Antonio Brown Roasts Brittney Griner After Trump’s WNBA Comments

Donald Trump courting controversy is nothing new. The former President has staked his career and public persona on it. Trump hit on the topic of transgender participation in sports during his speech at the RNC, and he took a predictable route. He’s against it. “We will not have men playing in women’s sports,” he declared. “That will end immediately.” The internet was irate, the RNC crowd was pleased, and Antonio Brown decided to troll. The former all-star athlete decided to hop on Twitter to absolutely roast WNBA stalwart Brittney Griner.

Antonio Brown reposted the Donald Trump quote and directed at Griner. He claimed that the athlete would have to retire if Trump gets his way, implying that she was transgender. “Congrats to Brittany Griner on a great career,” he tweeted. He also included the hashtag to his network, #CTESPN. AB’s targeted the WNBA star in the past. Followers don’t even have to scroll that far back on his Twitter to determine the last time Brown mocked her appearance. On June 13, Brown tweeted: “Brittney Griner is definitely a dude.” The comment drew intense backlash from WNBA fans and the LGBTQ community.

Antonio Brown Has Bullied Brittney Griner In The Past

Antonio Brown may have used a politician’s remarks as a launchpad for a diss, but he didn’t need Trump to sound off about the WNBA. The former NFL player has taken repeated shots at both the organization and its athletes. The same day he attacked Griner, he dismissed the WNBA by claiming that people don’t actually watch it. “So when you’re arguing about it,” he tweeted. “You’re not arguing about a professional sport. It’s more of just a charity for lesbians.” For good measure, AB insulted Caitlin Clark during his rant, likening her to actor Mel Gibson in appearance. None of these comments went over well.

Like the President he quoted, however, Antonio Brown has built his brand on controversy. He knows this, and continues to lean into it. When asked why he chooses to make bold statements or attack others, the ex-NFL star told CBS News that he was being authentic. “Everything I did, I did it because my heart believed that was what I needed to do,” he explained. “And in life, sometimes you got to listen to your heart because that’s the only way I could go to sleep at night.” Expect AB to catch heat for his latest comment, and then prepare for whatever the next one will be.

Trey Songz Defends Bronny James Against The Haters After First NBA Summer League Games

It’s either not easy being LeBron James or it’s too easy: that’s the debate raging around Bronny James as a Los Angeles Laker during the NBA’s Summer League these days. While he recently scored 12 points in the team’s first win during this period, there are still a lot of people doubting his talent or overly criticizng of his circumstances, choices, and very short career so far. Nevertheless, there are those like Trey Songz who staunchly defend the basketball player against the haters, as he did with a recent Instagram Story post. “I’m rooting for bruh all day: y’all n***as weird,” he captioned a repost of Bronny playing with the Lakers.

Furthermore, this is especially notable thanks to a “caught in 4K moment” that happened to recent NBA champion and Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown. He said that Bronny James “isn’t a pro” while courtside at a Summer League game, and fans were quick to call him out for this when the clip went viral. But Brown backtracked quick on Twitter: “It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the nba it reflects greatness and longevity !Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth.”

As for Trey Songz, he’s dealing with yet another assault accusation, which he’s stacked up many of throughout the years. Still, it’s important to note that some of these didn’t amount to anything, so take all these allegations and claims with a grain of salt. But the singer isn’t only passionate about sports: he also stands by certain principles with his art. For example, he recently revealed that he scrapped a music video with Tyga back in the day because there weren’t enough Black women in it.

Meanwhile, Bronny James isn’t just getting wins on the court, but also on the battlefield… well, a virtual one. He won a Call Of Duty tournament during Summer League between fellow NBA players and hopefuls, and if you’re curious, Grant Williams came in second. It’s funny to think about Bronny’s play style in a military first-person shooter translating to the basketball court. Will he be a sniper from three, a run-and-gun SMG rusher down the lane, or a shotgun-wielding bruiser in the paint? We’re excited to find out.

Steph Curry Admits He’s Tired Of Hearing Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”

Steph Curry and Kendrick Lamar are West Coast legends. They revived the NBA and hip-hop scenes, respectively, and changed both mediums forever. There was even a viral TikTok going around on July 17, in which NBA athletes were compared to rappers. Low and behold, Curry and K. Dot were the two names linked. That being said, the Chef has had enough of Lamar’s latest record. He was captured on video during Team USA’s match against Serbia, and he was not happy when he heard “Not Like Us.”

Curry can be seen walking on the court after Team USA defeated Serbia. “Not Like Us” can be heard in the background, and the superstar is immediately annoyed. “Damn with this song,” he says. “It’s not the only song in America.” Curry’s reaction is immediately counterbalanced by LeBron James, who admits that he’s still a fan of the Drake diss. “I love it,” he tells Curry. Anthony Edwards doesn’t comment on the number one single, but he can be seen dancing to it before the video cuts out.

LeBron Told Steph Curry He Still Loves The Song

Steph Curry hasn’t spoken publicly about the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. However, he has been referenced by Lamar on “Meet the Grahams.” The Compton rapper tells Curry to keep his family away from Drake, due to Drake’s unsavory reputation. A reputation that Lamar himself perpetuated throughout the battle. The rapper also mentions LeBron James, which makes the “Not Like Us” exchange even more ironic. “Ayy, LeBron, keep the family away,” Lamar raps. “Hey, Curry, keep the family away. To anybody that embody the love for their kids, keep the family away.”

Drake, meanwhile, has referenced Steph Curry on multiple songs. He compared himself to the Chef on “0 to 100 / The Catch Up” in 2014. He also claimed to be running up the numbers like Curry on the 2016 smash “Why You Always Hatin.” The latter was a collab with West Coast veteran YG. A veteran who was among the people who distanced themselves from Drake and supported Kendrick Lamar during the beef. YG attended Lamar’s “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth, as did LeBron James. The latter was seen rapping and dancing in the audience. Curry, however, was nowhere to be found.

Kobe Bryant’s Father, Joe Bryant, Dies At 69 After Suffering A Massive Stroke

Joe Bryant, the father of late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, has reportedly passed away at the age of 69. La Salle head coach Fran Dunphy confirmed to the Philadelphia Inquirer on Tuesday that Joe had recently suffered a massive stroke. His death comes over four years after the tragic passing of his son and granddaughter Gigi, who both died in a helicopter accident in January 2020.

Joe was a basketball star in his own right, prior to his son becoming one of the greatest ever. He made a name for himself as a player for both Bartram High School and La Salle in Philadelphia. The Golden State Warriors ended up drafting him in the first round back in 1975 before selling his rights to the 76ers that same year. He spent four seasons with the team before joining the Houston Rockets for a stretch. Eventually, he found continued success overseas, where he played primarily in Italy.

While Joe and Kobe were close throughout his childhood and early in his NBA career, their relationship eventually became strained later in life. Joe never made a public comment about his son’s death and faced backlash from fans after listing Kobe’s first championship ring for auction. Speaking with ESPN back in 2016, Kobe described his relationship with his parents as “sh*t.” He explained: “I say [to them], ‘I’m going to buy you a very nice home, and the response is ‘That’s not good enough’? Then you’re selling my sh*t?”

Further details on Joe’s passing have yet to be made available. Be on the lookout for further updates on the Bryant family on HotNewHipHop.

Jaylen Brown Reacts After He Was Caught Saying Bronny James Isn’t NBA Material

Jaylen Brown is a player who just had the greatest season of his professional career. Overall, he was able to help the Boston Celtics win and NBA title. He won NBA Finals MVP, and there is no doubt that he was the best player on the floor during the Finals. However, he is also extremely outspoken. So much so that there are rumblings that his statements and political views are ultimately why he is not on the Olympic team. Regardless, he says what he wants which is surely admirable.

Recently, Jaylen Brown was courtside at an NBA Summer League game. During the game, he was sitting with his new girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick, as well as Angel Reese. Below, you can see that he was caught making some comments about Bronny James. Essentially, he noted that he does not believe Bronny has what it takes to be a player in the league right now. It was a harsh statement albeit one that he stands by. In fact, after the clip of him saying his comments went viral, Brown took to Twitter to give a more diplomatic view of the situation.

Bronny James Wins Call Of Duty Tournament During NBA Summer League

Bronny James won a Call of Duty tournament over the weekend during the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas. The tournament appeared to feature NBA players and NBA hopefuls, as Charlotte Hornets player Grant Williams placed second overall. For his win in the Modern Warfare III tournament, he received a Call of Duty championship belt and a $10,000 prize.

Bronny James is no stranger to the gaming industry. He previously livestreamed on Twitch, and though his account has been dormant for years, he still has over 600 thousand followers. James was also previously a member of esports organization FaZe Clan’s celebrity wing, joining in 2020. FaZe Clan came into popularity over a decade ago because of their ability to hit “trick shots” on the popular Call of Duty games of the time. He made the cover of Sports Illustrated with the team in 2021 with other members of the team, becoming one of the youngest athletes to grace the cover of the magazine.

Bronny James Wins Call Of Duty Tournament During Summer League

Call of Duty is famously very popular among athletes, so Bronny James being good at and enjoying playing the game is not surprising. Many NBA players have spoken about being avid gamers, as it provides them with something to do in their downtime, away from the daily grind that comes with being a professional athlete. His father LeBron James recently previewed the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 game on a livestream with longtime friend Frankie Walker, blowing him out while controlling Ohio State University. LeBron is also a longtime Madden player, beating his Lakers teammates in tournaments during the NBA bubble, so he and his son are both good at their video games of choice.

In a recent interview with ESPN, LeBron stated that he would have supported Bronny in any endeavor he chose to embark on and mentioned gaming as one of those endeavors. Gaming is clearly big in the James household, and in Bronny’s case, it became an important part of his public identity long before he even knew he’d be playing in the NBA. As most rookies do, Bronny has struggled in the Summer League so far, though his defensive instincts and playmaking have received early praise from his peers and pundits alike. Hopefully, he gets it going on the court in the same way that he has off the court.

Gilbert Arenas Argues Why LeBron James’ Bronny Push Has Made Insecure Fathers Jealous

Gilbert Arenas appeared on DJ Vlad’s YouTube channel to discuss a variety of topics. One question that arose was about Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. The Lakers drafted Bronny with the 55th overall pick. Next season, he and LeBron will be the first father-son duo in NBA history. The pick garnered a mixed reaction, with some praising the significance of the moment. Others made nepotism accusations, arguing that if the Lakers didn’t draft him, no one else would have.

Gilbert Arenas offered a different perspective, explaining that Bronny likely had other interested teams if agent Rich Paul had to make phone calls dissuading front offices from selecting him. Paul threatened to send Bronny to play in Australia if any other team drafted him. That move allowed the Lakers to draft him without fear of him being selected earlier. LeBron, who does not have many years as an NBA player left, will mentor his son as he navigates the early years as a professional athlete. Arenas also argued that any criticism levied towards LeBron for ensuring his son a spot on an NBA roster stems from insecure fathers wishing they did more for their children.

Gilbert Arenas Reacts To Nepotism Accusations Against LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers

“Fathers have passed on their businesses, their teams, to their kids, and no one says anything. So, the fact that he used his leverage to get his son on the team is a problem? That’s insecurity right there,” said Arenas. On the latest episode of his Gil’s Arena podcast, Arenas was asked what the expectations should be for Bronny’s rookie season. He replied that Bronny will be a spectator, jokingly saying that he’ll be on the sideline yelling “Go Daddy Go!” while LeBron is on the court. He also said that Bronny will use all his time around the team to learn how to be great.

Gilbert Arenas and LeBron James had battles on the court, and now Arenas is showing support for James and his family in a media role, both on his own podcast and in his interview with DJ Vlad. James, who’s playing in the Olympics this summer, will be entering his 22nd season in the NBA in October. He is still one of the best players in the NBA, just a few months shy of his 40th birthday. The player that Bronny will be remains to be seen. He has high potential, and he will do everything he can to be the best player possible.

Cam’ron Walks Off “It Is What It Is Set” Upon Hearing Of Dwyane Wade’s Nail Care Brand Plans

Cam’ron is infamously not a fan of Dwyane Wade’s painted nails, so his reaction when he heard that he might be planning to launch his own nail care brand was anything but surprising. Moreover, he straight-up walked off the set of his co-hosted sports talk show, It Is What It Is, when they broached the subject, cutting the episode off early. It was quite the extreme reaction and one that fans were quick to either clown or agree with on social media. Either way, regardless of where you stand on the “painted nails” debacle, are we really going to make such a big deal out of someone capitalizing on the financial and social interest in that?

Jokes aside, Cam’ron has more pressing athletic threats to address when it comes to the subjects of his occasional ire. For example, Shakur Stevenson warned that he might just drop a diss track against him after the Dipset member threatened to slap Stevenson if they ever met. This whole beef seemed to stem from comments about the boxer being a poor fighter on It Is What It Is, so Mase also got his fair share of bashing. At least we know that Dwyane Wade is not that combative with the trolls.

Cam’ron Is In Disbelief With Dwyane Wade’s Planned Nail Care Line

But for every sports superstar that Cam’ron finds beef with, his appreciation for one particular football legend is greater than all his anger at his opps combined. Of course, we’re talking about O.J. Simpson, and the New York rapper even dressed up as him for his Fourth Of July celebrations. They shared a pretty close and somewhat controversial bond over the years, one that he spoke touchingly on once Simpson passed away. So don’t go thinking that Killa Cam is just a frustrated guy: he’s got plenty of love to share.

Meanwhile, Cam’ron is sadly not the only person hating on Dwyane Wade’s nail care line plans. It’s an unfortunately regressive mentality to have against someone who has shown nothing but support to his family. Wade didn’t have to put others down while doing so, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Let’s see if Cam ever actually talks about it…

Paul Pierce Ridiculously Suggests He’s Responsible For LeBron James’ Greatness

Paul Pierce is a former NBA star who has had some very interesting hot takes over the years. Overall, he is consistently giving some opinions that make NBA fans do a double-take. This is especially true as it pertains to none other than LeBron James. LeBron and Pierce were rivals in the NBA, although more often than not, James came away on top. However, Pierce consistently denigrates LeBron’s career and will make it seem like four titles aren’t that impressive.

Today, Paul Pierce gave perhaps one of his wildest LeBron hot takes yet. During his recent appearance on Undisputed, Pierce made the case that he is the reason why LeBron James was able to enjoy so much success in the league. By his rationale, Pierce and the Celtics made LeBron want to elevate to another level. “I truly feel responsible for taking LeBron to that next level,” Pierce argued. As you can imagine, this has caused a bit of a stir on social media.

Paul Pierce Believes He Made LeBron

Pierce has been known to go viral in the past. Of course, he was infamously fired by ESPN after a video of himself partying with strippers was livestreamed on Instagram. Since that time, Pierce has gotten his own show with Kevin Garnett on Showtime. Furthermore, he is now a recurring co-host on Undisputed during the NBA season. As for LeBron, he is about to enter his 22nd season in the NBA, and fans are excited to see what he does at the age of 40.
