Earlier this week, Trick Daddy hopped online to share his appreciation for GloRilla. He posted a photo of her posing in a mirror, complimenting her bathroom. “Damn Glo I’m loving this bathroom [side eye emoji],” he wrote. As expected, social media users were quick to call him out. Many had issues with his behavior, arguing that it was disrespectful and creepy to thirst for the “TGIF” rapper publicly.

It looks like Trick Daddy was unbothered by the backlash, however. Today, he took to social media once again, this time getting extremely explicit with his remarks about GloRilla. Essentially, he said he wanted to sleep with her, and that she’d rap about it after. This latest video has earned him a great deal of backlash in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section, and most can agree that he crossed the line.

“This is disturbing to say the least,” one Instagram user writes. “Immediately no,” someone else says. At the time of writing, GloRilla has yet to address his remarks, so it remains unclear exactly how she feels about all of this. She isn’t the first femcee Trick Daddy has shown love to in recent weeks, however, as he also praised Sexyy Red on his podcast this month. He was much more respectful at the time, claiming that she was snubbed at the BET Awards.

“You got snubbed,” he began. “Sexyy Red was up for the rapper, entertainer, performer. One of ’em other year. I remember last year, they was hating on her since she wasn’t making, now I can’t go in a club. Pretty Vee has had a pretty hectic few months in the public eye, catching heat for her Sonya Massey comments and other online antics. Moreover, the most recent of these is a new video she uploaded online that depicts her, for lack of a better description, making fun of Asian culture to the tune of Megan Thee Stallion and Yuki Chiba’s “Mamushi.” The comedian dances and salutes in a pretty mocking way, and while it’s clear that it’s just meant as a joke and not an attack, a lot of people didn’t find it very funny. We’ll see if she responds to this backlash in any significant way.

Elsewhere, Pretty Vee recently stepped into the online space to defend B. Simone after a brief and unintentional social media spat with Soulja Boy. “Don’t play with me @souljaboy. You better play with them ones like this but not @thebsimone. Again she said what she said, now WHAT. Pretty Vee Faces Heavy Backlash For Offensive Clip

Back to Pretty Vee, though, she also went viral recently for making fun of her ex Rick Ross’ Vancouver incident with Drake fans during her comedy show. For those who didn’t catch that story, Rozay played Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track at a festival in the city, and allegedly refused to turn it off at folks’ request. Then, a group of OVO die-hards confronted Ross and his entourage, resulting in a fight that the rapper feels the aftermath of to this day. In fact, one of these guys actually released a diss track against him, despite the sad reality that he will probably never respond.

Regardless, it’s not as sad as the reality in which Pretty Vee took things too far with this video. Her beef with Rick Ross will probably keep being a background narrative in their careers. But it’s clear that they can stir up controversy for far less than that. Let’s just hope that the next cultural exchange on Vee’s behalf comes with more respect and explanation.

Regardless of where you fall on that spectrum, it’s clear that the conflict occurs between fans and detractors, not between the Virginia native and his relationships with other artists.

As such, it’s important to understand that the stardom of Chris Brown is a pretty unmovable object, and fan backlash is not quite the unstoppable force that they want it to be, for better or worse.
