Lil Nas X Says Reveals Plans For New Album

Lil Nas X has not made his presence felt in quite some time. In 2022, the Atlanta pop-rap star only put out two singles throughout the year. The first came in June and was titled “Late To Da Party (F*CK BET).” Featuring NBA YoungBoy, the song came during a time when Nas X was infuriated with how the BET Awards committee snubbed him. Next came “Star Walkin” in September. The single was made as the anthem for the League of Legends Worlds tournament. Just before its release, Nas X was named the president of League of Legends.

All of last year, though, fans were holding their breath in anticipation of Lil Nas X’s next full-length album. His 2021 debut MONTERO was a smashing success. Landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling nearly 125,000 units, MONTERO proved that Nas X is here to stay. So, as the page turned to 2022, listeners wondered what was next for him. Initially, he had planned for the album’s promotional singles to be the aforementioned “Late To Da Party” as well as another track named “Down Souf Hoes” featuring Saucy Santana. While the former did release, the latter still has yet to come. But, the wait for another LP may not last much longer.

Lil Nas X Talks Album

On Monday (Feb. 20), Nas X used his favorite platform Twitter to communicate with his fans about what he’s been up to. Under a fan’s tweet mocking him for his lack of songs released lately, Nas X gave some useful information. First, referring to “Down Souf Hoes,” he said the song got leaked so it did not release. He continued, though, by saying it will likely still land on his upcoming album: “it leaked but it’s still on the album.” Speaking of the album, he also added that it will likely come out in the summer. “most likely summer,” he responded to a fan.

Furthermore, fans then asked Nas X how many song would be on the currently untitled album. To this, he replied that he is still making music so he does not know. “idk i love so many songs plus i’m still in the studio making music so it’s gone be hard to pick,” he replied. Lastly, he spoke on how he approcahes song and album releases. Evident in past singles, Nas X said he likes for each song to have its moment when it comes out. “it’s mostly planning now,” he said. “i could easily just release music but i have to build moments around this shit. i have to go bigger than before!” It appears that Lil Nas X has a clear vision about what he wants out of his next album. So, for fans, all they have to do is sit back and wait just a bit longer. Check out Nas X’s tweets about his album above.

Lupe Fiasco Expresses Interest In Doing A Song With Drake

There’s a long, documented history of Drake and Lupe Fiasco having a complicated relationship over the years.

The two share a mutual respect for each other’s craft. There have, however, also been a couple of assumed subliminal shots sent in songs.

It now appears as though the Chicago actually wants to put their admiration for one another to the test. He says he wants them to collaborate on a song.

It all began when a fan took to their Twitter account on Monday (December 19), simply tweeting that they want to hear the “Kick, Push” rapper and Drake on a track together. Lupe subsequently replied, writing “Me three…” in a quote tweet.

On at least two occasions in the past, Lupe has kicked freestyles over a Drake song. In 2018, he rapped over Drizzy’s collab with Travis Scott, “Sicko Mode.”

More recently, he took his turn going in over the “Champagne Poetry” instrumental, titling it “Diet Soda Poetry.” “Just left album mode with me and my n***a Trakk / and Drake dropped this sh*t, got me thinking about going back,” he raps while paying homage to the Certified Lover Boy rapper.

Furthermore, the 6 God rapped over the 40-year-old’s iconic “Kick, Push” instrumental on his debut mixtape, Room for Improvement.

Nonetheless, Drake seemingly took some shots at the Chicago native while rapping on his 2015 throwaway track, “5 Am in Toronto.” The Toronto star raps, “It’s funny when you think a n***a blew up after Lupe / N****s treat me like I’ve been here for 10 / Some n****s been here for a couple, never been here again.”

However, in a 2020 interview with Rob Markman for Genius, Lupe provided his side of the story. Initially viewed as a subliminal shot toward him, the consensus now seems to be that it was actually praise. “I can just tell you that Drake has a lot of respect for me and I have a lot of respect for Drake,” he says in the interview.

Additionally, the DRILL MUSIC IN ZION rapper came to Champagne Papi’s defence amid his beef with Pusha T. Namely, he spoke out regarding Pusha’s choice for the cover art of his notorious diss song, “The Story of Adidon.” Drake is seen wearing black face in the photo.

In some since-deleted tweets, the 40-year-old seemingly defends the cover art. “Yes it’s two pictures of 6 in blackface…the one Pusha has as the cover is connected to another one but it’s cropped off. The one you saw is happy the other is dark and sad. Both together actually presents a powerful duality of representation and race and its expectations on art,” he wrote.

The tweet from Lupe teasing the collaboration has certainly stirred some interesting reactions from social media users.

Regardless, we can only hope that this collaboration will actually come to fruition.

“What makes you think that no matter how much money you got you can’t lose it all if you don’t manage your money correctly,” she continued. “I too have bills, responsibilities and people I have to help.”

The issue has apparently been on Cardi B’s mind for some time now. Back in June, she also tweeted about a possible recession, asking at the time “When y’all think they going to announce that we going into a recession?”

Earlier this year, the “WAP” rapper also discussed inflation on social media, questioning how people are managing to survive amid rising prices. In an Instagram video, she acknowledged the criticism she’s received in the past for supporting our current POTUS Joe Biden.

“You know one thing that people was coming at me every single time that we saying that something bad in the economy is happening? And people be like, ‘Well you was the one that told people to vote for Joe Biden,’” she shared.

“But this the thing, right? After the pandemic, I knew that this sh*t was gonna happen. I knew we was gonna have a financial crisis. And the thing about it is, that this is not only in America.”

Asian Doll Responds On Twitter After Dress Designer Claims She Ghosted Her

Asian Doll found herself in hot water earlier this week when the rapper was accused of ghosting a fashion designer after asking her to create a pricey gown. Appearing to respond on social media, the Let’s Do A Drill rapper later tweeted “believe what you want.”

In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, Calia Abdul accused Asian of ghosting her after she asked her to create a birthday dress. The Dallas native brought in her 26th birthday this past Wednesday.

Sharing receipts, the dress designer posted a screenshot of the DMs they allegedly exchanged.

“Wow. This is so heartbreaking. @asiandabrat had me spend hundreds of dollars to create her birthday dress just to ghost me A DAY BEFORE HER BIRTHDAY,” she penned in the post. “Not only that, @asiandabrat also sent my design to be recreated and copied by someone else last minute. As a small business this is a huge loss ‼

Abdul then added that she spent money on the dress she couldn’t afford to lose, also revealing that she “spent sleepless nights” working on the design in order to deliver on the diamond-encrusted gown.

Asian took to her Twitter early Friday morning to seemingly address the ghosting allegation. “I’m so tied of explaining myself on the internet to b****es… I rather not say nun no more believe what you want idgaf,” she tweeted to her 1.5 million followers.

Clearly irritated, she followed up with another tweet, stating, “Yesterday I let y’all talk today ima tell all you b****es to SUCK MY D**K one by one… let’s play.”

After a Twitter user clapped back at the “Nunnadet Sh*t” for not being able to “afford to pay an IG stylist,” Asian decided to directly acknowledge the backlash.

Appearing to address Abdul’s claims that she went with another designer instead, she tweeted back, “Her dress was $1500 his dress was 2k b***h who couldn’t afford what ? Your rent not even 2k b***h mind yo business.”

Abdul went on to add more clarity to the story on Friday. In another Instagram post, she claimed “it’s impossible to say she didn’t know I was creating the dress.”

Posting another screenshot of Asian asking her to come to Miami, Abdul continued, “I stated over and over again that I spent money and time on the project. If I would have been told not to create it I wouldn’t have. Even after the indecisiveness I was told to stick to it, so I did.”
