Quality Control Honored With Their Own Official Day In Atlanta

There’s no doubt that Quality Control cemented its name. What they’ve done in Atlanta set a standard that allowed a new generation of artists to come into the game. Atlanta is home to some of the greatest rappers of all time. However, not every label that emerged from the city saw the same success as Quality Control. Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas transformed bubbling local rappers into the biggest success stories in rap. To this day, they continue to do so while expanding well beyond the realms of the A.

Today, the city of Atlanta honored the label with its very own day. City officials dubbed March 15th, 2023 “QC Day” in the city. On the label’s official Instagram page, they shared a letter from State Representative Park Cannon who commended Lee and Thomas. “You have been chosen to be honored on QC Day because you have worked diligently at your craft and brought millions of dollars in revenue along with notoriety to the City of Atlanta,” the letter reads. “As State Representative, I am elated at the opportunity to recognize your hard work in the Georgia State House Of Representatives.”

Quality Control Day In Atlanta

The news of QC Day in Atlanta comes a few weeks after Hybe acquired Quality Control in a $300M deal. However, Lee and Thomas will continue to have full control and creative direction of the company. “P and I are ecstatic about this partnership with Scooter and Hybe and are confident they can get us to our global ambitions we’ve had in our scope since the beginning of the company as nothing means more than our artists impacting worldwide,” Lee said in a statement. “Over many years, Scooter and I have cultivated real trust and a common way of looking at the world and culture.”

Quality Control launched in 2013 with Migos leading their roster. The group’s relationship with the label became strained in recent times due to Offset’s lawsuit against QC. However, they’ve expanded with the signing of artists like Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and the City Girls. They also boast Solid Foundation Management branch, which manages artists like Trippie Redd. With the new deal with Hybe, and their official day in Atlanta, there’s no telling where Quality Control will head in the next decade.

Meek Mill Looking To Sell His Atlanta Mansion: ‘I Never Moved in It’

Meek Mill August 11 2022 1

Meek Mill is looking to sell his Atlanta-area mansion. Hitting Instagram, Meek shared an aerial view of the 8-bedroom, 9-bathroom home.

The house is located in the city’s Sandy Springs/Buckhead area and features a pool, tennis court, twin garages, and more.

“MANSION FOR SALE IN ATL my realtor not getting this off fast enough & I think I can lol I never moved in it had for a few years,” Meek wrote.

“Sandy springs/buckhead area! When somebody get traded to the hawks or falcons come grab this Jawn! I’m not even gone tag who shot this shitty video lol!”

Maybe former Cincinnati Bengals safety Jessie Bates III can buy the crib. Bates III is headed to Atlanta, agreeing to a four-year contract with the Falcons. His new deal, which is official on Wednesday, is worth over $64 million. Bates III will make $23 million in the first year.

Meek Mill Enters Realtor Mode With Virtual Mansion Tour

Meek Mill just became somewhat of a realtor after offering fans a virtual tour via Instagram of the Atlanta mansion he put up for sale. Moreover, he published a kind of hilarious showcase clip to his social media page. The property consists of eight bedrooms, outdoor swimming pool tennis court, jacuzzi, twin double garages, and some more fun stuff. Not only that, but he wants $25 million for the mansion, which he told his followers he never even lived in. Even if many find that ridiculous, it’s still kind of a flex for the Philly rapper.

“MANSION FOR SALE IN ATL,” the “Dreams and Nightmares” MC wrote on Sunday (March 12). “My realtor not getting this off fast enough & I think I can lol I never moved in it had for a few years. Sandy springs/buckhead area! When somebody get traded to the hawks or falcons come grab this Jawn! I’m not even gone tag who shot this s***ty video lol!” While the video isn’t that bad, the music does reek of royalty-free advertising templates you’d find in a medication commercial.

Meek Mill Becomes A Realtor

Nevertheless, some of Meek’s famous friends couldn’t help but crack a joke or two at the mansion’s price point and his real estate side hustle. For example, Michael Rubin, a business associate with quite the acumen, wrote a cheeky message for the 35-year-old. “25m seems like a fair price!” he posted, adding some crying-laughing emojis. Also, TDE rapper Reason had some props for Meek’s actual sales ability, albeit for the wrong reasons. “This the funniest pitch I’ve ever read,” he remarked.

However, maybe the funniest part about this whole thing is that it fulfills Meek Mill’s lyrical prophecies. To explain, he has a particular line on the track “Ima Boss” that actually predicted his current mansion ownership. “Crib I ain’t never been, pool I don’t never swim,” he rapped on the track. Maybe that visionary pen will translate into a decent sale for this new Atlanta mansion. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news, updates, and potential property sales from Philly’s Meek Mill.

SZA Shows Off Stunning Fit & Body For Atlanta Show

SZA wowed fans with a stunning fit that showed off her body for her recent show in Atlanta. Moreover, her tour faced a bit of hiccups along the way, but still remains an overwhelming success for the SOS star. For this recent show, she donned a full dress with another body on it and behind it, with varying shades of blue, yellow, and red. It’s quite the colorful and stylish look, with even Cardi B complimenting her body on Instagram. In fact, the “WAP” hitmaker showed SZA some love just a couple of days after popping out at one of her shows.

Also, the “Kill Bill” singer took to Instagram to thank ATL and clear up some confusion around her Philly show. “Atlanta owes me NOTHING !” the 33-year-old captioned a recap post of the show. “Only 9 more shows left to go ! thank you so much SOS tour #SOLDOUT I ain’t even know the music cut off [crying emoji].” That last comment refers to her audio cutting out during her performance of “Love Galore,” but the crowd still screamed and sang along, keeping the energy up.

SZA’s Fit Has Her Looking Fit For Atlanta Show

“Philly the concert is gonna be THIS YEAR not 2025,” she added in the comments. “lol the date is already settled I dunno why Ticketmaster sent that !” Even with those small bumps in the road, everyone seems to be loving the TDE artist’s latest live outings. For example, at this recent Atlanta show, Yung Miami was one of a few stars who went to enjoy the spectacle. Furthermore, fans spotted the City Girl dancing along to her performance, where even the slowest song becomes a banger with the rest of the crowd pouring their heart out.

Meanwhile, success just seems to build, and build, and build commercially for SZA’s latest album. SOS recently spent its tenth week atop the Billboard 200 chart, a remarkable feat for any artist. Considering the near-six-year gap in between this album and Ctrl, its longevity isn’t surprising, but nevertheless impressive. After all, when fans wait over five years for something and it’s this good, how could they not make up for lost time? Regardless, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on SZA.

What We Know About Latto & 21 Savage

For about two years now, Latto and 21 Savage have been a mystery to us all.  After countless clues and speculations, the Atlanta rappers continue to deny they are in a relationship.  The “Lottery” artist tries to keep her personal life private while the Slaughtergang CEO is never one to talk much.  Hence, who knows if they are together?  However, there’s plenty of evidence that shows at some point they were in each other’s lives.

First, rumors started in December of 2020 when both artists posted pictures in what looked like the same location.  Neither party confirmed, but fans were adamant they were together.  Two years later, eyes are still on them, and they  both remain that they are not in a relationship.  Here’s what we know about Latto and 21 Savage during  the past few years.

March 2021-21 Savage Deletes Post

21 Savage reposted a picture of Latto on his Instagram story.  In the photo, it looks like Latto just left the Hermes store as she is walking with a Hermes bag, throwing up the peace sign.  She is all smiles looking at the camera in a comfortable outfit.

The “a lot” rapper couldn’t keep his thoughts to himself as he wanted to express his admiration for her.  He posted the picture with the message: “No makeup [heart eyes emojis] dam u fine it’s only 1 way I can come bout you twin [crying laughing face emoji]”.  Immediately, Savage deleted the post, but it was too late as fans started to speculate.  Many accused them of lying about their relationship as both rappers continue to deny being together.

April 2021-Fans see 21 Savage’s shadow in Latto photo

Latto yet again hit the Gram up with a few alluring photos.  The Queen of Da Souf rapper posted the pictures with the caption, “He love it here.”  It’s interesting she uses the caption as there is clearly a man taking these photos.  In one of the pictures, you can see a shadow of the photographer.

Fans picked up on this and determined the photographer to be 21 Savage.  It is said to be the Atlanta rapper because of the silhouette’s hair.  Latto’s comments were flooded with fans saying it has to be 21.  Obviously, neither party confirmed the rumor.

July 2021-Latto addresses Dream Doll’s “Tryout”

Bronx rapper Dream Doll released a song titled, “Tryouts”.  In this song, she mentions and shows love to many female rappers in Hip Hop.  Latto was included on the list as she had a few lines for the “Big Energy” artist.  She raps, “And Mulatto, yeah, that’s my lil’ honey bun/Asked her how many times she came, she said, ’21 21’.”

Nice wordplay from Dream Doll as she puts together both rappers and also, ends it with Savage’s adlib.  Although Latto didn’t say much about the song, she had nothing but praises for Dream Doll.

“I think Dream Doll is dope, and I’m so proud of her elevation.  She comes from a reality TV show.  I come from a reality TV show so it’s like I’m rooting for her.”

21 Savage has not made a comment on the song either.  Honestly, either Dream Doll knows something, or it’s just rap.  You decide.

October 2021-Happy Birthday from Latto?

On his 29th birthday, 21 Savage received a special birthday cake.  Evidently, the NSFW cake was heart-shaped with a note that read, “Lemme suck that d***”.  Hence, once fans saw this, they immediately pointed the finger to Latto.  The “Bank Account” rapper also showed off his room which was decorated with red balloons and roses as well as lit candles spelling 21.

Per usual, Savage is tight-lipped and did not reveal who did this for him.  Fans are accusing Latto of this stating that the message on the note is something she would say.  The 777 rapper might be keeping this her little secret or maybe she didn’t do this at all.  We can only wonder.

December 2021: 21 Attends Latto Birthday Party

21 Savage attends Latto’s 23rd birthday party.   It was a celebration to say the least as the Clayco County rapper was gifted a brand new Richard Mille watch to go with a brand new Lambroghini.  Furthermore, a fireworks display was also a part of the night.

Fans assumed the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper put together the fireworks show and brought her the lavish gifts. Latto was overwhelmed with excitement as 21 looked on.  He attended the party in theme, dressed as a Cowboy.

March 2022: “Wheelie”

Latto collaborated with 21 Savage for their second song together, “Wheelie”.  They last collaborated on “Pull Up” off Latto’s debut album, Queen of Da Souf.  “Wheelie” comes with a video and is the second single off her sophomore project, 777.

October 2022: Freaknik for 21’s 30th

Even though she was on tour opening up for Lizzo, Latto still managed to attend 21 Savage’s 30th birthday party.  It was a “Freaknik” themed event with many stars in attendance.  After he attended her birthday party, Latto returns the favor.

December 2022: 21 Savage Denies Relationship

21 Savage speaks on his status in a conversation on Clubhouse.

“I’ve been hot for a long time.  I don’t do all the antics and s***.  I don’t got a celebrity girlfriend.”

You have to look at the key word here.  The 30 year old rapper said he doesn’t have a “celebrity” girlfriend.  That may mean he does have a girlfriend, but she isn’t famous.  Latto is one of the hottest artists out, so, maybe he isn’t in a relationship with her.

January 2023: 21 Lil Harold Slips Up

Slaughtergang artist 21 Lil Harold sat down with Hot 107.9 where he got caught up in a sneaky question. He was asked if he has someone in his corner like 21 Savage has Latto.  The young artist somewhat agreed with the radio host before realizing what he did.  MiAsia, the host, continued to ask if 21 Lil Harold thought the rumored couple were cute, to which he agreed.

”They cute together, but….them folks, they single.  They friends.”

February 2023: Rhonnie Lee Confirms; “Sheyaa” tattoo

Celebrity stylist Rhonnie Lee confirmed that Latto and 21 Savage have been dating for years.  Lee has styled many artists and now styles Moneybagg Yo. On Instagram, one user questioned why the two rappers have admitted their relationship to the public.  Lee replied that they love each other.

“They’re together have been for years now! Not something I heard something I KNOW! This woman he loves her & Vice verse!”

She sure seems confident, but no one confirmed this to be true.

Recently, it looks like Latto has a new tattoo.  Behind her ear, she has the word “Sheyaa” tattooed.  21 Savage’s legal first name is Sheyaa.  This is all fans needed to see as they took to social media to discuss the tattoo.

Let us know if you think Latto and 21 Savage are in a real relationship in the comments.

Review: Untrapped: The Story Of Lil Baby

Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby is a documentary about how the Atlanta rapper built his rap career and the things he went through while building it. He went from being a prominent name in the Atlanta streets to the Atlanta music scene. For Lil Baby, his connections to the Atlanta figures like Young Thug, Gunna and Coach K of Quality Control all had a role in taking his name to where it is today. His documentary chronicles his journey through behind-the-scenes footage spanning from his childhood to visiting his neighborhood after making it to the night he performed at the GRAMMYs.

Lil Baby’s documentary is built around how other people supported him and their roles in his journey. Young Thug and Quality Control founders Coach K and P talk about how they believed in him as a rapper and as a person. Journalist Charles Holmes talked about how his background contrasted with Lil Baby in every way but they still had an excellent interview. Drake talked about how he is one of the biggest voices of the current generation of rap. Additionally, his Mom talked about how she always knew he was different from his peers. Everyone around him was rooting for him and that pushed him to bigger and bigger opportunities and experiences.

Lil Baby’s Atlanta Connections Started His Rap Career

In Untrapped: The Lil Baby Story, we learn something surprising about the Atlanta rapper: he didn’t really want to be a rapper. He had an established name in the streets and with that came a reputation. Lil Baby was confident people already knew who he was and respected him. Also, He also knew the money he was making in the streets was quick and did not require the work that being a rapper did. Fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug wanted him off the streets and would literally pay him to stay off of them. He saw Lil Baby’s talent and wanted to steer him towards that more. However, Lil Baby was more concerned with his reputation and thought it would be tarnished if he left the streets to pursue rap.

Lil Baby regularly visited Quality Control, a prominent rap label in Atlanta. He enjoyed just hanging out there and knew the people there well. Founders Coach K and P saw something special in Lil Baby and wanted to give him a better path. They saw the fact he had a reputation in the streets was the reason he should pursue the rap career. People would already know his name and be interested and invested in the music he was making. Coach K and P told him once he got out of jail he could sign to Quality Control and that’s exactly what he did.

His Hits were Organic

Lil Baby’s song “My Dawgs” was the first one that really took him to the next level. In the documentary, there was footage of small but supportive crowds singing the song word-for-word. The song resonated with people because of the things he was talking about and the authenticity behind them. Furthermore, “Drip Too Hard” was an even bigger hit because it featured another Atlanta artist that was on the rise – Gunna. In the doc, there was footage of him and Lil Baby performing the song at different music festivals. These crowds were even bigger than the previous ones and were giving the same amount of energy. Seeing this amount of growth in such a short period of time was very motivational to see. Lil Baby committed to the rap life even though he was skeptical of it initially and it paid off.

“The Bigger Picture” was one of the biggest songs in his career. In the documentary, there was social media footage and soundbites of people saying he was hard to understand. The CEO of Motown Records, Ethiopia Habtemariam, stated this is actually common with artists from Atlanta. This song forced these listeners to put this perspective to the side and truly focus on his words. During this portion of the documentary, footage of the pandemic was shown which included people marching/protesting while masked up. Lil Baby was amongst these people as he shot the music video for the song. He stated that he wanted to talk about what was currently happening across America. He also wanted to acknowledge black people dying from police violence is an ongoing issue. His own interactions with police played a role in the song’s formation too.

Lil Baby Respects Where He Came From

In the beginning of the documentary there is footage of Lil Baby as a child with his siblings playing in his neighborhood. After that, it cuts to Lil Baby’s children and offers a shift in perspective. He states he wants to have a real relationship with his children since he didn’t have one with his father. Later, he discussed being able to help people he knows from his neighborhood and there was footage of this as well. Seeing him drive his sports car through his old neighborhood was inspiring because without it he wouldn’t be doing that in the first place. In the final moments of the documentary he says “I’m tryna show them youngins that it’s bigger. I’m living proof…I’ll never be trapped again” Lil Baby’s documentary is a testament to the payoff a change in lifestyle can bring.
