Sexyy Red Twerked In Front Of The White House For Her 2024 BET Awards Performance Medley

It’s election season, and while the last presidential debate didn’t exactly inspire confidence, Sexyy Red threw her hat in the ring with her 2024 BET Awards performance.

Sexyy kicked things off with with “U My Everything” before a hard pivot into a massive White House-themed set, to shift into “Get It Sexyy,” complete with Secret Service-looking backing dancers. The performance ended, as all good ones should, with Sexyy twerking in front of the White House.

Sexyy Red has been taking advantage of election season by going politically themed with her latest output, like with her patriotic new video for “Bow Wow Wow (F My Baby Dad).” She also made her WWE NXT debut recently and twerked up a storm while doing so. She even made an unexpected cameo appearance at, of all places, Zach Bryan’s tour.

Sexyy is one of the night’s leading nominees, with five total nods. Her, Drake, and SZA’s “Rich Baby Daddy” is up for Best Collaboration; she’s up for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Best New Artist; and “Rich Baby Daddy” is also up for Video Of The Year and the Viewer’s Choice Award.

Megan Thee Stallion Delivers A Heated Medley Of Favorites For Her 2024 BET Awards Performance

Megan Thee Stallion is delivering the heat on and off the microphone. With the “Down Stairs DJ” rapper’s latest album, Megan, out on streaming platforms, fans are joining in on the lyrical flames.

Tonight (June 30) at the 2024 BET Awards, the H-town hottie brought her Hot Girl Summer Tour to Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater.

To open the show, Megan took to the stage with a scorching melody of her latest tracks. As she broke free from her shell (in this case, a mock snake egg), Megan began with “Hiss.” Although, the evening’s host, Taraji P. Henson, promised the evening would be about love, the crowd remembers the origins of the striking.

When the track first dropped, Megan had a lot to get off of her chest against her ex-boyfriend Pardi, frenemy Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, and more.

Next up, “Boa,” the follow-up to “Hiss.” Megan was joined by an army of dancers to help shake the stage with a thunderous twerk session. To close out the set, decided to pivot to a newer song, “Where Them Girls At.”

Despite it being a fresh release, online users have already crowned it a fan favorite, and based off the audience’s response it might be true.

Victoria Monét Paid Homage To Michael Jackson With Her 2024 BET Awards Performance

Fresh off announcing her song for the Disney+ Star Wars series, The Acolyte, “Power Of Two,” and dropping her Kaytranada-produced single “Alright,” Victoria Monét hit the stage at the 2024 BET Awards to perform that song, along with her breakout hit, “On My Mama.” Beginning with the latter and hitting the stage in a sporty, Y2K-era outfit, Monét paid homage to Michael Jackson, donning his iconic “Smooth Criminal” suit, then stripped down to perform “Alright” with some help from Kaytranada, ending the set with a striking, Flashdance-inspired pose, backed by a simulated waterfall. The performance was the star’s first for the BET Awards, but judging by the warm reception it received, it won’t be her last.

Although Victoria has had a fantastic year so far, it hasn’t all been good news. In May, the star said she was “gutted” to announce the cancelations of several of her upcoming festival appearances for health reasons. “Candidly I have been dealing with some ongoing health issues that have to be addressed right now, but I will be back out there soon, that’s a promise!” she wrote on her social channels. Please know it wasn’t an easy call but it’s definitely for the best. All other shows are still moving forward as planned. See you soon.”

Cardi B Slammed The ‘P*ssy Ass’ Production Team Of BET Experience 2024 After Her Set Was Riddled With Technical Issues

As the kids say, Cardi B is back outside. The “Enough (Miami)” rapper is positioning herself to release her long-awaited sophomore album.

Yesterday (June 28) Cardi put her best foot forward during the BET Experience 2024 concert series. Unfortunately, in Cardi’s eyes, the set didn’t have the bang she wanted. So, during the show, she took a moment to slam the production team in charge of her stage effects.

“Production, y’all messing up my pyros,” she said. “Y’all messing up my music. F*ck am I paying y’all p*ssy ass n****s for? What am I paying y’all for?”

While many fans jumped to the defensive, others, including YouTuber Milagro Gramz, weren’t fond of her comments. “I understand that people have families to feed, but I wished we lived in a better world because no one should ever be disrespected like this in a workplace environment/at all,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Cardi immediately clapped back. “Girl shut up,” she wrote. “When you do a show you don’t pay after, you pay before. I paid 350,000 up front the least they could do is get my pyro ready and turn the fans on because guess what??? At the end of the day, that money is not returnable… don’t half ass my show because you comfortable when I definitely don’t half ass when it comes to paying.”

The two went on to get in a heated exchange over resurfaced commentary from the YouTuber. View the exchange below.

Cardi B closed out by doubling down on her onstage remark after a supporter backed her. Read her detailed about of the technical issues below.

Thank you for understanding. Let me tell you about yesterday! I spent $100k on pyro, that we couldn’t use because the production team failed to have the fire marshall go over safety with my team which is so simple to do. Spent days in rehearsal learning choreography just for them to have the wrong mix, and we had to swap it out. Booked four fans so they could be turned on during ‘Bartier Cardi’ and that never happened. You wanna know why? Because they didn’t bother to show up to rehearsal while hundred thousands of dollars was put into this show. Don’t play with my money in this economy, honey.

The 2024 BET Awards are scheduled for June 30. Hopefully by then, the production team has ironed out any technical hiccups for the other acts.

Megan Thee Stallion Set To Be Opening Act At The 2024 BET Awards

Megan Thee Stallion is going to be hitting the 2024 BET Award show stage this coming weekend, according to Billboard. Her, along with GloRilla, Will Smith, Ice Spice, Latto, Shaboozey, and more, will rock the crowd on Sunday, June 30. What is even more exciting, is that she will be the opening act. This is the perfect choice for the show. Two days prior, the Houston, Texas MC’s third solo album, MEGAN, will be out. Obviously, this could lead to the audience to receiving an exclusive first taste of some new songs live.

This announcement also comes at a great time for Megan, because of her recent accomplishments. For example, the hitmaker and Amazon collaborated on a commercial to promote the 10th annual Prime Day. It is sure to bring in more customers on both sides, as the theme song is also going to be a bonus track. The catchy tune will land on an exclusive Amazon edition release of MEGAN when the album drops on June 28.

Who Is Performing At The 2024 BET Awards?

This Sunday (June 30) at 8 p.m., all eyes will be on BET as the 2024 BET Awards take place. We know who’s nominated: That was announced in May, and leading the pack are Drake, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, Victoria Monét, 21 Savage, Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, and Usher.

The other big piece of the puzzle is who is set to perform during the broadcast. Well, now we know.

Who’s Performing At The 2024 BET Awards?

It was announced today (June 26) that Megan Thee Stallion has joined the lineup, as she’ll perform to open the show.

Meanwhile, added to the lineup two days ago was Will Smith, who is set to perform a new original song.

Also performing during the broadcast will be GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Lauryn Hill and YG Marley, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tyla, and Victoria Monét. Tanner Adell will also perform, on the BET Amplified stage.

Usher, meanwhile, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement BET Award. Taraji P. Henson is returning to host the show.

Aside from getting ready for the BET Awards, Megan also just had a fresh Amazon Prime Day ad campaign drop, which included a brand-new song made specifically for the commercial.

Will Smith To Perform First New Song In Seven Years At BET Awards

Will Smith is having a moment. The entertainer just scored a massive box office hit with Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The press tour for the action sequel has gone a long way in restoring Smith’s goodwill with the public. He knows it too, because he isn’t taking any plays off. In fact, Smith is doubling down and has decided to return to his hip-hop roots. On June 24, the Oscar winner announced that he will perform at the upcoming BET Awards. To make things even more interesting, he will be playing a brand new song.

Smith has flirted with hip-hop a few times in the 2020s. He collaborated with artists like Logic and Joyner Lucas, and he even performed “Men In Black” at Coachella this year. The difference with the BET Awards is that Big Willie Style will be giving fans original material. He hasn’t released a new solo song since 2017, and “Get Lit” didn’t exactly light the world up. Will Smith hasn’t had a top 10 single since “Switch,” which came out in 2005. Now’s the time to attempt a comeback, though, and BET confirmed the performance with a Variety press release.

Will Smith Is Allegedly Working On A New Album

The release was penned by Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming and Music Strategy at BET. “From his start as a rapper to The Fresh Prince,” she stated. “To being a box office king as one of the Bad Boys, Will Smith is truly a global icon. And we are honored to welcome him back to grace the BET Awards stage. We look forward to Will adding to yet another defining night for the culture that is not to be missed.” Smith hasn’t divulged any details about the song or the album that it will reportedly serve as a single for. He did, however, discuss why he felt compelled to pick up the microphone during a 2015 Guardian interview.

Will Smith credited his son, Jaden, and Kanye West, for prompting his musical rebirth. “My son tells me I have to write out the things I don’t like,” he told to the outlet. “I can’t write and stop, I have to keep going and going and write them out. I’ve never worked like that before but I think I might give that a shot… I’m exploring.” It’s taken nearly a decade for this exploring to come to fruition, but it sounds like Smith may have finally found what he was looking for. We’ll know for sure on June 30 when the BET Awards air.
