Snoop Dogg & Kroger Slammed For Wine Promotion During Black History Month

Snoop Dogg faces criticism online for his promotion of his wine brand 19 Crimes at a local Kroger during Black History Month. Moreover, the small town grocery store featured promotional posters and messages that many found particularly insensitive. According to WSB-TV Channel 2, patrons at a Kroger on Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City, Georgia are not happy with the promo stunts. There’s a life size cutout of Snoop promoting 19 Crimes, and next to it is the bulletin board that caught people’s ire. For example, its featured phrases like “Dream Like Martin” and “Say it loud, I’m Black and proud” struck many as a slap in the face.

Furthermore, the promotional posters stood next to bottles of bubbly from Dogg’s label and also Black Girl Magic Wine. Even if they were selling a million bucks for a dollar, people didn’t take kindly to the messages. “I just felt that it was offensive,” former president of the local NAACP Johnnie Jones told WSB-TV Chanel 2. “They really promoting alcohol. Proud of drinking wine? No. We’re proud of the Tuskegee Airmen whose shoulders I stand on.”

Kroger Customers Weigh In On Snoop Dogg’s Wine Promotion

Also, he said the store should honor leaders like Atlanta’s first Black Mayor or the first Black Mayor of Fayetteville. “We need to be thirsty for knowledge,” he added. In addition, other customers chimed in on the signs in the report. “It’s very negative,” added Michael Drummond. What’s more is that some defended them and didn’t see a problem with them. “I didn’t think there was anything wrong with showing a display of Snoop,” customer Pam Lewis shared. “I mean, if you want to drink wine whether it’s Black History Month or not it shouldn’t really make any difference.”

Meanwhile, after the backlash, store managers immediately pulled the promotion. Kroger’s corporate offices stated, “Kroger is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in all we do. Our intentions are never meant to be offensive.” Still, neither the Long Beach legend nor his team responded to this as of yet. Regardless of your take, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Snoop Dogg.

Julia Fox Responds To Alexander Wang Backlash

Julia Fox has responded to the backlash she’s received for walking on the runway for Alexander Wang at New York Fashion Week. Multiple people have accused the disgraced designer of sexual assault over the years. Wang’s show was not officially listed as an event for New York Fashion Week. However, over 150 guests still attended his runway show, including Anna Wintour, Nikita Dragun, and Ava Max. Fox remarked in a TikTok on Wang’s page that her outfit made her feel “like a sexy siren, ready to suck souls.”

After receiving backlash online for her affiliation with Wang, Fox responded in a comment on TikTok. She admitted that she feels Wang has put in the work to better himself as a person. She wrote: “I love cancel culture but we do need to leave room for rehabilitation and for those who put in the work and heal and learn from their mistakes.”

Wang originally addressed the allegations back in 2021, promising to “set a better example” and “do better” going forward. He also met with 11 of his accusers. He wrote in his statement: “A number of individuals have come forward recently to raise claims against me regarding my past personal behavior. I support their right to come forward, and I’ve listened carefully to what they had to say. It was not easy for them to share their stories, and I regret acting in a way that caused them pain. While we disagree on some of the details of these personal interactions, I will set a better example and use my visibility and influence to encourage others to recognize harmful behaviors. Life is about learning and growth, and now that I know better, I will do better.”

Wang had his first fashion show post-allegations last year in Los Angeles. The new show is Wang’s first showing at New York Fashion Week in three years. In L.A., models Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, and Alessandra Ambrósio walked for him.

Julia Fox Responds To NYC Apartment Tour Backlash

Thanks to social media, celebrities are able to share more intimate content with their fanbase than ever before. Those who live in luxurious abodes often wind up sharing their homes on the cover of Architectural Digest. However, Julia Fox chose to stay true to her brand by showing off her modest New York City apartment on TikTok.

Last week, the Italian starlet uploaded a video breaking down the layout of the home she shares with her 2-year-old son, Valentino. She reveals that she turned her living room into a bedroom, and converted her closet into a playspace for her beloved little boy.

@juliafox

Come with me on a very underwhelming apartment tour! also to clarify I have only ONE mouse and he’s cute 🥰

Fox also didn’t hesitate to point out any of the mess and clutter surrounding her. There was a collection of shoe boxes in her kitchen, and a mouse responsible for picking up crumbs. While many praised the Uncut Gems actress for being “real” and “humble,” the TikTok obviously didn’t come without its share of criticism.

Yesterday (January 30), the Forbidden Fruits podcast host responded to a comment inquiring why she lives in such a modest apartment if her net worth is allegedly $30 million. “Even though I could have probably afforded a bigger place — probably, ’cause I am in New York after all — you know, it’s about having that sense of normalcy for Valentino,” she explained.

“I don’t want him to grow up and be, like, a f*cking prick,” she went on. Fox also noted that she grew up in a one-bedroom in Italy before moving to Manhattan at age six. Because she “grew up in the real world,” she hopes that her only child will have a similar experience.

The 32-year-old also addressed the rumours regarding her net worth. “First of all, I’m not worth $30 million. Not even close. And second of all, I don’t give a f*ck because I don’t need $30 million,” she told the camera. “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. All those celebrity net worth [websites] are complete BS.”

In the past, some haters have accused Fox of spending thousands of dollars on her unique designer wardrobe. She later brought this up in the same video, explaining that the pieces she wears are often borrowed couture. Many also come from young designers on the rise.

When reflecting on the response to her NYC abode, she said, “I got a lot of mixed reviews. Most of it was really… supportive, and it really warms my heart that so many people could relate. I used to be, like, an aesthetic queen and want my space curated perfectly a certain way, but then I realized there’s more to life. I don’t give a f*ck, OK?”

Her apartment may have people talking now, but earlier this month, it was the socialite’s past relationships with Kanye West and Drake that made headlines. During a sitdown with Andy Cohen, she candidly answered questions about both men, among other things.

Tierra Whack Labels Eminem The Best Ever, Gets Backlash On Twitter

Tierra Whack is coming under fire on Twitter for praising Eminem as the best rapper of all time. She also referred to him as being “light skin.”

“Eminem still the best rapper ever whether you can relate to him or not!” Whack tweeted on Sunday.

She later added: “Eminem is light skin.”

Fans of Whack weren’t happy with her opinion. Many in her replies cited 2Pac, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and even Whack herself as being better than Eminem.

“Ooooh bad take… there’s TONS of rappers from the 90s and 2000s that’s miles ahead of them that didn’t have the same backing,” one fan replied before citing MF DOOM, Mos Def, and Pharoahe Monch.

While many disagreed with her opinion on the great of all time, others defended Whack.

One wrote: “I don’t like the way people on here are dragging Tierra Whack cause she said Eminem is the best rapper. Are y’all that miserable that you can’t allow others to have their own opinion? That’s how she feels and guilt tripping her isn’t going to change her mind.”

Others noted that Whack made the comments on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

“PLEASE DELETE THIS,” another user wrote. “It’s MLK day.”

Despite the polarization of his placement among the greatest hip-hop artists, Eminem is undoubtedly one of the most commercially successful artists in the genre. Over the course of his career, Eminem’s had 10 albums top the Billboard 200 chart. Back in November, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Check out Tierra Whack’s posts as well as the responses from fans below.

Chance The Rapper Addresses Backlash To Ghana Festival

Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa organized the Black Star Line Festival in Ghana, hosted a week ago. While the festival was a celebration of art, culture, and unity in the Black community, it did receive some criticism. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the Chicago MC addressed concerns over inviting Dave Chappelle and other issues.

Moreover, Chappelle’s inclusion comes after years of a controversial history regarding jokes towards the LGBTQ+ community. Such issues permeate Ghana, where an anti-LGBTQ+ bill is supported by a large party coalition. Also, there’s the issue of outsiders exacerbating local issues of economic inequality and poor living conditions in Ghana. Many believe that the Black Star Line Festival only adds fuel to this fire.

While all these elements provided inflammatory public discourse, the “No Problem” rapper spoke to Rolling Stone about the festival’s success.

“It was a really dope and deep moment,” the artist expressed. Also, he made a comment of how his sets ended up delayed. By the time Chance performed at 5 a.m. local time, many had already left. However, that mean there was room for more unticketed guests.

“And by that time, obviously the crowd going from 50,000 to 1,500 — it’s a lot of space. I think by that time the guards and everybody are like…there’s no real reason to keep people out at that point. I think they let a few hundred people in that had stayed all night because the video towers also allowed you to see the show from outside of the square. I’m still processing the whole thing, everything. It didn’t go all as planned, but it went perfectly.

“I’ve thrown five festivals and this is the second or third free one that I’ve done,” he continued. “But none of them have been to the scale of 50,000 plus people. Then for it to be overwhelmingly black and for it to be on the continent. And for a lot of people that was their first time in Ghana, whether they were American or of the diaspora. It was completely organized and put together by black folks on the continent. I think everybody was just very happy.”

Later in the interview, Chance addressed the concerns of outsiders impacting the quality of life for Ghanan citizens.

“Most of those festivals are native to Ghana,” he said. “There’s only myself and Vic’s Black Star Line Festival and Afro Nation are the only two that I know of that aren’t actually posited by people that are from Ghana. But that was something that was on my mind from the jump when we made it. I always wanted this festival to be something that, for one, provided access to people that don’t typically get to go to these concerts because a lot of the events around that time do price people out.”

Chance also said he “wanted to work with a 100% Ghanaian team in terms of not even just the production managers or directors, but also all the stagehands, all the equipment coming from production companies in Ghana. I can’t speak for all the festivals, but our festival created a whole lot of jobs and put a lot of people to work.

“The goal overall is to just create community. I think that within this trip… a lot of the people that came from the diaspora, most of the people, if not all of them, were very respectful of the space and a lot of relationships were built. A lot of people created substantial relationships and connections that I think will live long after this festival… It’s something that we just have to remain in conversation about. I think it’s important that those issues are raised, and those conversations are had.”

Afterwards, Chance spoke on Chappelle’s inclusion in the festival and how they reached different conclusions to what many assume.

“I think it’s something that Dave was actually shining a light on,” he stated. “That’s where that conversation came from. Dave was making a comment about the comedy scene in Ghana when he said, “I bet gay jokes go over so well here,” to which everybody laughed about. And he was making a point to say that in Ghana, you can make jokes about things that are about gay people, about trans people, about a lot of social constructs, just about anything in the world. But you can’t make a comment about the government there. That’s not funny and that’s not respected, and it can be dangerous. It’s the complete opposite where we come from, where we can speak about the government all we want.

“I can’t really all the way speak for Dave. I don’t want to say what he thinks or what he feels, but what I think I know about him is that he loves everybody, especially his people, meaning Black people, meaning Black people that are trans, Black people that are gay, Black people that are gender non-conforming, people period. And I think that in that space, I would say I don’t believe that he bashed trans people or gay people at all throughout the entire conversation.”

What do you think of Chance the Rapper’s comments about the backlash to his Black Star Line Festival in Ghana? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out the full interview below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for more important conversations surrounding the community.

Kendall Jenner Slammed For Making Assistant Hold Umbrella In Rainstorm

You know what they say – when it rains, it pours. Luckily for Kendall Jenner, she can afford an assistant to trail behind her, holding an umbrella over her head so she can stay dry and maintain use of both hands.

Unsurprisingly, the reality star is getting hate for her latest antics online. As The Sun reports, photos of a miserable-looking male dressed in all-black have been circulating online as he follows the model through the California downpour to her destination.

Snapped on Saturday (January 14), the photos see Jenner dressed down in black leggings and a blue hoodie. White crew socks and a pair of tan ankle-heigh Ugg boots keep her feet warm. Even with the rain pouring, she was able to wear her hood down and keep her long black hair dry. Her staff member, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky.

As The Sun reports, social media users have been quick to share their thoughts on the paparazzi photos. “I don’t care how rich I am but I would feel so bad letting someone hold my umbrella for me while they are getting soaked,” one user wrote on a Kardashian forum.

“Agreed! Plus it would be a bit awkward? You would stay [drier] just holding it yourself…” another pointed out. Later, someone else chimed in with, “Yes! I was just thinking how I couldn’t allow someone to hold an umbrella for me because I’m too lazy to hold it myself.”

While she’s facing hate for Saturday’s outing, Jenner certainly made a splash while attending Lori Harvey’s 26th birthday party earlier this weekend.

For her part, the 818 founder donned a sultry sheer black dress with no bra for the function at Lavo in West Hollywood. Other famous faces in attendance include Tyler, The Creator and Justine Skye.

Additionally, Damson Idris and the b-day girl made their official debut as a couple at the party. Read more about that here, and check back with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.

Meek Mill Deletes Music Video Filmed At Jubilee House Amid Backlash

Meek Mill is coming under fire on social media after sharing a teaser for a new music video he filmed at the Jubilee House. The location serves as the Office of the President and is considered the highest security zone in Ghana.

Just the short teaser features numerous areas in the Jubilee House, including the podium of President Akufo-Addo, which he uses to address the nation.

Meek Mill filmed the music video while visiting Ghana over the holidays to perform at Afro Nation. He also had an audience with Nana Akufo-Addo.

In response to the backlash on social media, Meek Mill has since deleted the post.

“Meek Mill really shot a music video at Jubilee House? This is the lowest point we can get as a country,” one user wrote on Twitter over the weekend. “What happened to ‘Jubilee House is a security zone.’ Even American Embassy in Ghana, you can’t take pictures and Ghana 🇬🇭 allows Jubilee House to become studio. We are FINISH.”

Another user wrote: “Director of Diaspora Affairs & Minister of Interior, y’all really get questions answer for that Meek Mill video oooo.. how’s a drone being flown over the Jubilee house? As innnnnn???? You can’t even shoot a photo at the Independence Square & not get jumped at by ‘security’ Herh!”

“Nah!! This is getting serious, why are we allowing this?” one other Twitter user wrote. “Can Meek Mill shoot a music video in the white house?”

Asian Doll Responds On Twitter After Dress Designer Claims She Ghosted Her

Asian Doll found herself in hot water earlier this week when the rapper was accused of ghosting a fashion designer after asking her to create a pricey gown. Appearing to respond on social media, the Let’s Do A Drill rapper later tweeted “believe what you want.”

In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, Calia Abdul accused Asian of ghosting her after she asked her to create a birthday dress. The Dallas native brought in her 26th birthday this past Wednesday.

Sharing receipts, the dress designer posted a screenshot of the DMs they allegedly exchanged.

“Wow. This is so heartbreaking. @asiandabrat had me spend hundreds of dollars to create her birthday dress just to ghost me A DAY BEFORE HER BIRTHDAY,” she penned in the post. “Not only that, @asiandabrat also sent my design to be recreated and copied by someone else last minute. As a small business this is a huge loss ‼

Abdul then added that she spent money on the dress she couldn’t afford to lose, also revealing that she “spent sleepless nights” working on the design in order to deliver on the diamond-encrusted gown.

Asian took to her Twitter early Friday morning to seemingly address the ghosting allegation. “I’m so tied of explaining myself on the internet to b****es… I rather not say nun no more believe what you want idgaf,” she tweeted to her 1.5 million followers.

Clearly irritated, she followed up with another tweet, stating, “Yesterday I let y’all talk today ima tell all you b****es to SUCK MY D**K one by one… let’s play.”

After a Twitter user clapped back at the “Nunnadet Sh*t” for not being able to “afford to pay an IG stylist,” Asian decided to directly acknowledge the backlash.

Appearing to address Abdul’s claims that she went with another designer instead, she tweeted back, “Her dress was $1500 his dress was 2k b***h who couldn’t afford what ? Your rent not even 2k b***h mind yo business.”

Abdul went on to add more clarity to the story on Friday. In another Instagram post, she claimed “it’s impossible to say she didn’t know I was creating the dress.”

Posting another screenshot of Asian asking her to come to Miami, Abdul continued, “I stated over and over again that I spent money and time on the project. If I would have been told not to create it I wouldn’t have. Even after the indecisiveness I was told to stick to it, so I did.”

What are your thoughts on Asian allegedly ghosting the dress designer after collaborating on the gown? Sound off with your opinion in the comments below.

Nelly Slammed Over Resurfaced Videos That Show Him Singing To Young Girls: Watch

A number of videos showing Nelly previously singing inappropriately to underage girls on stage have resurfaced. Outrage, backlash and questioning have consequently ensued on social media.

In the clips, the Texas native intimately sings to underage girls on the stage with him. In one, the Country Grammar artist is seen performing his 2004 track “Over and Over” near the child’s face.

He asks if she’s nervous. Afterward, he proceeds to grab some of her hair before serenading her in a highly inappropriate way.

Nelly commits a similar act in a separate video. As the young girl awkwardly stands on stage, he surprisingly twirls her hair and begins to sing to her in a disturbing manner.

The pop-rap hitmaker even attempts to hold the fan’s hand, which is obviously met with uncertainty.

In both videos, the crowd screams and even laughs at the situation ensuing in front of them. It’s unclear at this time why the Dancing with the Stars alum didn’t receive backlash at the time of these concerts.

The videos have resurfaced after Nelly was in the news just this past weekend for a passionate performance with his ex, R&B singer Ashanti.

The couple reunited on stage for Power 98.3 and Power 96.1’s “Under The Mistletoe” concert in Arizona. Their performance of their collaborative 2008 track, “Body On Me” found them trending on social media.

The celebrity couple called their decade-long romance quits in 2014.

Fans were calling for the former couple to rekindle their love, but now Twitter is demanding answers for the 48-year-old’s disgusting behaviour with underage fans on stage.

“OUTRAGED! This shit is insane,” one person wrote. “I know those of you that love and support R. Kelly won’t see anything wrong here, BUT, for the rest of us, why is it okay for a GROWN ass man, NELLY, now to be referred to as R. Nelly, to call an 8-YEAR-OLD girl on stage and sing to her, rubbing [and] all.”

Neither Nelly nor his team have commented on the situation thus far. Make sure to check back in with HNHH for the latest updates.

Latto Faces Backlash Over Answer She Gave To Kid Interviewer

A quick chat with a little girl has caused chaos for Latto. The femcee is no stranger to controversy and is quick to clap back at people who try to target her online, and she may have a busy day ahead of her after a snippet of a brief exchange with a child has gone viral.

In the clip, the little girl was conducting interviews at an event and was able to snag a moment with the rapper. “How would you describe your personal style?” the girl asked.

(Photo by Phillip Faraone/Getty Images for iHeartRadio)

“I think I’m authentic, I think I give a modern sexually liberated woman,” Latto answered. “You’ll learn about that later.”

After someone uploaded the clip to Twitter, it was quickly shared on various platforms and Latto faced a wave of pushback. Some believed that it was an inappropriate answer for a child, and later, Hazel-E blasted the rapper, saying she would have had to “G check” Latto.

“You gotta know what is appropriate for what audience,” Hazel wrote. “Bring back artist development! I use to teach it when I was a publicist for Insterscope. I remember the first time I trained Gaga for the red carpet…and read the room.”

Check out the clip and read through a few reactions below.
