oprah Winfrey and her longtime friend Gayle King took to social media to express the joy they felt after Beyoncé’s concert. The two lauded Beyoncé for her confidence and how powerful she made them feel.

Hannah Beachler, an Academy Award-winning production designer who has previously worked with Beyoncé, shared Oprah and Gayle’s video on her Twitter feed, while also sharing her experience of working with Bey herself.

“Working with Beyoncé over the years, I have said this each and every time,” said Beachler. “It’s not just on stage. She is tentacles of light, and those tentacles wrap you in power, love, and confidence. She is kind and protective and she’s a girls girl. This is her presence daily.”

She continued, noting that while Bey works very hard on her craft, she also prioritizes her family.

“She is a true Mama to her babies too,” said Beachler. “And she works, not to perfection but until it’s right. She is in love with her husband and he’s (a comedian and kind) in love with her. But be clear don’t cross her.”

Beachler closed out her thread with a story about how Bey went out of her way to make her crew feel special after a disappointing loss.

“One last little story. When I started on Black is King & went to the L.A. offices. There was a bunch of little plastic Emmy Awards w/handwritten names on them,” she said. “They told me b/c they didn’t win for Homecoming, B stayed up after & made everyone their own special one w/ a note.”

It’s good to know Beyoncé is a class act behind the scenes. It would surely break our souls if she weren’t.

Future Goes All Out For Lil Double 0’s Homecoming Gifts

Lil Double 0 is back home and the FBG boss Future ensured that he was welcomed back properly. A video surfaced this week of Future handing over goodies to the young rapper after his release from jail. Double 0 came home to a stack of cash and new jewelry, including an iced-out watch and Freebandz chain. “That shit go with it. Turn my dog up. Just got out the slammer turn my dog up, man,” Future said with a grin on his face. Double 0 replied, “Turn that shit up a whole another notch. They know that.”

Lil Double 0 has been a rising force on the Freebandz roster but his legal issues have undoubtedly stagnated his journey. Last December, police arrested the “Good On Love” rapper on drug and gun charges. However, in February, he turned himself into authorities before his release earlier this week. Meanwhile, Akademiks alleged that Lil Double 0 was potentially facing a 15-year prison sentence as paperwork revealed that he was charged with trafficking oxycodone, possessing MDMA, driving without a valid license, and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.

Future Gears Up To Release New Music

Besides ensuring that his artists are taken care of, Future appears to be plotting on the release of new music. Last year, we received his latest full-length album, I Never Liked You, which served as one of the highest-selling projects of 2022. Along with the success of “Wait For You” ft. Drake and Tems, Future continued to claim his reign at the top of the charts. However, there has been further anticipation surrounding his next effort.

Metro Boomin and Future have been hinting at the release of a collaborative project in the near future. On several occasions since the top of 2023, the two have hinted at releasing a joint project together. Metro even said that it would see the light of day in 2023. Although no release date has been set, Metro has been cooking up the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse which he confirmed will include a new collaboration with Future. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates on the project. Check out Future’s welcome home gift to Lil Double 0 above.
