Jeezy Finally Squashes Feud With Coach K

Jeezy and Coach K finally put their differences aside during the Thug Motivation concert in Atlanta on Friday night.

Though Jeezy and Coach K emerged alongside each other, their relationship quickly spoiled during his ascent to stardom. However, the two finally buried the hatchet. Coach K emerged on stage on Friday night to introduce Jeezy to the stage.

“They say for your blessings to really start, you have to have a clean slate. Tonight, two Black men settle their differences,” he said. “So here I am on this stage tonight to give you the story about how we got here.”

Afterward, he delved into their backstory, from giving each other their respective nicknames to imagining their success together.

“I named Young Jeezy and he named me Coach K. We was inseparable,” Coach K explained. Then, he detailed a night at 112 where he witnessed Jeezy’s crew buy out all of the bottles in the club.

“But leaving that club that night, I told Jeezy, ‘Man, you gotta start talking about this shit that you doing in your music.’ He looked at me and said, ‘Man, you crazy. If I talk about this shit, I’m going to jail!’ I said, ‘Nah, but if you rap it in third person, they gon’ feel it — and you ain’t gonna incriminate yourself.’ After that conversation, the magic began.”

Jeezy previously addressed their issues during an appearance on Drink Champs. The Trap Or Die rapper explained that the 2007 fallout was a result of poor communication.

“Don’t get me wrong, he’s great at what he does, but there were a lot of conversations that didn’t happen before the fame and the money came, and the understanding,” he said. “I just didn’t trust a lot of things…I’m just understanding what I’m assuming. So if you’re not communicating with somebody and it’s not going how you want it to go, of course you’re gonna be like, ‘Yo, I’m not rocking like that.’ Then he probably thought it ain’t going how he want it to go.”

Six Arrested After Riots Break Out Near Atlanta Police Training Facility

Atlanta police arrested six individuals on Saturday (January 21) after peaceful protests against an activist’s death turned to riots. Moreover, the protests occurred near the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, which many citizens wish to see removed. After the peaceful demonstrations evolved into violent responses, protestors smashed windows, caused chaos, and lit a police vehicle on fire.

“Atlanta Police officers have responded to a group damaging property at several locations along Peachtree [Street],” Atlanta PD stated on Saturday, according to Fox 5. “Several arrests have been made at this time and order has been restored to the downtown space. This is still an active and ongoing investigation and we will not be able to provide specifics on arrests numbers or property damaged, at this time.”

“Atlanta is safe and our police officers have resolved the disruptions downtown from earlier in the evening,” City of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said on Saturday evening.

“The City of Atlanta and the Atlanta Police Department will continue to protect the right to peaceful protest,” he added. “We will not tolerate violence or property destruction.”

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, rioters set off fireworks and threw rocks at the Atlanta Police Foundation as well. Furthermore, protestors spoke out against the death of Manuel Esteban Páez Terán at the hands of police. Allegedly, they refused demands from authorities to leave an encampment of protestors against the new facility. Moreover, its detractors nicknamed it “Cop City.” Additionally, authorities announced this new training facility to boost morale and recruitment.

Furthermore, Terán identified as non-binary and went by “Tortuguita,” according to fellow protestors. When police searched encampments near the facility to halt their trespassing, they reportedly shot at police. Later, they died in the ensuing gunfight.

Meanwhile, Georgia governor Brian Kemp expressed that violence in peaceful are unacceptable.

“While the state continues to respect peaceful protest,” they will not tolerate riots of this magnitude. Moreover, he ordered authorities to arrest and prosecute lawbreakers.

However, what do you think of the riots near the Atlanta police training facility? Whatever the case let us know in the comments down below. Also, come back to HNHH for more updates on this story.

Chaka Zulu’s Murder Case Has Reportedly Stalled

Gun violence is one of America’s most pressing issues, and Hip-Hop is perhaps the industry affected by it the most. Last summer, Chaka Zulu (Ludacris’ longtime manager) was seriously injured in a deadly triple shooting in Atlanta. A group of men allegedly jumped Zulu, and afterward, Zulu claims to have shot back in self-defense. Zulu was shot in the back while 23-year-old Artez Benton was shot and killed.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Zulu turned himself into Fulton County authorities, and he was reportedly charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and simple battery. Several prominent voices in Hip-Hop, including 50 Cent and Pusha T, have voiced their support for Chaka Zulu.

Although Chaka Zulu turned himself in approximately four months ago, Banks confirmed that no court dates have been assigned. Regardless, he encourages fans and supporters to remain positive.

“The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office is still investigating this matter. At this time, there are no upcoming court dates. He needs [the love]. More importantly, he appreciates it,” Banks said.

Prosecutors reportedly pushed back YFN Lucci’s RICO trial so he could testify against Young Thug in his RICO trial. Although their cases are still without dates, another Fulton County criminal case is almost in full swing. Young Thug’s potentially industry-shifting RICO trial is currently in the jury selection process, so stay tuned to HNHH for updates.

Rich Homie Quan Details Working At Gucci Mane’s Studio

Rich Homie Quan says that Gucci Mane had a strict regimen for artists working at his studio in Atlanta. Speaking with HipHopDX, Quan says it’d feel like being “kidnapped” while recording there.

“Gucci had a studio of Moreland and Memorial in Atlanta,” he told the outlet. “That was the first time I met Migos as well. R.I.P. to Takeoff. We’d all be up there in this one room on the couch and Gucci would have three different rooms in there. I had met Thug then but the first song we recorded was ‘Get the Fuck Out My Face.’”

From there, he further explained: “Gucci gon’ kidnap you. [Gucci Mane] gon’ get you in and you gon’ do 10 songs before you’re able to go home. He got different producers pulling up he had like three rooms in the house. He may have Dun Deal upstairs, he may have Honorable C-Note in the other room.”

Quan first found mainstream commercial success in 2013 with the single, “Type of Way.” He further solidified his place in the Atlanta scene with “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” his collaboration with Young Thug, “Lifestyle,” and more. He also worked with Thug again on Travis Scott’s 2014 hit “Mamacita.”

Elsewhere in his interview with HipHopDX, Quan discussed working with Lil Dicky on the 2015 single, “$ave Dat Money.” In doing so, Quan compared the comedic rapper to Kanye West.

SahBabii Shares New Project “LeakOut”

SahBabii remains one of the most out-of-the-box artists to emerge out of Atlanta. But even years after stamping his name in hip-hop, he’s clearly pushing his own creative boundaries further.

This week, the rapper returned with the release of his latest project, LeakOut. The 12-song effort is another exemplary body of work that highlights SahBabii’s innate ability to craft dreamy and infectious bops. SahBabii handles the majority of the project’s tracklist on his own. However, “Jiffy” includes an appearance from Boohman Da Ghost. Overall, LeakOut continues to prove that SahBabii marches to the beat of his own drum, and does it well.

Surprisingly, LeakOut marks his first overall release this year. He didn’t lead the project with any singles, simply announcing the project hours before it was due out. However, in his announcement post, he confirmed that he would have even more music flooding the streets in 2023. “New sh!t next month, LeaKout tonight,” he captioned an IG post of the album’s cover art and a photo of himself on the toilet.

LeakOut serves as the official follow-up to 2021’s Do It For Demon. The project consisted of 20 songs in total without a single feature attached to the tracklist.

SahBabii first came into public consciousness in 2015 with the viral success of “Pull Up Wit Ah Stick” ft. Loso Loaded. The song’s success earned him major co-signs from Young Thug and Drake, who expressed interest in adding a verse to the song. Though the collab never happened, it’s clear that SahBabii would continue to be where he’s at now with or without the co-signs.

Check his latest project below and sound off in the comment sections with your favorite track off of LeakOut.
